I'm a Linux mobile OS enthusiast, and I even daily drive a Pixel 3a running Ubuntu Touch very smoothly, and I've used Linux phones as my daily for over a year now. I felt inspired to make this post after watching Anthony's video. After Anthony said "if you know of anything like this but better" this video immediately came to mind. However after talking with the creator this build is not ready for prime time. But look at how much potential there is. That looks to be the most effortless multi tasking I've ever seen for a tablet. I've bought one of these tablets to install this on, but I haven't done it yet. I'd be more than happy to ship it to @GabenJr if he wants to try his hand at it (Anthony is welcome to any of my other devices aside from my Pixel 3a as well). As for other Linux devices, I highly recommend the Pixel 3a running UT. It's given me the best experience out of all the mobile Linux devices I have. The following is what I have (all running UT unless otherwise mentioned): Pixel 3a Nexus 5 Volla Phone Nexus 7 Pine Phone UT Pine Phone Manjaro (Manjaro Posh) Important Pixel 3a note: If you're considering installing UT on a 3a, you must get or have a phone with an unlocked bootloader (not the same as GSM unlocked), which the phones from the Google store will have, and you’ll need to downgrade from Android 10 to 9. It’s pretty easy though. I am running regular Ubuntu on my laptop and installed kde plasma and lightdm on top of the default gnome/unity/whatever ubuntu's default is. Lightdm and sudo will trigger the webcam for howdy and will work but lock screen for plasma will not trigger. Instead I need to enter my password every time. I have tried googling around and adding some conf files and changing the configuration for plasma, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone gotten this to work?

How does a HD CRT tv compare to today's HDR OLED TVs, maybe even high-end Plasma, and 8K TVs? Brightness output, contrast, color, and motion performance. Compare from HDR sources such as 4K Blu-ray, streaming, and gaming, also from lower fidelity upscaled sources and older media. Could be a good video for @LinusTech to do. Would love to know how an HD CRT tv or monitor stacks up against modern TV tech. It would be cool to see some discussion about what you lose (like HDR and higher resolution support) vs what you gain (no need to upscale, better motion resolution, no input lag)

Hello everyone, I had a problem in the last couple of days with my plasma installation after deleting /usr/lib/qt/qml by mistake while trying to resolve some conflicts. Since I didn't find any useful information on how to generate a new qml folder with all the right files in it I decided I'd post my solution here so anyone with a similar problem can find it faster than I did. The whole idea is to reinstall qt5 and plasma while nuking all qml configuration files, so that when you reinstall everything a new copy of all required files is created. This will change some of your desktop theming and uninstall some programs such as dolphin, however in my experience keyboard shortcut settings and program specific settings will not be touched. Mostly the biggest hassle will be reinstalling any themes you may have downloaded from the AUR. Unfortunately simply reinstalling plasma and qt5 isn't enough as it will not replace existing qml files, therefore the entire stack needs to be purged. To uninstall qt5 and plasma and purge all corrupted settings, you'll need to run pacman -Rcns plasma qt5 (note that this is for arch linux specifically, if you're running a debian or rhel based distribution you'll have to research how to do this with your distro's package manager), then reinstall both and any programs it may have removed with them (dolphin, okular, konsole, mostly anything from the kde suite). Before you do this make sure you have some terminal emulator that does not depend on the kde stack, since konsole will also be removed and reinstalling everything might become more of a hassle if you're stuck without a terminal and have to use a separate tty (especially if you run on wifi). I hope this was useful for someone.

So Kubuntu is not storing WiFi passwords at all. I have no idea why! Some sites say to enable the wallet. Others say to change the network manager (which doesn't seem to be on my Linux distro) and it's just confusing the shit out of me. Can someone please help, I'm getting irritated by Linux and KDE. The laptop specs are as followed: Core i5-2450M Intel HD Graphics 3000 1 TB WD Blue HDD 6GB of RAM (5.9 Available) Intel Celeron WiFi card Theirs only one partition on the HDD and that's the Kubuntu partition. PS: I used to have Ubuntu, I accidentally killed it, then I installed KDE Neon, but it was acting weird so now I'm trying Kubuntu.

So I have both KDE and Deepin installed on my system. When I went to uninstall Plasma to make some more space for other things, the uninstall seemed to have went fine, I just ended up making the Linux partition bigger though. However, when I went to reinstall it and use it, the UI was extremely fucked up. I have no idea why it looks like this and this is a 1920x1080 screen. Here is what it looks like. Can anyone help? In order to take the screenshot, I had to look for deepin-screenshot in the bin folder as you see in the image above. I don't want Plasma to look like this since sometimes I use it.

Have the Msi gaming 3 motherboard and when I boot up my PC it gives me a very blurry bios. When I click on settings it freezes and have to restart. In the manual the bios looks completely different. I have read this is due to the fact I Have/ got given a plasma tv. I find this hard to be true is it?

I have a 60 in 1080p 240 hz plasma tv (3D) it dose not have a displayport or any thing special it has a HDMI. it dose not have 2.0 hdmi. If i put my gaming pc up to it and play a game that goes up to it 240 will it be 240. Or even 144 FPs will look good? I have hear about that it is really not that hight of hz can some one tell me. The widely expected announcement by LG has put the final nail in plasma TV's coffin. it is expected that after this years Christmas sales, companies won't look back at plasma technology for the intend of making a Television screen.. Plasma TV Screens generally start from 720P & max out at 1080p , Screen size ranged from 30'' upto 152" & cost upto 4000$ on consumer grade & came with the Very First High definition 3D experience into Living rooms. shame, I love their plasmas, and especially some of their latest models (vt60) have been capable of dethroning the pioneer kuro. Say you have a 60hz monitor, like I do. Am I limited to seeing up to 60fps if I have a Graphics Card that's capable of going past 60fps?
