Hello everyone, First of all here are my current specs of pc: - CPU: Intel i3 2120 2C/4T 3.30Ghz, - M/B: MSI 1155 socket h61m-p20 (g3), - RAM: Patriot 8gb (2x4gb) ddr3 1333Mhz, - GPU: NVidia GT630 2 gb gpu, - HDD: 1TB WB Blue. -Case MS Falcon blue I dont play games as much as before, got work and all. Now I want to make a budget Workstation because my PC is old and its time for upgrade. I work as Web developer and want to sometime to play games like Dota2 My budget is 360- 370 euros (thats 444 - 457 dollars )I was planing to build a Ryzen system and here are the specs at the moment (in my country prices are little high and this are the prices for best cheap store in the country) Prices are converted in dollars: - CPU: Ryzen 3 2200g - 135.36 $ - I know its not 99$ - M/B: ASUS PRIME A320M-K - 61.36$ -RAM: A-Data 8GB kit 3000Mhz - 140.57$ - this is the cheapest Kit on the market the next expensive are 229.14 $ and thay are 16 GB kit, and no we dont have 8gb 3200MHz kit -HDD: 1TB WD BLUE - 52.23 $ -PSU: Raidmax RX-500XT 80plus - 38.45 $ - this is really good PSU -Case - LG LC-7034B-ON- 18$ TOTAL: 445,95 $ In conclusion I will wait to Ryzen 2nd Generation to lunch on April and make final choice. But is it smart to go for new Ryzen over my current build for Web Development and little gaming. Feel free to tell me your opinions and what you recommend for Web development , thank you. -

Hi, i'm looking for some help on what Motherboard, CPU, PSU etc i should use in my first build and how much i should spend on parts. It dose not need to be very powerful as i will only use it for browsing the internet. I'm building it as i want to practice building a low end pc before i build the high end pc i want for gaming. it needs to be inexpensive around £140 or $180 if you are in US. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

So I'm looking at building a "gaming pc" for my brother. I am try to get him something that will handle newer games like The Division, Witcher 3, GTAV, etc. So the thing is he's on a really tight budget(must be under $200) and I'm going to help him out by using as many spare parts as I can. My question is whether or not the 860k will be able to drive modern games okayish or not. I mostly play older games and have little knowledge of the newer ones. I have ddr3 ram, a 120gb ssd, an ok psu, a dvd drive(yes he needs one) and an r9 270, That I was hoping to use in this. If we go with an i3 it will close to double the cost of the cpu and we'd need to get newer ram. I am looking into used options but I haven't found any that are super good. I'm hoping someone with more experience in these things can help me out with some guidance. Thank you for reading. So here we go. We need an okay case, a mobo/cpu and ram if what I have won't work. (I'm in the us btw) Here is what I was thinking of.(he insists on "glowy" fans so I found some cheap pmw ones to add in) http://pcpartpicker.com/list/QB2Mnn

Hello! Im a new fourm user here and just wanted to ask some questions about the new PC i'm building. Its a microATX beast using some old parts from my other PC that i'm transferring to this computer(the ram and the CPU cooler). I have a few questions about the compatibility of the parts. Will the RAM work with my new processor, because I know that can have problems with the haswell series of CPU's. Also, is the power supply too small? I have a total of a 700$ budget to work with. I already have a monitor and the peripherals so its strictly about the computer itself. Here are the parts i'm currently considering buying: CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($317.99 @ SuperBiiz) CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (already owned) Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty Z97M Killer Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($124.99 @ SuperBiiz) Memory: Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory (already owned) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (already owned) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (already owned) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card (already owned) Case: Corsair Air 240 MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($89.99 @ B&H) Power Supply: Corsair CSM 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($85.99 @ Directron) Total: $619 If you see any incompatibilities or things to change, let me know! I hope to get to know the forum better in the future! Have a nice day! -J *edit I know the RAM is complete overkill but I already have it so it would be nice to work around that.

So I want to build a PC for my brother for christmas(lol not gona happen ) and i have made 2 plans, one were I use some parts I have from my old PC that arent too bad and one with entirely new parts, maximum budget is $700 with win10 included in that price but I dont want to have spend that much. The one with stuff I have: CPU: AMD-FX6300 (already have) Graphics card: GTX750TI (already have) RAM: 2x4GB HyperX 1866MHz $44 Motherboard: no clue but its M-ATX Power supply: Corsair CX500M $64 Storage: Seagate Desktop SSHD ST1000DX001 1TB $69 Case: Zalman GT 1000 (already have) OS: win 10 $109 Total: Roughly $280 converted from sek. And the one with new stuff: CPU: I5-4460 $180 Graphics card: EVGA GTX950 SC $180 RAM: 2x4GB HyperX 1866MHz $44 Motherboard: ASRock Z97 Anniversary $84 Power supply: Corsair CX500M $64 Storage: Intenso 2.5" SSD SATA III 128GB $49 + Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 64MB 1TB $49 or Seagate Desktop SSHD ST1000DX001 1TB $69 Case: Zalman GT 1000 (already have) OS: win 10 $109 Total: Roughly $658 + $100(SSD+HDD) or $69(SSHD) converted form sek. Which do you think would be the best to get? The all new stuff dosent really out preform the one with old stuff that much so im not sure on what to go with and any suggestions would be great like go with the one with old parts but new graphics or something i dont know and team red is probably a better choice for GPU but im so unfamiliar with them so i just went with a 950 also all the conversions for price are very rough but they should give you a clue. Thanks for any replies and any help!

I have just built a new PC with 4790k, 970 STRIX, 16gb Vengeance pro, and now am faced with the problem that my monitor is ages slower than my PC. My monitor is a 24" Acer G245HQ 1080p, it has a refresh rate of 60hz and a 5ms response time and its isn't an IPS panel either. So I diffidently need an upgrade, I'm mainly a gamer but I also do some photography, video editing, and some streaming. I would prefer a dual monitor setup but any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for taking a look at the post. My PC - http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/mathewcamp/saved/m28ypg

I offered a friend of mine to build him a midrange 1200€ gaming pc. We are planing to order the parts and build it in about 6 weeks. Currently I am planing the build, picking the parts, etc. I hope you can give me some input on the current selection, what you think I could do different/better. So, he wants to get into pc gaming and has a budget of 1200€ to replace his current 4-year old office computer with a gaming grade system. He already has got keyboard, mouse and monitor, so no need for peripherals, but he wants a copy of win 8.1. It should look sleak and simple, nothing fancy and be relatively quiet. Also he does not want to have his cpu overclocked. Here's what I came up with: CPU: Intel Xeon-E3 1230v3 - as he does not want to oc anyways, why not get the hyperthreading for the same price. MB: AsRock Fatal1ty B85 Killer - should complement the cpu nicely, while keeping the cost down and still getting gaming grade features like the killer nic. RAM: G.Skill Sniper 1866 CL9 2x 4GB - the cheapest quality brand ram I could find with these speeds. Storage: 128GB Crucial M550, 1TB Seagate Barracude - ssd mainly for os and the hdd for games and general storage. Cooling: Noctua NH-U12S, 3x Noctua NF-F12's - simple high performance, low noise 120mm setup. 2 fans for intake, 1 exhaust, all running on low speed. Case: Fractal Design Define R4 Black Pearl no Window - again keeping everything high quality, simple and quiet. GPU: Asus GTX 770 DCU2 OC 4GB - as he will probably upgrade his monitor soon, he wants to be ready for geater than 1080p resolutions, therefore the 4GB of vram. PSU: Corsair RM550 - again quiet, high quality. OS: Win 8.1 Pro - what's up with the pro version, can it run with more ram like with win7 prof ? I know these are all fairly luxurious parts for a 1200€ build, if you get what I mean with that. I chose these parts, because my main goal is to deliver him a premium experience. Would you rather go for a more basic 4670k, GTX 780 build and compromise some noise and cooling potential or go with this setup. Thanks for your input
