So I have an ONN 8" tablet running Android 9 which was cheap and over all meets the important but limited needs I have for it, But it has one very annoying quirk.. I use an SD card set as portable storage and anytime I move image files to it they become unreadable until I fully shutdown and restart the tablet (just rebooting doesn't work).. I already tested 3 different and known good SD cards so it's not a bad card, And tried both the default as well as some 3rd party file manager apps so I don't think it's a app bug so I am out of idea's on what I might be able to do to fix it

I was trusting asus all this time to provide a good stock android experience, but my god their inadequacy as a good oem has baffled me. How hard can it be to update a stock version of Android to pie? They delayed the update and security patches so many times, and finally when pie alpha does drop, it still has all the bugs from the pie beta. I still believe, that they can fix and redeem themselves, but in case they don't, i would like to install a reliable custom rom for asus zenfone max Pro m1. My main requirements will be dark mode, dark notifications, dark everything, near stock experience, reliability, and easy and quick updates. Which will be the ideal rom for my case? I havent had any experience with installing custom roms as well so i would also appreciate a simple to follow guide. Thank you

So it's Android One. Pie - Latest and Greatest It's killing the apps in background. For example I can't use any app locker because the app will be completely terminated and all my apps are exposed. Now I have to go and manually start the app which sucks. I was using a App called OnePlus Navigation Gesture which I like too much but it terminated the app and I was left with no navigation bar because I hid the default one. So, I have to restart the phone, go to the home screen, to the menu and then enable the app again. I used the popular "Don't Optimize" method from the battery section but guess what after a while my navigation bar poof gone. Can anyone help me out with this. Thanks in advance. I so want to use the OnePlus Navigation Gesture.

Android Pie severed the ability to have notification sounds (sounds other than a call ringtone) play over the device's speaker when corded/bluetooth headphones/vehicle are connected. So if say you have headphones connected, any notification (other than a call) is inaudible if the headphones are not in/on ear. There is no support channel I can find to submit this OS fail to Android, and I have started this petition, but in my limited circle, it hasnt gotten very far yet. http://chng.it/4WV6Dsdr I have likely oversimplified the explanation of the ramifications of the issue here. It is a major productivity killer. Does anyone here have suggestions? I have not been able to root my device, nor do i really want to go there and do that.

Hello everyone, I flashed the stock rom using twrp and then installed magisk and I haven't yet got any security patch or the stable pie OTA. Is there really a severe problem getting/installing OTAs after rooting your device or should I wait for it to hit my device? Some users on XDA also reported a few weeks back during the beta pie rollout that their phones were experiencing bootloops and other soft brick-related problems. Will that be a case for me in this stable pie OTA too ? Waiting for your valuable replies... Click here in case anyone wasn't informed about the stable pie global r/out for MI A1.

So I'm looking to treat myself to a new camera for Christmas, an interchangable lens one preferably, and I am looking mainly for advice or other recommendations on what to get. I'd like to get one for less than £300 (very much entry level) but I am willing to pay a little more if there is something that is unrivalled and far superior to other options. What I've considered so far is the Sony A5000, Nikon D3200 and Canon 1200D. I've also looked at the Samsung nx 300, but it's too difficult to get, and the original canon eos m, but the autofocus issue and lack of built in flash were what put me off. I'm leaning to the side of the Sony as I can get it cheapest, but the cost of lenses for it and the lack of a hotshoe for expandability (not a major issue tbh) are mildly annoying I'll be using it for photos primarily, largely focussing on car shows, scenery close ups and landscapes, with the occasional group/family photo. I'll only be doing a little bit of filming, largely for casual family events but I would like the ability to film a decent youtube video if required.

Okay so i was exploring Massdrop earlier today and i found the E-Element RGB keyboard, link to the drop below. My question is has anyone herd of this brand or this keyboard? I cant find anything on them at all. It looks veryveryvery nice. It almost looks like a k70 RGB clone other than the standard bottom row. Anyone know anything about the keyboard and switches and stuff???? https://www.massdrop.com/buy/e-element-rgb-keyboard?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_term=Community%20-%20Mechanical%20Keyboards%20-%20MAU%20%28Active%29&utm_campaign=Mech%20Keys%20Active%20Product%20Announcement%202015-04-12&mode=guest_open

Hey so as the title says, im in the middle of building my first gaming computer (parts list below) and i need help looking for a good monitor. I have ZERO idea on display technology and am way lost lol. Ive watched the fast-as-possibles that Linus did and am stil lost. So my question is whats a good monitor thats well under $120USD (i just lost my job and dont have a chancce to burn lots of money), preferable 22+in and around 1080p. Though i dont mind if it has a slightly lower res but it needs ti be below $125USD but i would much prefer it to be below $100USD if possible. Side note i do have a VIZO HDTV near where im going to be putting my computer and i have an extra HDMI cord would that work in a pinch? Id rater get the monitor but hey it it works lol. So. I was just browsing the web and listening to WMP without any heavy if any at all tasks in the background when my PC just shut down as if there was a power outage, except it wasn't one because I have a TV running in the same room with me right now. As "shut down" I mean sudden power loss and blank screen rather than the nice and warm Windows' shutdown. 2s after that it just booted up again as if it had randomly decided to just spook me by restarting. So motherboard splash shows up, Windows loads and just at the moment when the Windows' logon screen is supposed to show it shuts down again. This time it doesn't boot up again by itself, in fact, it doesn't boot up at all - even when pressing the power button. I flipped the PSU's power switch to off and then again to on and wiggled the PSU cord, then the PC could be booted up and all went smooth and now I'm writing this. I built this whole PC fresh ~5 months ago. I have a Corsair RM650 PSU, i5-4670k non-OCed (it's a waste, I know), MSI Z97-G45, WD 1TB blue, 2xCrucial Tracers 4GB @ 1886 MHz (at which they're also rated). I think those are the parts that matter here, and it probably isn't an overheat because, as I said, I was on minimal load and the PC was on for only 2h. I also have 4x140mm and 2x120mm Corsair fans rigged in a balanced configuration, though I'm living on my stock CPU cooler. This is probably pointless but I just want to diagnose early if there's a problem. So, is there one? Or is just a phase?

Hi! So I recently built my first rig with the MSI R9 280 GPU. Also, some time ago while adventuring on le interwebz I think I came across someone trying to get physx on their AMD GPU. Most people suggested the slideshow-like CPU powered physx, but someone mentioned using a dedicated nvidia card just for the physx effects while the AMD was doing the rest of the work. Now, I've realized that my old PC is just gathering dust as I'm not getting another monitor and set of peripherals any time soon. The old rig has an Asus GT 440 DirectCU (http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/ENGT440_DC_SLDI1GD3/) gpu and I'm wondering if I could just throw it into my new rig (MSI Z97-G45 mobo, 2xPCIe 3.0 slots at 8x/8x when used in CFX/SLI). So can anyone here walk me trough the process of setting that up? I'm pretty sure it's not as simple as just putting the card in the second 16x slot, installing drivers and enabling physx in the game (or is it? )... TL;DR How to make an nVidia GPU work with physx while a more powerful AMD card does the rest simultaneously?

So just recently, likely within the past 2 or 3 days for me, youtube videos, specifically the audio, wont stop playing when you click to a new video or to youtubes homepage. This happens on Chrome and Firefox, flash player plugin is updated in both. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if so how they managed to fix it. Its very annoying, because having to close the tab or exit out of the browser completely just to make the audio stop is a pain in the ass to be frank.

i know that there are different views on raspberry pi and i love the idea of it i had an idea that seen as they are what like £15 a piece you could get like 20 and run them in a giant cluster in a pc case, have a few 1tb hdds in there a nice power supply, maybe even an optical drive for £450 it wouldent be the best thing you could do but its a new idea and a goon conversation topic. i want to creat this with about 5 of them, whats your thoughts? ~james
