Hello I have the Phantom 410 (Black) PC case. I have a hard drive and an SSD already installed and the removable drive cage is taken out because it could not accommodate my ASUS STRIX 1070. I purchased another SSD to act as my new boot drive because my OS is still on the HDD and I wanted faster load times for Windows and some apps. Now the problem is I already used the 2 slots that were available in the bottom part of the drive cage, and I dunno where to mount the new SSD! Should I just attach the sata and power cables and leave it lying on the free area under the cage? Or is there a way I can fully remove the 5 inch bays at the top and have the removable 3.5 inch cage sit there?

So I have a gunmetal NZXT Phantom 410, and all my components have a red and black theme. I wanted to make the computer have a Sith relic kind of look, so im cutting my side panel larger, putting red leds, engraving a sith logo on the window, and painting my case to have a rustic look to it. But I wanted to know if there is a way to buy a modded side panel with a larger window to avoid doing it myself. I am also taking the three optical drive covers and painting Passion, Strength, and Power on them because those are the first three key words from the sith code. I wanted to know any cool/easy methods of giving my case that rustic old look. Any other mod suggestions are really appreciated, but nothing too advanced please. I want a sith relic look so anything star wars is cool. Thanks a bunch!

Hey guys! I was doing some cable managemente on my first pc build and I forgot to take notes on which terminal was plugged the side stock from Phantom 410 case. I have a MSI gaming 7 mobo, noob move, but everyother else seems to work except this one! Thank you!

I have a Red NZXT Phantom 410. I am looking to mod the side panel so there would be a bigger glass panel. What would be the easiest way to go about doing it on my own? My main issue is figuring out what to use to cut it, and how to get a clean, straight cut. The problem with cutting it is that the cut won't be on a flat surface. The line where I want to cut it is where the fan mount bumps out a little, and I want the cut to be straight on that line. (Look at pic for clarification). Another thing: I am also looking into getting a psu cover. Is there any place I can prebuy these, and if not what would be the easiest way to make one myself? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I am looking for a case for the build list below, that might (and probably will) change. I originally looked at the Corsair 450D as a good case. It seemed like it was mid-ranged, but still had the great looks of the Obsidian line, and it looks very good for airflow. Now I am having doubts about it, though, and I wanted some other opinions. I would'nt like to spend more than the cost of the 450D. I really like the NZXT H440, but it doesn't look like it has good airflow, and it also doesn't have a 5.25" drive, which I would like (but I guess I could live without, worse case scenario). I also looked at the NZXT Phantom 410 and I liked it, but I wasn't jumping up and down about it. Same with the CM Storm Enforcer. Any suggestions? Build list that I might change: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/YhpCFT Feel free to leave suggestions on the rest of my build list as well. Also, I am a first time builder. Thanks very much, I hope you guys can help me out!

After a few months of planning, I believe I've come up with the parts to my upcoming gaming computer, along with monitor. The question is, did I do it right? Specifically, I'm buying a Phantom 410, which I have been informed has 3 built in fans. I'll be removing the top one for the fitting on the H100i's radiator with 2 Corsair fans. I assume the airflow will be adequate without the need for more fans? PLEASE NOTE: I am aware I didn't add a PSU or a GPU to the list, as I already own both. A Corsair CS750M PSU and a Gigabyte GTX 780ti Windforce Edition GPU. Because of the GPU's incredibly large size, I'll be removing the modular drive bay for the sake of fitting, which will also take away the ability to mount a fan on said bay. Will this effect airflow to a critical level or will I be fine with the liquid cooler and stock fans as it is? I cannot spend more than the amount I have already invested, this is literally all the money I have. I am conflicted between air cooling and liquid cooling. I know that the H100i is capeable of the best temperatures about, but is very fragile and there are risks of leaking. I do not want to waste all of my money, which brings me onto the point that air cooling is arguably cheaper and can do a similar job. What do you guys suggest, liquid, or air, and why? And if air, what is the best to buy? Maybe the Cooler Master V8 GTS? Without further ado, here's the list: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/3CwR5 If there is anything I can do to improve, or you have any suggestions, please, feel free to suggest. I am totally open to all constructive opinions. This is only planning, obviously. I'll be using this computer mainly for gaming and music production in late September, possibly the odd video render here, maybe not at all. All in all, if I were to buy the listed parts above, and combine them with my already-owned PSU and GPU, will I be on my way to a fantastic experience, or am I about to dive into a pit of wasted money and efforts? Anyway, thank you for any help you may be able to provide.

OK Im going to tell you how to reduce the dust in your PC if you have the phantom 410. First remove you top 140mm fan. Second, move it to the side panel. (this may be kinda har you have to cut some tiwst ties and move some wires. 3rd, Aply sticky velcro stuff to the 4 corners ov the vent on you side panel like so: Thern cut out and filter material (im using a carbon filter we had lying around) to the shape of the whole. Put it on and your done! It should look like this:

Hi Everyone, This is, Project Greyscale This is a build that I've been meaning to do for a while, it's not a new build, in that most of the parts are sourced from my current rig, but it'll all come together to something quite nice. I think I'll split up my posts, but I think I should be able to finish it in 5 posts: Intro Case modding to fit 360mm Radiator Parts installation Cable Sleeving Final build and wrap up Introduction Components: CPU - Intel Core i7 3930K w/ Waterblock GPU - AMD Radeon R9 290 w/ Waterblock RAM - 16GB (4 x 4GB) Patriot Signature Series Motherboard - Gigabyte X79-UP4 Case - NZXT Phantom 410 - Black Storage - 2 x Intel 520 Series 120GB SSDs in RAID 0 PSU - Undecided Phobya G-Changer 240mm Radiator w/ Noctua NF-P12 x 2 XSPC EX360 CrossFlow w/ XSPC Xirrulian Fans x 3 Some light justifications, I went went with the 3930K because I wanted some raw CPU power, also, it's not actually that much more than a 4770K, around $200 or so more, so it's not exactly expensive for something that will last me a long time. The R9 290 is just excellent value, much better than the R9 280X for not much more and not that much worse than the R9 290X for quite a bit less. Also considered a GTX780, but I want this to be a litecoin miner during its idling time. Originally, I had intended to go with the MSI X79MA-GD45 inside a BitFenix Phenom M for an mATX build, but I found that mATX is quite restrictive in terms of expansion slots. I have a large table, but I don't want a dwarfing full tower there, so I decided to go with a mid-tower and make my use of space more efficient. I will be removing the rivets that hold the 5.25" bays in this case, so I can fit a 360mm radiator on the front. It will be a tight fit, but if I can't fit it, then I'm happy with changing to a 240mm radiator on the front instead. But going this route instead of mATX allows me to keep my X79-UP4 and make use of an abundance of expansion slots. The highlight of this build, I want this build to be a greyscale build, meaning that there will be no colour. The inspiration for this is the X79-UP4, which is a greyscale board: The interior and exterior of the black NZXT Phantom 410 is also all black, with a white fan. I'm intending to sleeve cables in "carbon fibre" which is sort of greyish, so that will fit in well. Now, there are two problems I have to deal with - i.e. two components that are NOT greyscale - the RAM and the Noctua Fans. The Noctua fans I can fit on TOP of the case (under the mesh), so it can't be seen. The RAM, I've decided to cover the heatsinks with automotive carbon fibre vinyl wrap, so this stuff: Hopefully that turns out okay. Anyway, without further ado, here are SOME of the parts I'll be using, some aren't in this pic and some (i.e. that Phantom 410) hasn't been bought yet, so I'll get round to that. Pics will be here tomorrow, having a few camera/PC troubles. Case Modding Okay, so first thing first, I don't think it's possible to fit a 360mm radiator in this case without having to do some serious modding which will probably reduce the structural integrity of the case, so I've changed plans. Instead of going 360mm + 240mm, I'm just going to go 240mm + 240mm, realistically, temps will probably be like one degree higher. Now, I also have some other options, so maybe someone could give me some advice. I could go for a 280mm radiator up the top, but I would have to buy new fans, as I have 120mm fans (heaps), but no pressure-optimised 140mm ones. Alternatively, I could just add a 120mm radiator on the back, so I'll have 240 + 240 + 120mm, i.e. same as what I originally had planned, but I don't think that would be worth the money and it would make the tubing runs more difficult. Anyway, without further ado, this is a bare NZXT Phantom 410: So, there are a few things that I have to drill out rivets to remove, so that HDD cage at the bottom and the 5.25" bays: So, the end result, we have this: Looks like quite a spacious case after removing all the unnecessary things, now time to fit a 240mm radiator in the front with two Noctua NF-P12 fans. There are quite a few reasons as to why I decided to go with the NF-P12s rather than the NF-F12, mostly to do with the F12s only being available in PWM. The Phantom has an inbuilt fan controller which is good enough for my needs. Also, the P12s are quiter than the F12s. I'm not aiming for the lowest temperatures by any stretch of the imagination, as long as I can run a 4.5 GHz overclock without breaching 75 degrees, that's good enough. There's no difference between 70 and 75 degrees, but quietness does matter to me. Now, this was the part I was discussing before, it can fit in a 240mm or a 280mm radiator, and I'm honestly still tossing up between the two, but I can't see ANY benefit in going with the 280mm at this stage. So yeah, looks like I have to go and order a radiator for the top now, it's pretty much impossible where I live (in Melbourne, Australia) to find a shop which I can just walk into and buy watercooling components. Time to get the tools, cables and stuff out and get ready for motherboard installation. (I've actually already finished, but pics are uploading, so I'll post an update as in a few hours time). My table looks like such a mess now! Thanks for tuning in everyone! A Little More Modding and HARDWARE TEST FIT! Sorry about the lack of updates everyone. Anyway, I've made a few changes. Installed a bit of the hardware here, just to see how it all looks Routed the 24-pin! Now, I want some hard drives in my build, so I have to ghetto mount a hard drive bay in order to accommodate my two 2TB drives in RAID 1 for "off-network" data storage. This is me just holding the bay in place. Did some drilling and bolting. I'm afraid that the vibrations might make it noisy, so I added some glue at the bottom to dampen, looks ugly, but nobody will ever see it. So now we have the two HDDs installed! So this is a shot of what the system looks like now, took out the hard drives (back in my current system cause I need the data), the pump has also been installed! And an overall shot of how it looks now. Thanks again for looking, next time, I'll be installing the 240mm radiator in the top, fitting in all remaining hardware, adding waterblock to the GPU, installing addon cards and finishing off my loop. Then it's just to fill and test! Next update, will be a small interim one, as one major change has been made since. I'm still awaiting one final fitting, that's why that one tube is still not hooked up, but anyway, I've coloured the annoying purple capacitors on the motherboard black. I think this makes them look better. Some more shots of the build, the resevoir is on the table, I'll screw it on when I get round to filling it. The white fans look pretty good, thankfully they were included with the case, so I didn't have to do too much purchasing. The same two white fans up the top, the capacitors here have also been coloured black, I think it's a much better look, especially once I clean up the RAM, maybe paint them black. Pump connected to the base of the res with a 90 degree M-M fitting. Black capacitors, I did try to make the RAM look black from the top, but don't think that went too well, so I'll be trying to improve that over the next week. Just another shot. With the window closed. Where I'll be putting it, the Noctua fan can't really be seen, so I guess it can stay there, it's quiet, it moves a lot of air, it's a good, high quality fan that I paid quite a bit for, so it'll have to do. Don't have the heart to be replacing it right now. Also replaced the PSU with a TX650 this morning, so more shots coming in soon, it looks much, much cleaner and I'm starting to really like how this build is coming together. I'll be starting on a mining rig soon, featuring the Coolermaster HAF X along with my HX1000 PSU, which was way overkill in this build anyway. There are a few things I really like about non-modular PSUs though, given that I can just hide the cables I don't need out the back, but realistically, there is only one molex harness and one PCI-e harness I don't need, so not like that is a whole lot anyway. But they do look more "low-profile" or stealthy compared to modular PSUs because they just have all the cables coming out the corner directly out to the cut-out hole for the PSU cables, so there isn't so much mess as a modular PSU. Also, I can't take lighted shots any more because I've finalised all the cabling behind the back so I can't just plug the lights and fans into an external PSU to just turn them on. When the time comes to fill the loop, I'll just unplug the 24pin ATX from the motherboard and short the pins. Anyway, that is my little rant about modular PSUs, I'm sure they have their place. But pictures coming soon. I'll have to get an external light source for the time being.

Hello, community. I've been looking at building my own gaming PC for a little less than a year. I've nerded out over the past ~12 months, and learned a lot. I knew nothing when I started, but my new no-life obsession has changed that. Finally, when I saw some sales last week, I started buying. There's no turning back now. I bought the NZXT Phantom 410 in gunmetal and black, the Asus M5A99fx Pro R2.0, and the Thermaltake SMART SP-750PCBUS power supply. This will be my thread. I'll update when I get more parts and start building the thing. In the meantime, what should I name it?

So a blade broke off on my Phantom 410 stock fan. Can I just leave it like that, and everything will be okay? it's my only front intake fan atm. Here is what it looks like (sorry about the dust): http://i.imgur.com/96180cx.jpg?1

Okay guys, I'm going to be building my first computer in maybe two weeks or so, and I would love some opinions from people who I'm sure know a lot more about this stuff than me.. My main dilemma I'm having now is whether or not to overclock.. My build as of now is as follows: Case: NZXT Phantom 410 Black/White ($90) CPU: Intel i5-4460 3.2 GHz ($190) MoBo: ASRock H97 Pro4 ($81) PSU: Corsair CX600M ($65) GPU: Gigabyte Windforce R9 280X (Which I'm getting for $250 from a friend, so this is pretty much set in stone) RAM: G.Skill Ares 8GB (2x4) ($83) HDD: WD 1TB Caviar Blue 7200RPM ($60) OS: Windows 8.1 64bit ($100) This all adds up to just over $900 dollars, which is what I'm trying to keep the price floating around. Now if I were to overclock, I'd upgrade the 4460 to a 4690k, keeping it in the i5 range. Then I'd have to upgrade the H97 Pro4 to an ASRock Z97 Pro3, which in total results in an extra $70 for overclocking, not including an aftermarket CPU cooler that I'd definitely want/have to invest in once I start to overclock. Peripherals/Accessories: Monitor: ASUS VX238H-W ($170 - $160, it keeps fluctuating) Keyboard/Mouse: CM Storm Devastator Bundle ($30 because it's not a huge priority for the time being) Orange Bitfenix Alchemy Cables ($42) Orange NZXT LED Cable ($10) Xigmatek XOF 120mm Case Fans x4 - Orange ($30) BTW, I'm going for a 'Pilot Luke' kinda theme here (Weird, I know) with the orange and white and bits of blue. I plan on getting a Rebel Alliance vinyl on the side of my Phantom with the window, and maybe doing some other things to spice it up and make the theme believable. But that's purely aesthetic. So what do you guys think? Should I sink some extra money (if I even have it) in to overclock? Is it worth it? I'll be mainly using this computer for some gaming, some modeling, using simulators (which I guess is as intensive as gaming) and a bunch of other things, so it's hard to say what I want it "optimized" for, but if anything I'd want it to be optimized for gaming. Thanks!

Any thoughts? I am looking into new parts for a build of about $1000. I am waiting for Haswell to come out and I am probably going to stick a GTX 650 Ti Boost and get another one later on. All that is really left is the case, I prefer a case with good airflow and good compatibility with a wide range of radiators. Any comments on the Phantom 410 would be great or if you have any other suggestions for a case at about $100 that would be appreciated. Thanks guy!
