Hi all! It might be a stupid question, but I'm a newbie, so bear with me. So currently I have my work laptop connected with a single USB C cable to a docking station that provides power, peripherals control and monitor output by connecting the laptop charging adapter, HDMI and keyboard and mouse usb cables respectively. I will soon build a desktop PC that comes with a USB C, and now I'm already starting to imagine how the switching scenario between the two PC's would look like. My plan is to connect the desktop PC's graphics card with the monitor using a DP cable at all times. And whenever I want to switch from my laptop to the desktop PC, I would disconnect the docking station's usb C cable from the laptop, connect it to the desktop PC's usb C port, and swtich the input source on my monitor to DP. And I'm wondering: - has anybody done something like this before? - would this fry anything, i.e the desktop PC, the charging adpater and/or the docking station if I kept the laptop charging adapter connected to the docking station? Hi Linus friends sorry if I am doing this wrong, this is my first time on the forum just to ask for help. Without blasting all of my friend, Isaac's, business here is what you need to know: he's in his early 40's and is going through his second recurrence of brain cancer. The tumor is on his motor strip which has paralyzed his right side almost completely unusable and now has to relearn to live with only his left hand while still working full time to pay for his treatments. There is some good news in that I guess his cancer is a mutation so it's more susceptible to chemo which changed his prognosis from a terminal sentence to being hopeful that he'll be able to pull through again. However the doctor said he probably won't ever get his right side back and if he does it will be very limited but we can only find out after his treatment. So I've been trying to find stuff to help him to game again since he isn't left to do much else. Right now his limited to games that only need the basic point and click with mice. I bought him Frostpunk and This War of Mine but besides those all he's been able to play is Sid Civ 6 and Among Us. Sorry for the long intro but wanted you to know what I'm working with here. Right now he's been using a logitech G300s but I was hunting though some old Linus vids and showed him the Keymouse from the vid "This KEYBOARD has a BUILT IN MOUSE" which he seemed interested in but he was concerned that it might still require the right half to function properly and the $500 price tag. We live in the USA btw. So I was going to try and convince a couple friends to all pitch in and buy it but got stopped by the fact its sold out and $500 split five ways is a lot for something that might not work. So I was looking at stuff like the Razer Nastromo, Razer Orbweaver, Razer Tartarus and Delux T9 but none of them have built in mice and the ones that have the joysticks that would enable him to play other genres of games again still require a mouse in the right hand. So we managed to find this "Gaming Mouse with 5 D Rocker, TRELC Ergonomic Mouse with 10000 DPI/11 Programmable Buttons, RGB Vertical Gaming Mice Wired for PC/Laptop/E-Sports/Gamer" on Amazon which meets the joystick and the mouse, it only has 4 buttons including the standard left and right click and it's only right handed. So where my research is coming up not very helpful I'm hoping the Linus family can help my friend out. Does anyone know of anything that might help him play some of his old games again? I was thinking of getting the Glorious GMMK White Ice Edition keyboard but I wanted to change some of the keycaps on the board to match my setup theme. I don't know much about keyboards so I don't know what type of accent keys I have to get that will fit on this type of keyboard. Also what are the best coiled keyboard cables?

I'm looking foward to buy a VR Headset for racing simulation but I don't know which one to choose. There are major differences in price points between them. And also I have some dudes because I only want it to be pluged in to the computer and just use the hedset so for example in the valve index, do I need to buy de handset and the tracker for the specific thing I'm going to use it for? Im trying to connect my Xbox 1 controller to my pc using a wire and I’m thinking it should just be as easy as plugging it in. Is there any steps im missing because its not working.

so my current situation is that I have an desktop PC for both gaming and 3D work and a laptop for school. i will be moving to a new house in a few weeks and i will have a lot more room for my setup, and i was thinking about making some sort of laptop dock so i could use my 2 displays and my other USB peripherals when working on school. the devices i would like to use on both devices: USB keyboard USB mouse 2x DisplayPort monitor (1x 1080p and 1x 1440p) optional USB webcam USB mic USB headset dongle USB cable for USB hub on main display i know i need an KVM switch of some sort but I don’t know a lot about this stuff. i also would need to connect my laptop to a charger but I don’t know if that is possible trough a KVM switch specs pc: CPU Ryzen 5800x GPU 3070 TI 6x USB 2.0 4x USB 3.2 1x USB 3.2 type C laptop: model: Acer Swift 3 SF314-42-R1B6 R7-4700U,16/5 1x USB 2.0 1x USB 3.2 1x USB 3.2 type C 1x HDMI (the USB 3.2, USB C and HDMI are all on one site) I hope you can help me with some information or advise.

So I recently bought a Redragon K550 Yama. I downloaded the software and It was working for awhile till one day it just stopped, the issue is that it wont open. I have tried every solution I could find on the internet. It seems no one else has my issue. I have uninstalled/re-installed the drivers, Tried updating it, completely deleting the software and re-installed it, running it in compatibility mode in win7 and win8. Even tried a sometype of console thing. If anybody knows something I can try I would appreciate it, I cant use any of my F keys because I wasnt finished setting the macros the software stopped working.

I really like my mouse but the scrool has this weird thing where it's, well, the best way to describe it is tiered, and it's super annoying compared to normal scroll wheels. Is it possible to modify it to use another mouse's scroll wheel? mine is a utech venus smart gaming mouse, wired version.

All at once my connected devices such as, headset, mouse, keyboard, mic, and speakers will all do this "stutter" type thing. I have tested all the devices separately, uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers, updated bios to the latest version, validated all system files are working, and whipped my drives. I'm on Windows 10 64bit. As well as on a newly build PC (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cTbmC6)

The major issues appear when I stream through discord, but there's notable other errors when recording my games (have not tried streaming on twitch yet but I feel more errors will occur) The game is league of legends, and whenever I stream my game I get weird bugs ONLY when alt-tabbing, if I stay in the game window it does not happen. I will get a weird consistent "crackling" sound bug on my audio and most importantly, if I stay alt-tabbed long enough, my peripherals (M&K) will start bugging and either straight up disconnecting and reconnecting themselves or will be unresponsive for a few seconds. The peripheral bugs will stay until I manually unplug and re-plug them. When recording there's no issues (except the sound bug happening as the recording starts, so only once). The video seems completely fine, but if I share a clip through discord and play it back there it seems really laggy. My guess is this is some issue with discord but I can't tell what is causing it. I also seem to never go below 36% memory usage (36 at idle with no apps open) so I am unsure if that's related. Hi, Im new here and after looking around for a bit I coulnd't find any thread about this. I've been gaming for as long as I can remeber and for a few years now I've had these razer headphones, though they are starting to tear and have become very uncomfortable. Im not a tech expert or any of the sorts but I was interested in knowing if there are earbuds that are suitable for a competitive shooter experience like Rainbow Six for example and listening to music that will not break the bank! Hi, I need help choosing a new gaming/everyday keyboard. The one I'm currently using is an MSI VIGOR GK30 but i want to upgrade. I'm open to recommendations for anything that's good. preferably it's a full keyboard with media control and a detachable wrist rest. If you can help I'd appreciate it. Thanks y'all.

Yesterday I was palying perfectly. Today I turned on my pc and started to not recognize the keyboard, I unplugged thinking maybe it is the USB port and switched positions with the mouse, neither the mouse nor the keyboard worked so I restarted the pc and none of the peripherals worked: headset, mousepad (rgb), mouse, keyboard. Restarted the PC again and even and the monitor didn't recognize the signal. Turned off the PC and disconnected the power cable from the power supply, then waited for 1 min and connected it to turn it on. Everything worked fine but when I opened Apex it crashed and the screen froze so I restarted and again no video output, no keyboard, no mouse, no mousepad, no headset. I don't know what to do. Please help.

After upgrading PSU It now stays on post asking to press f1 to run BIOS recovery. I cannot press F1 however so can not get past posting specs: I3 71001050ti2x 4gb ramAsus H110m-k micro-atx motherboard(Upgraded to)Corsair VS 550 watt PSUThe keyboard is reciveing power when plugged to the pc and works connected to a laptop. I have also tried plugging it into every USB port on the mobo with it being the only thing plugged in.( it does say there is 2 keyboards plugged in if that is important) I have reinstalled the original PSU and another spare I have and there is the same result. I have taken the battery out of MOBO to reset it. I have doubled checked that everything is correctly plugged in and it seems to be. Finally, there was nothing wrong with the previous PSU so dont believe anything should have shorted. Thanks in advance

Hi guys, So I've been wanting to get a mechanical keyboard for a while now and have been looking at some options. Browns are what I think would suit me as I don't want to be too loud but want the clicks, and also my budget is around $150 AUD. I have had some options bookmarked that I would consider to be a good fit. CM Storm Quickfire XT | Brown ($125) Das Keyboard 3 Model S | Ultimate Brown ($125) Corsair K70 | Brown ($140, Low Stock at a store near me) I want to get Cherry switches because I know that they're good quality and I would preferably not want to get a TKL. I am leaning towards the Das keyboard just because it is so sexy and everyone likes it, but the K70 is also a good keyboard all-round and the price is really a steal, there is also probably some form of warranty/return policy because they are a physical store, so I may have to look into it. I just wanted to talk with anyone here and see if there are other cheap options, or which keyboard is better quality for me. Thanks
