MY SPECS: WIN 11 I5-11400F RX6800XT PHANTOM DUAL OC 16GB DDR4 2433 1TB SSD after updating my gpu and reinstalling my os my cpu perfomance is noticably worse. previous gpu was rtx2060. In some cases its fine, and in some cases its way worse. in valorant for example i was hitting around 200-220 fps consistently with my gpu being the one bottlenecking my cpu, but after the gpu upgrade my perfomance is way worse, oscillating aroun 140-200fps with my cpu being the one bottlenecking my gpu, while on the same, lowest settings, the same applies to cyberpunk for example, with my 2060 i was able to reach 70fps with dlss, with the gpu holding me back, but now i cant get stable 60fps with my cpu claiming it is at 100% usage, what i have noticed lately is that msi afterburner reports only 60 70% of usage max, never more while amd adrenalin and resource manager both show 100%. the cpu clocks and temps are fine, also the threads are being used, but i am 100% sure im getting worse perfomance after the upgrade with my cpu being the weaker part, where before update i had better perfomance with gpu being the weaker one. Any ideas what could be the cause/fix it?

Its an Asus laptop (thin and light)(X510UNR) with 8th gen intel i7-8550u and an MX150 graphics. It used to give me good enough performance and I was happy with it (CS:GO ~ 100 fps low quality, l4d2 ~ 90 fps high quality). After a good 2 years where I stopped gaming and got back into it recently, any 3D game just does not run smooth. Lots of stutter, frame time lag, 60+ avg fps but unplayable from hitches. Snooping around on Hwinfo I see that the cpu takes in only 8 watts (P1 power limit) and never goes to the 45 w (P2 power limit). P1 and P2 are supposed to be short term and long term power usage. Another thing, I had always seen that the the cpu core would thermal throttle (expected of a laptop) but recently the cpu throttle because of 'power limitation'. This was definitely a new behavior. Core temperature also does not seem to go above 80 C. (not as I remember) Its confusing trying to pinpoint the problem as my laptop still reaches its boost clock (3.5ghz) games still give me 60+ fps (w/ stuttering) The only thing changed about my system was a ram upgrade and an windows 11 update.

Hi, I have a MSI KATANA GF76 12UGSZOK-631FR laptop (i7-12650H, 16Gb RAM, RTX 3070Ti). Today I turned on my PC to play some GeoGuessr on my browser, and as I was playing, I got 2 BSOD (I've got W11 Pro) : - CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT - HYPERVISOR_ERROR I decided to do some check-ups: - I checked my memory with MemTest665, I ran 15 loops and there was no error - I did some prompt "Chkdsk", "DSIM /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth" "bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype auto" etc... There was nothing - I checked my drivers with the integrated verifier, no problem at all - In my device list, no yellow think that would say that there's a driver error - I updated a motherboard driver and a Intel Graphics After all those checks I didn't dare to try out a new GeoGuessr game, that crap scared me. I still found that my PC was incredibly slow. I booted up Cyberpunk 2077 and the game was running at 30fps!!!! Before today, I played the entire game (around 80 hours of gameplay) at 80-90fps! And the settings of the game were not reset. My PC lost performances for some reason and I don't know why! I also found out that my PC shuts down and boots up very slowly now. I didn't installed anything the last days, or maybe just the Kung Fury game on Steam, but I doubt it's the cause of all that! I'm so scared right now, please help me, I put a huge chunk of my savings in this laptop... When the PC boots up, I only have Steam, Spotify, Edge, the MSI and Intel thingy, Discord, SteelSeriesGG and 2 (I assume) Windows thing. On idle, my PC is using like 8Gb of RAM I noticed. My CPU is used at around 15%. Please help... Minidump.zip

I'm planning on getting a new gpu soon, but I don't want to overshoot on performance because I think my cpu will bottleneck if I go too high-end. My cpu is the i7-10700F. My top 3 picks for a gpu right now are the RX 6700 XT, the RX 6750 XT, or the RTX 3060 TI if the prices drop after the release of the 4060 series. I'm heavily leaning towards the 6700 XT or 6750 XT because the price to performance just seems better than the 3060 TI. According to pc-builds' bottleneck calculator, the 6700 XT would be a good pair for my cpu with just a little bottleneck on cpu intensive games. The 6750 XT, however, shows more of a bottleneck all around. I'm wondering if that's something I should really be concerned about, or if I should just get the 6750 XT for the extra power if the price is right. Someone smarter than me please help, thanks!

Hey everyone! I was recommended posting here after mentioning the performance issues I was having in Star Citizen. First off my system specifications: GPU is a RX 580 8 GB CPU is a Ryzen 5 1600 I have 16 GB Ram And 1 SSD as well as 2 HDDs I am also on Windows 10 Alright, so I've been having quite severe performance issues for a few years now (I got this rig sometime in ~2016), beginning with Minecraft, where I was unable to run the game with shaders at more than very unstable 40 FPS. Now for some reason I can run shaders just fine at smooth 70 FPS now, which I assume is due to an update to optifine, I still get massive lag spikes in MC, with or without shaders. Now more recently: I've been playing a lot of Star Citizen and I noticed that when moving the game to my SSD it took up over 120 GB despite the file being only ~72 GB. CP 2077 did the same thing for a while. I temporarily fixed that issue by reinstalling windows, it is now back though. Aside from that I get less than stellar fps, at about 15 to 30. Other people with the same setup seem to be able to play the game normally, whilst I can hardly dock a ship without crashing. And my CPU and GPU aren't even close to 100%. I have tried nearly every trick I could find: power settings, optimizing windows and Radeon software, reinstalling, overclocking, etc... Currently I am running the game at a lower resolution with AMD sharpening, min settings, affinity set to what this guide recommends (https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/50174/thread/developers-hate-this-boost-your-ryzen-performance-) and having the game set to high priority. I am getting ~25 fps in the station but very unstable FPS everywhere else that range from 15-40. I would like to add that I can play Battlefield 5, Anthem, Valheim, rdr2, CP2077, and any other game just fine. Or at least not drastically worse than expected. Thank you for reading, I hope you have a great day! - Demo

Hello, Just asking out of curiosity, I understand that most old games only use a single thread. Correct me if I'm completely wrong about this whole thing, but clock speed of the CPU is proportional to the performance of the game (that is if there's currently a CPU bottleneck). I also understand that individual cores can have different clocks from the rest of the cores. So is there a way of super clocking one core and assigning that core for the game? One method i thought of if single core overclocking is not possible, or viable, is using an unlocked 8 core cpu as an example, in order to achieve high clock speeds I could deactivate 6 cores and really crank up the clock speeds, higher than the speeds that I would get if all cores are active. Therefore I would get better performance for a single threaded game, right? How viable is this option?

Hi. This is the first time i am doing a pc upgrade for myself, and i am looking for some information, help and advice. I plan to do my upgrades in segments, firstly CPU, motherboard and memory where i will start of with 16GB and upgrade that to more in the end if needed. Then at a later time i want to do a storage upgrade . And when graphics cards are available again i am going to get that last, preferably a RTX 3070 of some kind for the games. So for my first upgrade i am wondering what kind of performance boost i could expect to see from a newer CPU, motherboard and memory alone before the full upgrade is done, GPU and all. My computer is exclusively used for gaming. No streaming or other heavy workloads. For reference here is a list of the games i play the most (Runescape, Trackmania 2020, The Witcher 3, Battlefield 4, Valheim and Total war games) Would i even notice a game performance boost from CPU and memory upgrade alone in titles like these, or does that only come from a GPU upgrade? I know some of those games could almost run of a potato, but i would like my desktop to handle the heavier titles well. specially battlefield 2042 when it comes in the future. Preferably i would like setting from the high medium range to high with decent frame rates on a 1440p 144hz monitor. Also if this info is enough for an educated tip from any potential readers. What CPU makes most sense for me to go for, the i5-11600 or i7-11700. Or something totally different maybe? PC specs before upgrade. Intel Core i5-6600K ASUS Z170-P ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 6GB DUAL Samsung 850 EVO 500GB HyperX Fury DDR4 2133MHz 2x8GB CL14 Corsair RM750x 750W PSU Thanks in advance for any tips

Hello, GPU upgrade question.. from Sapphire Radeon RX 580 8GB Nitro + on MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z 6gb worth in terms of streaming/gaming at the same time? Will it withstand 2 gb less? CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Box MB: Asrock Fatal1ty X370 Gaming-ITX/ac RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4-3000MHz (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15) PSU: Seasonic Focus SGX-650 650W 80+ Gold SFX Monitor: LG 24MK600M-B Monitor 23.8" FHD Streaming software: OBS/SteamElements I know the RTX 2060 has better gaming performance (it also has GDDR6) but the RX 580 has 2Gb more VRam which I think is better to play more new games that will require memory for textures and the memory bus is 192bit of the first while the second 256. I also stream simultaneously from the same pc at 936p60fps-1080p (video output) from 1080p almost high settings and I have about 88 fps in COD Worzone with 580 8GB. So I'm afraid with the RTX 2060 6GB it might not stand the same. Is it worth upgrading from 580 8GB to 2060 6GB?

Hey. I recently upgraded from a 1070 ti to a 3070 so i can play cyberpunk. Cpu: 2600x Ram: 16gb 2666mhz For some reason the cpu sits at 65% and gpu at 20% (even weirder is that cyberpunk is at 0% and nvidia container is at 19%) Could this be a ram speed issue or what is going on? Thanks in advance

Hey all, I bought a laptop (Acer 5) equipped with an I7-10500U (4C 8T @ 1.8Ghz baseclock), 12 GB ram and an MX350 2Gb. Thing is : I mostly play Runescape on this laptop (the only game light enough to played there). Somehow, when it not plugged in, it get better FPS then when it is plugged in. I can clearly see on the MSI afterburner thet the GPU clock hits pretty close to 1500Mhz while on battery and barely 1000Mhz when plugged... Something is wrong... I don't know what. Plz help. Thank you. A stranded fish.

Hi I recently bought a second hand Linksys AC1200 (EA6200-2014 model) to use together with my ISP router. I connect the Linksys using an Static IP, DHCP disabled trough LAN and my 5ghz network and wired works perfectly, reaching my ISP 350mbps download. But on the 2,4ghz I am getting 1-5mbps down with 20-25mbps upload (makes no sense to me), like 1-2m (3-6ft) from the router. I already tried the usual: Firmware upgrade Channel change and a few more things, but same results. There are no interference sources near the router and very few other wirelles networks close to it, on my ISP router i get 30-40mbps on the 2,4ghz 4m away from the router with easy. Tested on my laptop and two android phones, same results. Any sugestions? Or this may be a hardware issue? Best regards

Hey everyone I just wanted to know if i should switch out some parts of my pc rig, that i've been using know for almost 10 months! It's weird. Especially when im streaming my perfomance isn't that good (With OBS and Streamlabs). I've already optimized my settings and ofc im suing the "new nvec" encorder for nvidia GPU's. Sometimes my games feel choppy... and sometimes they don't feel that smooth (If you're mainly playing on pc you probably know what i mean). I dont know if anything is throttling my pc or if somethings wrong with the mainboard or the ram or whatever. This is a problem i've been experiencing now for a while and it's driving me nuts xD My Rig: - Asus ROG Strix 3070Ti OC - AMD Radeon 5900x - Corsair H150i Elite LCD 360mm - Asus ROG Strix X570-F - Corsair Vengeance RGB (2x16) C18 3600mhz - Seasonic Prime GX-850W - Samsung 970 Evo 1TB - Samsung 980 Pro 1TB - 10 x Corsair ll120 RGB Radiator Current Updates: - Chipset Driver: 4.06.10.651 - Geforce Experience: 516.94 - BIOS: 4403 - Windows 11

My pc : cpu: i3-7100 2cores 4threads 3.90GHz old gpu: gt 710 1Gb new gpu: Rx 6600 8Gb psu: 450watt bronze+ ram: 1stick 8Gb 2133 ddr4 Motherboard: asus z270-A I decided it was time to upgrade my pc to play new titles so the problem is that in all games i have under 60 fps at any resolution and graphics settings .. meaning i have the same fps at 720 low with 1080 ultra The gpu never goes above 40% usage and drops to 0 in game For example when i was using the gt 710 at total war medieval 2 i had 40 fps average with minimum drops ... now with the rx 6600 i have 50 fps with huge drops ... Even at leauge of legends the fps go from 30 to 120 all every 2 seconds Is there something wrong with the hardware ? bottleneck? or there is something else going on Thank you for your time

Which is better for pop an its apps an in-conjunction with wayland ENABLED - AMD Ryzen 7 3800X or AMD Ryzen 7 5700G my new rig is almost done an im going with a 3900x for that one but for my older rig has a re-fit in order both rigs will have a 6700xt gpu an 64gb of ram but my older rig still runs on a 2600x which is fine for decent gaming for me but now its going to be just a mid/high ter editor rig an with some apps not having or utilizing a dedicated gpu for gpu acceleration but could benefit from but are more cpu bound would having a apu act as a work around or just be a benefit in these areas , to be clear i didnt care as much before as i did only mid editing an was more towards games that did use the gpu but now moving more towards editing an wanting a little more ump out of the rig an its apps i want to up the cpu but which is best for the purpose an fyi my mobo is the aorus b450m which still works fine paired with a arctic freezer II 120MM AIO an all noctua industrial fans an a mobo upgrade is not in the immediate plans but a total gut will be way later on for now its just a cpu upgrade - my specific apps i use HANDBRAKE KRITA CELLULOID INKSCAPE kdenlive Avidemux BLENDER Luminance HDR Hugin Art of Illusion BATCH CONVERTER imgp appleseedhq an will mutter benefit for enabling hybrid graphics an having a dedicated gpu these are all apps i have an use but would i notice any decent performance boost with these apps using the 5700g over the 3800x paired with a 6700xt that has to do with the integrated graphics an not because its a 5000 series over a 3000 series

Hello everyone! I've been looking at my control panel settings lately, and am trying to figure out how to use them to get optimal gaming results. I've heard conflicting advice on what to choose for which settings, or whether to change them at all, and was hoping you all could set me straight I got curious about this, because I've switched from playing on an Xbox one to a PC, and although my resolution is slightly higher, the Xbox one can put up very high frame rates with literally zero tearing on games like Forza Horizon 4, and from everything I've read a GTX 1650 D6 is better than the "gpu" the original Xbox one has. Attached are screenshots of my current control panel settings. Thanks in advance!

Which mouse is best for competative fps games like CS GO? 1. Razer Abyssus V2 2. SS Rival 100 3. Logitech G203 Prodigy 4. Fnatic Flick These are all cheaper mice and all of them I can find in my country. My hand size is 18cm x 9cm. I use hybrid palm and claw but claw is usually when I am lifting mouse to much. Tnx for helping guys and does anyone have experience with Fnatic Focus mouse pad cause it is cheap but reviews are good.

I have an AMD FX 8350 4.0ghz 8cores, 8GB of ram, a 980DE3/U3S3 R2.0 mobo, Tacen MARS 800w PSU, and a Sapphire r9 280x vapor-x tri-x and I really have bad perfomance on CS:GO mostly, on the rest of the games I have more or less the performance you should get with my pc. Also, I cannot use the 100% speed of my CPU since it overheats and restarts my computer (and that didn't happen at first when I assembled my pc in February), I did everything I could (cleaning the entire pc, changing thermal compound on CPU, updating bios and reformating my pc [Haven't touched any of the settings from the BIOS tho]. I dunno what to do.

I am looking to purchase a new laptop and wanted some help on figuring out what specs I should be looking at or considering for best web browsing performance. I typically have many web windows open at once for long time periods for web browsing and I am not a gamer. I know cpu speed, cache, # of cores, play a big role but I wondering what other specifications are relevant?

Hi, I'm looking for the maximum performance, And I don't know that much about GPUs but I've been looking into getting the "Best" And I came by the: GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Zotac AMP! Extreme http://www.game-debate.com/hardware/index.php?gid=3859&graphics=GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Zotac AMP! Extreme Which seems the best GPU on the market, With its clock speeds being: Core Speed 1645 / MHz Boost Clock 1759 MHz But it's rather bulky and large so I kept looking for something from the same clock speeds and came by the: GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gigabyte AORUS Xtreme Edition 11GB With its clock speeds being: Core Speed 1607 MHz / MHz Boost Clock 1721 MHz It seems less bulky. And before buying, I checked with a friend and he told me the: evga geforce gtx 1080 ti kingpin But this card has a clock speed of: Core Speed 1582 MHz / MHz Boost Clock 1695 MHz so I am at a loss what to get?.. Any tips,

Hey guys, I was just wondering which GPU would be the minimum for a 3700x to run it without any bottleneck. Thanks for your help.
