Motherboard: Asus TUF Gaming x570 plus wi-fi CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900x The motherboard has 2 x PCIe 4.0 X16 Slots the 1st slot is occupied by a NVIDIA RTX-3070. There are Dual PCIe 4.0 M.2. I am utilizing both of those M.2 with NVME SSD's I have two additional 2TB NVME SSD's I would like to use, however, there are 2 M.2 on my motherboard both are occupied I would like to utilize the 2nd PCIe 4.0 X16 slot with an adapter to enable the two other NVME SSD's. Any recommendations as to which adapter card will accomplish this? Any BIOS settings that need to be set? Any information to help me with this is very much appreciated

I'm looking to at ASUS PRIME B460M-A R2.0. This is the board : https://dlcdnwebimgs.asus.com/gain/16d8a2b2...75f7bb75//fwebp I've RX 570(x16) and wireless adapter(x1). The motherboard have four expansion slots; 1st PCIE X16 - this is full x16 lane and connected TO CPU. 2 x PCIE x1 - BUT i won't/can't be using any of these x1 slots for some reason(s). Bottom PCIE X16(ONLY by length) but operates at x4(even on the picture, it doesn't have full metal pins across it), and connected VIA CHIPSET - i checked the spec from Asus web. Now, if i install the wireless adapter(x1) on the bottom x16 slot, will the first x16 slot operate at full x16 mode OR x8 mode? I was told, in general, if both x16 slots were occupied(usually SLI/dual gpu), each will work at x8 speed only. But in this case, i'm confused since the second slot is at x4 speed and via chipset. So, can anyone explain to me ? *I'm sorry if say wrong things or understand something wrong. It's just a question and i'm not a pro it guy, educate me pls. Thanks in advance.

I apologize in advance for the long post. First of all here are the specs of my build: MB: Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite; CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600; GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2060 Super Ventus GP OC, 8GB; RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 3200mhz CL16 (2x8GB); SSD: Intel 660P, 1TB, M.2 NVME; PSU: Corsair 550W 80 Plus Bronze CX550. This setup worked fined for many months with the graphics card installed in the x16 top PCIe slot, until a few months back, when I was installing a new CPU cooler and had to remove the GPU to make it easier to fit. When I installed the GPU back in the x16 slot, I forgot to plug in the GPU PSU cable before powering on the system. I quickly realised this, shut everything down, connected the cable and tried again, but was unnable to get a post. The VGA LED on the MB was also on when powering on, indicating a problem with the graphics card. After some panicked googling I tried reseting the CMOS, reinstalling the RAM and a bunch of other things that did nothing. After a while I placed the GPU in the bottom x4 slot and the system powered on and posted normally. Installing it again on the x16 slot still did not work. This, along with some forum posts saying that turning the system on without the PSU cable connected to the GPU could mess up the internal circuits of the board, made me think the problem was with the MB. To confirm the GPU was fine, I tested it with a friend's system and it worked fine in the x16 slot. I then sent the MB to Gigabyte to fix the problem, but according to them the board was working fine. They ran some standard tests and sent it back to me. I then sent it to them again claiming the issue was still present and they said once again that the board was fine, and even sent me a video of a graphics card installed in the x16 slot and the system powering on and posting. I have also tried updating the BIOS (including the GPU's) and even reinstalling Windows, with no success. The only thing I haven't tried is installing a different graphics card in the x16 slot myself, since I don't have access to one, but the video from Gigabyte proves it works with a different GPU. I have been using the pc with the GPU in the x4 slot, but the performance in some games is not the same... I don't know what else I can try to do to figure out what is wrong.

I need a PCIe x4 to PCIe x16 adapter, It will need to connect a Nvidia GT 1030 to a PCIe x4 slot also is a GTX 1660 super (using PCIe x16) with a GT 1030 (using (PCIe x4) a good pair? This is for a upcoming upgrade for my PC with a B365M DS3H (rev. 1.0)

PC: { --MB: Asus H97 Pro Gamer, --CPU: Intel Core i5 4460, --RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 4GB DDR3 1866Mhz * 4, --GPU: Asus Dual Gtx 1060 3GB, --SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 500GB (sata), --PSU: Thermaltake Smar SE 630w } Current(Upgraded) PC: { --MB: Gigabyte B450M DS3H, --CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600x, --RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 3000Mhz * 2, --GPU: (Same as above), --SSD: (Same as above), --PSU: (Same as above) } Now to the problem, 1 year ago I bought new cpu/mb/ram (I bought an Asus Prime B450M-A(CSM) back then), installed everything and ready to go but my mb beeped in a certain pattern which I then realized it meant it had gpu problems, I then sent the mb to warranty company, after a week they said it was some bios problem and now it's fixed, brought home the "fixed" mb, tested it, but still didn't work so I moved everything back to old pc (Because I needed(!) to continue playing games) About 8 months ago me and my uncle(he has some computer knowledge) went through testing it again, I don't remember what we tested exactly, but probably every basic problem solving method, There existed a weird problem, my 1060 worked fine on the h97 mb, but when I connected it to the Asus B450M-A mb it didn't even post, even keyboard's numpad(trying to turn it on) didn't work, I connected a 9500 gt graphics(Which I believe is full length but uses pcie 2 x8) card to the mb and it worked fine (weird) .1 month ago I even tested connecting 2 PSUs(630w + 500w) at the same time to upgraded pc ( 500w to cpu and mb, 630w to gpu), problem insisted except time time keyboard was working!. Yesterday I bought the Gigabyte mb because I was pretty sure it was mb's fault. Previous Asus B450M mb had only 1 pcie 3 x16, the new one has 1 pcie 3 x16 and 1 full length pcie x4, more room for testing.I said to myself "Ah sht, here we go again" and started changing mb ... same problem, so I moved the graphics card to the lower pcie x4 slot, aaaand it worked (However I couldn't connect most pin-related stuff to mb because the gpu was covering them, I had to power on the pc by using a very thin screw driver :S ). I also updated new mb's bios and gpu's bios(!). So here's my "Question", why does my graphics card works on the old h97 pcie 3 x16 and on the new Gigabyte's pcie x4 but not on neither Gigabyte nor Asus(new one) pcie 3 x16 slots(Not working: no display)? P.S. Here's extra hardware I have access to: { Geforce 9500 gt, Geforce 7100 gs(!), 500w psu, Samsung 128gb sata ssd, 2 sata hdd } P.S. My 500gb ssd has Debian 10 on it(The one I'm currently using(and writing this post on it)), and the 128gb has Windows 10. Thank you in advance.

I am experiencing reboots when the PC case is shaken slightly or even when the table is shaken slightly. Removed my GPU and the PC works fine without it, no issue of RAM, not yet tested the Power supply. So my first guess is that the issue lies somewhere between the GPU and the motherboard. When I insert the GPU without screwing into the bracket , the system beeps (not normal boot beep, the best I could describe it as 2-3 beeps on top of each other) with no display, but when I screw in the GPU so that there is no sagging and slightly vertically inclined, it boots up and I get a display. Due to this i think that it's either that the PCIE x16 slot has became loose and cannot make full contact at all times or the GPU contact pins have worn off. I do not have an extra PCIE x16 slot to test my GPU unfortunately. U can see in the pics attached that the PCIE x16 slot has more gap between the upper and lower pins. While the PCI slot which I had never used has a tighter gap. While browsing some forums, I heard from someone that the GPU contacts should still be functional as the layer beneath the gold plating is also conductive. Any suggestions are welcomed. Hi guys, I recently bought a GeForce GTX 1080 for my system. Before, I had a GTX 960. I would like to use both GPU's so that I get some added mining hash power. The motherboard I use is the Gigabyte Z97-HD3. It has 1 PCI-E 3.0 x16 slot and 1 PCI-E x4 slot. The PCI-E x4 slot is shared with the x1 slot in my system, so when I have a network adapter in the x1 slot, the x4 slot will not work according to the manual. I plugged the 1080 into the x16 slot because that is the faster slot. I then plugged the 960 in the x4 slot. I installed the drivers for the 1080 but the computer does not detect that the 960 is even connected to the system. All hardware connections are correct, it is powered. In the manual, it says to make sure to set PCIE Slot Configuration (PCH) in BIOS setup to x4. I cannot find this in the gigabyte bios menu. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey Guys, I have a Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I wireless card that I've been having a little trouble with. Whenever I put it in a PCIE x1 slot on my MSI X370 SLI motherboard with a Ryzen 3 1200, the board will not recognize it. However, if I put it in a PCIE x16 slot, it works just fine. It's not the end of the world because I have 2 extra PCIE x16 slots that I can use for it, but it would be nice to know why the PCIE x1 slots aren't working. I'm not sure if there's a setting in the bios that I'm missing or what. Any help is appreciated!

can I use my GTX 1050 Ti(in my pci 16 slot) and my pci x1 with a zotac 710, simultaneously?? I am new to PCIe's. I do not own a 710 but i would buy it if the 2 cards run togerther. It is not for gaming purposes only to plug more monitors.

Hi, i have a Dell Optiplex 7050 MT, I would like to drop in a graphics card into this thing. The problem is that I was looking at something like an Nvidia 1050 TI, but need extra room for it. Unless I put at the end where a PCIe x16 (wired x4) slot is. Is that possible or will it work but with significant slowdown? I only have a PCIe x16 (free), PCI (sound card occupied), and at the end is a PCIe x16 (wired x4) (free). Thanks. Or should i get a usb sound card to make up room? Thanks.

Hello, I've recently updated BIOS to 0802 on ASUS Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC) and GPU seems to have started running at "native x8 link speed." It used to always run PCI-E 3.0 @ x16, but now BIOS, GPU-Z and CPU-Z all show that it runs PCI-E 3.0 @ x8. Running GPU-Z render test or UNIGINE benchmarks doesn't help. It still shows PCI 3.0 @ x8. Clearing CMOS, reseating vid card didn't help. Running BIOS at optimized defaults didn't help. I'm running out of options here. Do you think I "broke" the mobo or vid card somehow or is it the BIOS issue. I hope it's the latter one. PC is only a month old and I had no issues with it until the recent BIOS update from 0505 to 0802. Here are my specs: BIOS: 0802 OC'ed? Hi, I like to know about wich Raid controller card is the best for SSD's. I'm looking for a Raid card that is optimised for running multiple SSD's in Raid 0. A card that are pcie gen 3 x16 or pcie gen 3 x8, have 24 or 32 sata III ports and have trim support. I'm also looking for an SSd that is perfect for raid. A very reliable SSD with very good garbage collection and with a lot of storage.
