I need help, I need to make something that's similar to VMware or Vmbox etc. but physical version. Like mounting 10 motherboards into custom rack, each with cpu. and every single one of them running separate OS. How would it be possible? what about PSU, would every motherboard need it's onw? etc. I'm thinking about doing this because as far as i know there isnt a way to have many OS running at the same time on one PC without using any VM software. Any ideas?

Budget (including currency): 1000 USD (flexible) Country: Bosnia and Herzegovina Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Solidworks - larger assemblies, simulation and rendering, Autodesk Eagle and AutoCAD, Games - titles like Elden Ring, The Witcher 3, Assassins creed Mirage etc. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Case, monitor and peripherals are excluded form this budget. I'm planning to play at 1440p at the most, targeting above 60fps. My idea was building with Ryzen 5600X and 3060Ti but I'm would like some advice, or if someone has ideas on better performance for value parts. Thank you in advance.

Hello everyone, I'm on the hunt for a specific computer case that holds sentimental value for me. It's the one I used to build my first computer, and I'm hoping to find another one to use for my next build. The case in question is a NZXT GUARDIAN GRN Green SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case. If anyone has this case sitting around and is willing to sell it or knows where I could find one, I would be very grateful. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

So I'm kind of new to the pc building scene, and I'm looking for stuff to use when I build my first pc. For example stuff like a parts tray, anti static strap and mat, magnetic screwdriver and whatever, but I don't know where I would get all of this. Please can someone help me with this since it would be extremely helpful. (I'm in the UK btw). Sorry if this is in the wrong category, since I didn't know where to put it.

I'm pretty sure I shorted my motherboard and tested it with a different PSU and there is no power whatsoever. I have a 2nd desktop and tried swapping individual components in hopes it wasn't fried and it was just a single component not working. I started testing the RAM and took a good stick and put it on the fried motherboard and obviously it didnt work. I started panicking when I tried to put the good ram stick back in the 2nd desktop it wouldn't boot. I am terrified about using that RAM stick again cause when I looked it up online half of google says RAM can short your motherboard and the other half says it cant. My goal is to take any components that can still be used and use those to build a new desktop. Can anyone tell me if I can use or safely test components like the SSD, HDD, RAM, GPU, fans, in a new build? Thank you for your time. EDIT for clarity: It is a Gigabyte Z370p D3 motherboard, Intel 15-8000 series CPU, G-skill RipJaws DDR4 ram, Corsair CX 550m PSU. I plan on taking it to a repair shop tomorrow and having them test the components. I made this post because the guy kept repeating that in his 20 years of experience that you can use RAM even from a shorted board with no issues. And that was a red flag for me.

Hello, I am looking for recommendations on good specs for an office pc (literally like running google sheets and programs like that). Now, I’m familiar with gaming PC building, but I have no idea what CPUs and what not is overkill for an Office PC. I am wanting something that is going to run at least 5+ years without slowing down and what not. Any tips would be great. Also, here is a list I created, please let me know if its overkill or not. Thank you!

So, I would like to get into pc building, the thing is I'm not a huge fan of gaming. although I would like my own Gaming Pc I really think I would enjoy pc building. so on to the question: How can I build pcs for fun, but put them to no use? in other words maybe Pc Selling, but i only have $200

It's as the title suggests, and with the uncertainty of the prices of pc parts, especially with AMD and 40 series right around the corner. Should I buy some of the 'minor' pc parts like RAM, storage/SSD, psu, etc; buy those now while the prices are low and wait to buy the major parts (CPU, GPU, motherboard) when it releases? Or wait until the time after release to start buying (all) the parts? In my case, I plan to upgrade when Ryzen 7000 releases since my pc will be 6 years old by that point. I dont need the pc yet, but I figured I might as well take advantage of buying some of the parts now while prices for some parts are relatively cheap/decent. Buy some now and buy rest later, or buy everything later?

I've been planning to build a PC and have a huge upgrade from my previous one , i now own a razer blade 15 GTX 1060 for the past 5 years or so, and prior to that one i had built a GTX 1070 PC. I currently need help to find the best parts for me , i would consider my self a casual gamer who likes to play modern games, but i am also a working student in Communication and Media. So I'll need a PC around my budget , which can operate in both worlds, in gaming and editing. Thank you Budget (including currency): 20000mop Country: Macau SAR Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Elden Ring, Modern Games , movies , film editing, Photoshop , Illustrator, VR - Half Life Alyx Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Current monitor : ROG 32 inch 244 Hz curved . Parts : I'm looking to builder with Ryzen 9 5900x or equal , GPU RTX 3060 , 32 gb ram , AIO cooler , mother board (it was recommended to me ) ROG strix . Budget (including currency): 4-5k Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Ranging from normal games like Minecraft, Roblox, Overwatch, Sims 4, to playing rhythm games Like Osu, Sound Voltex etc. horror games, fighting games like Vampire Savior, JJBA heritage for the future, and plenty other genre of video games along with doing digital art on multiple art programs like photoshop cs5, pain tool sai, and clip studio paint (along w/ some animation programs.) I wanna use my pc for doing digital art at home and I'll use my laptop when I'm on the go traveling or at conventions. Other details: Here's my Pcpartpicker list so far. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8ckhNc Questions about my build. The case So two cases I kind've can't choose between is the Antec Torque and the Cougar Conquer. I feel attached to the Cougar Conquer since it took me a lot of time to find it. (I first saw it listed on AliExpress and it got taken down before I was able to image search it. After some time I was able to find it again and I was really stoked to find it again. On the other hand I really like how the Antec Torque looks too and is a tad bit cheaper than the Cougar Conquer and is 1 rating point better on Amazon but both are equally cool looking to me. Links for Cases Conquer Cougar https://www.amazon.com/Cougar-CONQUER-ATX-Gaming-Case/dp/B0759PNHX8/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1U5NEO9MYPDMC&keywords=cougar+conquer&qid=1671391614&s=electronics&sprefix=Conq%2Celectronics%2C544&sr=1-2&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.c3015c4a-46bb-44b9-81a4-dc28e6d374b3#customerReviews Antec Torque https://www.amazon.com/Antec-Black-Aluminum-Computer-Torque/dp/B07HG9KZVX/ref=psdc_3012292011_t1_B0759PNHX8?th=1 Tubing I wanted to make a heart loop for the tubing but I don't know if using soft tubing or hard tubing gonna provide better results for such a shape. Good news tho is that I do have tubing in mind I want to use for the build (I just don't know whether to choose soft or hard tubing.) Links for tubing. Soft tubing https://www.microcenter.com/product/406880/primochill-primoflex-3-8-(10-mm)-x-1-2-(13-mm)-advanced-lrt-tubing-10-ft-crystal-clear#tab-reviews-bm Hard tubing https://www.microcenter.com/product/474179/primochill-3-8-(10-mm)-x-1-2-(13-mmm)-petg-rigid-tubing-12x-30-clear#tab-reviews-bm Fitting I don't know what fittings I should use for the tubing I've picked out. I wanna use bitspower fittings specially their deluxe white fittings but on the website I can't tell if their fittings are for soft tubing or not? Also I still don't fully understand how fitting measurements work so I can't tell if the tube will match the fittings and vise versa. Cooling method Deciding on whether I should do Aio or custom water cooling. While I like all the perks of custom water I'm kinda intimidated by the maintenance process. I already don't have to much knowledge or faith in myself on building a water-cooled pc, let alone understanding and remembering the procedures and process on how to maintain one. It also seems kinda like a big hassle but I think if I knew how to do it I wouldn't be so deterred. Painting Eventually when I get my motherboard, pc case, and psu I wanna spray paint em. (or prob have someone else paint them for me cause while I've seen videos on how to do it I don't really trust myself to do it without fucking anything up. Also for Tamiya Color Polycarbonate spray paint do I have to sand my case and use a primer for Tamiya pain or can I just go in with the spray can. Also can I just commission/pay someone to paint the parts for me? I might do it on my own when I get my parts but... I also might feel more better to have someone else do it for me lol, I've been trying to look in different places but I can't find anyone that actually does so. Water block For the Graphics card I wanna get the Asus ROG STRIX WHITE OC GeForce RTX 3090 If I go the custom water cooling Idk If I should get the EK Water Blocks Edition of ASUS G-Force RTX 3090 water block or the Corsair Hydro X series XC& RGB White CPU Water Block. Coolant I wanna try to get pastel coolant so I was thinking about getting the EKWB EK-CyroFuel Premix Solid Cloud White and the EKWB EK-CyroFuel Red Dye and dying the coolant till I got a pastel pink color coolant I'm satisfied with but I don't know if that would work or what.

I have a small dilemma and while i'm generally pretty good at picking out pc parts for myself I always like to have a second opinion when i'm stuck. In my current pc I have a 500gb crucial sata 6gb/s ssd and two wd digital blue 1 tb hdd's. I'm slowly running out of space but I plan on building a new pc anyways so i'm not super worried about the problem right now. Seeing as on my current pc i'm running out of space I don't want to have that problem again. So my first option was 2 1tb m.2 crucial ssd's and 2 Toshiba p300 3tb 7200rmp hdd's in raid 0 (ssd's not included of course i'm new to raid but i'm pretty sure that wouldn't work). That would give me 8tb of storage hopefully more than future proof. However knowing that the amount of data I will have laying around and considering as i'm leaving college and hopefully getting into the work force soon (and may have important files I need to make sure I don't lose) I figure I need some kind of redundancy for 8tb's of data. So my next option that i'm heavily considering is 4 of the previously mentioned Toshiba p300's in raid 5 (offering redundancy and an extra tb on top of the ssd/hdd combo approach). In short if I go the raid 5 route with no ssd's in the system with the theoretical 3x read speed improvement from 4 drive raid 5 and no increase to write will I see a noticeable decrease in system performance than if I did most of my working on an ssd based system. If so is it possible to salvage the performance in any way such as intel optane (curious if it works with raid)? Or would it help to throw in a 128gb boot drive for system files only? Any help would be greatly appreciated as i've never actually set up a raid array before so performance numbers are kinda up in the air for me also what is the best way to go about raid 5 is it best to take a software approach or is there hardware that is better for it? Sorry for the long read i'm just really confused. Thanks in advance.

I'm fairly new to the world of custom pc building and I'm looking to build my own rig. I think I have a solid understanding of what I'm looking for in the various components with the exception of the motherboard. What should I be looking for in my motherboard? What makes a motherboard good or bad? If someone could help me out or direct me to a video or anything that could help me it would be much appreciated.

I feel fairly well versed in the PC building department, but nonetheless feel like some input from other "techy" people would be a good idea. I'm going to be building a PC for a friend in a week or two, and he has a fairly tight budget, $500-$675. This rig will most likely be used mainly for gaming, with maybe a little bit of homework. The build is going to be including a monitor, as well as a keyboard. Here's what I've come up with so far... PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZJn94C Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZJn94C/by_merchant/ CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1400 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($149.99) Motherboard: Gigabyte - GA-AB350-Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard ($59.99) Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws 4 series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($72.99) Storage: Seagate - BarraCuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($29.99) Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB ACX 2.0 Video Card ($129.99) Case: Deepcool - TESSERACT WH ATX Mid Tower Case ($39.99 @ B&H) Power Supply: Thermaltake - TR2 600W ATX Power Supply ($44.99) Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link - Archer T4UH USB 3.0 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter ($19.99 @ Amazon) Monitor: Sceptre - E248W-1920 24.0" 1920x1080 60Hz Monitor ($99.99 @ Amazon) Keyboard: Logitech - K120 Wired Standard Keyboard ($9.99 @ Best Buy) Total: $657.90 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-10-08 10:33 EDT-0400 I'm planning on pushing the CPU to around 3.8GHz, does that seem reasonable? With tax, that's pushing around $725 at our local Micro Center, so it's already beginning to max out the budget. The primary use of the rig will be gaming, as mentioned before, but specifically Rust. Unfortunately, he wants to play Rust, but doesn't want to spend a lot of money on a good system . The addition of a GTX 1060 6GB is in question, but that will really raise the price. What do you guys think?

Hi. I'm new to PC building and all of the meanings/differences between each bit of hardware. I want to build a budget video editing PC for probably around £250 or $335 by getting most of the parts pre owned. I'll only be doing basic 1080p video editing on something like Sony Vegas but also web browse, Photoshop and I'll be using Ableton Live 9 for creating music. 1) I'm stuck whether to get an Intel core i5 7500 or a AMD Ryzen 1500X since I want around 3.40ghz with at least 4 cores. 2) I don't know which motherboard to get or what is compatible with either one of those processors but i don't need any fancy features as i would only be editing 1080p content. I just want one that won't have any problems and that supports the Processor well. 3) I would preferably be getting 8gb of ram or possibly 16gb 4) I've been told the Nvidia GTX 1050 is good for video editing but it will take up most of my budget, since I'll only be doing simple video editing cheaper alternatives would be helpful 5) I'm not sure how to calculate which power supply to get but I know i'll be using a USB Powered Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 with Behringer MS40 220 volts speakers plugged into it. Any help/advice would be very much appreciated
