I'm asking on behalf of a friend. He's recently been facing a black screen issue, whenever he plays GPU-intensive games like Horizon Zero Dawn, Genshin Impact, RDR2. However, this black screen doesn't occur when he plays games like Paladins or COD4: Modern Warfare. This problem doesn't happen all the time. Whenever he starts a game and walks around the scene for 5-10 minutes, the FPS starts decreasing and the game stutters. after 10-15sec his PC goes into a black screen. However, the CPU and case fans are still spinning. And there's no way out of that black screen until he force restarts it. His GPU driver and everything is UpTodate , so it must be a hardware issue. But we're not sure which one it is. His PC specs are as follows: "Ryzen 5 3600 CPU 16GB (8+8) RAM GTX 1660 Ti GPU MSI B450M-A PRO MAX Thermaltake Litepower 550W PSU" Temps are within limit <75C, Even though I'm suspecting the PSU but we're not sure, Any idea what is causing this issue?

Hey! So Recently my PC has been freezing after I quit games like Battlefront II. The lighting on my ICue software stops working and the windows system gives out. I am still able to navigate through the taskbar but all of the programs and functions are gone. I ran the memtest86 and used DDU to install new graphics drivers. I recently enabled DOCP in my bios so my suspicion is in that, or the psu. As a side note I have also been experiencing crazy coil whine on my 3090 and I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. System Specs: Ryzen 7 5800x RTX 3090 FE Trident Z 64gb 3600 Corsair RM850x ROG Strix x570 e gaming

I can still move the mouse and sometimes maximise windows that are already open but i cannot minimise anything and close anything. The only way to restart is a hard restart as when i try to do it via start menu it just hangs on the spinning circle of restarting. i believe i am hearing a kind of humming noise coming from my pc which kind of goes loud and quiet so to speak, but i have changed my cooler and unplugged my gpu and that still persists. Could this be my PSU and could this be causing my issues?

So I've had this issue for quite awhile, and no matter how much i google and look through posts on forums, i cant seem to find a fix. My pc will randomly freeze, sometimes it makes a buzzing sound from the speaker, but other times the pc itself just makes a small noise, as in its loading something perhaps? I've tried figuring out where the sound comes from exactly, but i cant figure it out. This issue happens randomly, can happen when I'm playing a game or when I'm just watching Netflix, so under heavy load aswell as when my pc is idle. I THINK it started happening after i got a AIQ cooler installed, but I'm not too sure, and i cant try without it or anything, since I don't have another cooler laying around. First i thought it could be a broken windows install, so i tried formatting, but it kept happening. I tried to reset everything to default in bios and i updated everything too,, so now I don't know what else it could possibly be, except for hardware. I'd appreciate if anyone could help me with this, as it's really frustrating, and I've lived with this for a long time now.. Below I added a screenshot of speccy, and if any other information is needed, please let me know, and ill try to provide it.

I have been getting this issue since last month. My pc randomly freezes and screen goes black. Without hard reboot it stucks like that. After rebooting my display driver temporarily disables itself and after another normal restart the pc works normal until the next freeze which randomly occurs. The issue doesn't happens during specific app or state, it is completely random, sometimes when i browse through internet via chrome, sometimes when its idle. I've sent my motherboard(tufb550plus) and ram sticks(4x8gb3200mhzcorsair) to the service and they didn't find any problems. I don't trust the service's work since they only updated bios and sent it back to me but i already updated the bios before i sent the motherboard to the service. So i think problem might still be motherboard but not sure. I also stress tested both gpu and CPU and they seemed working fine at leat for 15 minutes under stress. I repeatedly did the test and didn't get any errors. I also replaced all the drivers and even i reinstalled a clean windows. I don't have any spare parts to replace neither so i am confused which part to replace first. PSU: Corsair RM750 80+ Gold CPU : ryzen 5 3600 GPU : rog strix rx 5600 xt Motherboard : tuf b550 plus Ram : corsair 4x8 gb 3200 mhz ddr4 M2 ssd : james donkey 500 gb And i am using two screens one of them is msi g241 (main one) the other one is old samsung led monitor(vga socket so im using hdmi switcher). Note: i have been using this setup for almost two years and i didn't get such erros but after i moved to new apartment the issue started. Only thing that changed was my apartment. A friend told me the power instability might be the reason for this kind of issue but i am not sure about this either. So please help if you have any idea. I am running out of options and replacing the whole system one by one is very expensive for me at the moment.

Hello, ill try to put all the info i got untill now. so.. I had recently chaged my sistem with a i9 9900k and an ASUS 7370M AORUS GAMING MOTHERBOARD and an card that runs Perfect before an RTX2070. So far was everthing ok, when i was playing in a rainy day and i heard a thunder, and the lights wen out. After this, i come back later and was everthing playing ok, when another lightning hit far (believe me i was on discord with a friend who live in the same city and only listen it by the call) and the PC FREEZED only restarting by holding the button, after this ever wen i play an intesive game it freezes after a while, i started to monitor the temperatures and realized that it aways freezes wen reaches or passes 80degrees celcius, with exception of one or two times wen it was at 75, i tried everthing internet give me so far, system checs, memory checs, storage checs, updating drivers, and now reinstaled windows intarly. Nothing has changed. It is probably a damage caused by the lighning but i dont want to believe, so if somoene can help me ill realy aprecciate. more: some other things i did to test it was chage the card with an gtx960, didn,t freeze. And put the RTX2070 card in the old system and played RD2 at max settings for more than an hour and did not freeze, at this point i start thinking im very very dumm and probably put incompatible hardware into my system. waiting for help please, next step is to contact eter an professional suport or the energy company. PS: sorry by my english im Brazilian and dont tipe very well in english.

Hello LTT forums, I have an issue. So i've been troubleshooting an issue for my PC, my pc freezes and recently restarts while playing video games, it's a frustrating issue, this has been happening for a while. I have no idea what it is, here's a list of the steps i've done. WHAT I'VE DONE: Reinstall windows, a lot of times. Replaced PSU with high quality one. RMA motherboard RMA GPU, which did fix the annoying fan issue, I thought this was originally what was making the freezes but no, still have them. I actually don't freeze while playing games with the on-board graphics when I was testing that. It's odd. More fans, even though it's not a heat issue. Tried to solves some of the blue screens I got that involved bad drivers, no fix there either. memtest86 tests with ram, no errors there hdd tests with the seasonic tools, no issues resetting cmos, no fixes tested with prime 85 for 48 hours, no issues there either update bios, no fix update drivers, no fix ran with no anti virus programs, still no fix sfc/ scannow no errors re-seated hardware, and still, no fix Any help is accepted, I just really want to fix this issue and completely enjoy my pc, thanks.

Hello, When I am playing a game on my PC, sometimes it randomly freezes up and the whole system becomes unresponsive. I can't even move the mouse or do ANYTHING. Why is this? It only happens under moderate to heavy loads. The only game that seems to work ok is Minecraft. Answers are much needed! Please save me the trouble and money going and buying a new parts for my system if all possible! There are a few things that I know are NOT the problem: 1. Dust buildup/Overheating. I just dusted my PC a couple days ago.( still freezes up) And it wouldn't be an overheat because if that were the case, the computer would shut off, not freeze. 2. SATA cable loose. Sometimes my PC has trouble identifying or recognizing the hard drive when it boots up. Like I said, it only freezes under load, and I can do anything from watching u2be to just typing and it doesn't freeze up on me. Hey all, So I've built my new PC, and installed windows 8 64bit, and was just installing software/drivers, and I managed to install all the software I needed and like 2-3 drivers and then all of a sudden when I try install a driver the PC completely freezes (can't even press alt+ctrl+del) I've still got a good 8-10 drivers to install, and it just doesnt let me. I've ran 3dmark.com test and that was all fine. I also ran memtest86+ for 40mins and had no errors (I think I need to run this overnight, 40mins is nothing?) PC Specs: i7 4790k Asrock Extreme6 Motherboard 16GB G skill ripjaw ram Asus Strix 970 Graphics card Crucial MX100 (250gb) SSD (Running windows off this) I'm not too sure why this is happening - how should I proceed?

I have had a custom built for my friend recently: i5-4590 8x2= 16GB Kingston 1600MHz CL9 memory MSI H97M-G43 MB EVGA GTX 980 Corsair VS 650W 80+ PSU Zalman Z11 Plus 1TB Toshiba HDD Sandisk 128GB Ultra SSD I had two instances of computer freezing. I couldn't even reset the system. I had to hold the power button to shut down and then restart again. I checked the minidump file from C:\Windows\Minidump but couldn't find anything. Is there any way I can find the error that caused the freezing of the PC? Any debugging options that I can use? I really don't know how to analyze minidump files but I couldn't see any being created. Any suggestions as to what I should do to find out the error causing this? Notes: The bios is up to date. Windows is newly installed. Games are running from D:\ Chipset, GPU, sound, etc. drivers are all up to date. Windows is up to date. Windows Memory Diagnostic Test is done, no errors. ***Edit The freezing usually occurs when playing GTA V online. OP: Windows 8.1 Pro x64
