I will make this short, I am planning a new build and is planning to get a 10G Nic as well for my new pc. The only concern i have right now is the motherboard i picked. Will a B650 be fine with a 7900 XTX and a 10G nic or will it see bottlenecks in terms of lack of PCI-E lans? The last pc i build was 6 years ago. So my knowledge is kinda useless now days.

Budget (including currency): Not exactly unlimited but very high. Soft limit 80 000,-CZK or USD 3550 - although if I can save on some parts I will not be upset. More money for a better monitor Country: The Czech Republic Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 4K gaming (Baldur's Gate 3, Halo Infinite, Skyrim with 2000+ mods, heavily modded Minecraft, Factorio, Satisfactory... Gothic 1 xD) and programming (secondary focus) Other details I want to get 5090 once it comes out (unless the pricing will be horrible... which it might be...) - either way, I want to get a 50XX card. So the GPU in this build is a bit of a placeholder. I currently have RTX 2070S 8gb - which would be alright until that time except I will be upgrading to the Alienware AW3225QF once it comes out in my neck of the woods. So I need something capable of okay 4K gaming so feel free to suggest a cheaper alternative that would still be capable of that. Silence! - I'd like this build to be as silent as possible. That affected the choice of the case as well as the cooler and the fans. I reason that with more fans they will cool the PC more efficiently so they will have to spin at lower RPM, thus being quieter in general. I know some cases advertise maximum silence, insulation, and all that. But from what I heard the airflow there is really restricted. So your fans end up working overtime to cool the PC. I'd like to hear your suggestions in regards to that as well - how to make this build as silent as it can be given the high-end power hungry components? Note in regards to PC parts stores: the most popular shops for PC parts are: CZC, and Alza (those are the most popular, but there are sites like Mironet and Tsbohemia. You could also use Herueka - not really a seller but it should show you all of the shops that are selling that thing and their prices). I like CZC the most so I am mostly using them. Everything except the PC case that is not available in their shop. PC Part List: CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D - Seems like a strong choice for gaming as well as programming. No CPU bottlenecks for me. CPU Cooler: The legendary Noctua NH-D15 - BARELY fits in the case lol (according to max cooler height) MB: ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI - AMD B650 - a lot of IO, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth... Considering downgrading this one a bit maybe. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are required though. Any suggestions? GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 4060 Ti VENTUS 3X 16G OC, 16GB GDDR6 - as I said, a bit of a placeholder before 50XX. Any suggestion for a cheaper card that would fit the criteria described above? I want something good enough for now that wouldn't be too much of a bottleneck in this build. Just not sure where the balance is so I think I need a bit of help with this one. Storage: Main: 2x Kingston SSD FURY Renegade, M.2 - 2000GB - Primary Windows install as well as primary game storage Work: Verbatim Vi3000, M.2 - 256GB - secondary Windows install with work-related stuff. Doesn't really need more than 100 gigs of storage tbh so this will definitely be fine Extra: WD Blue SA510, 2,5" - 2TB - Photos, Videos, Movies, Series, games I don't launch that often... RAM: 2x G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6400 CL32, černá - some games such as Factorio benefit a lot from RAM speeds. And 64 gigs seems to be alright for the high-end price to performance, right? (I know, kinda weird talking about price to performance here but... you know what I mean. More than 64GB starts to get extremely pricy) Question. Can I reach the max clock with XMP? Is there something I am not seeing where I would be capped at a lower speed? PSU: Be quiet! Dark Power Pro 13, ATX 3.0 - 1300W - I am really unsure about this one. As I said I want to get a high-end 50XX card in the future, but for the build right now 800w PSU would be enough. Do you think I should go for 800w instead and then upgrade to a new PSU in the future? But that wastes both time and money (buying a new PSU as well as time to re-cable everything) - I hope to avoid that with the 1300w PSU. So even if the 5090 would consume more power than 4090 (you need 1000w for that one right?) I should still be covered. But if it would require more than 1300w (oh gods help us) then this would be a waste of money. Either way, I want a high-efficiency PSU with the increased power consumption of this build. PC Case: Fractal Design North Charcoal Black - Open-air case with a lot of cooling opportunities. What is not to love here? Cooling: (See Silcence! paragraph above please) 4x 140x140 Noctua NF-A14 iPPC-2000 PWM 4x 120x120 Noctua NF-F12 iPPC-24V-2000 Q100 IP67 PWM I assume I will need something like a fun hub / splitter cable, right? I am not really sure what to get though Lastly, I want to thank everyone in the community who decided to help me now as well as all of those who helped me with the PC builds in the past. I love the LTT forum ^,=,^ you guys are awesome!

Budget (including currency): anything under $2800 Country: U.S Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: School Work, gta, any fun steam game, osu, AAA games. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I've bought everything besides the ram GPU Ssd case fans CPU cooler psu and mb. Im just making sure everything looks okay or good in a sense. This is my first-ever build attempt and I'm a little rocky so help me out. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bgZjvj

Hello! I have a PC I built in 2017 that I plan to pass over to my partner, so she can use it to do photo/video editing, 3D modeling, and game with me. I will then need to build a new PC rig that is a bit more powerful than that one so I can do some software development with neural networks, 3D modeling, and host app and game servers. A friend is offering to sell me a rig they have which comes with a massive case that might fit both rigs together, but I need help figuring out what is the best thing to do. Budget & Location: $3,000 ~ $5,000 CAD for the new PC and $500 ~ $1,000 CAD for upgrading the existing one. (CAD , Canada) Aim: I will use the new PC to: Develop Neural Networks / AI (nothing too extreme, I know I need a NASA-grade PC to create high-end AIs, I will build basic AIs or whatever my build allows), Do 3D Modeling (assets for games mostly), Host servers for Apps and Games, and Occasional gaming with games such as Ark Survival Evolved, No Man's Sky, Space Engineers, Minecraft, and other Sandbox Survival and MMO games ...possibly VR, but that's just bonus stuff right now The existing PC will be used by my partner for: Photo/Video Editing, 3D modeling and texturing, and Gaming (same kind of games as listed above, we will play together). ...possibly VR, but that's just bonus stuff right now Monitors: For the new PC: Two monitors, both wide (at least one ultrawide), and at least one of them should be able to be setup vertically. For the existing PC: Similar to the above, except at least one monitor needs to be good for Photo/Video editing with good color calibration (probably Peripherals: Mechanical keyboard, Gaming Mouse, Headset, and Webcam, all connected via USB. Nothing out of the ordinary. OS: My current right which I will give to my partner is on Windows 10 Pro. I might keep it like that, or install a Linux distro as the system OS and have Windows 10 Pro in a VM in there. For the new rig, I will likely do the same thing. Other details: My current rig which I plan to pass over to my partner has the following specs: Motherboard: ASUS ROG Maximus IX Hero Z270 LGA1151 DDR4 DP HDMI M.2 USB 3.1 ATX --> $284.99 CAD (2017 via NewEgg) CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K Kaby Lake Quad-Core 4.2 GHz LGA1151 91W BX80677I77700K Desktop Processor --> $413.99 CAD (2017 via NewEgg) GPU: ASUS ROG GeForce GTX 1070 STRIX-GTX1070-O8G-GAMING 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Card with RGB Lighting --> $609.99 CAD (2017 via NewEgg) PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750 G2 220-G2-0750-XR 80+ GOLD 750W Fully Modular EVGA ECO Mode Includes Power On Self Tester Power Supply --> $134.99 CAD (2017 via NewEgg) RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8 GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Intel Z170 Platform / Intel X99 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C15D-16GVR --> $164.99 CAD (2017 via NewEgg) Case/Tower: NZXT S340 Glossy Black Steel ATX Mid Tower --> $94.99 CAD (2017 via NewEgg) CPU Cooling: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120mm PWM Fan --> $35.99 CAD (2017 via NewEgg) System Disk: SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5" 250GB SATA III 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-75E250B/AM --> $139.99 CAD (2017 via NewEgg) Storage Disk: Seagate ST2000VX008-2E3164 with 2TB (it's actually 1.81TB) --> $79.99 CAD (2017 via NewEgg) Monitor: LG 29UB55-B 29" IPS LED HD 21:9 UltraWide LCD Monitor --> $259.95 CAD (2017 via eBay) Total Budget Spent (2017) on this rig was: $2,219.86 CAD I have not had any issues with this rig, it is the best PC I have had by far. That said, I underestimated how much space my system disk would need, so I need to upgrade the SSD to one with more space, probably 1TB. Aside from that, the only issue I've had is with the case's power switch not working properly which seems to be a common issue with this case model. The new rig I want to build should have similar specs, but more powerful. A friend of mine is offering to sell me one of his rigs which has these specs: Motherboard: GIGABYTE X399 AORUS XTREME sTR4 AMD X399 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 Extended ATX AMD Motherboard (Socket TR4, AMD Ryzen Threadripper) CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2nd Gen - Ryzen Threadripper 2970WX Colfax (Zen+) 24-Core, 48-Thread, 2970WX 4.2 GHz Max Boost (3.0 GHz Base), Socket sTR4 250W YD297XAZAFWOF Desktop Processor GPU: ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 2080 Blower 8GB GDDR6 256-bit Metal Backplate Dual Slots Graphics Card ZT-T20800A-10P, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080, GPU Clock Speed 1710 MHz PSU: Corsair HXi High Performance ATX12V 1200 Power Supply Series CP-9020070-NA, HX1200i 80+ Platinum Fully Modular, Corsair Link RAM: G.SKILL Sniper X Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3000 (PC4 24000) Desktop Memory Model F4-3000C16D-32GSXFB Case/Tower: Phanteks Enthoo Elite PH-ES916E_BK Black Anodized Aluminum Panels, Powder Coated Steel Chassis, Tempered Glass Side Panel E-ATX Full Tower Case CPU Cooling: Fractal Design Cooler FD-WCU-CELSIUS-S36-BK, Dynamic X2 PWM fans with 500 to 2000 RPM with sound dampening System Disk: SAMSUNG 970 EVO M.2 2280 1TB PCIe Gen3.X4, NVMe 1.3 64L V-NAND 3-bit MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-V7E1T0BW Storage Disk: HGST DeskStar NAS 3.5" 4TB 7200 RPM 128MB Cache SATA 6.0 Gb/s High-Performance Hard Drive for Desktop NAS Systems Monitor: n/a My friend says he spent approximately $7,000 CAD on this rig (in 2019 if I recall correctly), but is willing to sell it to me for less (has not said how much yet). My dilemmas, doubts, and what I need help figuring out is the following: First of all, are the specs of my friend's computer good for my purposes? I think it might even be overkill, which I am fine with. If I get my friend's rig, should I leave it as it is or do you recommend changing/replacing any components? As a side note, I might underclock the CPU to reduce electricity bill, if possible because the Threadripper will increase my electricity bill by 20~30% according to my calculations. If I get my friend's rig, should I keep the case too? It is absolutely massive, and my friend says I can put my current rig in there together with the other... can I do that? should I? I have no idea if putting both motherboards/rigs together in the same case is a good idea or not, I feel like it increases the risk if anything happens to one rig it could affect the other one too... If I get my friend's rig but without the massive case, what case do you suggest for that build? (I like black cases, preferably metal instead of plastic, I prioritize PC safety and practicality over aesthetics) If I do not get my friend's rig, what build would you suggest buying/assembling instead for my purposes? I am still a beginner when it comes to PC rigs/building. I will appreciate any comments and advice.

Hello there, needed a little bit of help as I'm in a dilemma regarding which processor I should buy. I am considering buying either a ryzen 5 3600 or an intel core i5 10500. Which one will be better? I will use the pc for gaming and doing graphic related tasks (designing, video editing, motion graphics etc). I will also use an aftermarket cooler with the cpu. With 16 gb of ram. Can you please give me your suggestion? Also it will be super helpful if you could briefly tell me why the processor of your choice is better. Thank you!

Recently, I bought a new monitor that runs at 1440p and 144hz. My current pc can run 1440p fine, but struggles to reach the refresh rate in newer games. So If someone could help with what parts I should upgrade to that would be great. For context, my budget for upgrading is around $800 and I'm fine with buying a used gpu since they're alot better priced. Current Specs are: B450 asrock steel legend atx board Ryzen 3 3300x with a vetroo v5 cooler EVGA Hybrid Gtx 1070 ti 16gb of ddr4 3200mhz ram

Greetings, I have a budget of around 330€ and im not sure which Graphic card I should buy in order to play Games (like Cyperpunk 2077 or other games on High/Ultra) with solid FPS and graphics. I saw a few videos of a RTX 2060 and a RX 5700 (both are around 309€) and I'm not sure which one to buy , which one would be the best for my Build or if I should buy a different card. (I don't care about 4K Gaming because my Monitor can't handle it anyway and I'm very satisfied with my 1080p Gaming) My Specs.: CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 2600 6x 3.40GHz (BOX Cooler) GPU - Geforce GTX 1050Ti 4GB (want to change) RAM - G.Skill Aegis DDR4-3000 8Gb Motherboard - MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX AM4 Power Supply - ATX Power Supply VS Series VS450 Hard Drive 1 - Seagate 1Tb Desktop HDD Hard Drive 2 - Silicon Power 1Tb SSD M.2 (There are also 2 seperate fans build into for cooling) Thank you for your time.

I am building a new PC, can I save money and use my 2 year old CoolerMaster G550M PSU? Specs: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X (using stock cooler) (2x8GB) Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 3200MHZ RTX 2070 Super Gaming X Trio MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX WD Blue 500GB M.2 2TB Seagate Barracuda HDD Fractual Meshify C (using stock case fans) Wattage calculator sites say that the recommended power supply should be 550W for the build, but I dont want to risk it in case there is even a chance that my 550W PSU cant handle it. Also, I understand there would be not alot of headroom to upgrade with the 550 wattage. Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi, so here's the problem I'm having. I'm building a pc for a friend as he wants to get into pc gaming. However, I've gotten to the point where I need to install the OS and have hooked it up to my monitors and the graphics card isn't connecting. It's an MSI Mech OC (Radeon rx 5700 xt) the screen goes between a black screen and a blue screen that says no signal. I've never dealt with overclocked anything before. So the system specs are listed below: PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wP2GzN CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory Storage: Western Digital Blue 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Video Card: MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB MECH OC Video Card Case: Cougar MX330 ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: Corsair CXM V2 (2017) 750 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply I've put this graphics card into my computer for testing and it had the same problem there. I also took the graphics card out of my own computer and tested it in the new system and that worked. So I'm pretty sure the problem is related to the new graphics card, but I'm not sure if its a DOA or if it has something to do with the overclocking. Like I said before. I haven't changed any power settings in bios or anything. Please help. I've had a lot of issues getting everything put together for this guy and I'm just at my wits end.

Hey! I need some guidanse for building my new music production computer, expecially with all the fuzz around new processors and chipsets theese days and i feel very confused about what i should spend my money on. I mainly use my computer to produce music and doing sound design, with a lot of CPU heavy synths and effects such as Xfer Serum and iZotope Ozone and huge RAM consuming sample libraries like Kontakt and East West Quantum Leap. I will also be using the new machine to create videos with Adobe Premier and After Effects and some basic 3D modeling and animation in Cinema 4D, but the first priority is music production. I'm a very casual gamer and already own an MSI GTX 980 graphics card i wish to use in my new build. I want to be able to upgrade my computer in the future if that is needed so this will also be a priority. The computer also needs to be silent so i'm thinking that water cooled CPU is the way to go if you don't recommend anything else. I alreday own 2x4TB WD RED NAS HDD's and a Samsung 850 PRO 512GB 2.5" SSD so i also with to use in the new build altough i'm thinking about switching to an NVMe drive for my operating system and DAW. My budget is 3000$ with a little wiggle room. Theese are the specs i'm currently looking at: - ASUS Prime X299-Deluxe, Socket-2066 - Intel Core i9-7900X - G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3200MHz 32GB - NZXT Kraken X62 CPU Cooler - Corair AX 1500i PSU Keep in mind that i'm very new to pc building so if something seems overkill or like a rookie mistake thats probaly the cause. (Sorry for poor grammar. English is not my primary language)

I have a few questions: Which is better: Buying the parts for your build one by one? As money does not flow efficiently. or Buying all the parts in one go? Saving up and doing it in one go.

So i`ve been working on putting together a list of parts for a PC recently. The PC will mainly and most of the time be used for gaming on games such as Battlefield 1, Tomb Raider, Assassins Creed etc. Basically any of the newer games out now, and coming in the future. I would like the PC to be able to run games in 4k if needed. I might use it for some video editing here and there but nothing really heavy, i won´t be editing anything over 1080p for example. I will be using it for occasional photo editing and some graphic design, again, nothing heavy. My budget is preferably $3500 and anything below, that can do the same amount of work for less money. I do live in Norway, so my list of parts is put together through a Norwegian site. This is mostly because of my budget and the fact that shipping and import fees will ruin me if i was to use Amazon. However if you can name me the parts or link them from Amazon i will get them in Norway instead, or find a way to skip the import fees and such on Amazon. I will be using 2 of these monitors, and i might be getting a third monitor which would be 4k, but that`s in the further future so not really something to count in right now. I do have accessories such as Keyboard, headset, mouse and mousemat all ready to be purchased. If you do have any suggestions on what i can change there, feel free to let me know. But if it doesn`t work with the rest it doesn´t really matter too much:) All in all this sums up to $4.724 US Dollars on the site i`m using (Just a usual tech shop in Norway). However i`m sure there are parts i could change out for something that fulfills my needs for less money seeing as i`m no expert. I`m planning on buying most parts on sales and it would most likely be holiday sales like Christmas, and sales like Black Friday. I might not have all the parts bought by the time summer is here again, so i guess that`s something you can take into consideration. Thanks for any answers and i`m interested in seeing what you all can help with:)
