Hey guys, Quick question - I want to buy a sub for my setup, specifically PreSonus Eris Sub 8, but I want to connect it to my PC via a motherboard center/subwoofer channel - is it possible? What sort of cable do I need for that with that specific subwoofer? I currently have PreSonus Eris 3.5 monitors connected to my MOBO and a Sonos Ray with a S/PDIF. MOBO is an Asus Crosshair X670E Hero.

i have been using the earc on my lg c9 with my denon x3700h. trying to run my pc through this and it has worked using this method described in this article (How to get PC surround sound to work with eARC - GameRevolution) i updated drivers today for my pc and gpu and i cannot get any pc sound out of my av receiver. is there a better way to go about setting up audio? i have an msi x570s tomahawk max wifi with the back panel picture attached. my gpu is a 4090 using hdmi 2.1 to go to my tv. is it possible to send sound to my receiver using a separate hdmi cable to my av receiver? should i use an optical cable and do spdif out? i would love to get dolby atmos to run but i am content with just getting 5.1 or dts to run without issue

Hello, in know that this probably isn't something that anyone has a problem with, but I have trayed for years to get my pc audio to output to multiple outputs. The only thing that worked was the listen to to a device, in windows audio settings, but it ads a delay to my speakers, that annoys me so much that I stopped using it. Plus it has a bad habit to stop working after a windows update, and I have to disable it and reenable it to get it working again. Has anyone a tried to output the same signal to headphones and optical out? Is there maybe a software solution that I have not found? Is it a lost cause?

I have an old (but good) set of Desktop speakers but whenever I plug them into the back of my motherboard (Aorus X570 Elite) the audio is always crackling, however if I plug into front pannel audio they work just fine. Thats an ugly and annoying solution though, any ideas why this is happenning. It's worth mentioning that this also happened on my old motherboard (B350m Asus Prime). Also this is 3.5mm not optical or HDMI.

Hi, I really need help in choosing an Amplifier and a subwoofer. So I have this old set of Sony speakers (Model - SS-H414-2, Impedance - 6 ohms). I have a mediocre 2.0 Amplifier which I have been using for more than 2 years, and now I want to Update my setup by adding a subwoofer and a 2.1 Amplifier. I have searched a lot and couldn't get any understanding of this whole Amplifier and Subwoofer thing. I am not an Audiophile and have no Knowledge about these things. I've listened to some other readily available 2.1 setups from brands like Philips and Creative which my friends use for their PCs and they are not as good as my Sony speakers. So I want to stick to these as long as they work fine. Kindly please help me to choose something. Btw I'm from India,

Alright, so I've seen a few posts here and some information on Reddit on how to do this in general, but I was wondering if someone here would be able to help me with my specific use case. I understand enough about audio routing to be somewhat dangerous but I also get really confused by it so I'm hoping someone can clear things up for me. I'll start with the hardware that I have and then go into what I am looking to do. I have my gaming PC, TV, and PS4 all going into my Behringer Xenyx Q1002USB mixer which outputs to 2 JBL monitors. The PC is using just a 1/8" headphone to 1/4" TRS L/R cable into one of the channels on the mixer (though I could use the USB cable on the mixer to have audio input and output on my PC, more on that later) while the TV and PS4 are both on the same channel into the mixer. The PS4 is passing audio over the HDMI input on the TV and the master TV output is going to the mixer from an RCA L/R cable to TRS L/R into the mixer. I currently don't have a microphone plugged into the mixer but want to take advantage of the XLR inputs and eventually get a microphone plugged in. My question is this: is there a way to have one XLR microphone plugged into the mixer and have the audio input go to both my PC voice chat and PS4 voice chat? I have seen some videos that say my mixer is compatible with the PS4 over USB but I am worried that other audio coming into my mixer (including game audio from the PS4) would be routed back into the input of whatever devices I have it connected it to through USB since all audio getting routed through the mixer would go to the audio output over USB. I want to get an AT2035 or something similar and use my ATH-M50x's for audio monitoring for both devices and would like to have both options running all the time so I wouldn't have to do any weird cable unplugging or digital audio routing through Windows or my PS4. I can't see myself ever utilizing both options at the same time but I am trying to avoid changing up my setup each time I want to play something on either device. I have been playing a lot more on my PS4 recently so I could just not worry about my PC right now but eventually I want to get back into PC gaming again. Thoughts?? P.S.- I know this is all over the place so please feel free to ask questions to better understand my setup.

I just came into possession of a pair of Singer HE-925 speakers just like the ones pictured in the attachment, but mine are in pristine condition. They have never been used. My roommate bought them at the PX on his base while serving as an MP at the Panama Canal in the 70s. The speakers were never removed from the box and never used. The turntable they came with though doesn't work anymore. I want to use these speakers to replace by Creative Labs 2.1 speakers. Right now all audio comes from my two computers through HDMI to my display which is a Samsung HDTV. An audio cable is connected to the 3.5mm audio out jack to a high-quality mechanical switch. This lets me select speakers or headphones. The headphones are AKG cans used with a Bravo Audio v3 Tube Amp. The only specs I have been able to find about these speakers is that they are 8 ohms and that is it. The speakers connect via an RCA jack. Seeing as they were intended for a turntable from the 70s I'm guessing the power they needed won't be that high. My budget is tight, what would I need to power these? Any suggestions?

I want to use a PC as a hands-free device for my phone (Droid Turbo 2). I tried actually wiring it up with the right audio adapters. That worked once or twice then decided to stop working no matter what I try. Windows 8 had this capability built in via Bluetooth but that was removed in Windows 10. I know I could just use VOIP but I'm trying to use my main number. I'd like to do this using Bluetooth, is there a dongle that would support this functionality (AD2P), or is there a wired solution that might work that won't break the bank like an audio mixing board plus DAC intended for this kind of thing. There has to be something, I can't be the only person wanting to do this. I've got a high-quality mic and a great pair of headphones to use for this. Being able to take viewer calls during OSB live streams would be great. We've been fighting with this for a while now and I'm at the end of my rope. Help me LTT Community, you are my only hope!

Hi, I have a problem with my Roland vt-3 vocoder. When I connect it to my PC, I just get a message saying that Windows cannot find the unit. And I cannot find any software online. Does anyone know what to do? It is connected from USB to my PC with an XLR microphone in the back.

good day all so i just upgraded my PC speaker system. i have a Sonos beam to my asus prime x299 deluxe MB by the optical out (using the sonos optical to HDMI ARC connector) and its working well. i then figure why not get surround sound. so i just got 2 oneSL's. i hooked them up and its not working. they out put sound (extension of the 2.0 sound from the beam) but not true surround. i have gone into the settings in win 10 to see if i could get it to push 5.1 audio. but i cant find anything. is this even possible?? is there a way to get HDMI ARC output from my 2080ti?? i want full 5.1, but have yet to order a sub, and probably wont until i figure out how to get surround working. any help would be awesome. cheers,

Hi I'm planning to upgrade my pc audio and I want to get the Yamaha hs8 as well as the Sennheiser hd650, I am lost on what audio interface or DAC/amp to get as; I don't know anything about audio. I will be using it for leisure and possibly some video production and not to fussed on the recording.

I have an Asus Strix Z270E motherboard and I'm building a desk PC similar to what Linus built and has in his office. I am looking to ditch my crap desk speakers very soon and go with a soundbar for aesthetic sleekness and to save space and cables. What I am wondering is; does anyone out there have a recommendation for a soundbar that I can use with the audio outputs on my motherboard (pictured below) to get quality sound without spending gross amounts of money? The mobo does have built in Bluetooth but I'm not sure if that would cause audio lag that might interfere with gaming. Thank you in advance to anyone who replies with valid input.

So I have an idea, that there very may well be something already out there to suit my needs, but with my lack of fancy audio knowledge i may be overlooking...so forgive me as I may be a bit of a noob when it comes to custom home audio setups. Looking to DIY to try and save a few thousand on something that does way more than what i need it for. What I'm looking to do: I'm planning to have a central PC output multiple audio tracks to multiple sets of speakers in different rooms, each playing something different. Idealistically playing a different song in each room, but independently controlled from a single PC via software or some sort of router interface. If at all possible the "audio router" being connected to the PC via 1 cable (ethernet or USB), and connecting to the different sets of speakers with speaker wire, telephone cord, or if its a must (for cost reasons) RCA cables. Not needing any surround sound features, stereo would be great but mono would work just fine. Any advice or insight would be a great help, I'm here to learn Thanks, Bill

Hello I wonder if someone could point me in the right direction. I am having an office / gaming room refurbed and am looking of a way to connect all my devices to one set of speakers. I have no hardware at the moment so would need advice on speakers as well as possible amps and sound cards. The devices I need connected are as follows. PC Playstation 3 Xbox 360 I would like the PC to connect to my monitor with DVI and the consoles via HDMI. I only really have space for 2.0 or 2.1 speakers and will also sometimes like to use headphones for all 3 devices. I hope all this makes sense, I basically just want to be able to plug everything in and then just press a button to change the sound source. Thanks for looking Russ

Hey guys! Very first post here on Linustechtips Forum. Have some comments/questions about Audio for my PC. I originally was going to ask about a good sound card to purchase. But after reading different postings, purchasing a dedicated sound card is a bad thing? So, I leave it in the experts hands. Looking for knowledge and the best sound quality I can get from my PC? Price be damned! I listen to music - 20%....movies - 20%....gaming 60% of the time. Sort of a mixed bag, but mainly gaming. I'm using current onboard audio ASUS Z77 Formula. And Monitor speakers ASUS PA279Q. Looking for speakers mainly, because I already have headphones. Sennheiser HD 800 Any advise is greatly appreciated. And I thank you for your time in advance.
