  1. hi all, pretty familiar with overclocking at this point. had everything running solid with my 5900x on a crosshair viii x570 till i went into bios and tinkered with the pbo scalar. initially i was averaging 4.9ghz consistantly, eh around 80watts. of course not all cores going, most were sleeping. whatever, pc ran fine and temps were always at or below 80c under load back to the pbo scalar. so i went into that on bios, hit enable for virtually everything, set my temp max/cpu to 90. then did the "auto" scalar settings to positive and 1. reboot into windows, oh i also set the multiplyer (i normally wouldnt do it this way but fresh\new bios, whatever) to 43.00 anyway noticed under load id fluctuate from 110w to 209w and back down. it would go all over the place along with my cpu temps, obviously. having taskman open i did notice all 12 cores were at the same clock speed, sweet! although with temps hitting 90 and up, uhm, shouldnt my pc "blow up", as in immediately shut off? did a restart, this time did a negative scalar and again, 1 instead of zero. doing '-1' wasnt an option, presuming the '-' character was invalid same result! why is this as i thought a neg scalar would decrease the wattage? either settings were stable. so i let it do some cpu mining as a stress test (nicehash always "blows up" my pc if unstable during a bench). i think it got to 110 degrees max according to the phone app. obviously not ideal but i let it run for idk 6 hours, figured things would balance out since i have so much radiator surface area and a custom block for the mobo/cpu/vrm's etc etc. -why didnt my pc blow up considering my max temp is set at 85? normally if the voltage spikes suddenly (as would temp) say 60c to 94c and back to idk 70c BLOOP pc shuts off -why was so much voltage being pushed to the cpu, even without load? -how the hell was it stable! -any suggestions on how to fix the wacky wattage? -is messing with the PBO even practical considering 4.9ghz runs fine? -really any suggestions at all lol thanks peeps!
  2. First time PC builder here. Rocking a 7600 with an ASRock b650m riptide. I recently watched a video from optimum tech where he demonstrates the use of PBO. I've tried it and its great. My 7600 is now at 5.150mhz at -30. However the second part of the vid where he puts the limits is where I'm confused. Can anyone explain the process behind and also give me any additional ways to improve temps, performance etc?
  3. Hello I have a 5600x with pbo and auto oc (+200) active. I was wondering if there is a way to confirm that a negative curve optimizer offset is stable without performing a long test that will take a lot of time and use a lot of electricity. Or if a certain offset is stable with a short stress test, how much should I back off the offset to be certain it is stable without testing it. (Also I was wondering if messing with the curve optimizer is really worth it if I am not thermal throttling, I get somewhere between 70-75° under load.)
  4. I am hitting 90c and throttling whether PBO2 is on or off but I assumed since the curve is lower it should boost higher with the same power usage? I am using a Scythe Fuma 2 cooler at 30c~ ambient if that matters at all. PBO settings and scores below. Anyone know why my performance is worse with PBO than at stock? Am I doing something wrong? PBO2 Settings Core 0: -19 Core 1: -8 Core 2: -14 Core 3: -24 Core 4: -19 Core 5: -2 Core 6: -21 Core 7: -17 Boost Override: +200 PPT: 142 TDC: 95 EDC: 140 Cinebench R23 Multicore: PBO2 14577 / Stock 14498 Singlecore: PBO2 1549 / Stock 1566
  5. I've been away from any real overclocking for a long time now, so I'm looking for feedback from people that are more up to date, or for some good resources to look through for myself. Basically, I've got a 5800X3D, 64GB DDR4-4000(18), and an Asus Crosshair VIII Hero. I can run the Asus auto-tune option in the UEFI and it gets me a 20%(ish) OC of 4.1GHz on all cores. I'm pretty sure I could tweak that a bit and get it higher, since even running the 3dmark stress-test doesn't push the package over 60c, but I'm wondering if using PBO would benefit me more than pushing the all-core OC. I tend to have other programs open while gaming (Discord, Firefox, etc.) and I also run a few VMs at the same time when I'm not gaming (that's why I bought the 64GB RAM), so the all-core probably helps a bit with background tasks and the VMs. I'm wondering if switching to PBO would give me much of a boost for gaming compared to the 4.1 the preferred core should be running at now (that's my understanding from what I've read so far, like I said, I haven't done much tinkering in a few years). Thanks for any help.
  6. Alright, before I go and daily these settings, could anyone tell me if they're safe? PBO is configured with Auto Scalar & Default Limits Asus Core Performance Boost is enabled. Curve Optimiser set to -15 on almost all cores and -10 on two of them (this is what I found to be stable, -30 wouldn't even boot). Core, SOC Voltages are set to Auto, reading as 1.353V and 1.080V in CMOS respectively. In single-threaded workloads, VID reads between 1.2V and 1.26V Clocks range between 4.69Ghz (nice) and 4.95Ghz in single-threaded workloads, steady at 4.6Ghz all-core in Cinebench Max temperatures are around 87⁰C (it's a bit toasty but I think this is all my NH-D15 can do at over 210W all-core) DOCP at 3600Mhz, Auto Voltage reading at 1.352V System Specs: AMD Ryzen 5950X (PBO Enabled, Core Enhancements Enabled) Noctua NH-D15 chromax Corsair Vengence LPX 3600Mhz/C16 (DOCP Enabled) Asus Crosshair Dark Hero VIII X570 Samsung 980 Pro 1TB x2 LG Optical Drive Hotplug 2.5 inch SATA Bay Samsung 870 Evo 2TB Nvidia RTX 3090 Founders LSi 9211-8i HBA 5x Seagate IronWolf Pro 6TB Corsair HXi 1000W PSU
  7. I am building my first pc and I watched videos that it is better to underclock using PBO2 to get maximum efficiency. I have a Ryzen 5 5600G 2x8GB 3600Mhz I'm stuck on choosing between MSI A520M-A Pro and Gigabyte B450M-K. Which of these support PBO2 and its curve optimization? Thanks guys, would be a big help!
  8. Hello. So I'm not that knowledgeable in computer but I know enough to troubleshoot and update necessary stuff whenever needed. First of all, let me just say that it has gotten worse but I started noticing the issue when I upgraded from old ryzen to the new gen. Initially what I did is I let it run for just stock everything for a day and tried benchmarks and it seemed just fine. Then I activated EXPO and it was also stable and it actually has been a month and nothing happens no errors or crashes. I always make sure everything is updated and drivers correctly installed. However I slowly got random restarts with no bsod. It just turns off and reboots as if power got cut off. So Initially my response start it again and try to replicate the problem. But sometimes it does not repeat the issue. Basically what happens is whenever I play a game, it would just crash. At first it started with heavy games, like maybe nfs heat, battlefield V. Modern warfare 2 surprisingly works well. I also play lesser demanding games like Timberborn and Dota 2. They work all fine. But recently even Modern warfare would just crash it. And after a few weeks even Dota and Timberborn and even bloons td would crash it. Not sure if this is related but also my 3080ti would immediately flash 3 fast blinking led lights on the pcie cable plug. Which I have scoured the internet and found it was "not getting enough power", or anything power related. However I have a Thor 1200W which is more than enough and that runs my asus 2080ti oc and 3950x just fine and old pc used to pull 550w because of Overclocking and still would do fine, so in my thinking, the 3080ti and 7950x would be just fine with the 1200W. I have been asking around, researching, found people with the same issue but different scenarios. Different solutions but none work Troubleshooting done: a lot - tried reverting to stock instead of EXPO. Didn't work. - tried setting manual ram to 5200 because a few people had the same issue and said it fixed it. Didn't work - turned off global c-state in bios amd PBS because a few people also had 7950x crashing games and that was one solution that fixed their problem. Didn't work for me. - To address the gpu lights, tried undercoating gpu using afterburner. Because of an old issue causing 3080s to crash if it reaches 2000mhz clock. So I lowered the curve to below 1900 or 1905, select 925 then raise it to 1900 then select the rest of the curve and hit apply to level everything. Put power to 100%. Didn't work for me. Still crashes when I run a game. Then gpu blinks 3 led lights. - when I encounter the gpu led lights I shut off pc, unplug, then hold power for 10 seconds. It removes the gpu blinking led lights. Start it again and pc would boot, but whenever a game is launched, it does the same issue. - tried updating drivers manually direct from nvidia or the manufacturer website. Didn't work for me. - tried updating mobo bios x670-i to latest from Asus that recently had the issue that fixes the voltage for the cpu. I believe it was 1616. Did not work. So basically I don't know what triggers the crash. Who crashed does not show anything because no bsod. Event viewer only shows the critical error of the crash. Nothing else. Error, critical error, error. I thought maybe just maybe. It's the cpu? 7950x with the recent issue of power voltage going higher than 1.4 might cause the issue. Mine goes way higher than 1.4xx. So I tried undervolting using the pbo amd eco. Thinking I can deal with performance loss just to avoid crashes and actually game. I also thought maybe it was the gpu because of the power led lights when it crashes, hence the undevolt. Also tried using 3 separate cable for pcie power as anyone should be doing. I thought maybe it was the psu, maybe not enough power? But older pc parts 2080ti and 3950x works fine. I also have an extra 1200w Thermaltake psu which does the same issue. Still crashes. Maybe the ram? But the gskill trident was on the qvl and I made sure I purchased the right one. Tried using 1 ram stick, 2 ram sticks. Issue persists. I also thought that maybe it's just that the samsung g9 running 240hz was too heavy for even a 3080ti running max settings. So I lowered settings on the game. Issue persists. I lowered g9 refresh rate to 120hz/60hz and I still get the error. I run g9 in split screen mode using half screen only and issue still persists. Okay so basically with everything that has happened, last night I noticed that it has gotten much worse. Now I cannot even do anything. Pc would crash 1 min into boot of windows. I open a browser? No! Big F.U, crashes on me. Would keep crashing that now o cant even boot windows because it crashes on loading screen. Ok so I repaired, reinstalled windows. Did everything necessary. Guess what. Issue still there. I updated the bios of the mobo to the latest Asus 1616 ver. Guess what. Issue still there. Lucky enough to boot windows? Run edge and boom. Pc dead. Gpu blinking lights. Get Into windows? Edge doesn't crash? Maybe maybe. Try bloons 6 td? Nope. Can't have fun sir. Another restart. Everything works. Blizzard runs. Modern warfare starts? Yeah ok gpu led lights on. Pc dead again. I'm going crazy. Like wtf is the issue. Have done so many steps fixing so many different issues. Using different methods from different scenarios. 1 last hurrah maybe, just maybe it was the uPS? 1500VA not enough for power draw of pc? So I tried plugging pc to wall directly and nothing changed. Issue still persists. Help please. It's not just a gaming pc. I also work at home and am a full time student at the same time. My medical records and medication trackers are also there. All my important stuff also there. I recently had 8tb hdd wiped clean. All my important files and stuff gone. Work. School. Livelihood. Personal stuff gone because I thought drive died. But pc powercycled and restarted and crashed that's why the drive died. Now it's my pc dying. I need help Anyone I'm willing to pay you and maybe pizza or anything. Just fix it. Please? I'm in Cali near fresno Hanford. Maybe someone can help? Meet up? I'm desperate. I will drive 4hrs if needed. 9. To preface this, I've done a ton of research into this problem. I'm not the only one and RMAs don't seem to help. Whatever's going on here is just considered a normal operating quirk of either the Dark Hero, the higher end Ryzen 5000 chips or both. Simply put, the system will crash at a firmware level every so often. It doesn't matter if it's under load or idle, it can just lock up with no response to even holding the power button. This immediately makes me think motherboard, but it was suggested by others that RAM could be the cause. I've tried disabling Gear Down mode as well as DDR Power Down - this had no effect, and may even have made it worse. Someone else suggested increasing the DRAM Voltage, and that yielded some really interesting results. In Asus's BIOS, if you're not familiar, you get your input field for the voltage and a little box to the left showing what voltage would be applied by default. Normally, this field is set to "Auto". When you enable DOCP, this field changes to whatever the DOCP profile sets. What's interesting, however, is that the default value in that little box keeps changing. One boot, it might be 1.27V. Another, it could be as high as 1.38V. Often, after a crash, it'll read above whatever you try and set indicating that the BIOS seems to think the memory needs more voltage. Surely, though, 1.38V is enough? I even tried redlining it at 1.4V but it still wanted more (which I was not willing to give it, I don't believe that's safe). It was also suggested to me that 5950X CPUs can sometimes be very badly binned, and when using PBO it can cause significant instability where certain cores (or even entire CCDs) are less up to the task. Someone even suggested that the IO die could've been badly binned, and that was causing the apparent memory instability. If this is the case, there's little I can do because I've passed my return window now. I'm not necessarily looking for a solution, although I'll take it if you have one, but rather just second opinions that might help me piece together a picture of what's going on in my little box of thinking sand. 10. After the recent firmware update that was designed to fix 7000x3D Vcore issues, I saw my maximum boost go higher. Previously my maximum was 5.875GHz on the same chad Core 13, so I was a bit surprised to see it go even higher at 5.9GHz. I'm unsure of the sample time, but the screenshot below is a snap of HWinfo64. I'm curious what others are seeing regarding maximum boosting for all 7000x3D, especially the 7900x3D (if anyone here has one). I assume the 7950x3D's were binned as heck, but I imagine others are seeing similar maximum boosting behavior. The average in this case may not matter. Note: the max 1.390V Vcore also likely pertains to the non 3D CCD (hopefully) if that's of any question with the recent GN video discussing problems after 1.3V Vcore on 7800x3D. 11. So yeah, it's been about two years I was in the BIOS of my motherboard... this is all pretty complicated and overwhelming... I have an idea of what to do, but totally not how, there are soo many settings... I really hope there's a simple way to do what I want - which I'm not sure what it is myself... i guess "more performance" but I would also settle with less heat and same or better performance... Also I definitely thought cool n quiet would be disabled but it was on the whole time, which didn't seem to matter much, cpu has always been working as intended, up to 4200mhz as is written on the box. So what parameters do I need to change exactly if I want it to boost higher - note I still want it to downclock normally while also getting higher boost clocks, especially under load... Specs in sig, motherboard is a msi b350m.
  12. Hey all, I'm curious if anyone has the 5950x in combination with the Asrock Taichi x570? I'm looking for some good PBO settings. I've tried using similar settings used on other motherboards, but I'm simply dropping in both single and multicore scores at several tests (R20 etc). Let me know your results or thoughts!
  13. Hi, So running my 5600x curve optimizer all cores to negative 22, I saw some videos running negative per core with much lower numbers (5, 10, 15, 5, 10, 5), not sure what I'm doing is right or wrong? should the preferred core have the lowest negative or the highest? GB Aorus Elite X570. side question: Overdrive scalar mean to maintain boost clock for longer period of time? thanks,
  14. Hey everyone, Been messing around with my 5900x for a while and I noticed something interesting. I use PBO +200, motherboard limits, and a negative offset. I can run stable at all cores -30, except my best core that needs -20. When I do this, I notice that my second best core actually becomes my best core (second best core peaks at 5.075-5.11GHz and best core around 5.025-5.05). When stability testing earlier, -30 on all cores including the unstable one basically ended up swapping the performance (so 5.1 on best core, 5.05 on second best). Why does my best core seem to need more voltage while performing worse than my second best core? Does this mean the AMD designated best cores may be incorrect? Note: I did make sure that -30 on all cores except my best core was stable, idling and lightly threaded tasks as well as heavy tasks work perfectly fine.
  15. g day people, i´ve got a quick question. Just upgrade my cpu from an ryzen5 3600 to ryzen 7 5800x. Running perfectly on my msi x570 mobo. Now I was trying to boost my cpu performance without actually manual overclocking, leaving it to mobo an cpu itself. Went into Bios, allowing AMD OC Profils and AMDs PBO (Precision Boost Overdrive). To compare results I ran cinebench R23 (multi core - 15 minutes) before and after changing Bios settings, along HWmonitor for clock speeds, power draw, temperature etc Result: PBO off, Mobo Game Boost off ------ the CPU was running at 80 degree with an all core boost frequency of 4.445 ghz ++++++ Power draw of 137W ++++++ Cinebench score 15 249 PBO on, Mobo Game Boost off ------ the CPU ran at 72 degree with same all core boost frequency of 4.445 ghz; Power draw of 114W ++++++ Cinebench score 15 131 PBO off, Mobo Game Boost on------- the CPU locked all core boost frequency at 4.125 ghz with temperatures running up to 85 degree, Power draw of 114W ++++++ Cinebench score 14 675 Question: How come "PBO on" reduces temperatures and power draw so much with all core boost frequency the same then without? Are there any other ways of pushing CPU without manual overclock? Thanks for the help up front. little something to my rig: msi x570 mobo (latest bios installed) ryzen 5800x CPU cooling: bequiet Dark rock 4 32gb corsair lpx 3200mhz
  16. Hello friends. I am currently rocking an Asus Dark Hero X570 and a Ryzen 5900x (rest of build specs below). When I built this I had an issue with CPU temps due to the cpu getting 1.4v at all times, causing 60c+ at idle, and the moment I turned on a game it would shoot to 80c+ and get worse. After endless hours on forums and troubleshooting, I came across this video: After following these steps, I was able to get a stable 4.4ghz at 1.2v which gave me a decreased temp of around 65c after hours of gaming, -30 negative offset running BIOS v 3401 and D.O.C.P. on set to standard profile no tweaking. It worked very well and did not have any issues. Fast forward I purchased a LianLi 4.0 PCIe riser cable to vertically mount my ASUS strix 3080, and then updated bios to new stable v 3601 and right away the issues returned. However now when I put the card back in not vertically mounted, the issues returned even worse. Now at idle I'm about 70c and after half way through one game of COD for example the game crashes and I'm exceeding 84c cpu temps. Steps I have done to remedy this: -Removed riser cable and reinstalled GPU normally. -Flashed bios BACK to known good version 3401 -Cleared CMOS -Reinstalled windows -Reverted all bios settings back to standard/auto and did not mess with PBO/Curve Optimizer -Purchased new AIO -Created more aggressive fan curves At this point my temps are insane and I cannot get this rig to cool down no matter what I try and its unusable. At this point any help is appreciated. 17. Hi, Im new to AMD CPUs, on curve i set all cores to negative 30, higher than most of what I read online, usually 10 to 15, so is this good or bad? Thanks
  18. Hi, I recently got 5600x with Gigabyte Aorus Elite X570 and immediately turned on PBO as advised by users online. I decided to disable PBO and runs some gaming benchmarks and honestly I was shocked with the results on games, On benchmark softwares like Cinebench, 3DMark PBO came superior. PBO settings Limit: Motherboard, Disabled and Manual Curve: -20 all core or per core as per best and 2nd best cores +100mhz, +150mhz, +200mhz Disabling PBO resulted in + 11FPS average on AC Valhalla + 4FPS average on TW Three Kingdoms + 3FPS average on Watch dogs legion Notes: 3 Runs of benchmark after each setting change Board: GB Aorus Elite X570 4 X 8GB Corsair Vengeance pro RGB 3400mhz 16-19-19-34 1.4v Anyone faced the same scenario?
  19. My board b450 gaming pro carbon ac max .ram 16 gb 3600 cl 16 gskill.RAM IS FINE I AM 100 PERCENT SURE.MY SYSTEM CRASHED.I REPLACED CPUS TWICE..amd is saying not everytime cpu can be faulty.my system works fine on cpb and pbo disabled and works under spec on both enabled when i set pbo to enabled in bios.If i changed any other setting of pbo and trust me i tried almost every thing it crashes. It dont work on pbo on auto.I dont want to run my cpu on any other setting than auto as it voids warranty.I am arguing with msi that your board aint enough .But i need knowledge first that what is minimum requirement for it to run FOR AVERAGE SILICON on rated speeds. My cpu never reaches 4.9 ghz even though it seems like it is good..Pls Help
  20. Hello everybody, I've been using the R5 3600 for a while now, but I've never actually looked at the settings. I just bought a 3060TI and figured that, while tuning that, I should probably also have a look at the CPU. Now what I understood is that AMD now has PBO for longer sustained clocks and AutoOC for automatically overclocking the cpu. I don't necessarily want to get every last drop of performance out of the CPU since I don't want to bother with stability issues but I have two questions: - Would I see my performance go up if I buy a better cooler? (I used to have an H75 and I'm thinking of getting a Dark Rock pro 4 or a Gelid Phantom Black). - What are the easy things I really should enable in Ryzen Master (or the bios). So far I have only enabled PBO. I can also enable AutoOC, but then do I need to set the boost override clock for it to do anything? Last time I tried Timespy crashed... Any advice is welcome Thanks PS: I have already enabled XMP PPS: When I run a blender benchmark, all the indicators in Ryzen Master stay in the green, apart from the Temperature which gets to orange.
  21. Sorry for a broken English, if you see some. Got myself an upgrade from 1600 with MSI B350 PC MATE to 5600X with ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS. Before that I used just simple all core overclock on my 1600. But after Precision Boost Overdrive was introduced with Ryzen 3000, I wached many reviews and benchamrks (GN, Hardware Unboxed, LTT, KitGuru) and all of them said the same thing, that overclocking all cores is not the best option, especially for max fps, because all core stable frequency will be lower, than one or two cores can achieve with PBO enabled + good cooler. I actually liked this idea, a lot, because it meant that I will have quiet system on idle and maximum performance under load, I don't have to choose one of two. I got my new hardware less than 2 weeks ago, and after overclocking memory I went to enable PBO and saw, that there is some options: And I was especially intrigued with this one: So I enabled it. Then, just out of curiosity, I checked other sections, and in "Advanced" I saw this: Going deeper... I do not understand why there is 2 places in BIOS, where I can enable\disable PBO. Maybe sombody who is more familiar with Asus bios will explain it? Then, for more than a week I monitored temps/voltages. And I see that when this Boost clock override is enabled, Vcore from time to time jumping over 1.4v, max number that I saw, was 1.45v. If I disable +200 BCO (essentially going to stock PBO behaviour), voltage comes close to 1.395, but never goes over 1.4. This max voltage bursts never last for long enough to be even captured on a screenshot. This is how it looks before +200 BCO: This is when +200 BCO is on: I understand, that PBO algorithm can't know silicon quality of particular processor, it works in a way to be shure that even in worst case scenario clocks will be stable. So voltages will be higer than ideally can be. And I ok with that when those voltages are not crossing 1.4v. I don't know what is actual save oprerating voltage limit for Ryzen 5000 is. But I shure that this number is not 1.4. At least for daily all core OC. And even if I do not overclock all cores, for me it Is very uncomfortable to see those numbers, even if this voltages appear for a fraction of a second. So, does somebody, who has experience with PBO on a 3000 series CPU knows the way to fix the voltage? It is not all about keeping additional 200-300 Mhz on fastest core (allthought it would be nice), because in a couple of weeks I will return to watercooling and temperature scailing will sqweeze couple more Mhz out without risking frying my new CPU in less than a month. I mostly interested, can I influence the "base" voltage, through manual setting it, or using LLC or something? Do PBO really work as GPU boosting tables, where overclock applies to base values of boost table and scailing up all of it accordinly?
  22. I have a problem with my 5950x. While most people report being able to get pretty amazing scores in cinebench with it (like 650 and thereabouts in R20), I got nowhere near that score (got something like 560). Then I moved to R23, and after OC'ing my RAM to 3800 16/20/16/38/60 with a latency of 61ns - I set up PBO with a curve optimizer offset of -10 on every core, 200mhz OC offset and max limits - I get the respectable but underwhelming 1563 in single core (people report easy 1650s). I'm not worried about multi-core with just over 28k there, but people report scores beating out the 2990wx not infrequently (so at least over 30k). I've tried tons of different things and OC configs and I haven't been able to get anything better than this. I've also noticed that any settings that improve my all-core score seem to be decreasing the single-core, and vice versa. The cooling is a Noctua NH-D15 and the mobo is a Gigabyte Aorus Master x570. Any advice? Thanks!
  23. The build is: ASUS B450M-A Ryzen 5 3400G (65W TDP) 2 x 8GB of micron Rev E memory I started with overclocking memory to 3466 MHz and shrinked every timing as well (couldn't stabilise the 3533) added a negative offset on Vcore (-0.043) I enabled PBO X10 scalar +0MHz CPU (couldn't add even +25 without having instability) +200MHz GPU. Disabled PPT, EDC, TDC limits and platform thremal limits. The build suffered from sudden reboots on 3D applications and stress test. To solve the problem a 1.243V SOC was required with PBO enabled it can go as high as 1.32V in some rare cases on 3D applications, but it is almost always around 1.25V so I am fine with that. The memory was stable at even 1.35V SOC so these high voltages are not a problem. (I am aware that unsafe voltages starts beyond 1.3V so going to 1.34-1.36V and staying there for extended time is going to cause a degradation and that voltages reported by softwares like HWiNFO are not exactly the real ones) Now after running any game, the CPU package power goes (75-87W) Later once temperature goes beyond 73° the package power automatically gets limited to 65W only. The difference in game FPS is not clear (almost the same), but the CPU clock speeds goes lower and graphics core clock shows the same behaviour. I don't like this limit. How can I disable this limit?
  24. As title suggests, i'm trying to undervolt / use pbo limits on my 5800x since temps are a bit higher than i'd like. But in my BIOS i can change PBO settings in 2 places, "motherboard settings" and then theres at tab just called "overlocking" Just wondering which one i should be using or both. Mobo is a MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK
  25. I am using a AMD Ryzen 9 7950X with a MSI MAG B650M Mortar motherboard. While in BIOS, I want to tune the PBO2 settings to reduce power consumption and temps. But, there is two PBO menu : Settings -> Advanced -> AMD Overclocking Overclocking -> Advanced CPU Configuration -> AMD Overclocking I've read on MSI forum (here) that the second one should be used. But in this menu I can't tune PBO Limits values, they are stucks in auto (see attatchment). Should I use the other PBO setting (even if it is not recommended) ? If not, what can I do to unlock this menu ?
