Sorry if this is an already known topic (I couldn't find it on here). Since beginning of this year I noticed that Steam/Valve or rather PayPal forces you to accept the Facebook Data Policy by receiving the receipts in their messenger when purchasing games (pictures further down). At first I tought this was maybe a mishap on behalf of PayPal or Valve and canceled the transaction to repeat the purchase, this time without the prompt to accept the policy of Facebook. To clarify, I have no Facebook account because of privacy concerns (big news, huh?). Today I noticed unfortunately, that this behaviour is still present as of writing this post. Also it seems that I am not the only one getting these prompts when using PayPal as my payment provider as there are already these community threads on Steam and Reddit: Steam-Commuity-Thread by Nelly (dated March 7th, 2023) - LINK Steam Thread Reddit-Thread by u/HELPMEIMBOODLING (dated February 18th, 2023) - LINK Reddit Thread Within the Steam-Thread it was recommended to unlink your PayPal-account from any Facebook-account but the users in the Thread and myself were not able to find any linked FB-accounts within our PayPal. As a workaround it was recommended to try to purchase without storing the payment information to avoid this perticular pop-up, which does not seem to ask for Facebooks permissions. Another would be to not use the Steam-Client but a ordinary browser to process the payment within steam. I have tried several checkout options myself and have following results with attached screenshots: (please note that some screenshots may have been edited to hide sensitive information and to consolidate scrollable content from paypal for better format): Checkout using PayPal (not the "My PayPal" selection in Steam), like I would buy first time via PayPal on Steam and choosing to save the payment-information (checkmark before heading to PayPal). Paypal then asks you to accept Facebooks Data Policy without any visible other option except cancelation of the purchasing process: Checkout using PayPal, exactly the same as above without restarting steam. This time PayPal doesn't seem to ask for any permissions for Facebook. I assume this process differs a bit as the Steam-Client already has my PayPal-Login cached locally which also resulted in me only needing to reauthenticate my MFA: Completely restarting the Steam-Client and repeating the process as described results in first case, again asking to agree to Facebook's Data Policy. Checkout using PayPal (not the "My PayPal" selection in Steam), like I would buy first time via PayPal on Steam and choosing NOT to save the payment-information (no checkmark before heading to PayPal). This time we get a different PayPal-dialog (similar to any single-purchase process where you only consent for a single transaction) where no agreeing to any policy from Facebook is requested: I wasn't able to get in touch with any party (Valve or Facebook) yet but wanted to ask you first if you had any similar experience? Greetings from germany, Cheers! ~Palte

On the 23rd of April I ordered a keyboard on the official Keychron website. And at the following day I received the following E-Mail: PayPal was my method of payment and I followed the described procedure. Roughly 4 hours later I got a ping on my PayPal app that someone was trying to log into the account from a new location. I live in the middle of nowhere in Germany, but the attempt came from Berlin (upon further inspection, likely a VPN proxy). This account has not seen any other use for several days before. Please see this as a warning and potential warrant for support on how to properly deal with this situation. *This post is a copy of a Reddit post I made on the (sadly) unofficial Keychron Subreddit. Please excuse me if I accidentally broke a rule on this forum, since I don't really post on here, but I need the best advice I can get on how to proceed

hey guys, i found a cheaply priced RTX card on fb marketplace and asked the seller to ship it to me, he accepted and i told him i use paypal goods and services only, and he said thats fine as thats how he receives his payment usually. i checked his fb commerce profile and it shows many items marked as sold dating all the way back to 2019, he also mentioned that he's a trusted paypal seller, so paypal would release the money into his account before i receive the item, even if payed by goods and services. can paypal accounts be bought? like could it be scammer who has a trusted paypal account and when i send the money and get scammed i wont be able to get my money back since they wont be held but would be already released in his account as a trusted seller? what do you guys think ?

hey guys, so i sent money to a seller on facebook using paypal goods and services and now hes telling me he cant use the money as its showing as pending and he wants to return the money because he doesnt want anything to do with it now after getting to know that he has to wait till i receive the item and confirm that its all good, now i really want that item, is there a way from my side to make the money available instantly before receiving the item so the seller can go ahead and ship the item already as hes hesitant that i will scam him and get a refund after he ship the item. TL;DR : i want to make the money i sent by paypal goods and services available to the seller asap even before i receive the item

floatplane club How to Cancel Floatplane Club Renewal
armanhaji posted a topic in Forum Bugs and Issues
Hey I just subscribed to Floatplane Club, but I'm not too happy with it. I was going to stick with it for this month, but cancel it the next month. Does Floatplane Club automatically charge you every month or do you have to manually purchase it each month? If it automatically charges you, how do you go about cancelling that?- 9 replies

Any idea why PayPal is showing up as text only? It's been like this for almost an entire week now. Happens both on my desktop running Windows 10 and my MacBook. Tried using different browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and even Microsoft Edge. Edit: PayPal shows up correctly if I use mobile data to access the page. So my home network is the one that is causing the problem.

Hey, I want to buy an LTT Floatplane club subscription. PayPal doesn't wish to have me as a customer thus I'm not able to pay through PayPal. I've been snatching the LTT Floatplane videos from the interwebs for a good while now out of necessity but I do want to contribute. I'll be making payment in Bitcoin. Please can any staff send me a PM with payment information (Bitcoin address + price (i.e. $29.99)) and I'll be sure to make payment at my earliest convenience.

HI, I have tried to pay for floatplane club twice with two different paypal accounts but my payment is not going through. I got an email each time saying, Your automatic payment did not go through Dear XXX, We couldn't process your automatic payment. Please contact Linus Media Group Inc. to pay what you owe.

Hey there, I hate to annoy you guys with this, but it really gets me that I am unable to give my money to LMG over the forum. In Germany PayPal doesn't allow the kind of subscription you are using, Patreon isn't a problem though. Maybe you could change the subscription settings or just add a single payment 1 year version If it is more work for you guys, just make it more expensive.

Hello guys. Just a quick question. I used my PayPal to pay for a friend's monthly subscription for WoW Arena in battle.net It was like 12.99 or somehting. My question is simple. Will battle.net draw 12.99 every month from my card or what? It had no option for an one month payment. And if so, can I cancel it via PayPal? Disclaimer: I have no idea about battle.net and how it works.

I would like to know why a Paypal account is required for Floatplane? I understand the reasons for using Paypal as a payment system, instead of just allowing for payment using debit/credit directly, but it is very inconvenient that an actual account must be made. Often, you can use paypal to checkout without an account by checking out as a guest. I believe the reason that this is not available is because Floatplane is a subscription based purchase, and you cannot do subscriptions with a paypal guest checkout. If you were to offer the yearly purchase of Floatplane as a one-time purchase, I believe the option to checkout as guest would appear. I highly encourage you to consider this. Offering the onetime payment would not pose any logistical, financial, or otherwise difficult problem for you as far as I can see. As long as the purchase isn't a subscription, enabling guest checkout should be as easy as this: Thank you.

Hey everyone, a friend of mine from Bulgaria is on Erasmus for one semester here in Germany. She has a German bank account, but no money on it, and Bulgarian bank accounts (with online banking access to the history) Could she just link both accounts to her PayPal, charge her PayPal balance from her Bulgarian account, and discharge it to her German one? She'd like to avoid fees when getting money at the ATM, and PayPal takes international fees now... Cheers, Jonas

Alright so I'm looking to catch some deals online for some of the components/peripherals I have a decent amount of money on paypal but the problem is I need a site that can ship to Croatia , that sells components/peripherals and accepts PAYPAL ! Amazon doesn't support paypal, Newegg doesn't ship, and most of the other sites have either bad pricing or are unreliable (ex. GearBest - I wanted to buy a mechanical keyboard motospeed ck104 with outemu switches but have heard that there is very bad shipping and customs problem ... - correct me if I'm wrong ) Thanks in advance. :=)

I was hoping to buy a couple of items but the website I wanted to use only accepted G2A. I have an account for it but I can’t find the top-up button or the deposit button. I already have PayPal linked so I don’t know why I can’t add money. I also have my phone linked so that shouldn’t be a problem either.

Source: The Verge After the recent acquisition of Honey, the money-savin', discount-searchin', coupon-findin' browser extension, Amazon has been notifying Amazon users that Honey's browser extension is a security risk and encourages Amazon users to uninstall the extension. The official warning reads as follows (or above in the quote if you wanted a visual): When interviewed by The Verge, Amazon initially stated their stance on Honey, but declined to elaborate. Reading on from The Verge's article on the situation, the journalist Dami who wrote this article perfectly articulates a theory behind why Amazon is so against the browser extension: Having recently installed Honey and finding literally zero results for it, I'm not compelled to re-install Honey any time soon. I do believe Amazon does have a point, but their point could reflect onto any browser extension, as browser extensions all track browser activity in some form. I agree with Dami that Amazon might just be feeling the heat from PayPal now owning Honey.

Just a quick question about amazon payments/shipping: I bought a Ryzen 7 1700x during Cyber Monday for $180(USD) when it's usually $210(USD). my card got declined so i had a friend paypal me some money he owed. How long will Amazon honor the $180 while i wait for the money to transfer?
