A question for you Americans or anyone who lives there or knows this. Why in America, for electronics people don't pay taxes? Or do you but it's not when you buy a product but some time after? Or the tax is 2% or 3% so you barely notice it? How does the system work over there? By tax, i mean the VAT. The Value Added Tax.

More great news for the LTT team and their Canadian brethren. Google might be acknowledging that your 1) a first world country, 2) Located in North America, 3) A key partner in NAFTA and NATO. Don't worry, those US citizens not in the bay area are forgotten at times too (YouTube TV!!!) Announcement: https://canada.googleblog.com/2017/06/google-home-is-coming-to-canada.html Apparently, the delay was because of all your baguette-eating citizens in Quebec, eh! Congratulations and welcome to the G world! That is until the next time Google forgets about users again in pursuit of robots, AI, or something else shiny.

A few weeks ago I posted an article about the Australian Banks and their want for iPhone NFC access. See here. Now Apple has responded! Talking about iPhone security, and I must say it's a fair point as we found out from Black Hat the iPhone is ahead (by a large amount) in terms handset security, thanks to it "secure enclave" (read more about it here and here if you wish). Giving a 3rd party access to this could cause a security exploit maybe Apple will one day found a way to open it up securely, but until then, Australian banks, just give us Apple Pay already! Hi, Just being playing around with 3d with tridef 3d. But I've incounted few issues of course, like with more recent titles like assassins creed syndicate and starwars battlefront. Do the developers regularly update the tridef 3d app for more recent game titles?

Being a user of Apple Pay, and loving it, not having to unlock my phone and also having the ability to use my watch (even when my phone is't present) that is extremely handy as well, albeit a lot more awkward to do. I feel that unless Apple also opened up the Apple Pay API, everyone solution would be garbage in comparison. Being able to hold my phone next to the NFC terminal takes literally seconds since I don't have to unlock my phone and look around pages of apps for my bank app, then sign into that one and so on, holding everyone up while you do so. Apple will open up the NFC at some point not necessarily iOS 10 or 11 but they will, they'll have to and when they do it'll cause a lot of apps that just don't hold up as well as Apple Pay's senselessness and perfect integration into iOS. However saying that it will benefit all these other areas is true, although to my knowledge a lot of these can be achieved though Apple's wallet app, but I may be wrong and it probably only allowed for certain developers. I've always wondered what G2A pay actually is... When you go to buy something, you can choose to use a debit/credit card or Paypal to name a few, or you can select "G2A Pay" and then use a debit/credit card or paypal.. Can someone explain

I'm looking into getting an ultrawide monitor, but I'm kind of broke so the only way I would be able to afford it would be to sell my current monitor and then pay the rest. My current monitor is a Samsung S24D590PL. -23.6 inches - PLS (basically IPS) - Game Mode - 2x HDMI 1x VGA - 1080p - About three months old (I know it's not that old, but that ultrawide is so good and I'm choosing to sell it now rather than have it's value go down with age. Probably should have bought the ultrawide in the first place, but whatever) Bearing in mind that I bought this for £150 (about $250) three months ago, how much do you think I should sell for? I'd like to get as much as possible but I don't want to dissuade potential buyers by an overly high price point. Let me know how much you would pay for this monitor please! Thanks everyone

Well apparently forum hosts have to pay compensation for users that are getting insulted. So they plan on taking the freedom of speech away. I mean if someone is getting insulted why do moderators exist on forums. And in fact some people could actually use this system to their advantage. Provoke a person and then make it seem like he/she insulted them first. source http://www.spiegel.de/netzwelt/netzpolitik/gerichtshof-urteilt-zu-beleidigungen-in-nutzerforen-a-1039058.html Couldn't find any source in English so bear with Google translate.

What happens when you miss getting out of the gates? Well, you miss out on money apparently. You see, when Apple Pay was launched, Apple had the leverage due to their tokenization implementations and the banks were willing to give up a slice to Apple because of the security features, a year later however VISA, MasterCard (and others I imagine) have finally standardized those implementations and made them free. What does this mean for Apple? Well, two years down the line they likely will have no more slice. What does it mean for Google? They don't get a slice at all, since they were late to the game and didn't have the leverage Apple had. Its a small slice, sure, but when you factor in the millions (if not tens of millions) of users and the god knows how many transactions, those fees would add up handsomely. I think this is even sadder when Google had mobile payments so long ago yet, in typical Google fashion, sat on their asses with it and never pushed it until after Apple showed up and crapped on the mobile carriers and their closed off payment solutions. http://www.wsj.com/article_email/google-loses-key-mobile-payment-feesgoogle-misses-out-on-apples-slice-of-mobile-transactions-1433546638-lMyQjAxMTE1NjA2NTYwMzU2Wj

This one is a little bizarre. By the very nature of Apple Pay, Apple doesn't know what you buy. Its the whole point, no transaction info is really stored at any point. So how they would institute a rewards program baffles me. Maybe they will start integrating individual chain memberships so you can scan with your membership card before you pay? Or something? I'm not sure. Maybe this would even be a "Oh, you used Apple pay to make this transaction, here are 15 cents in iTunes Credit" or something? The only thing I can think of that would allow Apple to avoid collecting information about what you purchase yet still give you something back for using Apple Pay? http://www.theverge.com/2015/5/27/8675679/apple-pay-rewards-program-adding-wwdc

Rooting the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge will disable Samsung Pay
Victorious Secret posted a topic in Tech News
Go Samsung Go? I can see why this might happen for Samsung. Rooting can give access to things you shouldn't otherwise have access too, can lead to all sorts of security headaches, maybe to preserve the secure nature of their payment system they opted to brick it in the event you root. Don't know if I really agree with that, then again you don't own the software you get on those phones and Samsung is entirely allowed to do what they want on that end. C'est la vie, I guess. http://www.sammobile.com/2015/04/21/thinking-of-rooting-your-galaxy-s6-or-s6-edge-dont-or-youll-lose-this-important-feature/ -
as the title said does it worth pay for it or should I just "get it by other way"

Apple is in talks with six Canadian banks for mobile payment service’s first venture outside the U.S. It is about bloody time that Apple (or the Canadian banks, who tend to have a stick up their butts) got this going in a serious manner. Sure, a November release isn't that great, but its better progress for Canada than any other mobile based system that isn't locked to a carrier. Canada has had mobile payments for a while now, if you were with certain carriers. But that is stupid and dumb. Apple Pay, more so than Google Wallet, was the first real proposition that was carrier agnostic and just worked. Or should, if the banks don't screw this up. The Canadian banks want additional security placed on the system to ensure authenticity of the user who is adding their card to the Apple Pay system, which is actually great, but whether this delays the proceedings who knows, Its not even assured that all 6 banks will make the move. Being able to use Apple Pay however is something I'd switch banks for. When you have any amount of money, switching banks isn't a hassle. I'll transfer over my accounts to the bank that embraces the forward move. TD, I hope you get on board with this. I applaud the idea that I can just use my phone as my payment solution. Most days during work and school, I don't have my wallet on me. I do have my phone. If I can add up my AMEX, MasterCard and debit cards to my phone, I ain't even mad. thats very convenient for me, and I'd argue for a lot of people. Apple is making the push that Google should have made years ago, they should've taken this more seriously. Canada is a contactless payment heaven. I don't remember the last time I actually had to swipe a card. If only the regulatory agencies and banks got with the program already. http://www.wsj.com/articles/apple-pay-plans-to-launch-in-canada-this-fall-1429280816

Hey guys, I just wanted to make this post because it's something I've been noticing a lot when I'm watching a certain streamer. There are bots that go around in the larger twitch channel chats in which fake/phishing links are pasted, but if you aren't on mobile, chances are you aren't going to see what they look like. I use the Android Twitch app a lot, and when a message gets deleted in chat, it doesn't show in the mobile chat, you'll see the warning for that person, but the message won't actually be deleted for you, this is where I managed to get a screenshot of one of the phishing links. I CANNOT FORE-WARN YOU ENOUGH. DO NOT GO TO THE LINK SHOWN IN THE IMAGE, IT WILL STEAL YOUR ITEMS/DRAIN YOUR STEAM WALLET. I AM NOT AT FAULT IF YOU ARE DUMB ENOUGH TO GO TO THE LINK. Here are the images: Link to post: http://imgur.com/gallery/zQXKU/ Also, there is an older warning: http://imgur.com/gallery/FNviTdG Take note of both, and stay safe out there, folks!

The long and short of Android Pay isn't exactly like Samsung Pay int he sense of having a payment method, but rather offering up an entire framework akin to how Apple has setup Apple Pay - allowing developers to design apps with secured transactions in mind and giving them access to the tokenized system that already exists. Think of it this way, Samsung Pay is just the answer to "how can customers pay" while Android Pay is going to be the entire underlying system of APIs for everyone to hook into and use. http://www.androidcentral.com/google-launching-their-own-payments-framework-android-pay

BlackBerry is trying a new tactic to lure customers back — by paying them to switch phones. The Waterloo, Ont.-based smartphone maker says it will pay iPhone users as much as $600 to switch to a BlackBerry Passport phone. Canadian iPhone users with iPhone 4s or later makes are eligible for up to $400 in trade-in value, depending on the model of the iPhone, plus a $200 top-up from BlackBerry. U.S. users are eligible for up to the same amount, plus a $150 US top-up. Users with the newest iPhone 6 model are eligible for the highest trade-in value, up to $400. http://www.cbc.ca/m/news/canada/kitchener-waterloo/blackberry-will-pay-iphone-users-up-to-600-to-switch-phones-1.2848915
