Hello everyone I am re shelling my acer spin 3 SP314-53n laptop as the plastic has deteriorated and I cant screw the hinges in anymore and the case is cracked and broken and being held together via cellotape for about a year ish + I have found the part numbers for both the cases however cannot find a palmrest (6B.HFCN5.001) with a us keyboard and I'd rather not use a uk keyboard. The parts supplier has a us keyboard separate. Would anyone know of a place where I could find one as I cannot find any that arent sold out and if not how would i switch the keyboards across?(i know its probably plastic riveted but i am willing)

Need a Little help with my config (Upgrading)
CAMoflage225 posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Budget (including currency): 100-230 Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Other details Currently running a NZXT h500i with a Noctua NH-D15 Chromax and a 3070ti FE I am upgrading to AM5, and have the motherboard and cpu on order, I am looking around for a case to upgrade to as I am reusing a big portion of my old rig to build a rig for my dad. The parts I'm taking from my old rig is the NH-D15, the 3070ti and my hx1000i PSU. I knew that the clearance of the cooler would be something I need to keep in mind when picking a case, which I've used Noctua's own compatibility centre to see. I've landed on the Lian Li o11 Air Mini, max CPU cooler hight for the case is shown as 170mm which is enough for the cooler. The issue I am having before ordering the case is that when I had the build set into PC Part Picker it gave me a note of the PSU size compared to the case. The PSU is 180mm whereas the case has a max of 200mm, which is within the confines of it, but I don't know how much of an issue that could be without having the case in front of me. I can't find a reliable source of whether this is fine for the build as the only info I can find about it is an old reddit post that hasn't been replied to. -
Hi, i'm building a pc for a friend and was wondering about the best price/quality/upgradability DDR5 RAM config. This is the first time I build with DDR5 and AM5 so I don't really know much about it yet. I had a few configurations in mind, being: - 1x16gb 6000 CL40 (= 67 euros) - 2x8gb 5600 CL40 (= 75 euros) - 2x8gb 6000 CL40 (= 80 euros) I am pairing this up with a Ryzen 5 7600 and an rtx4060 on an A620M Mobo, are those speeds overkill for that? I've heard AMD recommends 6000 for 7000 series cpu's. I've also heard that Dual channel is better than quad channel (I mean 4 sticks when when he would upgrade and add 2 extra sticks.). Also worth considering, I may use a mobo with only 2 RAM slots. So which is the better config and what do I need to consider in order to make the best choice? (Any other (better) suggestions can also help)

Budget (including currency): 600€-700€ (maybe 50€ more, but only if it really makes a huge difference) Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: GTA V, Farming Simulator19, some Video Editing, Random Games i get my hands on, Office Stuff, i already have some things in my PC PartsPicker List(prices are from there, shipping included): Ryzen 5 3500x 155,60€ Scythe Ninja 5 Cooler (i want it to be really quiet, but it can be swapped out) 49,99€ Crucial Ballistix 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory 79,97€ be quiet! Pure Power 11 350 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply (can be replaced if necessary) 51,99€ Fractal Design Focus G ATX Mid Tower Case 49.90€ total so far: 446,53€ i already got: 1tb ssd (2.5inch) 1tb shdd 2.5inch) mouse Keyboard i would want to add: at least 2tb more storage (can be hdd) graphics card of course (i thought of something like a gtx1660, my brother recommend an rx580 some time ago) motherboard of course ( i thought maybe something like the MSI B450-A Pro Max?) cheap mic, to put it on headphones (i already got headphones, but modmices are a bit to expensive, so i am interested in anything, if you find a headset that looks not to "gamerish" then that is okay to) monitor (i would really like 4k, 60hertz if possible, even if it is only going to be for watching movies etc.) i am going to buy that PC probably like in October or November this year, so a discount for the next 2 weeks isnt something i am going to be able to take advantage of all the parts can be changed if you find better things, but i think Ryzen Third Gen is a good option for this build thanks for all the ideas

I am looking for a charging port and maybe a stylus for my Acer Spin 3 314-53n. I have contacted the acer parts supplier in my country (New Zealand) and they haven't sent a email confirming it. Are there any sites that sell the charging port and have cheap shipping to New Zealand? Part Numbers: Charging Port - 50.HD4N5.006 Stylus - Maxeye NC.23811.06F

Budget (including currency): 1400 Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: General researching, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote Minecraft, Valorant, and drawing programs such as Photoshop, Krita Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): While researching, I have found that certain components, such as the GPU, are very expensive at the moment but have found that it is only really important for gaming. As this is not too much of a major necessity for my PC (more of a nice to have), I am wondering what type of GPU would be sufficient. I have additionally, been debating whether the best route would be for me to purchase a pre-built (such as iBUYPOWER) but the idea of building a PC to meet my requirements just seems too enticing. I suppose my overall question is, if I were to build a PC, what parts do you feel I should invest most of my budget into to support my needs best? Any parts you might recommend? Just looking for any advice on what I should do. Any tips are greatly appreciated, ty!

Budget (including currency): Roughly 400 AED ≈ 100 USD could be a little higher or lower if it will make a significant difference in performance. Country: UAE Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly for gaming and studying Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): https://ae.pcpartpicker.com/list/GYBrtn it's a first time build, motherboard and power supply still not decided fully so please do feel free to suggest any changes that could cut costs or better improve the build, (ps i prefer an ATX over mATX), also fans for the case are undecided on so feel free to leave some suggestions on them as well (preferably RGB fans)

Budget (including currency): £2,500 GBP ($3,000 USD) Country: United Kingdom Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Cyberpunk 2077, Forza horizon 5, Video Editing, Streaming and a load of other games. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/PVZdTn: this is the current parts list I have procured. I am mostly creating this thread to understand weather all my parts are compatible and weather my PSU has enough wattage to power this system. I am purchasing the GPU this Friday (30th December 2022). I am upgrading from a 1660 super and a Ryzen 7 2700 with 16gb of ram to the new 7 7700x, rx7900 XT and 32gb of ram. I am planning on taking drives from my current pc and putting them on the new one so I only need the 1TB NVME drive for some extra storage and can retire my HDD. I'm planning on using a 144HZ monitor playing games at 1080p and 1440p. I totally understand this is overkill but I'm trying to be futureproof for the next at least 5 years. Thank you for your thoughts

I am currently picking parts for my $550-$600 PC build, and I need some help. My dad's friend works at Intel, so he gets Intel products for half price. This is why I decided to pick an Intel Core i5 i5-7640X X-series Processor ( I know it is discontinued to the pubic, but my da still has access to it) rather than an AMD Ryzen processor, which I understand is usually the better option for a budget build. I have the other parts here -->https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wh8ksk I would like to know it the Core i5 i5-7640X X-series is compatible with the rest of the parts I have picked, since you can't find it on pcpartpicker.com Could someone please help me?

I want to build a new home computer since the old one is really slow. Budget: Under 500$ US (but as low as possible) Country: Sweden. What it will be used for: Mostly Web browsing, picture storage and light gaming like Minecraft. Other details: No peripherals or OS keys will be needed. A small computer would be optimal, but any form factor works. I have built computers in the past but they were just gaming rigs and i'm not really sure what would be needed in a home computer. Is this good? https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Wooficool/saved/#view=9NCVcf Note: This is my first post so please notify me is i'm doing something wrong (posting on wrong thread etc..)

Quick/Short version: I need to buy an intel cpu of 6th or 7th Gen to fit in the board i'm planning on using. THIS PC WILL ONLY DO THE STREAMING AND RECORDING PART! i will game on an other pc. i was wondering, since OBS use now more than ever the GPU for the heavy work, i've seen that obs use only arround 2-6% of my 7700k. So do you think i could go for like an i3 or that will be too week?(was thinking of the i3 7350k or the 6th gen i3 version of it) Detailed/Long Version) So the other day, my psu blewup on what was supposed to become my streaming(only) pc and after borrowing a psu from my job, it seams like my cpu also went down(tried it on 2 different board) so now, since i don't really want to replace the cpu(it's an FX 6300), i have a z170 intel board so i was thinking of using that board but when i got to choose the cpu to use, i started to question my self. Since this pc will only run OBS and nothing else and OBS now use Nvidia GPU for 99% of the heavy workload, do i really need an i7? i have an i7 7700k for my gaming pc and when i game while streaming, obs use only like 10% of my cpu, do you think an i3 of like 6th or 7th Gen will do the trick? i was planning on buying like a GTX 980 used for the heavy workload since my GTX 980 ti has ZERO Problem with gaming, streaming and recording at the same time so the 980 should do the job perfectly.(i Also have a GT 1030, i think i will try it just to see what kind of resolution this little thing can stream(if it can stream at all xD), i'm curious)

Hello People, I've been restoring some older Macs to usable condition. HDD -> SSD swaps, Cleaning and Thermal tune-up, Battery replacements, RAM upgrades. The restoration checklist really. I have a MacMini that I'd like to have a basic video and audio editing machine. I could likely push another 2-3 years out of these machines while running Mojave 10.14 MacOS. I could throw on older software and whatnot. But the peripherals could use work. I'm looking for an external GPU housing, because looking at the internal graphics - we're not making any serious strides. Something Mac Capable, It doesn't need to work with the new Nvidia 3080. - No closer to a 970. Enough to process video from my DSLR, my mixer for my keyboard and guitars, whatever. So with these older Macs, I'm looking at the connection types: Thunderbolt 1 and Thunderbolt 2. As I doubting USB 3.0 is going to be the way to go. Thunderbolt 3 eGPU, converting to the older connector might work. Looking to convert this MacMini into my music studio machine. And this could be a platform for other eGPUs for older Macs. - wheresmwaldo
