My friend and I put this pc part list together, but I would love if someone could take a look at this because I don't know everything about these kind of things. I will use this PC mostly for casual 1440p gaming (some competive games like Fornite and Overwatch 2). So I really want to build my first gaming PC, I have budget from around €1.300 to €1.500. I want a Intel + Nvidia, I already have 8x2 crossair RAM sticks, the monitor i get from a friend of mine and I want a good airflow case! I would really appreciate if someone would look at this and maybe give tips or point something out! Anything helps! Thank you!

Budget (including currency): $1500 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA titles and large Minecraft modpacks w/ shaders Other details: Hi y'all! I'm relatively new to PC building and am looking to upgrade my current PC after about 5 years of use. I already have all the peripherals and everything, it's just the actual PC getting the upgrade. I intend to use MicroCenter, and likely have them put together the PC for me in the interest of time, however I'm not factoring that cost into the actual build. The 1500 budget is pretty firm, and I already have put together a list I think is pretty decent. I still have a little room to play around with though, and am unsure where to best invest it, if at all. Aesthetics aren't really my main concern at the moment as I value performance more. My current PC makes use of an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, and has 32 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM and I'm looking to get as big of a performance upgrade I can. I've (hopefully) left a link to the current part list I have below and included it in text form too. I would appreciate any suggestions or tips to potentially improve, or the all clear to get ordering. Thanks! I also have personally had a hard time finding many good 3090 Ti examples to buy second hand, I have found some but the convenience of getting it new without having to deal with 3rd party is a plus. The one thing that would change my mind and make the 3090 Ti worth it for me is the extra VRAM at 24GB, compared to 12GB of the 4070 Ti. However, I don't really know what the upper limit of VRAM usage I should expect because I have been limited to 6GB for a while. Online it says that between 8-16 is great, but again, I don't know if have the 24GB would be nice to have for the future, or if it's just overkill. For the CPU I went for the K SKU, but I would be open to a non K SKU. I would like to experiment with overclocking, but the risk of some instability when I'm doing productivity work that I don't want to lose is a bit scary. I went with a WIFI mobo because at my Uni I'm not sure I'll have close access to ethernet and would like the ability to use wifi if ethernet isn't an option, and I specifically wanted WIFI 6E for the faster speeds that my Uni provides. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I already have one of these monitors and would be buying another one because I won't have my laptop screen as a second monitor. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JXCR263/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 I don't know exactly how color accurate the display is, but it seems to be rather good in my opinion, certainly better than my laptops display and the colors look natural and true to what I print, but if anyone has suggestions for more budget friendly color accurate 4k displays please let me know. Again, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Edit to add: Whoops forgot to mention budget! Definitely around what I've got so far. 1800 or so, could stretch to 2000 for the right reasons. Hey all, finally joined the forum to get in on the Foldathon. Now that I'm here, let's chat? It's time to admit my i3-6100 with R9 280X is just too old. Let's build me a whole new machine. I'm playing recent games that I don't think are the most demanding, and I'd like to get high refresh rate at 1440. Games like Overwatch, Warzone, Destiny 2, Monster Hunter World, Division 2. I've got keyboard, mouse, and secondary monitors. Here's my attempt so far, just needing the monitor added: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/epiccelt/saved/BZMXbv Video Card: The whole world seems to think that I should have a 2070S or 2080S. Every bit of searching I've done shows me the RX5700XT is way better in price/performance. Am I missing something there? Sure, I may do some streaming/recording, but I'm okay doing that at 1080 60, so to add a few hundred bucks just for NVENC doesn't seem worth it to me. Motherboard: I have no idea what I'm doing here. I've never owned a motherboard with anything other than base level features, so I don't have a clue what to look for. Monitor: Thinking 27" 1440 is the right choice for me. I can't sort whether I should go IPS or VA or what. I don't have much interest in curved but don't think I'd mind either. I've been staring at a 1080/60 Dell IPS for years, with an 8ms g2g. So anything is going to be way better.

So this is what I currently have. My dad said that if I built my own PC, he would pay for half. Awesome deal, right? This will be used for web browsing, document editing, file storage, school, very light video editing, and gaming. I'd like to play Star Wars Battlefront at 1080p high settings 50 FPS. No Man's Sky and ELITE: Dangerous as well. I'll also be doing some PS2/GameCube/Wii emulation with HD texture packs. My max budget is $750, the cheaper, the better. Hey guys I'm planning on building a NAS with 3 500GB hard drives I have using freenas with RAID-Z 1. I've put together a list of parts that is as cheap as possible, but through research, I think will work. I just want to double check with you guys before I spend any money. Processor: Intel Celeron G1620 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H61M-S1 (I realise that this board might need a BIOS update to work with an Ivybridge, but I have my 2700K so I can do that) RAM: 2GB Corsair Vengeance LP 1600MHz (I already have this laying around as test RAM) Storage: 3x 500GB 7200RPM hard drives (all different so not worried about simultaneous failures too much) Operating system drive: Generic 8GB USB memory stick (I realise that this will probably wear out fast, but I presume I can just swap it out with another) PSU: Corsair CX430 (I already have this too) Case: Silverstone SST-ML03B HTPC case I'll be using this NAS solely as a media server, so I'm not too worried about redundancy. I understand that RAID-Z 1 works somewhat like RAID 5 and that's good enough for me. Basically I need to know if the processor, mobo and RAM will be enough for freenas to run using 3 500GB drives. Another question I have is about volatility; can I turn a freenas box off when I'm not using it and expect it to be good to go again when I turn it back on? Thanks

So, I was thinking about getting into video production, but I am on a pretty tight budget of around $1000 and don't have a lot of experience with high-end video equipment. I made this partlist on Amazon with the considerations of the aforementioned budget and accessibility, but still be able to be upgradeable. What do you guys think? http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/2D4D8743FSUL9/ref=topnav_lists_2?reveal=all&itemPerPage=25

Welcome to Week 35 of the LTT Build-Off! The rules and guidelines can be found here. This week we have another Brand-Themed Build! Welcome to Weeks 9/10 of the LTT Build-Off! The rules and guidelines can be found here. This week's challenge is to make a partlist with a green and grey/gunmetal/silver color scheme with the added stipulation of using Nvidia GPUs only. You can use any form factor, and peripherals are required. You have a budget of a whopping $3,000! Tips: You have a huge budget. This is one of the few builds where you won't be constrained by money. Go crazy! A custom watercooling loop will be great for your color scheme and awesomeness factor, but don't leave out any components. For example, if you don't have a pump in your loop, your build will be disqualified. This was suggested to me as an Nvidia Fanboy build, and while I have changed it to be broader, Nvidia is still required (which fits in with the color scheme). The contest will run from Friday September 6th to Thursday September 12th, with the 10th, 11th, and 12th reserved for voting. UPDATE: voting is live, but since I was late in making the poll and we have a lot of entries, this contest has been extended one week. Thursday the 19th is the last day of voting.

Welcome to the Build-Off! The rules and guidelines can be found here. This week's challenge is to make a partlist using as many Cooler Master and Gigabyte branded parts as possible. The budget is $1,000. You can use any form factor you want and peripherals are not required (but a monitor is). This is the beginning of a few brand-themed builds. These are simply stipulations that make you use parts you might not otherwise choose. The Build-Offs are not affiliated with or sponsored by any companies or brands. Welcome to 12th LTT Build-Off! The rules and guidelines can be found here. This is a very scalable topic. You could make a barebones rig and run a minecraft server on it no problem. However, I wanted to keep things interesting, so the budget is set quite a bit higher than "barebones." It is $1,400, in fact. This PC should not have a big footprint. It is a server, so cool and quiet operation is important. For this usage scenario, peripherals are unimportant. You don't even need a monitor. Also, a good storage solution is important. You get bonus points for a NIC, which would help with server bandwidth. The contest will run from Friday September 27th to Thursday October 3rd, with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd reserved for voting. Hop to it! UPDATE: Congratulations to @Blackterror25 for winning his first build-off!

Hi guys, and another, surprise surprise watercooling checklist Parts: RAD: Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 Full Copper 360mm - White Special Edition60mil Fittings: Monsoon 13/10mm (ID 3/8" OD 1/2") Six Pack - White GPU: Palit 780 with EKWB (cause it's a great deal, 440€) CPU: XSPC RayStorm - White Edition Hose: Masterkleer PVC 13/10mm (3/8"ID) UV-active White Res/Pump: I'm totally confused with the res/pump combo. I need a tube res, cause I don't have any 5,25" bays left. How do I find out if it fits in the case, and what size of reservoir I need (NZXT H440/ If I need to Corsair 750D/Switch 810) I did some research, and I found them to be pretty good: Aquacomputer aqualis DDC 150 ml with Nanocoating, G1/4 + Alphacool VPP655 (Pretty much like all of the 655 variants) Coolant: Destilled water/Phobya ZuperZero Clear 1000ml I looked everything up on aquatuning.at, so you should find these parts fairly easy.

Welcome to Week 15 of the LTT Build-Off! The rules and guidelines can be found here. This week's challenge is simple: build a basic office/home pc for $550. This is the kind of thing your parents would use. Email, web surfing, word processing, and maybe the occasional Powerpoint or photo edit. You do need peripherals (kb + m & speakers), but not a monitor. I know that this is a departure from the recent slew of epic builds and high budgets, but hopefully this will prove to be a little more of a challenge with the budget. This contest will run from Fri. October 18th to Thurs. October 24th. Voting will take place on the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th. EDIT: Since we have so many entries, here is a tip for those voting. Look at things like the SSD and monitor first to narrow down your options, because "horsepower" is not a deciding factor to this build's quality. Also, consider the two questions to be one poll. I just can't add > 20 options to a question. UPDATE: Congrats @WoodenMarker for winning another build-off!
