I bought a corner attachment for my setup: VIVO 17 inch Corner Desk Connector Platform for Mounting Under-Desk Keyboard Trays on L-Shaped Workstations, Black, DESK-AC07S the feeling under my mat feels a lil annoying when I'm browsing the web. I think I'm able to ignore it if I'm gaming, but is there an ideal padding for this (preferably one that would also increase friction to my mat)?

Recently got this card and was unaware of the gigabyte pads, thermal issues some people have with them. I noticed cooling issues that aren't present in my tuf 6800, so I took a flashlight to the gigabyte and what do you know the pads I can see are half on some of the chips and would explain the problem I'm having. So I'll re paste and pad. This is my question what size pads to re do it all from back plate too chips? I honestly can't afford to buy 3 each from 1mm to 3 mm and everything in between. And what paste you recommend Arctic4 or kryo? Thanks for the help.

so I ran into a problem where the mouse moves perfectly when lifted by few millimeters and barely moves when i put my weight onto it I suppose the pads have gotten thinner and that causes this problem. Is there any way to recalibrate it or something of that kind cause I've already disassembled and assembled it back to the original state and i guess i would have to put a little more glue underneath the pads thanks this is the mouse= https://www.bloody.com/en/product.php?pid=10&id=107

Hello. I am creating this topic because of a problem I have encountered. Namely, I am a user of a Gigabyte RTX 2060 SUPER Gaming OC 8GB GDDR6 graphics card code:(GV-N206SGAMING OC-8GC). And I am about to replace the thermopads in the grille. However, I searched quite a bit of the Internet and nowhere could I find the thickness and dimensions of these thermopads. I would measure it myself, but there are no specialized measuring tools. That's why I'm creating this topic, because maybe I'll get some answer or someone met and has somewhere written down the dimensions of the thermopads for the described series of graphics card. Greetings Kaite

Hi! The Asus ROG Zephyrus M has a stock "thermal paste" on the VRMs. By replacing the paste on the CPU + GPU I cleaned the one on the VRMs too and applied normal MX-4 on them but I'm afraid it's not the best thing to do. I would like to put normal thermal pads (Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad) on them but i don't know the correct thickness: 0.5 mm, 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm or 2.0 mm. Does someone knows the best one? Thanks! EDIT: Bought the Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad 8 - 100 × 100 × 1,5 mm (8 W/m K). I should get it in a few weeks.

Hey im due to change out my thermal pads and thermal paste on my gtx 1080 founders Edition, i currently have a EVGA Hybrid kit on the card as a AIO cooling option until i decide if i want to actually water cool my entire rig or not. Question though is this, does anyone know the thickness of the pads needed on this reference card as im sure i was not ment to keep the stock pads on when i added the AIO, there is no thermal issues id just like to get it done when i go and change out my paste from the stock EVGA paste and use MX4. Hope you can help me thanks in advance vesp!

Okay so i know the title there was total BS but i couldn't think of anything. My Question is this I've had my ATH-AD700x Open Back headphones for close to a year now. And well the Spark is vanishing in our relationship, im unsure if its the pads that i need to replace or if its the stupid wings on the top that dont even hold them to my head correctly even with a rubber band. i need help! So I've looked all over the net and a lot of good info I've seen in the past was in the now Dead TekSyndicate forums and well it ain't available now. So if you can help me out that would be great! So i either have to attempt to keep using the current pads i have by throwing them in the washer or hand washing them [ not velour just cotton fiber like material ] OR I find some other brand headphone whose pads will fit these cans or a aftermarket that makes pads for this exact model, as im often limited to E BAY i don't trust those cheap Chinese made pads that look like plastic half of the time. I also find the headphones just don't have that sparkle they used to have and sometimes sound normalized to me if that makes sense, dull and boring. i use a fiio e10k Olympus 2 amp.

I need to replace the thermal pads for my Gigabyte GTX 780Ti Windforce, but nowhere on the internet is there an information for the thickness! Is there a site of some kind where can I find thermal pad thicknesses for aircooling video cards?

Please feel free to move me to the correct spot if this isnt right place for this, wasnt really sure where to post it, but i am looking to redo my gaming room and was gonna add some sound proofing pads (brick house with hardwood floors echos alot) but i wasnt sure if there was a difference between different pads and if there is whats the dfference?

Hey I'm replacing my stock s340 case fans with the fractal design r3 silence fans set to exhaust and wanted to make custom anti vibration pads I think I got it but was wondering if I should put some rubber around the border aswell to help air flow and possible vibration from border or is this good enough???

So Im looking to somewhat soundproof my room and I see some pads that are 2"x12"x12" and some that are 1"x12"x12", the 2 inch thick ones are more expensive. What is the difference between the 2? Would I benefit from buying the 2 inch ones?

Hello! I am getting a GTX 970M in the mail next month, and was hoping to upgrade my current GPU in my Alienware M17xR4 (660M) to the newer 970M. I have a couple questions as to how I am going to make this work properly though, as I have read threads around the internet say that the 900 series cards were made compatible with the M17xR4 BOIS and Nvidia Drivers a while back, and threads that state a modded BIOS and config file is necessary. So what gives? Additionally, what would be the correct thermal pad width, and placement on a 970M card? I am assuming the card won't ship with new pads, however I may be wrong. Thanks for the help!

There was a bit of a fuss and even a LTT video on IC's graphite thermal pads, with fairly mixed opinions on their efficiacy. But graphite "thermal pads" (generally used as "heat spreaders" rather than vertical interfaces) have already been largely developed- not just Panasonic's large variety of thicknesses and characreristics (such as their soft-PGS), but also their more recent silliconne pad filled with slices of graphite sheet stacked *perpendicular* to the plane of the pad, which they boast as having superior z-axis thermal conductivity as a result. Now, I'm ordering my first 70x70x.5 mm sheet from arrow.com now, but has anyone else been experimenting with panasonic's graphite heat speaders and interfaces in their PCs, and what are your thoughts on it? TL;DR: Panasonic has graphite thermal pads too, one of which even has the graphite stacked so the sheets are sideways to the two surfaces it's interfacing to conduct more heat across. Thoughts?

titan x maxwell fan ate its own power phases pads, i replaced them with new 1mm pads and it still ate them, can it be fixed or would you recomend getting a new gpu?

About one-and-a-half years ago I bought a func MS-3 mouse as an upgrade from a friend's old death adder. I really like the func MS-3, but the sliding pads on the bottom of the mouse have been showing some unusual wear. On two of the pads, it appears that some thin plastic film covering it has come loose and essentially "bubbled" creating an uneven surface. On the other pads, the surface just looks like it's been lightly sanded, which is normal from what I've experienced. The bubbled parts of the pads sometimes cause the mouse to be hard to move. I was wondering if it could maybe be possible for me to sand down the two bubbled pads using fine grit sand paper. What do you think would be the best solution?

Hello all! First post but I have a question that I haven't really had a lot of luck finding an answer to. I have 3 BFG Nvidia GTX 8800 graphics cards. (Yes I know, dated technology but in a Triple-SLI setup? ITS A BEAST!) Anyway with these cards being as old as they are I believe they could benefit from new thermal paste and thermal pads. QUESTION: What thickness of thermal pads do I need for the card? I don't want to tear the card apart and then put the wrong pads back in and burn up the card. Any productive help would be appreciated. Thanks!

More specifically, ones on HD8 DJs'. (The leather ones and the velour ones) I've Googled around but I'm still not sure how to clean it, and I don't want to damage them. Right now they still smell fine, I'm just wondering just in case I need to clean it in the future use. Sorry if this question is like really really really noobish, I've just never properly cleaned one.

Hi guys, ... Ok, so [Title], would it noticeably affect performance? Has anyone tried sandwiching something more conductive between a back plate and the GPU? If so, does it make a noticeable difference? I'd imagine it would, unless the backplates are good enough on their own, such that it wouldn't be a noticeable difference. Thoughts on this idea? Are there better alternatives? Is it cost effective? Etc etc?

Hey guys, I got my Razer Kraken 7.1 a few weeks ago since I wanted decent v-surround, a good mic and a USB-soundcard since I'm stuck with some onboard-crap. Well they were just as painfull to my ears after 1-2 hours of wearing them as any other closed headset that I tried (e.g. Roccat Kave 5.1, Creative Soundblaster Rage USB). I used a Sennheiser PC166 until now, also USB, but it got a little messy and I wanted a closed one. The only thing with the Kraken is that it doesnt hurt right away like the other ones, but just after those hours of use because the earpads get pushed in and let the speakers push against my ears. So I tried bending it a little and putting it under pressure for some time so it would break in but that was no success. I also like the mic on the Kraken (although my Sennheiser still was better) and I can live with the bassy sound of Razer audio-products (still prefer decent balance). I'm not that much of a fan of the idea of good headphones and a clip-on-mic, weither it's on the cable or the headphones, so I want to know the following: Do you have any idea how I could "boost" the earpads on the Kraken so they don't get pushed in so easily? I mean Linus wears them on the WAN-show almost every time and doesn't complain about pain on the ears. I already searched for replacements for the earpads themselfes but I couldn't find any and the Razer support also turned me down. Unfortunately it's too late for me to return them so I have to stick with them (gave them too much time to hopefully break in - big mistake). I will think about a way to get a decent soundcard (tending to ASUS Xonar DX 7.1) and maybe a Sennheiser PC360 with it but until then it will take some time. Thanks in advance! Kind regards, Trek

Hi again everyone, So... I was modding Skyrim and added loads of graphics mod and an ENB making the game totally stunning to my eyes, but the thing is I start to notice my 2GB Inno3D iChill GTX770 is failing on me, it just keeps running out of VRAM and CTD miserably, especially in open, flat terrains. Upon Research I found out that heavily modded Skyrim actually needs more than what I would expect, most of the forum posts indicates heavily modded Skyrim will at least need 3GB of VRAM. I got frustrated with the constant CTD and tried a lot of software methods (e.g. texture optimizer, performance mod)to try to reduce the VRAM usage but have not gained a bit success. I really don't wanna sacrifice the visual quality, so I didn't went for the visually downgrading methods. After more googling and stuff, I found out that the 4GB versions of the GTX770s, no matter for which brand, have no big physical differences from the 2GB version, except for more flash chips, usually positioned at the back of the card, around the GPU (probably because Nvidia limits the power delivery and PCB design?). I also notice the positions and suspected soldering pads (though without solder but numerous tiny pits) for those flash also exist in the 2GB versions, then I wonder: will adding VRAM to these 2GB GTX770s just be as simple as placing the flash chips and reflowing them with a hot air gun? Some examples:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127751 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133490 Then I got more into the details and found out the that the Inno3D iChill 2GB GTX770 I have, uses the GDDR5 flash chips, modle-named H5GQ2H24AFR (R2C) from SKhynix (link:http://www.skhynix.com/products/graphics/graphics.jsp?info.ramCategory=&info.ramKind=26&info.eol=NOT&posMap=graphicsGDDR5), with density of 2Gb. At the same time, the company produces GDDR5 flash with 4Gb density, but I don't exactly how it differs, is it the total capacity of VRAM? I don't know. To my curiosity, I wanted to know the answers but couldn't find a single thing about adding VRAM to graphics card on the internet, so I have came to see if there are more intelligent brains here that can unveil the truth. So to make things simple, here are the questions: 1. Generally, can lower vram capacity versions of graphics card be added vram through reflowing flash chips on the aforementioned positions? Is bio flashing or any software tweaking needed? Are there past examples and attempts, succeed or failed, being recorded and are available for reference? 2. What effect has the densities (namely 1Gb, 2Gb and 4Gb) of the GDDR5 flash chips on the outcome? Is it the total capacity or something else? I also notice there is a difference under the variable short-termed ORG., where the 2Gb and 4Gb densities, are 64MX32 and 128MX32 respectively. Thank you so much and any input is much appreciated, mods please feel free to move my post to other sections if you think my post is not related.
