Hi all, the question is straight forward, i'm looking for opinions on this active PA, besides of what a data sheet can give, already did my google search, that's why i'm looking for human subjective opinions. (Btw, i know a Yamaha, Alto, etc. will sound better, and passive PA with nice Amp + EQ + Mixer is desirable, that is out of the question). Picture so i don't get left in the dark (?) thank y'all

Just wanted to show off a couple of my racks that we use at the production company. and my 48c board. the first image (labeled rack 1) is what i use for most of our shows now. from top to bottom it consists of the following. power conditioner shure antenna and power distribution unit shure recievers bbe sonic maximizer behringer 8024 dsp presonus rm32ai main amp monitor amp the second image (labled rack 2) is how we used to run our main rack when we were using analog gear. power conditioner bbe sonic maximizer behringer 8024 dsp pra-8 preamp presonus firepod' alesis compressor presonus acp88 compressor/gate/limiter/expander antares atr-1 autotune (only ever used it once. more of a novelty) digitech studioquad patchbay splitter snake that board is the old mackie. we no longer use that at all. it was trash. the 3rd image (labeled yamahaconsole1) I included just for fun, this is my yamaha m3000a 40c. it is a 48 channel analog board and was the first soundboard to have any digital features, its fairly worthless but i collect boards so i have 15 or 20 this is just my newest addition. feel free to ask any questions in the comments.

Ok so I have a bit of a dilemma. Im a 14 year old kid who is obsessed with technology and, yes, I am in the process of beginning to work for my state at my school fixing things. I have nearly replaced the technology person who works there lol. I have been DJing dances at our school for a little while now, and they always are really good, but this next one (February 27th), me and another friend (who is basically an exact copy of me) want to pull out all the stops. Let me give a brief background. Most dances that are run by the student council, we hire a DJ for about 500$ for the two hours that he plays crappy music for us. Katy perry-Ewwww But for dances run by the music or sports boosters, me and either Dylaan, or Bwrick (both friends), DJ and we use our music teacher's PA system. Its an all-in-one thing with two speakers and they detach from the board. It works fine for most dances. But fine wont cut it when well pull out all the stops. Now my dad. He's addicted to the grateful dead, and loves his bluegrass. His initials are PA, so its only appropriate that he has the PA system for the two bands that he is in. Its a great system, the board is designed by mackie, and the speakers are Penley and Yamaha. Its sounds amazing, but its old. Now on to our idea. The gym that we use is about 21 meters long and about 14 wide (thats numbers from the running test that we do every year). Usually, the door that you walk in is facing the DJ, his table, and the speakers. The sound quality is pretty bad when you first walk in, but as you get closer to the DJ, it improves until you hit 'the barrier' beyond that the sound is like Linus watching an Asus board catch fire. Ewww. Only a few people go up there, and their ears are broken anyway. Our idea is to, instead of two speakers in the front, as usual, is to do one in every corner, and if possible, one in the front of the DJ table, for those people that love to dance in the lights that we use. This would create almost, a circle of sound, whereas no matter where you turn, the sound is always there, which would make for maximum awesomeness and trip ball-ness. Now, my dads system is modern-ish, and has L/R connections for the speakers, which is what we need. A few songs have notes that pan from left to right, and this got Dylaan and I thinking. What if we could, on a few monstercat-ish songs put the sound from speaker to speaker, in a circular pattern, kind of like a tornado of sound. This has, in the 21 years our school has been around, never been done, and would be so cool. Don't you agree? So this is where the community, you guys come in. We need your help trying to figure out how to do this. We have all the gear, but we just need to figure out how, because this is truly a difficult task to do. Note: We will be using my laptop, a Macbook Pro, so unless I can dual-boot soon (Hopefully) then only mac osx programs will work. I will use USB with a pre that I have to connect to the board via XLR. I have all the cables, and the board has 8 XLR inputs, so I would say we're all set. Spotify will be our program of choice, since I already own a premium account. Thanks for any help I can get. I

Yes, this is a review on a monitor. A monitor that I think barely exists in most places anymore. Or if it does, its using different names. It comes off as a slightly cut rate PA238Q. It has some missing features, but nothing entirely crippling, so if you want a better look at this monitor I suspect you could read PA238Q reviews and you'd be good. But here we go... The Box The packaging was pretty solid, though I wasn't entirely down with the panel facing down in the box, which would've seemed pretty nasty should a sharp object impact the box, but the thing arrived safe and sound to me and was very tightly packaged with foam that didn't disintegrate from simply being touched. I hate cheap foam that does that. Included in the box In the box you get a VGA cable, DVI cable, power cable and the USB cable that powers the 4 USB 2.0 ports on this monitor. You get a few manuals and warranty things and a nice enough table tie to keep everything tidy in the rear. Nothing else to touch upon here. The monitor is VESA compatible, which is nice for those who like the whole mounting thing. I/O You get your HDMI, DVI, VGA and DP 1.2 inputs here, along with a input for the USB 2.0 ports and the audio in to make use of the rather limited speakers that exist inside the monitor. It isn't that amazing if I am honest. The speakers kinda suck. Better to be there than not, I guess. But they still suck. You've been warned. Using It The adjustments on the monitor are lovely. You can position it however damn well you please. Its almost one handed at times, things are "tight" but not "too tight" if that makes sense. The monitor stays where you leave it. The calibration on this monitor was almost spot on the money for how my laptop screen is calibrated. In fact, it was so close, I didn't bother adjusting anything, it was well beyond the level of work I will be doing on this monitor, so I have yet to do a proper calibration on it. Its a 75Hz panel, and since my rig can push most games 60-80fps on balls to the walls settings, this is actually perfect for now. The colours are pretty nice, the built in modes (gaming, night, movie, etc) work well enough for what they are meant to do. I left it in the default sRGB mode for gaming, since the colour reproduction was spot on and lovely to see. This might not be a gaming monitor but it sure works as one. Who Is This For? This isn't your average cheap IPS monitor. I got mine for 199.99 from Memory Express and its probably one of the cheaper ways to get into a calibrated monitor with pretty snappy pixel response (I used this for gaming as well). The QR seems to be missing some features from the Q model (it doesn't have picture in picture or a completely customizable "user" mode; here is a full list compared to the Q model. It is lovely to note that the QR has the same calibrated IPS panel as the Q, so they didn't skimp on the quality of the thing. There are several differences between the PA2238Q and PA238QR. Both have the same IPS LCD and the button layout is the same on both - on the right side of the display. The button functions differ between models. The other differences: The QR has speakers and a Line-in port while the Q has a headphone jack The QR has a"human presence" detector which turns the monitor on/off if it detects you are in front of it. (Not on Q) The Q has an input selector button to switch between HDMI/Displayport (Not on QR) The Q has a PIP/PBP mode to view two inputs at once (not on QR) The OSD has more control over precise colour adjustment on the Q model. The display presets on the QR have a "Game" mode and "Night View" mode (not on Q) The Q has a totally configurable "User" mode. The Q model has a"quickfit" button that gives onscreen patterns for grids, paper sizes or photo sizes According to documentation, the Q model includes a DisplayPort cable but not included with the QR. Who is this for again? For people who need a nice, cheap IPS monitor with excellent lighting (though it does have a bit of bleed) and something that has a healthy amount of inputs. HDMI, DVI, DP and VGA. Also has audio in from your PC though to be blunt the speakers are very weak and nothing to brag about, but they are serviceable if you need to use them in a pinch.
