CPU Usage stuck at 0.79GHz, This issue started happening after I overclocked my monitor. Used ThrottleStop to disable BD PROCHOT, It fixed the issue for about a day and next day when I try to start my PC it just shuts down after trying to boot into windows and keeps restarting the same process, Temps are under 50 on idle and never go above 60 at full usage. Any help would be appreciated. SPECS: Motherboard: MSI H110M-ECO Processor: Core i5-6500 GPU: ASRock Challenger RX 6600 PSU: Corsair TX650 RAM: 2x 8GB 2133MHz DDR4

Hello all, been having issues with my CPU for the past few weeks. Some days its ok, other days its not. About 2 Days ago, I bought new thermal paste and it worked like a peach until today. It makes me curious on what the issue actually is. A few months ago, I replaced some fans, and made sure the directions are correct. My water cooler seems ok, so Im really stumped. Here's all the stats I got from my sensors on my CPU. Is my CPU toast? I don't really know what I'm looking at other than high temp ofc. This SS is from just watching a YT video

Hello, I have been having issues regarding my CPU temperature spiking. It is something that (obviously) should not be happening, as I have water cooling, sufficient fans and thermal paste. I had really bad temp issues about 5 months ago, and I figured out my fan layout was incorrect and needed new thermal paste. I did this and the issue was now been fixed. However the problem has crept up again however its slightly different. When I turn on my PC for the first time, the issues show. Temperatures reach ~100oC (at its worst, so playing games) and back down again to ~70oC. The spiking pattern is concerning me as I'm pretty sure it was a more steady figure 5 months ago. I don't think its a sensor issue as my computer does suffer a lot while happening, it runs painfully slow. Maybe my CPU was damaged from the previous incidents, heck could be some weird bitcoin mining virus that works in short bursts to stay hidden. (I think I have shown plenty here that my computer knowledge is very limited). A handful of the times the PC has turned itself off due to this issue, particularly if I am watch YT. As a temporary fix, I currently turn off my PC, leave it for 10 mins and come back. After that, the temperature is still high-ish like 70oC-80oC range, but manageable enough to play with my friends I use a AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU Obviously I would prefer not to replace it, as I am not made of money but if I am to, I would love to get some suggestions in £100 range Many thanks for reading Henry aka Progue

Last night saw that Gigabyte Center had some updates for me and just updated everything without even looking. Turns out one of those updates was a bios update for F20 and since I've updated my CPU has been overheating to anything I open. Before I would average around 38 to 50 Celcius now opening any application shoots me to 70 - 80 Celsius causing my fans to go to 90-100%. I tried doing a fresh Windows install and that did nothing, then Q Flashed an even newer bios F21, which helped a little bit now my idle is back to 35 Celsius but opening any application still shoots me up to 70 Celsius. I tried downgrading back to F8 (which I think I was on but not entirely sure) but no change there. Could use the help and if you need any info I'll do my best to provide it. UPDATE: SOLVED! the 24 pin cable from the pump to the commander core wasn't seated properly. Thank you so much to everyone who replied This is my first PC build so apologies if I'm missing something obvious For starters, here's my parts list https://pcpartpicker.com/list/znzDkJ Relevant parts (I assume) are intel i7-13700k, MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI ATX LGA1700 Motherboard, GameMax GX Pro Rampage 1050 Power Supple, and Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX XT 65.57 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler PC will boot up fine, all fans including the ones on the cooler seem to be running, but cpu temps quickly rise to the point where I get a warning in about 5 minutes and then I have to shut it off. Because of this, I havent been able to install windows yet and use iCue software to help diagnose problems with the cooler. BIOS is also showing fan speed is at 0 despite the fact that pump tach header is plugged into CPU_Fan1 on the MB. I've reseated the cooler a few times, the pre-installed thermal paste looks like it's distributed fine. Diagnosing is hard because again, I get so little on-time before I have to shut it off Additionally, turning the PC on will trip the breaker in my office about 2 out of every 3 times; this room is drawing a fair amount of power as-is, so I assumed that was all it was, but now I'm concerned I've wired something wrong and the CPU is drawing way too much power, causing both issues Would love some thoughts as to where I should be looking, my apologies if I failed to include any relevant information. Thank you so much in advance

i had overheating problems early(ish) 2023 until i upgraded some parts (cpu, aio, mobo) and it was all solved, until recently, my cpu(r9 5900x) started to have overheating problems, where i turn the pc on and it is on 90c and rises to 110 where it crashes in a minute or two. i can feel the vibrations in the pump but cannot feel air coming from the top of the radiator, i cleaned the radiator with compressed air and reapplied thermal paste but i am still having the problem, should i just buy a new cooler or is there an easier fix?

So my friend build a PC for doing Astro photography and he has a ryzen 9 5950X. When the CPU is at idle the processor sits around 45 - 70 C and fluctuates a good bit. I’m not used to this and don’t think this is normal operation. He has a NZXT AIO with a large rad and two 240mm fans. This setup should idle around 35 if my instincts are correct. What could be the issue here?

I have this case https://amzn.eu/d/74v61Zr The max temps on cpu is 68 C(during cinebench r24) and gpu remains between 74-82 (gaming 1440p max) . The gpu is msi ventus 2fans 4060ti oc. Ambient temps are around 18 C and during summer it will get over 42C. One of relative said that this much heat specially in summer will damage the components soon. My understanding is that modern components are really durable but I fear I might face thermal throttling. Also front panel is solid I don't think putting fan there will be much beneficial

Hi, I bought a refurbished HP Pro/EliteDesk 600 G3 SFF from Amazon for 120. Then a RX 550 4G LP for 35. Budget build. ISSUE: The GPU keeps overheating and causing games to crash. I tried adjusting fan settings and it is still happening. Gets to like 92 or 93 Celsius then crashes. Took it apart and thermal paste seemed fine but maybe I could redo that? ANY OTHER TIPS? I know these things have poor airflow but I have seen many videos of dudes online with similar set-ups. Also card only draws 35-40 watts with a max of 50. One small fan. Please give me some options or just tell me this was a failed experiment. Thanks!

To start, I am typing this on my phone because I no longer am able to turn on the computer for more than a few minutes without it overheating. Things I have tried already: Check AIO for flow, check cpu-to-cooler connection, apply new thermal paste, check task manager for high processes, and clean the PC I have had this NZXT pre-built pc for years now, but only about a month or two ago did I start experiencing issues with overheating. What normally would happen is that each time I would try and fix the problem, (with what I tried being above) the PC would work great for a couple days, then go back to overheating. I have continued to try and solve the problem myself, but I have no idea what else to do since I genuinely cannot startup the PC for more that a few minutes before it turns off on the home screen with only minor background processes (about 4% cpu load according to NZXT cam and my task manager). With that yap session aside, how could I go about troubleshooting from here, I am desperate to try and fix it without buying new components if possible, as well as reinstalling windows, as I don't have an external drive to save my data on. And just to make sure I wasn't stupid, I set up my PC in the middle of the room on the table with the air set to 68° inside and a fan on to see if airflow was the issue. Please Help! Hi i've recently changed mobo to B550 Plus Tuf gaming and i was surprised how cpu fan was quiet compared to old board. Now I know that it's issue. I can't play normaly and OC CPU. In Ryzen Master it shows very high temp but in BIOS and Asus AI Suite 3 it only shows 11c degrees. I don't know what's the problem. Can you help me to fix it? How should i approach it. Is the motherboard damaged?

So my computer at work recently became very loud (100% Fan speed) My CPU is Intel i5-4460. Mainboard is... ...whatever the crap Lenovo made...(Its a Lenovo prebuilt) I checked temps with hwmonitor(on Windows) and lm-sensors(under Ubuntu) and they both show Package temp 89-90°C. core temps however stay between 25-40°C depending on load. I haven't noticed any throttling. Performance is still good (for an old i5). Everything works just fine other than fans being very loud. Fans spin up to about 50-ish% on power on (which is normal) and right after BIOS self check(after the beep) fans go to 100%. I'm thinking that the CPU is reporting wrong temperature because in what world would an entry level i5 go up to 90°C in 3-4 seconds after boot while keeping Cores at 25°C with no throttling even after hours of on-time. Was there a faulty microcode update in last few weeks? I don't have another LGA1150 CPU to test... What I have tried so far: -I cleaned computer from dust(there was not a lot of dust, because I cleaned it about a year ago) -I repasted the CPU but haven't noticed any difference. -Booting from Live USB Ubuntu - Ubuntu is reporting same temperatures. I never had this problem before. Any ideas?

Hello everyone I need some help I have rtx 2080 super and 5600x Ryzen in a big case with 4 intake 120mm fans and 2 exhaust 120mm The 2080 is overheating to 84-85c and starts throttling to little below 1800 and goes up and down but the 84c stays constant. The CPU is staying between 50-60 mostly 50 with the fans on on half speed so in my mind the air pressure is ok in the case. Things I tried: Before the 2080 I had 3060 that was doing exactly the same but in a bit smaller case with 3 intake fans.( 2-140 1-120) I tried undervolting it but it didn't change the temperature I placed it close to the window so that it takes fresh cold air witch lowered only the CPU temps. Just yesterday I repasted it and fully cleaned it Drivers are up to date I've noticed that in Dx12 runs hotter but maybe is just placebo

my single fan rtx 3060 is getting to 85C in games even after new thermal paste

So I noticed my laptop was overheating and I decided to open it up and blow out dust from fans and coolers (there was a lot) after that i decided to stress test the laptop. This is Prime95 running for ~15 min on stress test settings. Is CPU being pegged at 100 C normal, this was with Performance mode on, when on balanced mode it would get up to 90-95 c for a min or so and then drop to 87 c, along with core clocks dropping from 3.1 to 2.6 - 2.7 Ghz. On battery saving it would peak at 67 c while not going above 2.1 Ghz. In reviews i managed to dig up the reviewer said that it would peak at 80 c when running prime95 stress test(didn't mention the performance mode, but i doubt it was battery saver). Will these temps cause problems, I've had the laptop for 18 months now, and it was probably running like this all the time (although only on balanced or power saving modes) and not being stress tested. Laptop Specs are as follows: CPU: AMD R7 5800h RAM: 16Gb GPU: RTX 3050

Hi everyone, first time posting on here. As the title says, my PC is constantly overheating even under the lightest CPU load. So far, I've updates all my BIOS, cleaned the PCs out as much as I could, reseated the cooler and applied a new dose of thermal paste. Any other steps are beyond me, so I would greatly appreciate any suggestions on what to do next. I've attached a screenshot of the heat situation as I am typing this out. This issue does not apply to the GPU which is sitting at around 34 right now. PC specs: Running Windows 10 Case, Cooler & Power Supply: NZXT H1 v1 (stock 650W 80+ Gold PSU, 140mm AIO Watercooler) CPU: Ryzen 5 3600XT Motherboard: ROG STRIX B550-I Ram: Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB GPU: Nvidia 2080 super Memory: 2 NVME Internal SSD 1TB + 500 MB Happy to provide any more info, just looking for solutions with minimal money expenditure.

Hi there! I am posting on behalf of my husband. We are both music producers who use FL studio for our work and within the past two days he's been having some cooling issues with his CPU for no apparent reason. His CPU is an i9 9900k. When he's idle, temps are fine and they will be fine for a bit when he's working, but occasionally temps will spike into critical. (Over 100c°) My thought is that maybe his thermal paste needs replaced but I'm not entirely sure. I know a little bit about pcs but not all too much. He's had his pc for a little over 2 years and does work on it on an almost daily basis. He did recently instal an M.2 SSD but I wouldn't think that would have anything to do with the cooling. Any advice or suggestions is more than welcome. Thank you!!!

I have an ROG Zephyrus M16 (2022) which has an Intel i9 12900H and an RTX 3070ti. At around a year old, the CPU's temperatures started to gradually increase. I took the laptop to the store to see if ASUS's warranty could do anything about it, but they said the temps were all fine. Around 3 months later, the problem has gotten bad enough that at idle the laptop averages 90C. I already tried cleaning the fans, the vents, updating all possible software (Windows, drivers, BIOS), and no of it worked. So I even tried repasting the laptop with Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut. However, even with the complete repaste (I made sure to apply it correctly), the laptop is still idling at around 90C. I even tried a laptop cooling stand and nothing changes. Of course when I play games the laptop stutters as the temperature is stuck on 95C immediately. When I first got the laptop, I got around 300 FPS in valorant and as a reference, now I get 50FPS - 150FPS (FLUCTUATES A LOT - basically stutters/ frame skips). The GPU's cooling is completely fine and arguably spectacular as it almost never goes above 60C and idles around 40C. Please help, I have no idea what to do next. I've attached a screenshot of my Armoury Crate at idle.

I feel that the right left hand side of laptop little bit heating my hand. it increase by the time so I tried to find it by opening the laptop. I saw a little chip which is like a processor. So, why it's overheating in Hackintosh. why not on windows and linux. It not generate to much heat at a time. The heat increase by the time. In 2-3 hour it goes around 85c degree in inside. Outside around 50c. It could damage the motherboard. Anybody can help me! to find out a solution. Please.

Hello! I just bought two Asus Tuf 3070 for me and my buddy. Theyre running quite hot 85% GPU core and 105 Hot Spot during Heaven, Furmark and Unigine Superposition and lowers clockspeeds from around 1950 to 1700 mhz. The fans are at 100% This happens during more demanding games aswell. Theyre both running stock with unchanged power limit and Ive checked with HWInfo recording that the fans are working as intended. Card looks good and clean physically, no damage to the pins either. You guys reckon it could be bad thermal paste?, Or something else? Theyve probably been mined on for 1-2 years. I bought it on a selling platform here in Sweden where we can still return the item within 14 days, im not sure whether I should open it and ruin the sticker (seller might be peeved) Thats why im asking for advice. Thanks in advance for any help

Basically what the title says. I've had the card for a few years, and I'm not too knowledgeable about card degradation, but I feel like that's not what's happening here (inb4 need to replace). Only one single part of the card temp is actually spiking that high, while the other two sensors are reading stuff normally around 70 and 75 (sometimes a bit higher). It used to be that I'd be able to play high-end games at max graphics while streaming and it wouldn't overheat. But now, if I'm just chilling and not streaming, it'll overheat, sometimes even if it isn't on max graphics. I'm worried something is wrong with the card, but I've no ide why. The important specs for my computer are included in the screenshot, which shows my temps. This happened earlier today and I immediately closed the game I was playing, which was tetris effect (not in vr mode) After shutting it down, it immediately went down to these levels These were actually done with my fans all blowing at 100%, and it was worse than earlier when I didn't have them that high. I'm confused and worried. My case shouldn't be a problem, and I've been dusting semi-regularly (last dusting was a month ago). Oh, and my case is the Corsair D500 Obsidian, which I'm assuming has decent airflow, and even if not, these temps still happen with both side panels off. It should be worth mentioning, that there was a defining point that this all started happening, it didn't gradually occur. Just one day the temps started spiking like crazy. Also, overall gpu temps have just been much higher than normal since this point, not just the random one part getting super hot. Wat do?

Hi, long time viewer first time poster. Ive had a Gigabyte 2080 Super Windforce OC for about 3 years now. The card doesn't thermal throttle, though it does get VERY loud frequently. The fans seem to jump from about 60-70% to 100% for a minute and back down. Here's some information about my system and ideas to fix it, it would help me a lot to get some opinions on this. The card was originally in a mid tower with a glass panel, and has now been moved into a ITX case (with good airflow, the Hyte revolt 3) With the switch I also changed from Intel to Amd. The card and case are clean. I have exchanged the thermal paste of the card before. I found it was very dried out, and changing actually fixed it for about 1 month before it was back to its loud old self. Here's some system specs: Ryzen 5 7600 2080 Super 16gb DDR5 Asus Strixs ITX mobo Windows 11 I feel like the card runs hotter because of some manufacturers defect, I got it new but discounted on ebay. I've thought about 1. liquid metal instead of the thermal paste to fix the drying out issue, and 2. deshrouding it and putting on 2 be quiet case fans. The visuals of the card aren't important, and voiding the warranty doesn't matter since its run out anyways. Thank you for any and all help. :)
