So I’m looking for a add on to a present for my grandfather and he just joined a band, and needs a set of over ear headphones. (As he prefers them to iems) so I’m looking for a set with good resolution (to hear all the instruments on stage well) and good isolation for about $30. My grandfather is a bass player if that helps. Edit: I can do up to $65

Hi, My previous headphones (Asus ROG Vulcan Pro) got used up in around a year and a half. The earpads came apart on them and after that the internals got screwed up somehow and I couldn't use the microphone and I only had sound trough the right speaker. I threw it away and now I would like to buy a pair of over the ear headphones for Christmas. The two contenders right now are around 200 euros. Sony MDR-1AB and Sennheiser HD 569 Both of them are comfortable and sound good. They have detachable audio cables although I'm not sure how easy it would be to find replacements for them, because the Sennheiser one has a hook in it that keeps it attached to the headphones. I saw on amazon that it's quite easy to find replacement earpads for Sony. Not sure about Sennheiser, maybe earpads from other models are compatible with this one. Has anyone had any experience with them? Or can you recommend something similar or better in this price range or cheaper?

Been searching a few days now for a Streaming/Gaming Wireless over ear headset (Keep in mind that it needs to have microphone) So far i've looked at: 1. Siberia 800 2. Astro A50 3. Astro A40 4. Corsair Void Pro RBG Wireless Budget, about 200USD. Anyone have a better alternative than any of these or got a reccomendation for one of these over the other? Keep in mind that i'm looking for a resonable priced wireless headset, it's a lot to ask i think.

Hi, My Sennheiser 4.20s recently broke and are out of warranty... I would like to buy a new set of headphones mostly for PC use including gaming, music and watching Netflix. I have a dedicated mic so don't need to have one on the headphones. I'm looking to spend around £100 but can probably push it a little higher if necessary. Any help would be most appreciated

I'm looking for new set of headphones for under $300 US. For me the priority is comfort, my current pair (Sennheiser Momentum 1.0) clamp down a little too hard and after an hour or so cause a really annoying ache on the tops on my ears due to my glasses. That said I still want a decent audio experience, I'm just willing to compromise to an extent. I need to stay with something closed back as I do use them on the underground everyday. I would like the option to be wireless but it's not at all essential. My main uses are Music, Audiobooks and gaming, in that order.

Hello, I need over ear headset for office with deep bass and comfortable mic mute button. The budget is 100€/110$ USD. Also, it is important that it would cancel noise from both outside and inside, that nobody could hear me listening to loud music. Thanks!

Hello everyone, I am currently looking into buying new headphones. I currently have the Hyper X Cloud 2's and I feel that they are too weak in terms of bass. I want a pair of over ear headphones in the price range of around $200 CAD. I am mainly going to be using them for gaming and listening to music. I play a lot of FPS games like CS but I also listen to a lot of Hip-Hop and Rap so I enjoy heavy bass. From what I understand, open headphones are the way to go for gaming but you loose out on the bass . I also would like a pretty comfortable pair that are not going to hurt my ears after 6+ hour sessions. I heard that the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x are pretty nice for bass, but I also heard that they are not that great for gaming. I noticed that these Sennheiser's are on sale for a good price right now here, but I assume they have weaker bass because they are open. I am essentially trying to find the sweet spot, powerful bass but still good for gaming for example, hearing footsteps. Anybody have some recommendations? Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for some over-ears that are extremely comfortable. I currently have the ATHM50x's atm and they're fantastic, especially at their price point, but I can only wear them for 20-30mins before having to endure a headache for however long a period i'm wearing them. I get headaches quite easily from headphones so I was after some headphones that offer the 'best' comfort as well as sound quality. No budget (within reason) as I would be willing to spend whatever need be to have some high quality comfortable headphones. Any suggestions e.g if open headphones provide more comfort over closed etc. Thanks a lot

Sorry. Had to make another new topic. If you don't have time or don't want to help, you are at the wrong topic then. So. As you may or may not know. I want to buy new headphones. I have been looking for a perfect pair over 3 months now and still no perfect pair found. I have been looking for these: (beware, the list will be long...) Over-ear: AKG K550 AKG K167 Tiësto Audio Technica ATH-M50x Beyerdynamic DT660 Beyerdynamic DT770 pro 32 ohm Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro Plus Sony mdr-1a On-ear: AKG K67 tiësto Sennheiser Momentum On-ear Sony mdr-v55 Sennheiser HD 25 Basic Edition In-ear: Shure SE215 Sennheiser Momentum In-ear Sennheiser IE60 And then the requirements:(Beware, these will be strict.) Durability: Will last at least two years. Sound quality: Good and accurate. Perfect bass. Looks: Beautiful. Not feeling awkward with them outside. Comfort: You will forget you are using them. I want to be able to listen 3 hours straight. Noise isolation and Sound leakage: You can go to airplane and being able to hear the music without raising the volume too much. Minimal sound leakage if possible. Where I would use them for?: Everything. Casual listening from my phone and laptop, gym, travel, walking to school, gaming about once a month, movies, internet radio and slight audio monitoring. I basically listen to every musical genre except jazz, classical and opera. Any audiophiles, casual listeners and fashion experts tell me your opinion. And also you have to pick one. Which one of those headphones from the massive list would you pick that fits every requirement I want to thank everybody that replies to this and everyone who reads this. I spent 2 hours on this. I would really like to finally find my perfect headphones. I don't have an opportunity to listen or try any headphones so I have to trust peoples reviews...

hello guys, Im shopping for over ear cans under cad$300. Looking for: -mobility (light, foldable, in line volume rocker) -sound quality -durable (preferably, but still light) -comfortable -looks I've been eyeing on urbanite xl for awhile now but I'm not sure if its the right one.
-
I'm mainly gonna use them for gaming, watching movies, and video editing, so the main features I prioritize, from highest to lowest, is comfort (being able to wear for long periods of time), sound stage, clarity/flat frequency response, sound quality (if its any different from clarity), volume(?), and finally build quality. any other features I might not have added are probably beyond my knowledge (which means I don't know them enough to care about them, probably) my top choice for now are the Sennheiser HD518's, since it's just at the max price point of $150 here in the Philippines, and my second choice is the Superlux HD681 EVO's (even though it's not totally open headphones, it's cheap enough for me to consider it). would I experience a very big difference between the HD518 and the HD681 EVO? if not then of course I'll just get the Superlux but of course the point of this post is to ask for more recommendations from you guys. so with a $150 budget, and the priorities I put up, what would be the best bang for my buck headphones? please do note that I'm probably gonna buy only once, so I won't have a chance to buy another one if the one I get isn't good enough. and remember that I'm looking specifically for headphones, not headsets. so please no HyperX Clouds and such. I know they're great, but I also know that for the same price that actual headphones would do a better job.

Hey guys, looking for a good set of over ear headphones in the 150-170 dollar range, they dont need a mic, and if they do, it has to be removable. I wear glasses all day, and have a big(er) head, I know, double whammy right? I would be using these headphones in long periods of time, so they have to be comfy. I am also going to be using a ModMic, but it looks like that would mount just fine. I will be using these for Voip (TeamSpeak, skype, ETC.) so they cant leak enough audio to have the mic pick it up. I have already tried the audio technica m50x but they got uncomfortable after a decent amount of time and I have tried the Sennheiser hd 380 pro and they were uncomfortable when I put them on, and they didn't get any better. EDIT 2: what about the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO? EDIT: Also, with a recommendation, do you also recommend an Amp/DAC? EDIT 3/UPDATE: I have decided to pick up a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770 Pros, and they are awesome, thanks for the help.

Is it worth getting the over ear version? I know people who think the on-ear version sounds a lot better. Is there a big difference in portability too?

Hey LTT community I have pretty much zero knowledge in the audio department of technology and I wanted to get a decent pair of over ear headphones. I'm on a REALLY tight budget though, for around $30 $50ish. The reason I don't want to spend alot is because I'm saving up for a trip overseas but I also don't want to listen to music on crummy earbuds through an eight hour flight. It would also be nice if you could get the prices in Australia as something like the Audio technica ATH-M20x can cost around $70 in Australia...it sucks... Also; I don't care about looks, it just needs to be SUPER comfortable as i'm going to be wearing them for around seven hours. Also sound needs to be good. (duh)

i was recently looking to buy the JVC HA-M55X headphones, they sound amazing on the iPod, but before buying them i wanna know if they work on android sets. I have scoured everything i could find on the internet, yet I have not found on post or video that says that they are supported on android (but they don't say it doesn't either). If anyone uses this headset, please tell me if they work on android phones, and if anyone else finds anything online please tell me or just post the link in the Forum. http://www.amazon.co.uk/JVC-HA-M55X-Xtreme-Xplosives-Headphones/dp/B00D07CJQS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1389211178&sr=8-1&keywords=jvc+ha-m55x -That is the Amazon link to the headphones. Hey everyone! My current pair of headphones just broke, the headband developed a crack and eventually that grew and became a split, they are now unusable. (serves me right for getting beats i suppose) So, i am after a new set of cans, i dont want to spend any more than $350 AUD Im looking at three drastically different options at the moment: One is the Astro A40 headset, its $330 at my local JB-Hifi and seems like a solid option, with the detachable mic (i play lots of games that require communication, and my current mic is meh), and the mixamp thing included. The second option is the Sennheiser Momentum's, which are on sale for $299 at the same store, they sound pretty good however lack a microphone The final option is the Plantronics RIG, which is $170 at EB Games and is basically a cheaper version of the Astro headset, it seems like a good cheaper option I have no idea which of these headsets to go for and if anyone has had any experience with these or other headphones you'd recommend i'd greatly appreciate the help Thanks, A very confused LordTumnas EDIT: i am mistaken about the momentum's the ones i am talking about are the Momentum on ear variant, which are 299 as the regular price.
