I've been helping a buddy fix his PC issues for about 2 weeks now, and despite all of my tech knowledge and additional troubleshooting, we cannot seem to crack the case. BACKGROUND The PC is relatively new, bought new from Origin PC. It worked great for some time, and only recently started freezing. We did a fresh OS install after various very consistent issues (BSOD constantly, fixes not working, etc), hoping that would resolve the issues - no luck. We were getting DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION errors on our BSOD, so we very much thought it to be an external drive, but those have been removed and freezing persists (though not sure if it's the watchdog violation due to no BSOD). We've replaced a dated mouse and headset, removed those drives from the equation, still no luck. Bold = changed after this post was made Fresh OS install (Windows 10, from the Origin flash drive) BIOS updated to latest version, from a nearly 2 year old version. All drivers completely up to date SSDs have been checked using Samsung Magician software Origin software provided for troubleshooting, testing CPU, GPU, RAM, etc - all passed with no errors SFC Disabling unused audio output devices Checked Windows Event Viewer various times (nothing critical or seemingly related until AFTER the freeze) Checked Windows task scheduler for leads pertaining to the time range of freezes (see below) Disabled Wifi adaptor (wired ethernet, so unused - modem / router is Comcast latest default, same as mine) And More™! Despite the above, we're still encountering a HARD freeze (no BSOD even after minutes) every 2-3 days on average. Oddly enough, the freezes are happening between 4-9AM, roughly, but nothing concrete. I thought it might be X hours after no use, but that isn't lining up either. User does not have PC sleep EVER, displays don't even turn off, so no sleep / hibernation related issues, at least on an OS level (could a device be nodding out after 8~ hours of no use?). SPECS Case: Corsair 5000X Processors: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core 3.4GHz (4.9GHz Max Boost) Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 AORUS Elite WiFi Memory: 64GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 3200MHz (2x32GB) System Cooling: CORSAIR H100i PRO XT RGB System Fans: ORIGIN PC Maximum Fan Kit Graphics Cards: NVIDIA 8GB GeForce RTX 3070 Operating System: MS Windows 10 Home Operating System Drive: 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 RAID : No RAID Hard Drive: 500GB Samsung 860 EVO Series Power Supply: CORSAIR RM850 SERIES PLUS GOLD PSU Power Supply WHAT NOW? So the PC hard froze at 5AM, as well as 8AM today, after 2.5 days of no freezing (this seems to the cycle after all the above updates), heavy use (gaming, work, on 24/7). I strongly feel this 5-8AM range is some sort of lead, but I don't want to get hung up on it. The WATCHDOG VIOLATION error isn't showing up anymore since there's no BSOD, so I'm not sure if that has been corrected, or persisting in a different state. Any leads great appreciated, and with any luck, we'll fix this up and I'll learn something new! UPDATES The PC crashed at 5AM, and 8AM today - the second crash while in use, in the middle of typing. This rules out periods of inactivity being an issue. See final post, ISSUE ERESOLVED! DxDiag-Tass-0523.txt

Hello there, I recently decided to give Geforce Now a try. And i'm mostly happy with how games works, you get some input lag but its playable, especially with more "sightseeing" or "non rapid-response" type of games. What i'm not so glad about, is lack of support. I have linux PC now (along side the Windows laptop) and more than a houndred non-steam games. And gues what? You don't have official support for GFN on linux and most of the games is supported only via steam. You can have for example Witcher 3 bought on GOG, which won't work on Geforce Now while steam version is supported. Same with Tomb Rider or Divinity original sin I & II, metro, etc. If you're tech savy enough, you can make some of those hings work. It's not the same as official support thou and it's no thans to Nvidia. There are some threads devoted to those topics on Nvidia forum: About Linux: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/gfn-general-chat/20/303146/geforce-now-on-linux/ About "multistore" support: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/user/762738/432128/gog-origin-uplay-and-other-non-steam-game-versions/ I ask You for opinion and support. Leaving your imput on those threads may help to get some attention. I'm not counting on raid or anything ... but it would be kind of awesome.

She hasn't played in a while, but trying to login, Origin said it couldn't find the account. She also disappeared from my friends list. She never bought a game, but she had a big library because of the On The House program. We contacted support and they said they couldn't do anything about it. She still had the welcome email but they said it didn't help.

Hey! I have a big problem in my website. Since i moved from Apache webserver to Nginx the ads in my site are not working. I added these lines in my website config file in nginx: add_header 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' 'https://xy.hu' always; (i tried with *, but nothing) add_header 'Access-Control-Allow-Methods' 'GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, OPTIONS' always; add_header 'Access-Control-Allow-Headers' 'Accept,Authorization,Cache-Control,Content-Type,DNT,If-Modified-Since,Keep-Alive,Origin,User-Agent,X-Requested -With' always; I did nginx reload but nothing happened. i tested with curl -X OPTIONS -i https://xy.hu The answer is: HTTP/1.1 405 Not Allowed Server: nginx Date: Thu, 01 Jul 2021 21:33:48 GMT Content-Type: text/html Content-Length: 166 Connection: keep-alive Access-Control-Allow-Methods: GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, OPTIONS Access-Control-Allow-Credentials: true

405 Not Allowed

405 Not Allowed

nginx

and i tried with an external tester: HERE Any ideas? thanks

I am having issues launching games and modifying program files on my computer. I can run Discord, Steam, Origin, and Epic game clients, but cannot launch any games associated to them. All of them give me the "[insert name here] has stopped responding" error message. I have tried to uninstall applications to try to see if I have a misbehaving app, and the uninstall clients all stop responding, and has also given me this error with trying to use the "Reset this PC" in the windows recovery menu. I am unsure of what is causing the issue. I rolled back a recent windows update which didn't help; ran the sfc scan tool in command prompt which fixed some files which fixed some corrupted files, but not the root cause of my problems; and did a deep scan of my computer for viruses and malware using AVG. I also tried to download another anti-malware (malwarebytes) to try and fix this and even the installer gives me the same error. I am at a loss, any help please? I have included images of some of the apps that have run into this error. I moved titanfall2 from my external drive to my internal game drive today. I had stored it on the external drive months ago as backup. After verifying the game files I can't seem to launch the game. The orange "Play" button is gone and instead I get "Details" button and clicking on it does not produce any option to launch the game. I can't even download the game via the client, that option is gone too. What the hell is going on? My pc froze a few times during game files (Windows 10 go fuck yourself). So I had to sign out of Windows. I want to play this Legendary shooter, man.

Hey guys, I'm having a problem with Origin. And what infuriates me most is, is that this problem only affects 2 of my games that require Origin (Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Dead Space 3 respectively). The rest of the games I have that requires Origin to work, works without problems. These 2 games REFUSE to boot/start and to add insult to injury, sometimes via some miracle the games work but then the next time I try to play the game, once again the games refuse to boot... I don't know what I should do anymore. Keep in mind, that I launch all of them from Steam and not Origin itself. What could I do to solve this? Things I've tried: Reinstalling the games Verifying game files Running the EXEs with admin rights Deleting specific things like deleting shader caches, etc and verifying the game files afterwards. Thanks in advance for the help! Kind Regards PrimeSteak

Hey guys, How's it going? I'm going AMD in a few days. That means new motherboard, new processor, new everything except my ssd and hdd. (I'm giving my current build to my little brother as a birthday present) When I got my current build, I installed a lot of programs (like steam, origin, uplay, amazon games, minecraft, riot games) on D drive (1Tb HDD) instead of C (500Gb SSD) thinking that I would be able to do clean installs of windows on C drive without having to download all my programs again. However, now that I think about it I'm not sure that my programs are going to work right off the bat. Do you think that steam and other apps will launch without any compability problems? Or should I backup everything on an external drive using steam's backup and restore feature ?

I've noticed boutique builders like Origin PC, Digital Storm, and even Sager (are they technically considered a boutique builder?) offer optional premium thermal compound on their laptops for the CPU and/or GPU for about $35 each. Is this a gimmick? It feels like a gimmick. (Keep in mind I'm also a video editor, so my CPU temps go bonkersville on a regular basis.)

Hey I'm looking to rank up in TF2 on PC Origin, I'm decent on a good day and I want to fully enjoy it socially.

so as far as i know about origin games, they have different editions for each game right, for example: battlefield 4(standard edition, deluxe edition, premium edition). i went to see if titanfall 1 is available on origin.the only thing there was titanfall deluxe edition. isnt origin selling a standard edition for this game anymore?

So on a laptop I have in the house EA's Origin only shows a white screen when I turn it on. I have tried reinstalling and I got a white screen there as well! Running Windows in Safe Mode with Networking finally let me install Origin "normally" but once booted back I got a white screen again. Tried to install a game while in safe mode (the idea was that origin starts with the system so when you click on a game shortcut it would launch). No luck. Got a error message. Anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?

Hey LTT! I thought i'd start a fun topic for everyone to show of the game library they have on their Steam/Origin/Uplay. This way we can see who has the most awesome #PCMR library of games but can also give people recommendations for unique games you find in someone's library. Maybe this is a way to find your new favorite game? I'll start of with mine! All my games (except CSGO) are stored on an external RAID0 harddrive array with 6TB and the folder currently takes up about 1.14TB In there you'll find a bunch of different games from even more genres. In Steam i have: Origin comes in with these titles And Uplay also has a few Overall this is about 100 Games which i've probably played like 40% of and completed even less lol. All hail GabeN and the Summer Sale! So if you find a game in my list you wanna know more about and i happen to have played it actually then go ahead and ask some Excited to see your guy's libraries as well!

Hello, I am currently building a new gaming/streaming rig setup from Origin PC, looking to buy the top of line or near to it within reason. I have no intentions other than to watch movies, play games on max settings (GTA V, ARK, ARMA 3, etc) and stream while doing so. I'm rather new to this but have done my research and just have a few questions, but first, here is the build. The ORIGIN Difference: ORIGIN PC Genesis - The Best Gaming Experience Guaranteed Variable Mounting: Standard Case Lighting with Sentinel: Remote Controlled Multi-Colored LED with ORIGIN PC Sentinel Software Case Fans with Sentinel: ORIGIN PC High-Performance Ultra Silent Fans Power Supply: 1000 Watt EVGA SuperNOVA G3 Power Supply Sleeved Cable Color: Black Individually Sleeved Cables Motherboard: ASUS ROG X399 Zenith Extreme System Cooling: ORIGIN FROSTBYTE 360 Sealed Liquid Cooling System for TR4 Socket Processors: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X 16-Core Thermal Compound: GELID GC-Extreme CPU Application Graphic Cards: Single 11GB ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Memory: 32GB G.Skill TridentZ 3000MHz (2 X 16GB) Operating System: MS Windows 10 Home Operating System Drive #1 (Primary): 1TB Samsung 960 Evo PCIe NVMe M.2 Operating System Drive #2: 8TB Seagate 3.5" Desktop HDD Hard Drive Cage: 5 Bay Hot-Swap Cage Optical Drive One: 16X Blu-ray Burner Lower Unit: Cryogenic Cooling Support Ignored this, only if I needed their upgraded liquid cooling Media Card Reader: 40-in-1 Media Card Reader Prime Audio: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Rx Networking: Onboard Network Port Capture Cards: AVermedia Live Gamer HD2 GC570 The questions I have with this are- 1. Is the ASUS ROG X399 Zenith Extreme better vs the AMD X370 or Intel x299 2. With question one in mind, AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X 16-Core or Intel Core i9 7900X 10-Core No idea which is better for gaming, streaming, etc. 3. What in the world are OS Raid configurations? This is Origin PC, not sure if it is specific to them or not, and do I need it? 4. OS Drive #1, 2, 3... and HotSwap Bay Drive #1, 2, 3... With those what is the difference, all I'm wanting is my OS and maybe one game to go onto a 1TB 960 Samsung EVO, and the rest of my stuff to go on a 8TB Seagate HDD. Do I have the right idea there? Memory and how it is stored, written, and read is the thing that confuses me the most with computers. Not sure if I need this Raid Config, and all these drives and swap bay drives or not. 5. Last question, with my setup Processor and Video card in mind, origin has this 360 Liquid Cooling system they offer. Do I have to worry about overheating? Should I upgrade to their more advanced Liquid cooling systems, this Cryogenic Stage I, II, and III? Or is what I have enough to cool. I do NOT plan on overclocking as I heard from a lot of people it shortens the lifespan of the part significantly. That and I don't think it would be needed. I appreciate all the advice/tips/help with this build, I'm spending a pretty penny on it and want to make sure I have close to if not the best setup for this PC. Thank you.

So my SSD with my os on it went into BCD error so I had to format the drive in order to install new windows on it. On my SSD besides the OS, I stored all of my main used programs, such as Steam, Discord etc. After reinstalling Origin, ive noticed the program wont detect ive got Star Wars Battlefront installed on my HDD drive. Is there anyway I can tell Origin to detect Battlefront without the need of reinstall?
