I have an astro MixAmp and on my old pc i had a msi x570 unify motherboard, this pc is a msi mpg b650 carbon wifi. My old pc would have the RealTek Digital Output (S/PDIF Optical Output) but the new pc shows Realtek Digital Output (Realtek USB Audio) and it sounds bad. The audio is laggy at times and in games, specifically Valorant, it sounds like im trying to hear audio through soundproofing. Audio is very muffled and sounds bad, idk if the pc is trying to use usb audio instead of optical audio.

I am trying to setup a 5.1 speaker system with a receiver (Sony STRDH590) to my desktop. I tried to connect the computer and the receiver together via an optical audio cable. When I turned the receiver on it played music, however the left and right sounds where only coming out. I later found out that the optical audio on the computer only supports Left and Right speakers. The only way to use 5.1 sound from my computer are the 3.5mm ports for the speakers in a 5.1 setup. My receiver does not have individual inputs for speakers, so I want to have the input be optical audio. I have a Sound Blaster Recon 3di to process sound to the receiver. I looked for drivers the supports 5.1 optical audio, but I found nothing. If anyone has any ideas how I can move forward feel free to drop a comment. Thanks

I bought a Fosi Q5 DAC a few months back and I noticed it had an optical audio io; what are the advantages/disadvantages of using an optical audio io? How are your personal experiences using one? Do you notice a difference over using RCA or USB?

So I have a 26in tv and I'd like to get a New one. However I have certain criteria I want meet. Must be between 26-32in Miracast built in Prefer 1080p (although I am not above getting a 4k tv) 4 hdmi ports Optical audio in/out Bluetooth Connectivity Widi or Wifi Direct from intel I m also a console gamer and prefer a tv with low latency, and do not really care if it's led oled ect. So I am having an issue that I need some help on. Whenever I turn off my computer and boot it back on my volume levels on programs get randomly adjusted. I am using an external DAC plugged into my pc via optical audio. Any suggested fixes?

I'm facing an issue where I'm trying to hook up an Xbox One X to a Schiit Jotunheim external DAC, which only has USB audio as its digital input. The Xbox has S/PDIF optical output, which I've struggled to find a way to adapt to USB audio. The potential solution I've found is to use an ART USBPhonoPlus V2, which has an optical Toslink input that can be recorded to a USB output. The issue is that the USB output can only be sent to a PC, not directly to the DAC. So what I'm looking for is a way to take the USB audio input that would be coming into the PC, then send it back out over USB to the DAC, with minimal latency. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. If any of you know of a simpler solution to this that would introduce less latency, that would be wonderful. Hi everyone! I'm currently studying the possibility of buying some wireless headphones to watch TV in the late evening without disturbing half the house with my surround system. My current system comprises of a TV connected to an Android TV box via HDMI. The TV is them connected to a 5.1 Home Cinema/DVD player system via SPDIF. Any suggestions for a pair of cans in the range of €100 which would give me decent sound quality, connectivity possibility? And, what would be, in your opinion, the best way to connect the headphones to the system? Thanks in advance!

this has been a recurring issue since i got my A40's. i had audio set to come out both the digital audio jacks for my 5.1 speakers, and my astro A40's by having sterio mix listen to the digital source, and output through my optical plug, how ever it has since 'stopped working' off and on, to the point where the only way i can get it to work is to select and switch the outputs manually. does anyone know of a way to have this just work?

this is my dilemma, im trying to get windows to output audio through both the optical out, and digital audio output. i have 5.1 speakers going to the digital audio, and i have the mixamp for astro A40's going to the optical out. i did windows stereo mix working all of last night, but today it seems to have stopped functioning for all intents and purposes. im certain that there is a way to do this, im not what what though ATM. thanks.

I have done a fresh install of w10 from w7, and now I am having issues with the optical audio. When any audio starts playing, the speakers make a slight pop and miss the first half a second of the audio, particularly annoying for windows sounds. Then 10 seconds after the audio is done playing, the slight pop happens again. This has happened on 3 versions of the audio driver, the one that windows had when installed, the one windows updated to, and the one downloaded from ASUS's website. Not sure what else I can do, I never had this issue when I was on windows 7. Any assistance is very much appreciated Model numbers if needed: ASUS H97-PRO GAMER motherboard Behringer MS40 Speakers

So basically I've had a pair of Astro A50's (Battlefield 4 Edition) for about 9 months. I used them almost all the time, probably everyday and they worked perfectly. The way that they were plugged into my PC were as follows: The mixamp would have an optical audio in port which would connect an optical audio cable to the optical audio output port on my dedicated Sound Blaster Audigy Rx 7.1 sound card in my PC. This cable would carry my audio so that I would be able to receive 7.1 surround sound. The mic data would be sent over a USB 2.0 cable that I just plugged into a USB 2.0 port on my motherboard's I/O panel. My headset would obviously then be paired with my mixamp and everything was running smoothly. The problem started after about 8 months of use out of nowhere. What would happen was I would be speaking on Skype with my friends and all of a sudden they would say: "Kane are you there?", mainly because I would be in the middle of sentences and just stop speaking, this is what they told me at least. So I tested this problem, every time it happened I would check to see if my PC was picking my mic input up or if it was just a Skype problem. I booted up Audacity and whenever my friends informed me that I just randomly stopped speaking in the middle of a sentence I would try recording something on audacity. However, this didn't produce any good results. The strange thing was, I could still hear my own voice through my headset whenever I couldn't be heard on Skype or be picked up on Audacity. Anyway, the problem persisted and so I decided that it must be a headset problem. I returned them to Game UK for a full refund and purchased the Corsair Gaming H2100 headset, as my friend has the model before this one and says that they're really good. Now this headset had a whole load of problems. The mic quality was terrible, the mic would cut out again and I was really quiet even when I turned the mic level's to the highest point and turned off any 'Adjust automatically' settings. Now this could have been a dodgy headset this time, either way I returned this headset and decided to wait a couple of weeks for the release of the new Astro A50 Gen 2 headset for PC. The setup for these is exactly the same as the generation 1's with the mixamp, optical and USB cables. After about 3 days of use, the problem cropped back up again. I was stumped... I decided to try different USB ports on the back of my MOBO as well as my front USB ports, swapping between USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports. Still no luck. I couldn't see how it was the USB ports anyway as none of my other USB devices have intermittent problems, e.g. my keyboard or mouse. But the strangest part was that it surely couldn't be my brand new headset either? In regards to playback and recording configuration, the headset is set as my default playback device for playback and default device/default communication device for recording. Another thing I thought it could be is my sound card having issues however, I emailed Astro with this problem and they weren't that much help in terms of suggesting things to do that I hadn't already tried but they did inform me that voice is carried through USB and the only cable plugged into my sound card is my optical audio cable which carries only my sound, which works all of the time. The cycle is infuriating. My headset also has all of the latest Astro drivers installed, for both the headset itself and the mixamp. I'm am finding the problem to be extremely annoying and am hoping that someone might have a possible solution, or could suggest any tasks that I can attempt, to try and fix the problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What I want to do is have the optical audio signal from my console go into my PC so that I can use my PC headphones and get both console audio and PC audio. I'm guessing that I'll need some sort of adapter or converter, but I wouldn't know quite what to look for. If possible, is there a way to separately control the volume of the console sound in case it's too loud or too quiet. I also don't know if it will affect the quality of the audio at all. Any help would be apreciated. Thanks. Edit: I want to be able to listen to PC and console audio at the same time.

I have a problem... I have a speaker system that I want to use with me Xbox One, I also use the same system for my PC. In the past I had the Xbox running off my PC's monitor as a second input, my monitor has a audio out for HMDI, so I ran that to my PC's line in, the speaker system would then plug into my PC as normal. Now however, I have moved the Xbox to a new spot, with a new TV, and it doesn't have an audio out option for HDMI. My question is, can I use my MOBO's (Z77 MPOWER MSI) optical audio out, as an audio in, like a line in, and run that to the Xbox's audio out? I know this reduces the quality back down but I don't care, I just want audio. If not, my only other option I can think of is getting a HDMI audio Extractor thingy. And no, my speaker system (5.1) does not have optical in...
