I have a small 500gb SSD as my main storage for my operating system and programs but it's starting to get full with programs and updates. I would like to get a larger storage device and maybe go to a m.2 drive and transfer my OS to it. Anyone ever done this and do they know how to as it would be good to be able to upgrade space and still use my SSD as a game storage device.

Hello, I'm trying to install windows 10 to my old pc, but I'm stuck at the "loading" screen right after choosing whether I want to install windows 64 bit or 32. I tried running Linus Mint from my USB and it worked, but I hadn't tried installing it to the pc itself to see if the same thing happens, but yeah. I updated the bios, took the cmos battery out then back in. I'm quite lost actually. I haven't tried reseating hardware yet, but do let me know if I should do so and any other steps that may be relevant. Advance thanks to any helpers. Specs is i5 7500 gtx 1060 b250 pro4 Using old hdds for this build from 2016 and older, that actually do work and that's all that should matter?

After thorough searching, I've determined that I've got unique nonsense going on. So, making a new computer, and had the following issue, which I have spent several groups of hours troubleshooting. The issue is this: I install Windows 10 with the installation key (6+ year old USB key, if that's important), and it works. I can use it just as normal, even including resetting the computer. If I shut it off and turn it on again, however, I am unable to boot to Windows again, having to go into BIOS, or perform the installation process again (to clarify, I secure cleaned the two drives I used for this before installation, it's not a Windows Onion in there). I'm very much out of ideas; Start-Up Repair from the installation media doesn't do anything, different boot modes and default settings in BIOS (mainly XMP and Core Enhancement, and Fast Boot options, none of which have done anything), a new motherboard has the exact same issues (I really hope I haven't got two duds in a row), trying different configurations of plugging and unplugging drives and SSDs to check for conflicts, etc., etc., and I have no idea what exactly is going wrong. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, all my searching has found is threads where someone found a solution in something I have already tried. I desperately want to have a good computer again.

Hi, My current setup consists of a desktop PC with the following hardware configuration: Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Mainboard: MSI B450 Gaming plus max RAM: G.Skill Trident Z 16GB single stick Graphics: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 (GV-970XTREME-4GD) Power supply: 550W PSU Storage: Corsair Force MP510 240GB nvme M.2 SSD (Operating System) SATA HDD Seagate 3TB (Secondary Storage for media files) The Issue: During my recent travels, I left my PC unused and put it turned off for a week. Upon my return, I attempted to boot Windows, but it failed. I turned to Google for help and discovered that resetting the BIOS or reassembling the RAM could resolve the issue. I proceeded to try both solutions, one after the other. After several attempts, including reassembling the RAM and flashing/resetting the BIOS, I was finally able to successfully boot up the PC and reach the operating system welcome login screen. I encountered an issue while trying to log in to Windows. Upon entering the password, the system froze, and a blue screen error message appeared, indicating "WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR". After a brief moment, the PC restarted and redirected me to the BIOS settings. It seems that the M.2 SSD was initially detected by the BIOS under storage peripherals but disappeared shortly after, even though it's still in the slot. Despite persistently checking the BIOS, the M.2 SSD cannot be detected all day long. When attempting to boot to Windows, the BSOD message "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key" appeared. When I turn on my PC after a long time, the BIOS only detects the M.2 SSD once. However, after a few minutes of being on the BIOS settings, it disappears. The SSD only reappears when I turn off the PC and turn it on again after a significant amount of time has passed. I've attempted to use startup repair and Windows restore, as well as other solutions, but unfortunately, none of them have been successful. To make it easier for you to assist me, I've included screenshots. The M.2 SSD contains important files that I'm unable to recover due to the fact that I'm unable to boot up and log in to Windows. Additionally, I've noticed that the M.2 SSD feels excessively hot to the touch when I power on my computer. It appears as though it's been running for an extended period of time, despite the fact that I've only just turned on my PC. It seems like there are sufficient airflows to maintain a cooler environment inside the CPU chassis. However, this should not be causing the M.2 SSD to heat up instantly during boot. In 2020, I bought this M.2 SSD that comes with a 5-year smart warranty. However, I learned that if I send it to the RMA, they will only replace the drive and not recover my data files. I attempted to use the Windows Recovery mode CMD notepad method to transfer my data to another drive. Unfortunately, this approach proved unsuccessful, as I encountered frequent freezes on the recovery mode when the M.2 SSD was installed in the Motherboard M.2 slot. It's worth noting that I don't use any heatsink on the M.2 SSD. I'm unable to operate my desktop computer because of this problem that's greatly impacting my daily routine. I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thank you.

I don't care if someone steals the idea, I just wanna know why this COULDN'T work. 1. Most games aren't made for Macs or Linux, this OS would make it so. 2. The OS would be missing tons of normal computer services, meaning the OS would require less than 1 GB of RAM; lowering max RAM requirements for games. 3. Like Xbox/PS, downloading and installing is not allowed. Game companies, that require the OS, no longer need to worry about hacking. 4. ROMS (that weren't made for computers) and emulators that I played on Windows VIsta still work on 11, no updates. Wishful thinking, maybe the games can also behave the same? (Battlefield 1942, Dead space, AC 1, all broken)

So recently (within the last 2-6 months, think it was about 3 or 4) I remember seeing a video hosted by Anthony and Linus checking out a Windows (11 i think) clone and raving about it's performance. There was some hiccups along the way as to be expected but they genuinely seemed impressed. At the current I don't have the money to upgrade my cpu as planned and windows although I recently reinstalled windows, it's already becoming a bit of a bloat and games that ran smooth when I first installed the cpu and now pegging the cpu at 100% and stutter is becoming a real issue. I've scrolled through both LTT and Short Circuit but can't seem to spot the video anywhere. Does anyone remember the title of the video and are able to link me to it? Or perhaps the name of the operating system? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance James

So I got Windows 10 pro 64 bit and I got an AMD Ryzen 5 5600x and an RTX 3070, and nothing wants to open up on my computer other than applications by Nvidia, Google chrome opens too and Discord, everything else just crashes/freezes and closes after a couple of seconds; examples: Spotify, disk clean up, and anti-cheat applications and my password manager. So what should I do, if you got anything that could perhaps help me please comment if something I'm willing to downgrade to Windows 7 or just change to Linux as I'm at this point just mad at Windows 10, the same issue has happened to me before and I fixed it but now it won't get fixed. And I've also noticed that the GPU memory clock is strangely low.

Hey guys so around a month and a half ago I upgraded to windows 11 and have had zero problems and actually liked it until now. Earlier this week I received the HP Reverb G2 and was excited to use it until I ran into issues with steam VR. It was crashing at almost every game and the games that loaded had bad performance. This is after me changing some of the settings and runni8ng them on a PC that has an RTX 3070 FE and a 5600x as well as a NVMe SSD and ample cooling. After consulting the HP Reverb G2 subreddit, it sounds like Steam VR isn't compatible with Windows 11 at the moment and my best course of action is to try to go back to Windows 10. I was wondering what the best and easiest way of doing this is without loosing all of my files. I've never done something like this before and I'm terrified that I might loose some of my game progress, recordings, mods, or ending up having to reinstall every game I have on my P.C right now (a lot) all over again. I'd really appreciate any advice or guidance for this cause I really don't want to screw this up and mess up my P.C.

I have been using windows 7 ultimate for hosting my servers until recently long story short had to do a clean install and do to some softlocked software its no longer supported ( no matter what I tried couldn't get 7 to install framework 4.6.2 as that's what i need in order to get my software to work on it and the windows update function refuses to work in short I'm looking for an alternative that's free ( or if it has to be windows 10 a way to trim it for performance and not having it soak up a lot of the pc resources as it likes to do ) games I want to host are as listed: terraria, starbound, minecraft, savage lands, staxel, unturned, astroneer, ark, 7 days to die, killing floor and some games like cubeworld alpha not all at once but off and on not afraid to use any linux( zero experience but willing to put time into using it) just wanting one that is compatible with most of these games pc specs are cpu: xeon 5680x gpu gtx 970 oc 4gb ram: 40gb ddr3 g.skil ssd capacity about 2.5 tb and hdd 2tb motherboard asus sabertooth ii x58

So I have bought an SSD. I want to change my boot drive from my HDD to the new drive. I do not want to Clone my whole drive. I just want to clone the operating system to the SSD then delete the operating system of my HDD. Any help would be lovely.

I have a question about swapping OS, I have a 1 terabyte hard drive but lately I've noticed that my OS is very difficult to boot, It is just really slow. I have saved some money and would like to buy an M.2 SSD, but my question is: what is the best SSD for a budget of 125 euros (minimum 500 GB - maximum 1 TB)? And how do I transfer my OS to this new SSD? I have already watched several YouTube videos on this subject but it looked very complicated. In these videos people mainly use other programs to backup their files but this looks very complicated; what is the easiest way to do this? My specifications are in the attachment. I really hope someone can help!

Valve’s Steam Deck famously runs the Linux-based SteamOS, but now that Windows drivers are out, it’s not the only game in town anymore. My Question is to everyone I have HP AY503TX model DOS OS Laptop I use this laptop for my works on testing all Operating Sytems like Windows and Linux before Installing on customer's PCs, Connecting Remotely on Customer's PC for Online Troubleshooting, Installing Cracked version Softwares and doing Software researches too. My question is Can Computer Technicians use Genuine installed Windows 10 and new win 11 for doing IT professional works installing cracked version softwares due to Dell brand has stopped DOS laptops. Normally we use DOS OS for formatting due to virus attacked on C drive that Genuine windows 10 unable to remove the virus fully when gone to recovery mode option in windows 10. So I would love to have suggestions and advices from everyone guiding me which spec laptop I should go for on my Computer Repair work?

Windows 11 installation on non supported devices using win to hdd. Use uup dump to create a Windows11 iso. https://uupdump.net/selectlang.php?id=07f56947-34cb-4f28-aab5-764028e75f17 Download and install wintohdd tool. https://www.easyuefi.com/wintohdd/index.html Open wintohdd after installation and select Reinstall Windows or New Installation. Select the Windows 11 img created before and after selecting the img chosse the edition to be installed. Select the drive to install windows 11 on and the installation will start. After installation you will be in OOBE. After completing the OOBE you will be in Windows 11. Note:- This process clean installs the windows be sure to back up your data. If the pc doesn't start after the win to hdd Installation check weather the drive you have installed windows on is selected as a boot drive.

I have a LG smart TV and it runs on LG's WebOS. Due to a faulty reset, the OS got corrupted and now I cannot log in to my TV. ANY SOLUTION ?

When shut down/restarted, my computer will get hung up either on the boot screen, the start screen, or even while already logged on. I then have to force restart multiple times when this happens until it finally catches and works until I restart or shut down again. Normally, I don’t shut it down due to this, but I am honestly lost and confused as to what it can be. Thanks in advanced, Puhtehdough

Hiya everyone, I have here a conundrum, I have an old Sony Vaio laptop running an Intel dual-core processor from the Merom architecture (yes that old). It has 2Gb of DDR2 RAM (again that old) and a 200Gb HDD. It still runs well, and I plan to turn it into a Media PC (mainly to play movies & music, and maybe Youtube if it can connect to the net). Currently, it still runs Windows Vista and my question is "can it support Windows 10 or should I install Windows 7 or 8 instead?" I'm already in the process of doing some much needed maintenance (thermal paste & HDD replacement and dust removal) to get some extra use out of it. Any tips and advice will be appreciated and thank you in advance.
