I recently acquired this Seanix s-15sm02 15 in CRT VGA monitor. Seanix was an old Vancouver BC based company that sold computers and things. I am looking for more information about Seanix and especially about this mystery port on the back of the monitor next to the VGA cable. Is this some sort of input? Like a RGB input or svideo or composite input that would have had an adapter cable? Any info is greatly appreciated. Only info I could find was it might be closely related to an sampo alphascan 520. Thanks!

So I go my hands on the following keyboard. It has cherry MX compatible stems. The keyboard has a speaker underneath. And it's connector? Not USB. Not even PS2. My best guess is RJ11 (Wyse?)- it looks like a phone cable. I want to breath new life into it. I'm planning on building a bartop arcade, that has a keyboard in a "hidden" drawer, to make it easier to find games etc. Does anyone know how I'll be able to connect it to a raspberry Pi (via USB). Is there an adapter? I want to test the keyboard, but I don't have an old enough computer to connect it to, to see if it still has "life" in it. In a worst case scenario, does anyone know a website I can buy a full sized PCB, and I'll try to salvage as much as I can, and keep it's old look. I've compared the size of the keycaps to extra keycaps I have from my cherry MX brown keyboard, and they have the same width and length, but the old ones are taller (doesn't matter). BUT. The keys are closer together than mine. Was this an older standard? Please, if anyone can give me any information, I'll be grateful. I will provide more pictures, to showcase the keyboard, and to help you all help me figure out what I have in my hands. On the casing, there is no brand, just a sticker that says "Model 925".

Hello everyone! Last Saturday I went on the hunt for some nice things to a few second hand shops in the city where I live. I've found some really old games that i used to play when I was a kid. Since they were all 0,50€ each I got 20 of them... I don't regret it tho I got few really nice titles like GTA2 or Carmageddon OoO. Now the problem is that I made a VM(Virtual box) and installed Win XP on it, but the games won't run Prince of Persia 3D just shows starting screen and then crashes to the desktop... Carmageddon starts nicely, but then it is loading the game endlessly... CoD 2 is thinking that I have an illegal copy of the game since I have to share the optical drive from the host machine to guest Win XP installation... TL;DR Some old games won't work on my VM and I don't know why. Does anyone know how to fix it? I enabled graphic card sharing(GTX 750ti). VM has 2GB of RAM and 2 cores from my Athlon X4 860k. My host system is Win 10.

Here is what I have: Issue one: I have a Corsair H100i - Gen 1 with a bad pump/possibly clogged - Cooler is out of warranty Issue two: My budget to fix this problem is less then $40 USD Here is what I have at my disposal: Koolance Exos EXT-A03 200W Koolance CPU waterblock (came with the Exos) 100W GPU/Chipset Koolance waterblock still smashed on a dead ATI x850 Tubing and Koolance No drip Quick Disconnect compression fittings. Now any thoughts on Frankenstein something to cool a Stock i7 - 4770k 3.5GHz CPU and possibly cooling a R9 - 270x as well. The hardware is mounted in a Cooler Master HAF Tower so room isn't an issue. The Only issue I see right now is I cannot find anything that will give me correct flow rate information on the R-PMP01 Pump in the Exos Reservoir and the Thermal energy dissipation of the R9 - 270x Chip.

So i finally finished selling/recycling my old media pc and I decided to keep the case. The thing is what should i do for parts to get me going. I managed to pick up an Asus Z170-A mobo for 72 bucks. What would you guys think the parts should be for around 6-700 bucks?

Hello! Please help me with a mobo decision. I have an i7 4790 and I am looking for a "new"(not used) mobo. Don't know what chipset to choose: z97 (same as I had before, but can't really find new mobo)(I know this is overkill for a non oc CPU; I need SLI) or q87 (found in a couple of places). And what differences should I expect? Ty. Edit: I have also seen some h81 mobos(most for BTC).

Hi Guys, So I have these awesome Old School speakers just sitting on our store room so i tried to use them; 1. Altec Lansing ACS 33 (Speakers + Subwoofer) 2. Altec Lansing ACS 90 (Speakers only, with Subwoofer slot) Please see attached photo of simple sketch on how i connected the speakers to each other and connected to my PC. It is all working. Sound output is good. I'm not really knowledgeable when it comes to speakers, so I want to ask You guys, did I do anything wrong with those connections? i asked because i might have done something wrong that prevents me from getting the speakers' full potential or maybe i did something wrong that might damage my PC. Thanks in advanced. Cheers!

Hey i found this older Pentium 4 2.8ghz in good condition especially the case, prober steel case with loads of potential and a classic look and feel. I am going to be modding it mostly inside the case, i will keep the exterior as is, but with all modern parts, Water cooling dust filters RGB. I have built a lot of Pc's in my time but can't recall comming across this pc or case before, "Annett Computer" ,. Can anyone tell me anything about the brand "Annett Computer" or maby this model? Sorry for bad English, and thank you for being part of the best place of the Whole Internet

So I have finally finished my retro (early to mid 2000's for me) gaming PC. I use the term finished loosely as i am still looking to swap in a better motherboard that will allow me to chance FSB and multiplier settings (current one is bios locked and i can't find a compatible bios to flash it with). This started out as me buying a shitty Compaq on eBay for about $20 with the goal just to muck around with it and i ended up going deep down the Rabbit hole and spending a whole lot more money (and a huge amount of time) on different components and learning some basic early 2000's modding (Like sleeving my own IDE cables). This turned into a pretty cool little project for me and it was great to build the computer i always dreamed of when i was a teenager Specs are as follows: * AMD Athlon XP 2600+ (thoroughbred Core) * 1GB DDR 3200 * ATi Radeon 9600XT * Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty Eddition (with Live Drive) * 2x 160BGB 7200RPM HDD * Wireless LAN * DVDRW / 3.5" FDD * Custom Sleeved IDE cables / Sleeved ATX Power extension * Cooler Master Xdream III CPU Cooler * Swanky Blue Lights pic below for you to peruse

Hi I was wondering if sata cassette drives exist. I searched on google but found possibly what I want but also lots of back up things. I just want to play games and listen to old music tapes while doing that!

https://imgur.com/a/0qmYSIw As shown in the pics above it has yellow switches which i was able to identify as https://deskthority.net/wiki/Taiwan_jet_axis However the weird thing is that the board and switches it has it is mismatched by the enclosure it is in. As seen here https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/3b3b2n/help_ive_found_an_old_dytcom_k160_keyboard/ the enclosure belongs to a k160 with cherry blue switches while my keyboard enclosure should be like this https://klikkyklik.wordpress.com/category/klik/page/3/ scroll the page down a bit Anyone can explain it ?

Introducing: 1200 or Butts! I bought this case on a case modding forum (PimpRig.com) for 1$ + shipping roughly 15 years ago: It's an AT! (even came with a keyboard with that giant connector...) This was home to my primary rig throughout high school, running a Pentium 4 2.4C. I put a lot of work into it back in the day, but it has clearly seen better days. (It definitely served as home to some small creatures at one point.) I've kept it around all these years with the hopes of one day realizing some of the mods I once hoped to make, and the time has finally come to revisit my old friend. The mice left it quite filthy, so first it's time to take it all apart and scrub the whole thing clean. What in the heck is that?! It's Silly Putty! ...apparently? I completely forgot about this one. I must have decided to use it to hold some posts in place. Those posts where annoying, but necessary because the corners lacked structural integrity (resulting in some cracking). Might have to to do something about that. How about some more putty! A decent helping of epoxy putty really helped firm up the corners. it feels nice and rigid when mounted, even without those pesky posts. And since I already have the putty out... Might as well use it to mount some standoffs. Not the most elegant solution, but it felt like the right move. I already had holes drilled, but I used to use bolts with a stack of nuts to mount the motherboard, and it was a giant pain in the ass every time. Now it'll much be easier to fill with goodies! (Like that classic Noisetaker II.) Speaking of which: Goodies! So what did I decide to power this guy with? A Pentium 2.4C of course! Why revisit this CPU of yesteryear? To pursue that elusive, legendary overclock that haunted my dreams or course! 3.6Ghz with a 1200Mhz FSB! Can it be done? I will find out, or die trying. I paired it with an Abit IC7-G, the board I always wanted and couldn't afford, and four 1GB sticks Corsair XMS DDR400. The IC7 should give me a decent first shot at 1200. The graphics card pictured is a GeForce 4 MX 440, a temporary card obtained to ensure the 7800GS I have is non-functional. A replacement is on the way! The heatsink is a Thermalright XP-90 I found brand new on Amazon (grabbed a Noctua while I was at it). I thought cable routing would be a nightmare, but I remembered some old tricks. Without IDE, a build in this case has never felt so clean! So what plans do I have in store? I need to fab a back panel, and do some general cleaning up. (That extra square corner where I chopped off the drive cage drives me nuts!) The front bezel needs some cracks filled, and the switch area patched and cleared for new power buttons. To get where I'm going, water cooling is going to be a must! So I'm hoping I will be able to track down a DangerDen TDX, chipset, and GPU cooler (an NV78, or modded NV68?). If anybody here knows where to find some old DD parts, please let me know! For paint there is one thing I know for sure: beige and black, but paint will have to wait until spring. I was thinking about painting the chassis, but now that it's cleaned up a bit, the dingy corroded steel is is growing on me... Is it just me, or does that 80mm bracket on the front just scream pump/res mount? Most of the bottom will have to go to make room for a radiator. (Gonna need new feet!) Squeezing a 360 in there will be tight, but I think it should fit. Dusting this thing off has made me so happy, and made dragging it around for so long well worth it. There is just one destination: 1200 or butts! P.S. Since I'm digging up one relic, I thought I'd dig up another. Does anybody around here remember these shirts?

ok so im trying to build a streaming pc for a friend who just wants to be able to stream content from a console and wants to do it for as cheap as possible and i am not sure how intensive streaming is or if you can even build a streaming pc under $500. I have no preferences in amd or intel i simply want a stable machine that will consistently stream content for as cheap as possible thank you all in advance for your advice. 1. Budget & Location - U.S. as far under $500 as possible 2. Aim - to stream content from any console 3. Monitors- no new monitors needed 4. Peripherals- none needed 5. Why are you upgrading- a friend asked me if i could help him put together a cheap streaming pc

Simply out of curiosity. What's the oldest graphics card you remember getting and feeling like an absolute boss for having? I remember when I got my Riva TNT2 Pro and felt like an absolute king for having 32MB of VRAM.

so my HTPC/lan rig is currently a dual-xeon E5430 with a GTX660 housed in an OEM t7400 (have a pair of X5470's on the way) its not tooo bad but its not getting 60fps 1080p high/ultra in modern games, I wouldn't mind going for something crazy in it so I am buying a 6990 with a waterblock and the stock cooler. I was trying to buy two of them but missed out on the second card - two of them in quadfire are scoring 15k firestrike points (that's about a gtx980) Does anyone with a 6990 have anything to comment? how do they perform in modern games? how do you cope with the sound/heat? should I invest in some cheap crappy custom loop gear to cool this card or should I throw the stock cooler back on? Installing a custom loop in the T7400 would be... interesting... I would need to use a drive day res/pump and would need to custom mount a rad, being a 240mm at most. so Iwould preffer to air cool it.

my absolute fondest memories are of my friends and me playing Halo or smash brothers together on the couch, laughing our asses off at the ridiculous stuff we would do and the funny game types we would make up. Now that I'm almost twenty years old, the fact of the matter is that things haven't changed. Sure, it's cool and all to be able to have the whole screen to one's self, but it just isn't anywhere near as friendly or fun. The best part of local multiplayer was that a person wasn't just playing another online game for stats, they were having a good time with their friends in the same room. When people do system links in which EVERYONE gets their own screen, It just stops being fun. At that point, you might as well have played online in different households. Now when I invite my friends over, we're almost exclusively limited to older games which supported four player local splitscreen. While these games are fun, we'd all enjoy playing new games as well. The most jarring news concerning local splitscreen, at least for me, is for Halo 5. Sure, everyone can hate on halo for becoming another call of duty, but Halo 5's beta truly seemed to turn that preconception around. I was honestly looking forward to getting the game for two reasons, the campaign and local splitscreen with my friends. When 343 announced that local splitscreen was being left out in favor of maintaining 60 FPS, I was honestly mad. The whole point of console was the different experience. Sure, I could play halo on my PC with insane graphics and a high frame rate, but then I couldn't have my friend sitting next to me as I beat him in king of the hill by driving a tank onto his head from above. On console, I could have him or her there with me, and it would be more fun than it ever could have been on PC despite lowered frame rate or graphics quality. Losing this in games, regardless of reason, is something that seriously sucks for me. I'm not big on the competitive online scene anymore, and I feel like I'm losing one of the things that kept me in gaming. Oh well, at least fallout 4 is coming, and that can't be ruined by removing local multiplayer.

Hey there guys, I am planning on doing a little build just for the fun of it. I want to get the parts together that were available around 1997 and install Windows 95 on it. The reason I choose '97 is because it was the year I was born and I would love to see what the hardware was like back then. I have experience building PC's so thats no problem, but I really have no idea what kind of components are correct for a gaming themed build of that year (Could be parts from '95-99, close enough). I would really appreciate some guidance on what components I should try and find for this legacy build. I have done some research of my own, but I am outsourcing to you guys because there are many people here with tremendous knowledge of computers. Thank you very much for reading, and any responses and ideas are greatly appreciated :D

So long story short, I'm not in the US right now and where I'm at temporarily prices are really inflated and buying here is not an option, so please don't ask about that. My uncle will be in the US, specifically in Milwaukee, FL in around a month I was just wondering if anyone knew a good place to buy parts (processor, mobo, gpu, etc) in person, meaning he will physically drive there, buy it and take it in person, then giving it back to me when he comes back. If you do know a place please do post a website or location, to further pin point it down, just to make things easier for my uncle, as I will be e-mailing him the parts I need, and also some alternatives in case he can't find them. Appreciate any help.
