[N.B.; This is gonna be a long post (the actual document I wrote, which can be found { here } is even longer, 7 pages and over 2200 words, if you enjoy this kind of thing then go ahead and read it, it has more information than this and also includes all the photos) and isn't a question or anything.I did this because even now as we move away from these kinds of biocides, there is still some confusion and conflicting info about this. It's the results of the preliminary experiment I carried out more of a proof of concept. I am however interested in suggestions for future tests to remove variables, next time I won't be using as much of the sulphate, I used a LOT compared to a normal loop. I am also not 100% sure on exact alloys used, exact plating metals (however I suspect nickel) and exact temperatures and progress of the results. This post is mostly made from copy and pastes from the document as well as a more humourous and casual explanation. Also this document is gonna take some work to make night theme friendly so please alert me to any parts that I missed] This test was conducted over just a 24 hour period with a single 1 hour test of AID64 CPU, FPU, Cache and Memory to simulate a heavy load, and about 8 hours of gaming throughout the test period. There was minor risks to individual safety due to the use of copper sulphate, which can cause allergic reactions over time, as well as irritation and possible vomiting if ingested. Should it be absorbed in a large enough dose of over 1 gramme, it can be fatal. There was also minor risk to the equipment used in the form of possible corrosive effects and water damage to PC parts in the test system. This test was conducted using Copper Sulphate in the form of a saturated solution. This was intended to simulate the product “PT Nuke”, a water loop biocide for use with PC water cooling. However, the concentration was much higher on this test, this was done to allow the test to be conducted in only 24 hours, which is a short time for this kind of corrosion. The water cooling parts used in this test are listed below, as well as price so I can cry about almost damaging them. I have no idea what they're made from, and they'll never be used again so oh well. Results where taken as the loop was broken down into it’s constituent parts, and observations taken. Some minor cleaning and inspections where then performed. These are shown below. Results Reservoir to Pump fittings The test was ultimately cut to 24 hours as a result of the very fast progression of the corrosion here. Even now it is hard to tell which is the correct answer, however it seems that the nickel plating was indeed removed by the Copper Sulphate solution.The out fitting of the Reservoir to Pump showed signification chemical activity inside. This is mainly due to damage to the fitting from a pair of pliers I used to install it, the teeth bit into the nickel plating and left serious marks. This appears to be in part why the part had either corrosion or deposition of copper and nickel ions. There seems to be a ring of copper around the around the leading edge of the glans and blotchy marks on the inside portion of the fitting near the threads, this would be more consistent with copper ion deposition, perhaps being exchanged for nickel ions this producing a Nickel Sulphate solution inside. These particular marks did not rub off, but there was also no noticeable step between the copper and nickel, as you would expect from such a thick plating layer being removed. These unions where the worse of the permanent corrosion/deposition that occurred during the test, and seems the due to the scoring on the fitting was a leading contributor. Pump to VRM block fitting. The fitting on the outlet of the pump to the inlet of the VRM block are shown here. These wear also more badly effect than any other fitting. A line of copper can clearly be seen inside of the first one, this is not from scoring of any kind as I used the knurled part to tighten this into the threads. There was also a serious ring of quite badly deposited copper on the inlet of VRM block fitting, the second fitting shown. This copper appears to be built up over the nickel layer, however did not wipe away, suggesting it could have corroded the nickel and then deposited the copper onto this fitting. The comparative corrosion is less than the first two but still second due to it being permanent, more on why I specified permanent in a moment. VRM block to CPU block (Dissimilar fittings) At first appearances, the ACF fitting from EKBW is severely corroded and has lost all of it’s nickel plating from the inner part of flow, and starting to attack the leading edge of the gland of the barb, however this is not the case. The copper seen there is a deposition over the nickel layer, and almost entirely wiped off [shown in a bit]. This fitting is listed as being brass too, so zinc would have to have been removed in order to see copper only like this, and since Zinc Sulphate is white, and clear in solution, I would not be able to see it. The VRM block outlet is also badly scored, due to being hard to install this barb initially, and as such as minor effects from the solution of the metals surface. It was initially my thought that the EKWB fitting was severely damaged and a write off from this test, but I soon found the copper was easily wiped off. As I mentioned, it just wiped off, so there maybe some nickel missing, but not a lot. I use a similar process to chemically copper plate certain metals. CPU block to Radiator As seen here, the layer of copper effortlessly wiped off the second EK barb too. From this I can infer that more testing and more consulting with others to form a clear understanding of what is happening here. There was very little corrosion on the radiator fitting inlet, suggesting that the CPU outlet fitting was absorbing most of the brunt of the corrosion/deposition from this test Radiator to Reservoir Light scoring inside on one fitting seemed not to effect it so much, as the other fitting has a wider but shallower mark, which could have been what caused the worse corrosion here. Again it seems almost exclusively as a ring around the leading edge. The inlet of the reservoir seems to be a little more effect, which is a trend I am noticing here, probably has that edge is subjected to the direction of the flow. Fitting overview All fitting are shown here for comparative purposes, as well as the previous not shown control, these are virgin fittings never used on a loop, and as so have no wear form use or etching processes. CPU block inspection There is very little deposition or corrosion in the base of the block, the main part of it. There is some visible copper colour that seem to just be all there was. This block was used with a red dye that really stained the nickel lightly with a slight red hue, however not all of it is copper as such. This view from the side also hows little copper between the fins, with some on the edge. Not much elsewhere. I think the liquid metal TIM will probably cause more damage over the long term than the Copper Sulphate solution used Conclusion It’s easy to see that some form of corrosion or deposition was taking place and that resulted in either nickel being removed, covered or exchanged. I would have to say I was surprised how quickly this occurred even with the high concentration of Copper Sulphate in the roughly 400mm volume loop. Adding 5 ml of a saturated solution was much more concentrated than the 1 drop per litre suggested by PT nuke, which itself is not a completely saturated solution. However nickel (or possible chromium) parts showed to be very badly effected by this salt, and the suggestions not to use it seem to be very much correct, despite some saying it doesn’t seem to. This now a days isn’t so much an issue with ready made biocide and corrosion inhibiting ready mixed fluids and concentrates, which have been usually tested to even more high standards than the ones I have conducted here.

Well, the G4560 beats its 2-threaded little brother by a margin of up to 100% higher frame rates in some games, but there's a twist, and it involves the use I'd be giving to either of these chips and their prices. Here, in Argentina, the G3930 costs around $50, but the Pentium goes for $90. I only want to get either of them as a placeholder until Q2 2018, and I'm not sure if 2X performance / 2X price is the way to go for me, since I'm only gonna be playing SA:MP, Bad Company 2, BF4 and Rainbow Six: Siege, maybe recording and editing some gameplay, but nothing "professional", nothing too heavy. So, which CPU would be the best choice for me right now? Also, going for the more expensive G4560 means no SSD in my PC. Thanks in advance for all your suggestions, I'll really appreciate them.

This answer is going to be so obvious to experts but I ordered a GPU and it says in the System Requirements "Windows 8 Pro". Does this mean I need Windows 8 Pro to use this card or can I use it with Windows 10, which is what I have. Please help me out. Oh also, do I need to disable my Intel HD Graphics before I install this card? Thanks in advance.

I always wondered where Intel got the name Pentium for their CPUs, and I just figured it out! I was on the page of the user @Kirky2k15, whose listed occupation is "Element 115 miner," which happens to be the element with the temporary name Ununpentium, the fifth one(originally; some are named now) with that type of name, and sure enough, the first Pentium was Intel's fifth generation of x86 processors. I don't know why I never thought of it before; I mean, it's kinda obvious, Pentium, penta-, 5. Duh. Edit: Mods, @Godlygamer23 or someone else, is this the correct subforum for something like this? It has some tie-ins to technology since this revolves around CPU naming schemes, but it doesn't itself relate directly to it. Thank you!

I just finished watching the WAN Show and Luke and Linus were waiting for the right time to do something, but they did it in the afterparty and they never archive those. They were really nervous about it. What happened? Did someone die? Is everything okay?

Just a dumb question with most likely a really obvious answer, but it's confused me for a while. Why do people use 2 graphics cards for dual monitors? isn't there a way to get 2 monitors on HDMI without dual GPU's? Sorry if this is a really stupid question, i'm just confused. I would lilt to mention, i know dual graphics cards increase performance, Its just I rarely see people dual screen with one GPU, even when its not a gaming oriented build.
