750d 750 corsair obsidian case -
I am so frustrated!!! Why can't my rig overclock!?!?!?!? I bought my motherboard as reviews said its and overclocking beast. I bought plenty of memory that is supported by the board. Closed loop water cooling on the CPU, big case, plenty of power, lots of air flow, fast hard drive(s)... and then there is the processor... the AMD FX 8320E 8 core cpu. Ok, so here is the deal. I can get it to overclock but just barely and it becomes unstable. At this point I have left it at stock clocks. I purchased this build and assembled it to support overclocking if I choose to do so. I should mention that I have seen this jump up to 4Ghz on its own from 3.5Ghz and all the way down to 1.4Ghz when under almost no load or idle. I know it will hit 4000.0Mhz because it does it on it's own... but I cannot manually overclock it to 4Ghz... which is what I want. I want all specs in (4's) Cpu at 4Ghz, Mem at 16GB's, Gpu mem 4GB (8GB when I add the second card).. and so on. Can someone explain to me why I can't manually overclock this setup? My first guess is the CPU 8320E which is a 95w lower power unit. Ok, here is my rig: Case: Corsair Obsidian 750D solid front. Motherboard: ASUS M5A99FX Pro R2.0 CPU: AMD FX-8320E 3.2Ghz 8 core Memory: Crucial DDR3 8GBx2 (16GB total) Part #BLS8G3D18ADS3.16FE Video card: ASUS ROG STRIX Radeon RX 470 4GB OC Edition (second card coming soon) Power Supply: Corsair AX 860 modular CPU Cooling: Corsair H115i Case Cooling: 3 - 140mm Cougar CF-V14HP OS Drive: One - Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD Storage Drives: Three - WD Blue 1TB 7,200rpm 64MB cache Sata 6GB/s Temps: - Room: 22c (72F) - CPU: Idle 25c - Max load 60c - MB: Idle 27c - Max load 44c -GPU: Idle 29 - 30c - Max load 62c <-- On Ultra - SC Blacklist 1080p

Fergus Urquhart the CEO of Obsidian Entertainment who in around 2000 assisted in the development of 2D role-playing games (RPG) such as Baldur’s Gate. Uncovered in an interview with IGN Unfiltered that one of the teams that he worked with began production of a game code-named Van Buren which was to be driven by the “then” latest technology a 3D game engine called Numerical Design Limited (NDL). This he said in the interview was to be the third in a succession of games we know as Fallout. That 3D NDL game engine was later sold to Gamebryo and became the engine used to develop Bethesda’s Fallout 3. Source: BY ALEX OSBORN @ IGN UNFILTERED / 27 JAN 2017.

Planning a new build and was wandering if anyone had previous experience with this case. The corsair Obsidian 500D. https://www.pccasegear.com/products/42681/corsair-obsidian-500d-rgb-se-premium-mid-tower-case I'm looking to fit two rads in it. Front 360 EK PE width 40mm and top 240 either slim 25mm-30mm or EK PE 40mm. Mobo is MSI z270 gaming m7 and Gskill trident z ram. Pump/res combo https://www.ple.com.au/Products/630111/EK-X-RES-140-Revo-D5-RGB-PWM-incl-Sleeved-Pump. Let me know your experience with the case, especially custom water loop(soft). Gpu will be water cooled also.

Hi people, I am creating my part list for my new RGB PC I will be building soon and was wondering if this case was any good. It includes 3 corsair ll120 RGB fans and the corsair commander pro. Would someone be able to tell me if it is actually a good case in terms of airflow and other things cases should do that I dont know about. This is the case I'm talking about - https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/xVbwrH/corsair-obsidian-500d-rgb-se-atx-mid-tower-case-cc-9011139- the Corsair Obsidian 500d SE Thanks

Corsair has added a new member to their Obsidian line up of cases, the Obsidian 1000D. The case comes in at a measurement of 693mm (27.3”) for depth, 307mm (12.1”) width, and 697mm (27.4") for height. Inside the case it allows up to 2 full working systems, with the main top compartment for up to E-ATX motherboards with 8 expansion slots, and the bottom for a Mini-ITX system and 2 expansion slots for dual slot graphic cards. To power 2 system at once, case also allows for installation of 2 power supplies, a ATX and SFX. The case has up to 8x 2.5" SSD trays, and 5x 3.5" drive bays. Fan support at its default configuration, supports up to 8x 120mm in the front, 2x 120mm at the rear, and 3x 140mm on top. Corsair also sells optional fan trays for the case if users want a different fan config, such as 3x 140mm in the front instead of the 8x 120mm that came by default. On the front it has your typical power and reset switch, along with 4x USB 3.0, 2x USB 3.1 type C, along with mic and headphone jacks. No words on when it will be on store shelves or the price. https://www.corsair.com/ww/en/obsidian-1000d-case

I am in the process of picking the components for a new build and I am struggling to choose between two different cases: Phanteks Enthoo Pro and Corsair Obsidian 450D. I do not need a crazy set-up but to give you an indication of the other components I have picked out, take a look at this: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/DWVwxr Both of these cases are very good in my opinion but I am keen to know which one the community thinks is better! Cheers!

Hey guys, As title suggests, looking for opinion on choosing between these two cases. Primary concerns are cable management & cooling, less concerned about hot swapping components. Let me know what you all think is a better choice. Thanks all!

Hello Everyone, After extensive research, I'm about to start my build, and the last thing to decide is the case: Corsair 750D or Fractal Define R5 windowed (both in black). If they were both the same price, which one would you choose? Specs: -5930K -Asus X99 Deluxe 3.1 -Titan X in 2-way SLI -Corsair Dominator Platinum -Kraken X61 -AX1500i PSU -NO HDD -Samsung 850 PRO 512GB x 2 in Raid0 -1 x multi ODD unit As I see it: 750d: better airflow, easier to fit all my build into, Define R5: better acoustic level, Thanks for your votes and comments!

Hi I'm thinking about buying Corsair Obsidian 900D case cuz I'm tired of having not enough space or worrying something won't simply fit in my case. So it's like long term investment. Only problem is that I've fairly old PSU maybe 2-3 years now it's not modular. And even older Asus P5K motherboard. So I was thinking will there be any problems with the cable management? Like the cables being too short? Also I was thinking I could steal some fans from my old cases to fill some more spots in the new case but then I though what if I can't plug them in? How I should check this?

I recently finished my mATX build and have been using the stock cooler as I couldn't make a decision on the cooler when I was picking parts for the build. I've decided to go with an open AIO and my choices are the Swiftech H220-X and H240-X. I was wondering if the H240-X would fit in the 280mm mount in the top of the 350D?

Hi, I was wondering if any of you have had any experience with mounting a EK-XRES D5 Pump/res combo (https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-xres-100-d5-vario-incl-pump) in an Obsidian 750D case. I was planning on mounting it on the motherboard tray where the rubber grommets are using the included EK-UNI holder. But after some measurement, I've realized that the existing holes are not far apart enough and I don't have an electric drill to drill an additional hole. I was thinking about using either one of this: https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-uni-pump-holder-120mm-fan https://shop.ekwb.com/ek-uni-holder-50-70 The water cooling setup will be a front 280 and top 360 rad both 45mm thick. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hey guys & gals at linustechtips. I've made an account as I have a question regarding the 650D/h110i GT. Will the h110i GT fit inside the 650D without any modding? I've been looking around everywhere and can't seem to find a straight answer. Also, if it doesn't fit in the 650D, will it fit in the 750D? It would be great if someone can confirm this for me!

Hi, I have a Obsidian D750 with the 3 included Corsair AF140L My system is an i7 4930k on a Gigabyte X79-UP4 (rev 1.1) with 16GB corsair memory. It is water cooled with a EK H3O 360 HFX. The fans are controlled by a NZXT Sentry Mesh (5x 30W Controls Sliders) and set to a minimum. It also controls the pump. My cpu wont overclock at all even at high vcore so I'm running it at stock speed stable at 22 degrees. But the system is too "windy". My room is dead quiet so it's very noticable. I changed the EK fans with Noctua NF-F12 but frankly the results were exactly the same. There is no rumbling from the pump so I'm guessing the culprit is the 3 Corsair AF140L. However at low speed the system is still loud imo. Do you have any ideas what I could do to make it more silent? Thank you for your help, Regards Fred

Hello! I recently changed my case to a Corsair Obsidian 450D and a Cooler Master G650M PSU. Everything starts up fine, but some seconds later the rear and front bottom fan stops spinning, a couple of seconds later they start up again and keeps staying so. It might not be a major problem, but I find quite annoying. Any ideas of what is causing this and how to fix it?

I have a corsair obsidian 650D case, It can only fit 200mm fan in the front and 120mm at the back. I have options for 2 140mm/120mm or 1 200mm on the top of the case. For the top, which fans should i choose, 2 140mm or 1 200mm. Any recommendation for quiet and high quality 140mm and 200mm fans??

Hey guys, I'm building a new computer in December to replace this thing from the dark ages. I've already done some research and comparisons and have come up with what I think is a fairly cost/performance effective build. Just wondering if you guys had any recommendations for components I should swap, etc. I'll outline some points and decisions I've made so far before I list my part selections: I live in Australia so keep that in mind when looking at prices listed here. Ordering from one location only - ordering from two locations makes any savings on one particular item redundant as shipping has to be paid twice. Options are MWave (NSW) somewhat local, PCCG (VIC), CPL Online (VIC), unless someone knows somewhere better. Going for Nvidia rather than AMD due to Maxwell's efficiency and the desire to change after using various AMD chips for the last 7 years. Temperature is also an important factor due to the Australian summer (it's not even summer yet and it's 35 C as I am writing this). My last laptop GPU (Radeon 7670M) also fried itself this year whilst on idle due to inadequate cooling despite a cooling mat also being utilised at the time. Air CPU cooler because AIO water cooling exceeds the budget (AIO will be purchased at a later date by brother - see below) This is a build I'll be handing over to my brother around September, maybe later next year (I'll be building something better - probably 980Ti (if it happens) SLI or 980 8GB SLI - once the Intel Skylake chips are out) - at this point, he's fronting the cost of the GPU, possibly more. 650W PSU in case my brother decides to go for SLI in future or any future GPU upgrades, etc. Optical Drive is required - both my brother and I make frequent use of CDs. Going to give that Obsidian stealth drive mod a go for obvious reasons ^. In terms of cooling I'm more concerned with efficiency than noise - the room that the PC will be in has pretty horrendous ambient temperatures during summer which starts in December. Ergo that's why I decided on the Gigabyte over the MSI or ASUS. Personal budget is $1400~ AUD; Brother is currently at $519 - the cost of the GPU. Components: Case Corsair Obsidian 450D Mid-Tower Case $165 CPU Intel Core i5 4690K Mwave $285 CPL $279 PCCG $285 CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Mwave & PCCG $39 CPL $37 Motherboard ASUS Z97-A Mwave $195 PCCG & CPL $189 GPU Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1 Gaming 4GB Mwave & PCCG $519 CPL $499 RAM G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 1600MHz Mwave $110 PCCG $109 CPL $105 PSU EVGA SuperNOVA 750G2 Gold Power Supply CPL $145 SSD Samsung 850 Pro 128GB Mwave & CPL $135 PCCG $139 HDD Western Digital 1TB Black Mwave $94.99 CPL $89 PCCG $95 Optical Drive ASUS DRW-24D3ST 24x $20 OS Windows 7 Home Premium Mwave $119 CPL & PCCG $115 Thermal Paste Arctic Cooling MX-4 $9 If you guys see anything of the components listed that there have alternatives with a better price/performance ratio let me know. Also let me know about your experiences with Mwave, CPL or PCCG or any of these components. I've also attached a PDF with all the parts and their prices for easier comparison. Thanks in advance guys EDIT: PCPartPicker list Temporary PC Build.pdf

I am currently running an old dell with no graphics card. I was struggling to find a game it could play I thought mine craft would be easy enough. Nope, my computer can not play it. It can play fallout 1. So having this computer has given me time to appreciate older games I might have skipped over. I spend a lot of time watching let's play videos because it's the only way to get my addiction fix. So, any upgrade would be huge. It seems like it might be time to do some shopping. My CRT monitor is giving my eyes cancer, a 1080p flat screen seems so futuristic and now there are 4k uhd something somethings out. I have heard legendary tales of grand savings and unparalleled satisfaction from building your own computer. I am considering it, but I feel unworthy, ignorant, and incompetent. To get started with a build it seems like a good idea to set up a budget and outline what the use is for. Top priority is gaming, also I want to watch movies on it. I don't need to render videos or use photo shop or whatever high computing applications. I want one monitor as cool as 3 or more might be for surround visuals. I don't have any savings currently but I could save up a thousand US dollars over a few months... hopefully. I'm gonna say my budget is an even grand, although I would be willing to spend more if needed. I am firmly set on having quad SLI with 4 Titan Z's. Okay not firmly set, for sure. It seems like a good idea though. I tend to go from one extreme to another. Either it's way over kill, or won't be able to play something I want to. I want to play Far Cry 3 and 4, The Witcher 2, and MMO games, all on high settings. I have a fear that if I played any MMO my character would lag and freeze and die instantly without even seeing who killed me. I am interested in playing World of War Craft but my fear has prevented me from even attempting it. I want to buy any game with confidence that it will just work, without even worrying about minimum system requirements. This is something that has been really tempting I have seen people claiming you can play any game on ultra setting for under 500 dollars using parts like Pentium G3258 R9 280 or PNY 750ti ASUS H81M Micro ATX Now I know the prince of Africa who keeps emailing me, trying to give me millions of dollars is real, but there is some misinformation on the internet. If I can play any game on ultra settings using these parts for under 500 bucks I want that, but i dunno for sure. Please Linus help. Let me seriously explain what I think I want. I like the Corsair Obsidian 900d. I like that it's big, easy to work in, easy to fit anything inside of, has nifty magnetic easy to clean dust filters, nice viewing window. I'm worried down the road I might not like how huge it is later. I don't care about fancy lights and dials on a case. The 750d also seems plenty big enough. I really think ASUS motherboards are the bees knees. I dunno why, just watching reviews on them has sold me, or at least caused me to lean towards them. I want to try OC eventually but it seems scary what if I break those expensive things, and the UEFI BIOS, man those things seem cool. I like nvidia more than AMD for some reason, although it seems like AMD might be a better budget idea. i dunno. Graphics cards are confusing to me when it comes to what they can and can't do. I have given up on SLI for now. I'm thinking one good graphics card is probably best maybe the R9 280 is good enough. Also I've been wondering are you suppose to connect the monitor to the motherboard or graphics card port and what happens when plugging it into the various ways it could be done? For the power supply after I have decided on what parts I'm definitely going to get I'll let parts picker decide my wattage and go from there, probably corsair 600w gold non modular. Is parts picker fairly accurate at guesstimating wattage usage? CPU... uh maybe um.. I really am unsure I think I like Intel better than AMD but if AMD is better I have no preference. By better I mean fits better for my particular situation. I think I need something with 4 strong cores appose to 8 mediocre cores... right? To start off with I'm wanting just a 1080p HD screen, I like LG but don't really care that much, something like 24in should be fine. I would like to watch a 3d bluray like Avatar. I've seen Avatar but not in HD or 3D. Other devices like head phones mouse keyboard i'll worry about that later I just want to get the main parts decided on. That's all I can think of to offer where my preferences and opinions matter. I know there is a ton of options which is exactly why I can't fine tune any further. So what do you think is best and why? Thanks in advance for any help.

What the post says. EDIT: it might seem like a stupid question, but Ive seen people saying that it is bad in terms of airflow and some that say it is wonderful

Hi, Been trying to decide on a case for a new machine I am looking to build. I've watched the videos from Linus and then some on each of the cases, but which is best? - Phantek Enthoo Pro Midi vs Corsair Obsidian 750D vs NZXT 530 / 630? I am looking for: dust filters easy build room for the biggest of graphics cards room for kraken cooled cpu cooler either dual rad or single air cooling on graphics card or cards with standard built in would love for a smaller case atx mobo The 750D It looks quite big, are there any filters on it, it says there are 3, but they just look like grills to me? Looks roomy and easy to work with, has all the cabling, screwless design etc which is nice The Phantek Enthoo pro midi Smaller size (BIG YES) and still looks like it can handle a good few hard drives and a full size graphics card (or can it?) and is easy to build with. Also very nice dust filters. The NZXT 530 / 630 Not sure which is better, 530 or 630, I am leaning towards the 530 as I think it's the newer one and is smaller and has dust filters and the things that we should expect from a good case. Looks it weighs a lot. Is the 530 the same size as the Phantek Enthoo pro midi? Here are my thoughts: Visually I am NZXT, case looks awesome, but it's never going to be seen once under my desk For easiest build I am with the corsair 750D For smaller case and dust filters, I am for the Phantek Enthoo pro midi (is there enough room in this case?) The machine I am looking to build comprises of: EVGA GeForce GTX 780Ti Dual Classified ACX 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (03G-P4-2888-KR) (possibly 2nd when pricess drop) Intel 5930K 3.50GHz (Haswell-E) Socket LGA2011-V3 Processor - Retail (BX80648I75930K) Avexir Platinum 16GB (4x4GB) DDR4 PC4-19200C16 2400MHz Quad Channel Kit (AVD4U24001604G-4M) Asus X99-A Intel X99 (Socket 2011) DDR4 ATX Motherboard (I may switch this to the X99-S) SuperFlower Leadex Platinum 1000W Fully Modular "80 Plus Platinum" Power Supply - Black NZXT KRAKEN X41 Complete Water Cooling - 140mm BitFenix Spectre PRO 120mm/140mm White LED - Black fans Samsung 32D850D 32" Widescreen LED Professional/Gaming Slim Bezel Monitor - Black (to join my 1080p HD TV 40" and Dell WFP 30" I have 2 x SSD and 3 x WD HDs already and a Blue Ray R/W drive which will coming out of this machine. It will be primary a work machine (Programming and Adobe Creative Suite Photoshop, Flash, InDesign and After Effects) It will also be my entertainment system and gaming machine. What's your thoughts people, which case would fit all that in? have smallest form factor, good air flow, easy build and not require me to invest in newer smaller hands?

So continuing in continuation to this thread, http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/131704-new-case-and-psu/ I left the case for the end and I' currently 652.87$ under my budget, so I can have the case that I want. I'm hesitating between -the Obsidian 900D (awesome clean and professionnal look) -Graphite 760T (once it comes out) -Cm Storm Trooper (love the design) -Aerocool Strike-X air (Odd choice, I know but it's awesome) --> If I get this case, I won't be watercooling it or I'll mod it and watercool it like this case: -Caselabs TH10. Although this case is over my budget, I'm ready to save up the extra hundred buck and buy this case since it's awesome! Continuing my project I'll be watercooling these cases, once I gather up some more money.
