Hi, so basically my good old GTX 1080 just kicked the bucket and I now need to buy a replacement. Where I live the two best GPUs that are both readily available and in my price range are the RTX 3070 and the 4060 Ti. After a brief search online I have seen that they seem to have very similar raw performance at 1080p but I was wondering if there are any features available on the RTX 4060 Ti that are not available on the 3070 or if there are any differences in their ray tracing performance as I see the 4060 Ti has newer ray tracing cores.

I have been struggling with my PC for a few hours and thought this is the best place to make a post. I attempted to start my PC today and my PC was running extremely slow so I waited for a bit and eventually shutdown after not seeing any improvement in general performance, later I attempted to start again and I'm stuck on post the PC completely freezes (I cannot open BIOS from here) and does not continue the "VGA" EZ debug LED does turn on for a few seconds if that is relevant and I can access BIOS by holding the start button for 5 seconds so I believe my GPU in giving propper output. Could this be a corrupted windows install or is there an issue I'm overlooking (I am not overclocking any components) --Specs-- MSI mag B365M mortar Intel core i5 - 9th gen 2 x 8gb corsair vengeance Asus GTX 1650 OC edition --boot drive-- WD M.2 SSD - 250GB

Hello guys! I wanna change my actual GPU (rx 590 fatboy) but I'm kinda confused. My mind is telling me to buy a rx 6700 xt going around for 339€, but my friend is telling me since I have a atx case with not the best air flow ( I have 5 stock fans) he said i sould go for a nvidea since they run colder compared to AMD. He recommended me to buy the 4060 (palit) that goes for 339€ as well. I'm kinda undecided because I think it's not the best bang for the buck going for the 4060, even going to the 4060 ti (palit) is 449€ and both of them have 8g vram compared to the rx 6700xt. Btw, i can't use a graphics card that has 3 fans since it won't fit due to the fans in the case. ATM, I'm using 2 1080p monitors but I'm planning to change my main one to a 2k being the one that I mean to game. I don't know if it helps but my setup is: I5-11400F 16 GB of ram (that I will also update to 32) 1 SSD / 2 HDD Motherboard PRIME H510M-K Case 1Life Ray Thanks for the help, and sorry for my bad english! Best regards ! =D

Hello fellow gamers, i recently bought a used zotac gtx 1080 Amp Extreme edition which looked like a great deal, but it wasn’t. The card doesnt give out a signal but when i used it in my second pcie slot and my rx 580 in my main it hets detected by windows but it says it needs some kind of drivers to support the gpu or whatever. Does somebody know the answer to this? Psu, Motherboard, Cpu, Ram are working as they should.

Hi, I've a horizontal tear line that appears in the same place all the way across my screen. I notice it in gaming but also watching videos in chrome look at the tree in this video https://drive.google.com/file/d/14PoUoH6MFKO2bKouVM2z1zhqvBeKUOPN/view?usp=sharing (having just viewed that video back i think my phone isn't helping... there is only one tear line IRL) I have a lg CX set to 4k 60 hz and a RTX370 Ti I have vsync enabled in nvidea control panel it doesn't appear to lock my refresh rate in game. I have to enable it in game to restrict my FPS, tested this out on 4 different games. But even when my fps sticks at 60hz the line is still present. New to gsync so don't know if this is expected behaviour or not. Its a fairly new build, the only issue i had was the Pc not getting past boot on a cold start, an immediate restart and it would boot no problem. This seems to have resolved itself overtime though. Just playing around and it only seems to be an issue at 4k 60hz, 1080p at 120hz is fine.

I am planning on building a computer for my deep learning projects and casual gaming too. It was really confusing to choose between rtx 3080 and radeon 6800XT. Since rtx 3080 founder's edition is not available now and only choice for 3080 is expensive after market cards. Do you guys know anything about radeon's take on deep learning and it's software support? Please help me Thanks!

system B is multi-boot Win10 and Linux ( MBR ) system A is multi-boot Win7, Win10 and Linux ( MBR ) ok so could some one tell me why an A) AMD FX 8320 with an Nvidea GT 740 graphics card works fine and dandy no issues. but on an B) AMD FX 4130 with an Nvidea GT 620 (2gig galaxy card) and the Nvidea GT 740 when booting into win10 is always flashing at the logon screen? it flashes from the screen saver to black to welcome screen every second. to fix this problem on the AMD FX 4130 I have found i need to boot into win7 or linux and log in, then do a restart, then click on win10 and it will function normally (at least till next time). with the GT 620 Win10 reports loosing the graphics card driver but not on the GT 740.

Summary The US government is implementing an export ban to halt the sale of top-of-the-line AI chips to Chinese firms. This stems from the growing tensions over Taiwan. In addition to NVidea, AMD has received a similar demand for it’s top AI chips. Only 3 chips overall were cited in the article (A100, upcoming H100, and AMD’s M1250). Quotes My thoughts This is a big escalation by the US in a situation that many were hoping would settle down and go away. The deterioration of relations between the United States and China is very likely past the point of no return at this point, and we are now well into the beginning of the Second Cold War. As with the First Cold War, technology will be a major, if not even more important, part of the arms race as it progresses. Technology is firmly entrenched in the social fabric of both the Eastern and Western worlds, and that which has the superior tech will see advantages in every facet of the conflict. Frankly, I’m surprised it took until now for such tech export bans to occur. China’s aspirations have been obvious for decades, and the current decline in relations began well before the current rise in tensions over Taiwan. However, I’m concerned about the efficacy of such a ban. China has been engaging in tech espionage for decades (ie. Huawei’s use of Nortel tech). Given this level of espionage as well as their developing indigenous tech sector, they might not need western chip designs anymore. This leads to the matter of production. It is already suspected that a significant part of China’s desires on Taiwan stem from the incredible tech manufacturing industry that company has developed. With this in mind, could such a ban by the USA simply expedite China’s plans for an invasion of Taiwan? And if so, is the ban helping the situation in any way, or making it even worse? howdy fellas , not sure if I'm posting this in the right section but I'll give it a go! So I've had a Samsung Q55Q6 55" for a while that I use as my main gaming monitor, it's great but when I'm playing competitive titles I usually set my window size down to 1080p so I can focus on the game more. I have in the past gone into the Nvidia settings to change by resolution down 1440p so that I can use 120hz instead of 60hz, but the downside is that now my 55" monitor full screen resolution is set to 1440p, so even setting the window size to 1080p it's still rather large and "stretched". Is there a way to limit the amount of active pixels on the screen so to have 1440p without any scaling but to instead have black bars around? essentially making a 55" monitor smaller through software. Thank you Vmuch Zom_

Hello, I'm another one having the problems with quest 2 and laptops. after connecting and setting up the oculus/meta software together with a link cable, everything worked. my quest 2 showed up as connected with no problems. but if you try to activate air-link or something similar, then it gets stuck on the loading screen. after some searching the solution was simple: Disable the internal graphics card via the device manager. and it worked. i got into steam vr and it was running pretty smoth. until i opened vrchat for testing. in there i only got a stable 12 fps. not more not less. i changed every graphic settings i could think of (steam vr, vr chat, oculus ) but my framerate was stuck at 12FPS no matter how high or low i set the resolution. the cable is working properly (2.1Gbits in Oculus cable testing). maybe its the backround (laptop screen, windows) that is taking all the power from the GPU but its just a guess. anybody an idea of what could it be ? Hi all, just made this account here because I am completely at a loss of what to do. So I have a GTX1050 in my laptop and have my TV screen connected via HDMI to the laptop (uses my GTX1050) now I was messing around i. NVIDEA control panel (display settings) and I noticed that only the TV screen was showing up there. (i now know my laptop display uses integrated gpu unless im running games). So I clicked on the configure displays in Nvidea control panel. This set my TVscreen as my main monitor and I cant change it back!. Steps I habe tried sofar: changing the settings in windows 10 und display settings. Did not work Uninstall and and reinstall of Nvidea control panel. Did not work Uninstall and reinstall Graphic Drivers. Did not work Uninstall and reinstall of my TV Screen Didn not work Systen restore to Yesterday. Did not work WINDOWS key + P - > projection options did not work When I unplug my tg screen my laptop becomes main monitoe again as normal but the moment my TV gets plugged in again. Everything changes like its a profile. Nvidea control panel won't show my laptop monitor at all so how can I manage my display settings at all anymore? Any ideas are welcome... At this point I'm losing my mind! Thanks in advance :)

How do we find out if the external display outout of a laptop is connected to intel iGPU or to the dedicated Nvidea GPU My laptop is a Dell g3 3590 i5 9300H with 1660ti MaxQ GPU. There is a hdmi port and display port. In the physicsX of nvidea control panel it shows that the internal display is connected to intel iGPU. Also how does desktops with dedicated GPU only get display output via the dedicated gpu itself?

Good morning to all, I’m building a new PC and I’ve gone the way of the 3900X for the cpu but I’m having difficulty choosing a graphics card because I’m really hesitant to chose the 2080 super since it’s 700-800 dollars, so I reduced the budget to so that I can buy the 2070 super but then I started doing some more research on GPU’s and saw that although the Radeon RX 5700xt cost the same as the 2060 super the 5700xt is comprable to the 2070 super given the price point where the only GPU’s for the 2070 super that I’ve seen are close to or surpass 700 dollars and the 5700xt is only 450-499 dollars. Given all of this information I don’t know if I should go with the 2070 super over the 5700xt and.... the 5700xt has has had some driver issues but don’t know how it’s been doing lately... so what do you all think about this ordeal? What should I do team green or team red? Please give me you perspective on this issue so that I can’t better make my decision. Thank you!

Hi there I'm an 18-year-old student, I'm studying industrial sciences. So draw often with CAD programs. I also like to play a game sometime. I have a laptop (Acer Aspire 5 515-51G), this laptop has 256gm SSD storage. I would upgrade it with an SSD of 500GB. In my laptop there is space left for a hard disk (2.5"). I do miss a cable to connect to my motherboard. Would it be possible to make a video of this? Or to reply with a mail? I also wondered if it would be possible to upgrade my graphics card on my laptop. I now have an NVIDEA MX150. Hopefully everything will go well with your family in these terrible times. Greetings Jakob Ingels

Hello - new sign up looking for some advice / sign off as it has been a lot of years since i built a PC and the youtube channel and other sources have praised this board so thought i would seek your guidance. Now the schmoozing is out of the way... The build if is for med to high power gaming and is currently is planned as follows CPU - Intel i5-7600k Mem - 16GB corsair LPX vengeance 3000mhz 2x 8gb Gfx - Asus ROG Strix gtx 1070 MB - Asus Strix ATX z270E Cooling - Corsair H100i AIO PSU - Corsair VS550 HDD - probably some sort of seagate hybrid Case - TBD I plan on OC and think i have planned enough wiggle room in the parts to allow for that but i do have some initial questions i would like some guidance on also please point out any glaring issues as i have been saving money for over a year and id like to avoid component conflicts! 1. Is the PSU large enough? 550 is enough to run the pc at stock approx 330watts in total but i can't find any reliable data on power usage when OC'd 2. Are there any bottle necks straight out of the box that i will struggle with? 3. I literally CANNOT decide on a case...i have about 150GBP left in the budget and every case i read up on seems to have the same defect with regards to the AIO, they all seem to over hang the MB or don't fit properly. obviously given the ROG status and number of corsair parts RGB is important so a decent window is necessary. many thanks in advance

Hey guys. I have run into a bit of an odd issue here and was hoping someone could try and help me solve it. You see I recently upgraded my graphics card from a 780 ti to a 1080 ti. When playing any games (even low intensive games such as Of Orcs and Men) with the 1080 ti, the graphics seem very "slow" in comparison to what I would get with my 780ti. Not in terms of fps, as I get more with the 1080 ti and enough with the 780 ti. I'm not really sure how to explain it. It almost feels as though I'm running at a slower fps than I actually am. It's similar to that noticeable visual difference/feeling when you go from 144hz back down to 60hz even though I'm at 144hz. I can't see consistent trails but things just don't seem as smooth and almost seem choppy. I don't know if it's a type of lag, stuttering or what it is. When I put the 780ti back in, this issue disappears. It’s most noticeable when I do any sort of camera movement in any game. Almost like it’s struggling to show me the picture at a consistent rate and lags behind. On both cards I am getting considerable fps (all above 60) while even more so on the 1080 ti so that's not an issue. I have done a complete clean install of all Nvidia drivers, disabled that Win 10 Xbox DVR streaming thing, disabled streaming within Geforce, played with various settings in game and out of game etc. Nothing has fixed it. I used the same TN 1ms 1080p monitor (while I'm waiting on my new 1440p) with DVI, when I tested both cards. I've tried both cards on 60hz, 120hz and 144hz but mainly use 144hz. Does anybody have any ideas on what this could be and how to fix it? I've tried everything I can think of at this point so hopefully someone here can give me some more ideas.
