I want to build a "budget" gaming PC. Should I get a GTX 1650 4 GB, the new 6 GB version of the RTX 3050, an RX 6500 XT 4GB, or am I just getting scammed at this price point?

TLDR; Random crashing that I cant fix by any means of software, and cannot pinpoint possible bad component. I need help, because I have no clue what to try at this point. I recently upgraded my PC from a i7 9700k & 3080 (And other necessary components) to: CPU: i9 14900k (Mounted w/Thermal Grizzly contact frame. "Torqued" to exact spec) GPU: MSI 3080 Gaming Trio Mobo: MSI Z690 Force Wifi Memory: x2 32gb Gskill trident Z5 DDR5 6600 *I added another set of this same memory kit post build* PSU: 1600w EVGA SuperNova Storage: 2 M.2 SSDs (Samsung), 1 SATA SSD, and 2 HDDs (existing). *Boot on M.2 980 Pro* Cooling & Fans: Lian li galahad 2, x6 Corsair SP120s. Along with this upgrade I did a completely fresh windows install and upgraded to windows 11. When playing most games that aren't very low demand like Lethal Company, I experience random crashes at random points. These crashes range in errors but most frequent being ones from UE5/4 games (Alan Wake 2, The Finals, EA WRC, etc..) , the following are the descriptions from crash reports & event viewer. Along with an occasional BSOD, but never while playing a game, only when on desktop doing non-performance intensive processes. MISSING_ANGELSCRIPT_CALLSTACK EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION LowLevelFatalError Aftermath GPU Crash dump Triggered DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED BSOD: Memory_Management Among some " GPU Memory exceeded " or similar in Overwatch 2 randomly. These crashes typically do not happen in graphic intensive sections or have any trigger, my temperatures are never excessively high. These are the things I have tried to far to no avail: DDU GPU Driver fix, multiple times. Updating Bios, chipset, and any manufacturer driver under that applies. SFC Scan, fixed once, after that always says no errors. Different graphics settings (Running in D3D12/11, vsync on/off, hardware acceleration on/off etc..) XMP Enabled/Disabled I do not overclock but ensured no overclocking through MSI Click bios Memtest86+ Received fails on 1st test, no change. Tested each stick by itself with multiple passes, no errors, then all 4 together again- no errors. I have a hunch that it could be the memory, because as stated before I initially bought x1 32gb Gskill trident Z5 kit, then bought another of the exact same kit. I do now know that this shouldn't be done and if I wanted 64gb it should be from the same kit- but doing Memtest86+ resulted in no errors. My next step will likely be Clean windows install, and seeing if that makes a difference. If not, then RMAing Ram, Motherboard, then CPU. If anyone has any suggestions or if you are having issues like this please drop your specs and what you have tried. Thanks.

To preface I built this computer with help from a more tech savvy friend. Forgive me if I have to ask stupid questions I built my computer five years ago specifically designed to play flight simulators. It used to run the games. I played without issue for four years but recently the most games I played crash after five minutes after launching. what makes it even stranger is that they run perfectly fine before they crash. I had this issue for around a year now. I updated the graphics drivers from Nvidia and that stopped the instant crashing for about a day and then it went back. Last I checked the temperature on the CPU in GPU were both fine. I just recently cleaned out my computer and hard reset windows. The games used to crash the desktop only, but now they crash as you see here. Weird artifacts on the screen and then it shut off and restart my computer… I’m not very knowledgeable about this, but it looks like a GPU failure. Is there anything I can do or try to confirm? Specs: Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8600K CPU @ 3.60GHz, 3600 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 6 Logical Processor(s) RAM CORSAIR Vengance LPX 32.0 GB RAMM Motherboard MSI Z370 gaming plus LGA 1151 (300 series) Intel z370 motherboard PSU Corsair HX series HX750 750W power supply GPU MSI GeForce GTX 1080 DirectX 12 GTX 1080 DUKE 8G OC video cards HDD WD 4TB desktop hard disk drive 5400 RPM Sata 6gb/s 64mb cache 3.5 Inch 2 500GB SSDs

My thought process comes from wanting to use a dedicated GPU to handle the physics to hopefully get better fps in games that use chaos physics. Will there be GPUs in the future that can accelerate chaos physics? Is it already being done on my GPU? Is there some limitation to chaos physics that makes this impossible? And if it *is* being done on my GPU could I use another GPU to offload that work and get better fps? I don't really know what I'm asking, I just want better fps and if this is possible I'd use my older GPU.

Budget (including currency): $1500 USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Programming with Unity and VS Code, 3D modeling with blender, Gaming at 1080p, and VR Gaming, and Schoolwork with Chrome Some games I’d be playing: Half-Life Alyx Portal 2 Portal 2, in VR! Spider-Man: Miles Morales R6 Minecraft with Shaders Other details: I’ll be running games at 165hz and 1080p. I plan to soon get another monitor, I currently have only the one. The VR headset I have is the Quest 2. I have a current part list, and I was told that intel is better for programming. So I wanted to check another forum, just to see. (For reference, the person on the PCPartPicker forum changed the R7 with an i7-13000K)

Hi I am looking to upgrade my computer as I am having trouble playing games in 4K or 1440p even with DLSS like Hogwarts Legacy which I haven't been able to play for a while because even using DLSS heavily the game is unplayable. I am looking at either Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GAMING OC Graphics Card - 8GB @95.99 https://shorturl.at/jEJPW Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 Gaming OC 12GB V2 @ £285.99 https://shorturl.at/gqsB6 XFX SPEEDSTER SWFT 319 6800 XT @ £373 (Imported) https://shorturl.at/yEIP7 I am looking at running this card for multiple years so looking either at NVidia DLSS to improve framerate or the raw power of the AMD. I am looking for advice on which of the Nvidia card would be better either for the extra vram or the more modern architecture. Also the AMD is mentioned but not really likeky to buy to know whether the AMD card is worth the extra money as I would also have to replace my PSU as another £120. The rest of my system is Ryzen 3600, 32GB 3600 Ram, and currently a Nvidia 2060

This is a bit od but I have this older hp one the silver beats audio ones it was originally an amd system after upgrading the cpu I switched everything to an intel mobo with a gt 750 I think now I got board and ordered one of the fancy adapters from mini pcie for the wifi cars to 16x the only gpu that actually worked was a gtx 670 and iv tried Many gpu's including a 1660, 980 ti 1080ti and even an r9 280 and out of all of them the 670 whats up with this how can I truly know if something works and won't

Hello, I am currently running a I7 8700(non k also liquid cooled by AIO sysyem), 16gb of ram (3400 or 3600 also plan to add more to 32gb) cant remember for sure and an RX 5600xt. I want to upgrade my gpu to a better Nvidia card but Im not sure what my CPU can handle. The games I play mostly are Borderlands series, Howgwarts Legacy, Destiny, FF14, Vall of Duty, and a few others. I prefer Nvidia card over AMD as they seem simpler and you dont need so much tweeking ( i have a gtx 1070 in my wife pc because i think its easier for her to use). I currenly cap at 60fps 1080p med on most games. My monitors at 60htz so I cap my games at 60fps Inplan to get a higher htz monitor and 1440p mo itor depending on the gpu. I dont want to replace my mobo and cpu if possible. Any advice is welcome if more details are needed such as what mobo and the exact ram speeds needed let me know and I can provide.

I am thinking about building my first custom water-cooled PC but I don't know which components are good options/brands that won't cost me an arm and a leg. That's the PC build not including the water cooling components I already have the storage so don't mention it. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WHvxgB I want to water-cool the CPU and GPU and use soft tubing (as it's my first custom loop) and I want to use one 360mm rad if possible as I would like to stay under 500$ for the water-cooling components. edit: I already have fans for the radiator.

I've recently found myself in a position where it seems possible to get a reasonably high end GPU in the sub-$900 range (cheaper is better to some extent as this will also likely entail a PSU upgrade). My primary display is a 4k 60 Hz TV so framerate is less of a concern other than for longevity (which *is* important), but I still need something that won't have issues with 60 FPS at native resolution at a good quality setting. I've been leaning towards a 7900XT for the pure rasterization performance since I'm not totally sold on raytracing, but I'm curious if this is overkill in most people's opinion.

I just got a R9 390 from a friend, should I swap my GTX 1050 TI or is it a hit to performance? and does it work with windows 11?

I've been having random display driver crashes since I installed my 3070ti. The weird thing is, sometimes I can play for hours straight and not have a single crash, but then I can get them minutes into a game repetitively. I am getting an error with the fallowing info: Event Viewer Log Name: System Source: nvlddmkm Event ID: 0 Level: Error \Device\000000a3 Error occurred on GPUID: 800 Reliability History Problem Event Name: LiveKernelEvent Code: 141 Parameter 1: ffffb80fab8e7050 Parameter 2: fffff8056c769050 Parameter 3: 0 Parameter 4: 425c OS version: 10_0_22621 Service Pack: 0_0 Product: 256_1 OS Version: 10.0.22621.2.0.0.256.121 Locale ID: 1033 Things I have tried: clean reinstall windows DDU drivers, updated all drivers (cpu, gpu, mobo) remove all software that could be interfering (GeForce experience, MSI afterburner etc.) changed power settings replaced the RAM turned off RAM XMP profiles re-seated everything underclocking/volting changed permission settings for the GPU you name it, i've tried it. I've noticed a dead give away that my system is about to crash is the audio will start crack slightly before it. if someone with more technical expertise has some insight I'd greatly appreciate it. I'd rather no RMA this card unless I know for sure that's the answer. If I need to grab more info please let me know as well.

RIVA shows me a constant 60fps without any drops, a flatline frametime timeline, normal GPU and CPU temps and usage, but still, it doesn't look like fluid 60fps gameplay. My friend games look way better on his PC and he uses an RTX 2060 My PC specs are: CPU: Intel 12700k, 4800 mhz GPU: 4070 TI RTX 12 GB VRAM TUF GAMING ASUS RAM: 2x 16 GB DDR5 5200 MHz Kingston Fury Beast Motherboard: ASUS Prime Z690-A STORAGE: NVME 2TB Patriot PSU: 850W GEN 5 PCI-E ATX 3.0 GOLD GIGABYTE i tried: -Enable the rezisable bar from BIOS and check in the Nvidia Control Panel. Disabling Vsync and limiting to 60 FPS with RIVA TUNNER -Update Bios -Update Nvidia software and Windows 11. -Reinstalling Windows 11 -Installing Windows 10 -Disabling Windows Game Mode -testing changing the GPU to a 2080 Super and a Radeon 6700 XT -testing changing the motherboard and CPU to an Intel 9700k and 16 DDR4 -Changing NVME Everything and my games stay the same. Could it be my house electric current? Please, I invest so much in this PC, and while the games work, I want the best possible experience. I beg you Here are some video examples of 3 games, God of war, Cyberpunk 2077 and Ratchet and Clank Rifft Apart. Check other video Gameplay of the same games on youtube and they look way more smooth

Setup: -2 monitors both 27" 1440p run over displayport (main monitor is 240hz second monitor is 144hz) -RTX 3080 -10700k -32gb ddr4 trident z -samsung 970 1tb m.2 boot drive -fresh install of win11 (recent update but still had the problem whilst i was on win10 a few days ago) newest nvidia drivers as of 10th august 2023 Probelm: I play cs at 4:3 1920:1440 setup with a custom res in nvidia control pannel with fullscreen scaling run on GPU (have tried monitor aswell). Whenever i have chrome or discord or any other applications open on my seond monitor (as either fullscreen or windowed applications) and i tab into CS everythig gets shifted off to the side of the screen but goes back to normal when i tab out of CS. I understand that its because of the changing resoloutions and im not willing to switch off of 4:3, nor will i be setting my primary moniter to a different native resoloution so that it has a constant resoloution. I was just wondering if anyone knew a of a way to lock or snap the applications into place on the second monitor. Ive tried looking around and havent really found anyone else discussing this, not sure if its because im searching for the wrong thing, and I havent had much luck trying to get help on reddit. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated. Not currently at home but when i get home i can upload a video showing it if thats nescassary. Reminder, i will NOT change to 16:9 and i will NOT change my monitors native res to my ingame res.

Its the ASUS ROG STRIX 4070 TI OC edition. Every other model of the 4070 TI comes with a 2 cable adapter but this is the only one with 3 and I want to buy it (it says is the best performance wise 4070 TI model)
