So I want to install some fans to my PC as the case didn't come with any apart from the CPU cooler and I am struggling with all the setup. The set of fans I want to buy are the CORSAIR LL Series 120 mm Case Fans starting with just two at the front and was looking at an installation guide video and turns out the fans have two cables coming from them: one to the RGB fan hub, and one to the motherboard itself. However the issue here is that my motherboard seems to only have 2 fan ports and one of them is being used by the CPU fan. Will I only be able to install 1 fan or do I have to get a splitter and connect 3 fans to the single port on the motherboard? Will a splitter remove the RGB capabilities of all the fans? Are there a set of fans/hubs that could make setting up the fans easier? According to the guide both the Lighting Node PRO and the RGB Lighting Hub are required. With my current setup my temps are around 34 degrees centigrade for the CPU and ~38 degrees C for the motherboard when running just Chrome but I want to make sure I can have gaming sessions of around 3 hours with little risk. Games include Minecraft, Apex Legends, and Elden Ring. I'll make this brief and as concise as I can: I have an MSI B550 Gaming Plus and the fans I'm using in my case are the Lian Li SL120 fans. The issue I'm having the fans don't actually show up in the BIOS or in the program by Lian Li. I have 3 currently installed and all 3 are running as normal I'd suspect. Given that I can make no adjustment to the lights nor the fan speed. The sequence the lights are on is basic rainbow shift. I am pretty much an idiot when it comes to computers. No issues with the PC getting too hot. The motherboard, as far as I can tell, is not fitted with any ARGB headers. Only JRGB and Jrainbow. I haven't a clue as to what the similarities are, nor the differences. I tried to follow the guide as best as possible, but it's akin to letting a blind person be your navigator. Actually, they would do a better job at that than I am able to do with computers. If anyone can provide a basic step-by-step path I can follow I'd be very appreciative! I don't have any pictures at the moment, but if there are specific images you need in order to see where the plugs are currently plugged into which header on the motherboard I can provide that.

I grew up around computers all my life though, via my dad's job in IT. I'd like to think I have a good general knowledge of the components, what they do, what makes a good one "good" or "bad", etc. I've spent alot time over the past month or so educating and researching all that I can about building so I can feel more confident about doing this. I've found that the more I push myself to learn about this, the easier it feels to do. With that being said, I'm feeling good about my choices for my build and was hoping I could get a bit of feedback on the parts I've chosen. I plan on using it for school and gaming. I'm in school for architecture, so I'll be using alot of design and drafting applications, like Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUP, Photoshop, etc. As far as peripherals go, I've already purchased a LG 4K monitor, Magicforce 2 wireless keyboard, and Logitech MX Master 3. For the monitor, refresh rates and FPS are not a big deal to me, so I don't need any advice on that front. Any other advice or feedback is highly appreciated! Thanks!

TLDR: Have a £3k budget for an analysis machine, need hardware recommendations. Hello, I'm a complete novice when it comes to building but I thought I would give myself a challenge. I'm based in the UK and have just secured a fairly hefty research grant with a decent budget set aside for hardware. I reckon after buying a few neuro specific pieces of tech I'll have £3000 left for an analysis PC. The PC will be used to perform computational neuroscience analyses which includes machine learning, AI development, spectral analysis and quite meaty image analysis of MRI scans. As I say, I don't know much about PC hardware so I thought you guys might help me with choosing the CPU and GPU and maybe explain why you're recommending? Thanks very much! OS will be 7 Ultimate until 10 becomes mainstream and yes I am aware that the PSU is a little overkill but the goal was to not have to replace it if i build a bigger pc down the road. The target purpose of this build is a portable workhorse (CAD rendering, photo editing, ect.) and gaming at max settings. Plan on using 2-3 displays. Any comment would be a great help due to my limited experience.

Hello community, I'm new to building pc's so go easy on me if i ask too many questions. This will be my first attempt and I'm hoping to get some feedback on my future build items. Budget: $800 - willing to spend up to $850 only I will be buying everything in about a month or two (if that is important to know) Info: I'm a casual gamer and don't play much besides Wow, Diablo 3, and Bioshock infinite. I want to be able to play these games on high setting with decent frame rate. Also, if possible, to be able to play games like BF4 with at least medium to max settings. (if it's not do-able under the budget then let me know, please. It would be very helpful). The parts look OK to me, but I am a novice to building PCs so I wanted to ask the opinion of people more experienced than me. You guys think this is good, or should I change something? I'd like to not raise the price too much higher as it already goes above my original budget of $1000, but any ideas that could lower the price without sacrificing performance would be much appreciated. I should also probably mention, I'm far more inclined to make an Intel/Nvidia based build, it'd take a lot of convincing to make me go AMD.

CORSAIR CX600 ***Case: Corsair Carbide Series 500R So i was hoping to invest into a new system especially since certain components are out of date, the sections I noted in *** I want to keep the same but consider the price to upgrade those I could make a change if it's worth it. Uses/My background: I've done a lot of work with novice IT hardware and software support but usually worked with mediocre parts, work at a community college part time during highschool. I'm a big gamer but I really never needed much as long as the games ran smooth enough. My computer has never needed to be amazing to do what I needed it to do with my photography and indesign work. I've just needed my computer to just have enough CPU processing speed and RAM to be adequate. I don't understand what overclocking is and the need for it since the games I have played have never been that intensive other than maybe PS2 but with my current build it still play the game relatively smoothly at the cost of graphics. So why am I asking you guys for help? Well I'm a complete novice at computer hardware and the last I was involved with hardware with was with my highschool years about 3 year. My current build is a hand me down parts from friends. I started to intern for twitch and IGN and they have exposed me to a lot of high end builds and I see a different side of the spectum. I'm still in college and don't want to spend extra money if I don't have to but I value paying for more if it's a smart investment. So considering that I want to keep my build powered by 600w and fits inside a 500R could you guys give me some advice on what to looks for. I've lived poor for a long time and not expose to much high-grade hardware in my life so there a lot I have yet to learn. My main questions that I have no idea are what motherboards and graphics cards do at their different levels; what do motherboards do for you and why people invest in stronger graphics cards, why use two graphics cards? I have never needed that much but I'm willing to splurge a bit and invest in my own build that can last me a few years. excuse me if there are guides within this forum that I haven't notice yet I've just been watching linus videos and just started to explore the forums.
