Ever since I installed my new ssd and a fresh Windows 11 install, I'm always having this notification when booting into Windows. Basically, it prompts me saying: Microsoft Defender Antivirus is periodically scanning your device. Which in my case sounds fine. But follows up with, You're also using another antivirus programme for active protection. Funnily enough I'm not, but could Microsoft's PC Manager be interfering with this? Obviously, it's an open beta and you would expect stuff like this but I don't know when this weird notification started popping up. I quite like it, as it does actually lower my ram's utilisation, however, I would rather get rid of it if this annoying notification went away. Though I don't know what's making it happen. Any suggestions?

Hey, so I'm a happy owner of a Lenovo Ideapad Flex 5 which has a mic mute button that (through a driver utility) displays a notification on the screen every time I mute or unmute my microphone. Cool but that notification has a fade out effect about 4 seconds after it appears If you forget whether or not your mic is on or off you can't find that out (besides opening up volume settings in Windows) and that could be annoying or troublesome in some situations. So I'm looking for some sort of a basic on-screen indicator that would stay on screen for the whole muted period or maybe some taskbar notification icon that would change its color depending on the state the microphone is in. I'm aware of a software called MicMuted that sort of does that but only when you press a pre-selected keybind that breaks a lot on laptops with FN buttons...also it's completely broken when you insert a new audio device with input functionality since you have to restart the app in order to recognize the new device and it would still be muting the integrated mic unless you manually change it to the external one. When you unplug that device you, again, have to change the device. tldr; it's very janky and breaks a lot, so I'm LF another solution. My priority is minimalism - don't want a fancy app consuming a lot of resources just to do that, on the contrary, I'm LF the most lightweight solution possible that actually works. Thanks in advance! P.S. talking about a mute/unmute toggle, not push to talk.

Browser, version and OS: Most recent FireFox, which might be the cause of it, if it's not a bug. Steps to reproduce/what were you doing before it happened? Open the notification on a new page, close, after a little while the notification will come back up again for the same comment. Not always, and been more of a recent issue (no updates in browser since the issue). What happened? Just sometimes, there is second notification on the same comment Kind of random

An LTT forums app would be awesome! We could get updates on our forum posts and just get notifications when someone comments.

I forget to turn off my pc and it runs all night. And I don't turn my pc on every day, so I can't just set a daily alarm on my phone, or else it'd be annoying. So, if my PC is on and its 10pm, I want it to send me a notification to my Android Phone and/or Windows Laptop. Is that possible? I feel like it can be done natively as both my pc and laptop are windows 10. And all my devices are in the same network. Thanks. Edit: I tried using the msg command in windows, but I keep getting error 5 and 1722 using ip and pc name respectively.

Hello people Since PC is my main gaming platform and I sold my xbox one fat I still play games from this company like Gears 5 with friends. Where is the problem? I find the interface that Microsoft provides to PC gamers who want to interact in the xbox "universe" to be poor. My main problem is with the GameBar where I don't get Party or game invitations, so I have to manually enter parties that are often only by invitation and you can imagine how tedious it is for the other person to open it for a reason that they shouldn't exist. Before you comment, I must say that in GameBar, in the configuration and notifications section, I have it activated to notify me when I am invited to parties and games, also when achievements are skipped, which does not notify me either and I have to check manually if the achievement that I want to get skipped. . I don't know if I'll be the only one because my xbox friends play on console. Thanks to any comments that can help.

I installed the deskscapes application for moving backgrounds, but I uninstalled it because it keeps giving me updates saying it will run out of time soon, but after I uninstalled it, it is still saying it, how can I stop these notifications?
-
I keep getting background chime in sets of three about every 5-10 mins. At first I thought it was because of the windows defender notification, but after I took care of that, it still kept happening. I ran a scan with defender and malwarebytes to see if the machine was infected and they found nothing. Now i'm at a loss. What could it be?

First of all, I'd like to say that I really like how this forum is designed. Everything looks and feels modern, everything's in the right place and there are lots of little things that just work way better than they do on other forums. There is one little thing I would change, though. When someone quotes me or responds to my thread etc. a notification dialog appears in the lower left corner, which is very neat. The notification also appears in the "Notifications" tray in the upper right corner. When I click on the notification dialog it takes me to the relevant thread but the notification in the bell button is still there. In order to clear the notification from that tray I have to click on it and get redirected to that thread again. I think it would be neater if upon clicking on the dialog, the notification in the tray got automatically marked as read. Just my two cents.

There is this weird sound since the whole new facelift/upgrade of this forum where the notification sound sounds like the audio is being sent through water and then being heard through the water bubbles as they pop or sensible explanation would be sounding like peaking audio Am I the only one? I was ignoring it for the past couple of months hoping it solves itself but it still remains strangely

Hello, So i dont know if its right forum category to post such topic but well feel free to relocate it. So i wanted to fix my issues with dualshock 4 pad while playing newest Tekken (which is on PC ) . At first i didint notice but my pad was giving wrong inputs or additional inputs sometimes. I tried a steam option for controller settings but it is kinda uncofortable and i cant use controller if i alt + tab the game while game is in bordeless window (before playing with steam thingy i could do it). So i decided to dl the DS4Windows from http://ds4windows.com and run it but after launching the app my antyvirus blocked it and said it is potential ransomware danger. I am using Bitdefender 2017 Internet security . Should i remove this from potential dangers block list or leave it as it is ? Thx for help beforehand. Cheers

Greetings. The LTT Forum notification sounds aren't to my liking, and they appear to get louder the more notifications I have or the more replies have been posted, which can be quite jarring. Is there any way to mute notification sounds entirely? I'd appreciate any help with this. Regards, Aereldor.

Hi, I wanted to use the bell thingy to tell youtube that when I subscribe to the channel, I want to subscribe to the channel, but the best I can do is just get the list of subscriptions and click it one by one, which is really frustrating, since I have to click, wait for dialog box to open, click some more, wait for dialog box to close and repeat. So, my question is simple, is there a way to do this for all the channels? Thanks

I used to have all my system icons (like the wifi, sound and battery icon) in the notification area of my taskbar. Now I can only have one. I have them all turned on @ Taskbar settings > Turn System Icons On or Off. But if I turn on one or another it just replaces the one that was already there. I don't know what to do about it and Google search came back with all different kind of sulotions to problems I don't have. I now have the wifi icon up, because that's the most important one for me ATM. And this how my "taskbar" / "system icon" settings looks like. My PC (Lenovo Y740) specs: Intel 9750H, 16GB RAM and RTX2070 Max-Q Windows 10 with latest update and the latest drivers.

So you know how you can download tunes and set them as your ringtone. I CAN do that with my A50 but for whatever fricking reason I CAN'T choose my own notification tone. I have to choose from the pre installed ones. Thoughts on how to get around this?

It doesn't seem like there's much of a fix so I'm just wondering if anybody else has the problem of the messenger app pinging you with notifications when you don't have any notifications. Every time I open a conversation it does between 1-5 notification sounds. Every time I open messenger after stopping the app it does anywhere between 5-10 notification sounds. I used to think this was because of unread messages in the past, but I went through and opened every conversation that had an unread message and it still does it. edit: THANKS FOR ANY HELP!

Is it possible to get email notifications AND forum/browser notifications for posts that I automatically follow when replying? I like to receive a daily email with what's new but I would also like to know when someone replies to a post I've commented on via the forum so I don't have to re-check all the threads I've posted in when I'm actually active on the forum or wait for the next email update to see the replies.

For a couple months now I've been hearing this notification sound that I don't recognize, and I can't for the life of me figure out where it's coming from. Does anyone recognize it? PS. In case it's relevant, I've got Windows 10 64-bit 1803, and most of the common software you'll find on a gaming pc. (also, if this is in the wrong section, feel free to execute me on the spot) Notification sound.mp4

Before everything: this is not an hardware problem, that works just fine. Hello, I've recently upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10, but windows kept the windows 7 sounds (such the notification sound or that "ding" that plays when adjusting the volume) as the predefined ones. And when I try to change this, windows automatically saves my changes as a user-defined profile and not as the predefined one. How can I fix this? Here are my specs: OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 @ 3.00GHz RAM: 8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 398MHz Motherboard: ASRock G41C-GS GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Storage: 500GB Seagate ST500DM002-1BD142 ATA Device (SATA) Optical Drives: TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-224BB ATA Device (SATA) Audio: VIA High Definition Audio Thanks!

Now I'm sure we've all experience the frustration of your favorite youtuber uploading a HOT new video you've been waiting for and not receiving the notification that the video has been uploaded while some videos do send out a notification. Well my comrades this might be because of some misunderstanding that's going on which is kind-of stupid on Youtube's part I've found out that some of the channels I've subscribed and clicked or tapped on the bell icon for sometimes ends up with notifications set to occasional notifications and some get set to always notify, I seem to run into this mostly when using mobile. Now to the part on how to rectify this problem thankfully on mobile its much easier to deal with than on the desktop website but I will put instructions for both in here. DESKTOP Lets say you want to fix this issue on the desktop website: one way that seemed to work for me (about 60% of the time) is to click on the bell icon to change the notification mode sometimes it changes the mode, sometimes it stops notifications completely I can't seem to understand how clicking the same damn icon do 3 things in what seems to be a random whatever it feels like doing manner. now if the way above doesn't work and you still don't get all notifications Step 1: You see your Glorious picture on the top right of the page see that bell icon up there click on it. Step 2: The notifications dropdown menu will show up and you should see a gear in the top right of the small menu click that gear Step 3: Now you should end up at a page like this under Channel subscriptions you have the Link Manage all subscriptions (<-- not an actual link here) click that and you should be taken to a list of every channel you've subscribed to Step 4: once you find the Youtube channel that you would like to receive all notifications for look at the bell If the bell looks like this then it is set to occasional notifications which is usually what youtube loves to default to in terms of notifications click on the Bell and this window will come up Select "All" and then press save and now your Bell icon should look like this meaning its set to always notify. MOBILE Step 2: Tap the Glorious bell icon so that it goes from this to this one of test two or (<-- if you get this then you're done and you can enjoy the notifications) but if for some weird reason the Youtube gods decide to drive you insane or you just simply don't trust it here's one extra step for those who need glorious relief from the frustration, anxiety and depression dealing with this has caused you. Step 3: When you tap the Bell icon this should come up (at least it does for me on the latest Android version) tap on OPTIONS and a glorious popup will appear similar to the one you get on desktop Tap on "All" and then OK Now you can be happy to receive notifications for All the new uploads from your Youtuber of choice.

Hi. I recently switched from chrome to Microsoft edge and the transition has been smooth so far with my laptop battery lasting much lower. But I've noticed that the forum doesn't work too well with it. First of all, (sometimes) clicking the notifications icon takes me to a different page instead of the usual dropdown. This is really frustrating and never happened on chrome. Secondly, the quote button is a hit or miss. I have to press it multiple times for it to work. This has made replying to a comment really hard and a 2 minute activity instead of 2 second.
