Hello, I currently upgraded my PCs Motherboard, GPU, CPU and heat sink. After this upgrade, I have been unable to play many games that I have installed and was able to play before. I have ran games successfully on CPU (disabling NVIDIA GPU from Device Manager > Display Adapters) I am getting an error during crashes with nvlddmkm as seen in Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System (Included in screenshot) Note, this only happens with certain games, but not others. Here is current setup: Processor: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-13600K, 3500 Mhz, 14 Core(s), 20 Logical Processor(s) Motherboard: MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4(MS-7D25) GPU: Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 (GIGABYTE NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 WINDFORCE OC 12G GDDR6X PCI Express 4.0 Graphics Card Black GV-N4070WF3OC-12GD - Best Buy) RAM: G.Skill Aegis 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-2400 CL17 Memory (https://www.gskill.com/specification/165/185/1534753735/F4-2400C15S-16GIS-Specification) Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler PSU: Corsair TX750M Gold 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply Things I have tried: Updating all my drivers Updating direct X versions Updating BIOS Enabled NVIDIA game optimizations Using Display Driver Uninstaller in Safe Mode to remove all NVIDIA drivers and software, restart PC and do a clean install of NVIDIA (tried both latest Gaming and Studio drivers) and iGPU drivers using the tool Using CleanupTool_1.0.20.0.exe to remove all NVIDIA drivers and software, restart PC and do a clean install of NVIDIA drivers from the following site: GeForce Game Ready Driver | 537.58 | Windows 10 64-bit, Windows 11 | NVIDIA Using Intel Extreme Tuning Utility's Benchmark tool to check the CPU (the max temp doesn't go higher than 81 C) Using FurMark tool to check GPU stress test and temperature and FPS seem to be within limits, so no hardware malfunctioning I imagine? Running Windows Device Troubleshooter and found no errors Disabling onboard graphics from processor in BIOS Reseating GPU on same PCIe slot Reseating GPU on different PCIe slot Using different 8 pin power cable for GPU I will give an example of one game with its error as it might give some insight. When I play both Shadow Warrior 3 and Back4Blood (included in screenshot), both games will stop responding and the video is frozen, yet the audio still continues. I also get this error: "LowLevelFatalError Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. D3D device was not available to assertain DXGI cause." I am unable to close the game with Alt+F4 and have to use task manager. The process does not say "not responding" as it would with a usual issue like this. Is there any advice as to what I can check to verify what this issue is? Thanks so much for any advice!!

I'm having an issue with pfsense. Whenever I download some bigger files the DNS stops responding and I need to restart the macine. It's running the latest pfsense build. I had a similar issue in 2.6 when downloading but it dns would start responding again after a heavy download finished. Machine is an AM1 5150, 12Gb DDR3, two nics (1x dual port 1x quad port) I'm considering doing a fresh install if I messed up any setting.

Hi, Is anyone else having Task Manager Not Responding Randomly? Notice all text goes bold and stops responding. Simply closing it and restarting Task Manager fixes it again for a bit. Sometimes works fine for days at a time. Happening randomly and has been doing this crap since I've been using Win11 22H2 (was a clean install FYI). Have not been able to figure out the cause. Nothing is reported in Windows Event Log for example when this happens. Event viewer simply shows: The program Taskmgr.exe version 10.0.22621.2361 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel. Best, Will

-Black screen, then no signal on the output, followed by fans on the gpu ramping up. -Shortcut for resetting drivers is not working. I have to reset entire pc. -It happens about 3 times a week. -So far, it happened only on the first startup of the day -The exact moment can change. Already happened few times after logging into the system, and few times on boot screen - System is up to date (W10) - Drivers are as well, but there were some errors during installation right after i got the gpu, and for few updates that were released across last 2 months - There is a particular error in the event log, that happens about when the gpu is misbehaving, but it could be registered just because of unexpected shutdown - "The driver detected an internal driver error on \Device\VBoxNetLwf." Is there anything i can do myself, or should i consider sending it on warranty? My configuration: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X MSI GeForce RTX 4080 16GB GAMING X TRIO GDDR6X Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite

I was playing Valorant yesterday. As the match was starting I swiped across my keyboard hitting possibly close to every key. Immediately after, the game stopped responding and crashed. Now, I'm unable to run just about anything. In order to open anything without it crashing I have to run it as administrator, which is a huge inconvenience. When I tried to open Valorant straight from the file directory it tells me "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." I am the system administrator, how can I not have the permissions to open my apps? I tried running the built in windows troubleshooter and that crashes at launch too. I tried looking online but I honestly don't even know how to describe the problem properly to find a solution. Any assistance is greatly appreciated! I feel like it's some button combination I accidentally did (which will probably be a simple fix), but I have no clue how to resolve this. Edit: Running as admin doesn't always allow me to launch apps. They still often crash at launch.

I am having issues launching games and modifying program files on my computer. I can run Discord, Steam, Origin, and Epic game clients, but cannot launch any games associated to them. All of them give me the "[insert name here] has stopped responding" error message. I have tried to uninstall applications to try to see if I have a misbehaving app, and the uninstall clients all stop responding, and has also given me this error with trying to use the "Reset this PC" in the windows recovery menu. I am unsure of what is causing the issue. I rolled back a recent windows update which didn't help; ran the sfc scan tool in command prompt which fixed some files which fixed some corrupted files, but not the root cause of my problems; and did a deep scan of my computer for viruses and malware using AVG. I also tried to download another anti-malware (malwarebytes) to try and fix this and even the installer gives me the same error. I am at a loss, any help please? I have included images of some of the apps that have run into this error. so I am currently trying to create a backup using AI recovery burner. The first disk worked fine, then it asked for a second blank disk so I inserted one and nothing happen... so I tried a different one, and nothing happened. windows 7 is not even asking me what I want to do with the disk (i checked and it should ask me every time) when I go into file explorer it will not let me open or format the disk. I tried formatting it on another computer and then inserting with the same results, AI recovery burner just sits there saying there is no media detected. any ideas?

Hello all.So...I went ahead and build my own PC! Oh boy...SPECS:CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Corsair CW-9060025-WW Hydro Series H100iMotherboard: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Memory: Kingston FURY 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 MemoryStorage: Crucial BX100 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card Case: Fractal Design Define R5 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: XFX XTR 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM 64-bit Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link TL-WDN4800 PCI-Express x1 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter Monitor: BenQ GW2765HT 27.0" 2560x1440 60Hz Monitor Everything works great...apart from this one little major problem. When using the PC for Gaming (Firewatch, Oxenfree, Team fortress, Cities: Skyline) or Editing and Motion Graphics work (Premier, After Effects, Cinema 4D) after a while, the PC will just lock up. The sound will cut, the screen will freeze like a screenshot. The keyboard doesn't respond when I hit CapsLock (as in, the light doesn't come on). The fans still spin and the light on the case is still on, but it is not responding. It needs a hard reset to get it back. Now, this freeze, or lock, can happen after 10 minutes, 20,30,50 minutes. A hour or two. But it will happen. And once I reboot, there's usually a 90% chance it will freeze within the first 5 minutes of logging in. I have ran the Valley GPU stress test and found that sometime it would run for 10+ hours with no problems, and sometime it would crash in under 10 minutes. Basic use if fine. Web browsing, Netflixing, Spotify-ing and so on. I've reinstalled Windows 10 a couple of times...I've also managed to get a working hackintosh on this thing and it STILL had the same problem. The whole "install this old driver, run this, run that, do that" done it ALL with no help. I checked the temps off CPU and GPU and they're fine. GPU is about 70C and the CPU is about 50C. I've taken everything out and put everything back in. After each freeze there's no crash dump, no logs (apart from the one informing that the PC was shut down incorrectly due to me holding the button down I'm not sure what else I can do tbh. I need some proper advice. Any helpers? Cheers PM

My friend is having horrible stuttering in the culling. We wanted to play it because of the huge update it has recently got. But my friends client is acting very strange. His game client will randomly stop responding over and over and lags on the main menu. so far he has tried to verify his files which didn't show anything strange. The game has ran fine in the past. Thanks in advance for any tips you have. Specs: i5 2400, r9 280, z77 extreme 4 asrock mobo. Edit: There are spouts where the main menu will run above 100 fps and respond fine for him.

Hi, I've just recently noticed some issues with the vodafone smart prime 6 phone that I bought al little over a year ago as my first smartphone. The issue began with my screen not responding to any touch inputs when opening to the lock screen, this could be fixed by holding down the power button until it restarted but today nothing I've tried has been able to fix it. Has anyone experienced this issue or found a fix?

Hey guys, This problem has been bothering me for a while now and I can't seem to find a fix. As the title says, I try to open Nvidia Control Panel but all I get is a white window and a pop-up that says "NVIDIA Control Panel Application, 8.1.970.0 has stopped working". If I re-install all graphic drivers it works for a while, until it goes back to the stop working thing. Have you experienced anything similar? All help is appreciated!

Hi chaps, 1,5 years ago I bought my func kb-460 cherrymx red keyboard for around 75 euro's, but unfortunaly today it acted a little strange. The red backlight didn't go on when I started my pc and i got a message in windows that the "usb device' isn't working. I tried different slots and different pc's. It doesn't seem to matter, nothing helps, not even reïnstalling the software. So I thought, let's RMA this bitch! Unfortunaly the website where I bought it, went bankrupt. Oh dear... So the genius I am thought: well, I live in the Netherlands, which means 2 years factory warranty! however, Func, the manufacturer of the keyboard, seems to have disappeared of this earth. I can't reach their website, www.func.org, can't find them in the chaimber of commerce, or even write them an e-mail. So that brings me to the LTT community. How on earth will I fix this issue with my keyboard, or will I reach func. Please comment if you have any smart idea's! Kind regards, Pieter

Hi, thanks for reading this first off! I had a 4 year old harddrive that was starting to fail and i replaced it with a new Western Digital black 1 tb i got from microcenter. Inital windows 10 install was fine seemed as good as i could ask. After i installed all my drivers and started on the programs i was starting to notice that they would stop responding to the point i cant close em or even open task manager just restart and try again. Steam seems to somehow be the easiest to crash, i sign in and itll disapear and a min or 2 later restart and have me resign in. When left alone within a hour to 2 itll be completely closed and windows will barely reapond unless a restart. Any suggestions? Any ideas? It is only on its 2nd day of use and i have a 15 day warranty to replace or brimg back as well as a 2 yr extended and a 5 yr from WD but i cant be positive this isnt new hard drive fuckery yet. EDIT: i am about 2 weeks into new drive and i dont notice the crashing or not responding it stopped about 5 days after first install, it came back 2-3 days later for about 2-3 days then just slowly disapeared. i left steam and battle.net aswell as origins running no crashes all were responsive. i chalk this one up to fucking stupid technology bs we all love.

My computer froze, and I ended up having to force shut it down. It then powered up with my 2 screens looking like this (see picture 1) . I went into graphics settings and changed the resolution to 1080p and it then showed a screen on the bigger one, and did not detect the smaller one. Help? (running an rx 570 if that helps) Everything was working fine before the restart

Lately my PC has became very annoying, almost everytime i play any game on it, it crashes (but i can access task manager and can force shut the game to remove it from the screen). IT OFTEN CRASHES WITHOUT ANY ERROR while RARELY it gives me errors like "DGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED The video card has been removed or driver updates has occurred......." and " DGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG The application's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application....." . I found these errors pretty common online and came to know about the fix people use which is "TdrLevel" key in registry and setting its value to zero, i tried it too and was happy that it would solve my problem but it didn't, instead with this fix my PC would crash instead of the game (cant access task-manager or anything else and pc stucks completely). Tried the driver fix and Reinstalled my windows too but no luck Games i play; witchers 3, Apex Legend(mostly), NFS payback, PUBG and few more I monitor the temps and load too, nothing abnormal with them. someday it works fine but other day it wont even let me drop into the map on Apex legend. one thing more, i can even hear the sound when it freezes, seems like the game is running but display is stucked. I just got a new 2tb hdd by WD for my new PC and was able to assign it a drive letter and copy files on it, but after the 3rd boot up it doesn't appear in windows anymore. I tried checking the disk manager, but it doesn't appear there anymore, but it appears in bios? I also tried using a hdd adapter and connected to other PCs, I get the same result. Can anybody help me out, I really don't want to lose my files.

For quite a while now, programs on my computer freeze and stops responding. Most commonly happens with League of Legends, and often around 2 minutes in-game. To temporarily fix this, I must end the task in task manager. This does not happen every game, and not always around 2 minutes. Some days it won`t happen and some days it happens over 5 times maybe. I`ve updated all my drivers in Driver Booster 6.6 pro and I use Windows Defender and Malwarebytes. I am open to test if anyone got any suggestions. At this point I don`t know what to do. I will also try to provide most info if needed. Hi all, I have been having this trouble with my computer where it will just freeze, but won't restart. When it is in this state, I am not able to interact with the machine at all. There is no BSOD for when this error occurs, and it seems to just be happening randomly. It has frozen up when I was playing games, when I was trying to export a video file, and even just after a boot up it has just frozen up. I have cleaned out my computer recently, so there is minimal dust inside of it. It is a relatively new machine so the the thermal compound should not be an issue. My Specs Ryzen 1300x 16GB HyperX Ram (4x4GB) ZOTAC GTX 1050ti ASUS PRIME B350M-A (I don't know what wattage the PSU is, but it is one that I bought with the system) BIOS VERSION - American Megatrends Inc. 3203, 9/11/2017 OS - Windows 10 Home - Version 1803 64bit. If anyone knows what the issue could be, this would be a great help!

When I launch a game and go into a map, or games like CS where the menu is 3D, the game decides to not respond and just freeze there. I always have to close it with Task Manager. crashing issue Applications crashing and stuck on restart
SarfM786 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
I just built a new PC a few days ago with windows 10 and my applications have been crashing ever since. I updated everything and booted the official windows 10 from the Microsoft website. Everything is fine 90% of the time but sometimes my applications randomly stop responding, and during this time I cannot open anything or do anything, even if I restart or shutdown my PC it gets stuck on the restarting or shutting down loop. Hi guys, recently i overclock my i7 3930K to 4.2Ghz at 1.25v with MSI X79A-GD45 , the overclock is stable never had crash for more than 8 days, i only adjust the CPU multiplier and CPU Vcore, i didn't touch other settings the problem is after overclock the keyboard won't responding in BIOS (or before Windows) but it works when windows booted up, whenever i want to access the bios i must clear the cmos and then everything works fine. I already tried using a Ps2 keyboard but the results still the same. My BIOS is already the latest too... Is there some trick in the bios to make the keyboard useable in BIOS after overclock? like some feature in the bios or maybe ramp up the IO Voltage a bit? Currently a bit annoying to reset cmos whenever i want to access the bios.... Anyway, Thanks Before......

I'm rather new to building computers so please bare with me on this. Any help will be very much appreciatedI have recently built a new PC. I got it up and running Saturday night on 6/16/18. PC was running fine with no issues all night. The following day on 6/17/18 I continued to use the computer as usual with no issues. Doing my normal typical work, gaming and web browsing. Computers CPU temperatures ranging from 35-40 Celsius. Video Card Temps at about 35-48 Celsius. Towards the end of the night I installed the Asus Utilities download from the Support Page of the Motherboard which has AI Suite 3 and Dual Intelligent Processors 5. The next day on 6/19/18 I began using the computer after work to do some web browsing with some YouTube. After a while the computer monitor went blank and showed no signal. Everything in the computer is still running, fans, video card heat sink fan. I tried powering restarting via reset button in the front and nothing. I then tried holding down the Power Button and no luck with that either. I also noticed the HDD Lights weren't lighting up anymore either. So I had to manually shut it down via the back with PSU. I let sit for a bit and tried the computer again. I did the same, web browsing and YouTube. Left computer idle playing a video with no issues. Once I began activity web browsing. The same issue occurred. At that point at I didn't fire it up as I didn't want something to happen to the computer as I wasn't sure what is causing the problem. I then proceeded to look up threads for any similar cases but was unable to find anything, at least that I noticed. So I asked a friend of mine who has some building experience suggested I check Video Card for overclock. My Card was is overclocked by default. I can see this in the Asus GPU Tweak II Software. It has 3 default Profiles. Overclock Mode, Game Mode, and Silent Mode. I set it to default setting which is Silent Mode on the last try as it was set to Game Mode. When I fired up the AMD Ryzen Software I did notice the CPU was running Overclocked at a speed of 4.2GHz. As Far as I understand, the chip I have runs at 3.7GHz. I never messed with any settings to Overclock or any of that as I'm not to familiar with such steps. Now my questions is, what could be the possible reason this issue is occurring with the computer? Could it be the chip is overclocked? Hardware issues? Software Issues possibly? I'm afraid I could have overlooked something during the building process. Below is my list of all hardware of my new build. If anyone could provide any information or give me something to point me in the right direction. I would very much appreciate it and would mean a lot. I'm still new to all this and willing to hear and learn from others. Best regards and have a wonderful day. I will also provide pictures of my rig. If their is any additional information you may need of my computer please let me know. Hey, Windows did an automatic update when I was out, and it seems to have totally wiped and broken my Samsung 840 EVO. The drive shows up in Disk Manager, and list of drives, but I can't format it, write much data to it, access any data that was there. I've tried so many solutions involving deleting and creating partitions, as well as changing the ports and cables it's using. The disk just doesn't seem to want to work properly. It's out of warranty by about 6 months, so thats out fo the question. Any help would be great! Thanks.
