About a year ago, I've upgraded my Laptop (Acer Aspire A317-51G) from 8GB of Ram (2x4GB) to 20GB (1x4GB, 1x16GB). It always worked fine but yesterday, it just decided to not boot -> It starts, the Power LED turns on, but there is no video, the display doesn't even turn on. If I remove the stick of RAM that I added a year ago and replace it with the old one, it does the same thing. I have no other slots to test, because the other 4GB are soldered to the Mobo.

I need some help, what should I upgrade first in my pc? Fortnite on the lowest settings is running at like 80-150 fps when actively playing but goes up to 250-300 fps when looking at the ground. What will give me that extra fps. I would like tips on both what will make the most difference and what will be most budget friendly.

My computer had Windows 11 on it. It randomly crashed after over a month of perfectly fine usage, then it restarted. It froze, and wouldn’t get past the spinning circle with the Republic of Gamers logo (because of my motherboard). I have a perfectly good Windows 10 USB created with the official Media Creation Tool, and the same thing happens, it won’t get past the loading screen. My specs are below: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 4500 6-Core GPU: PNY GeForce GTX 1080 Ti MOBO: ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING II RAM: 32GB (2x16) Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz PSU: ATNG ATM-600FB EDIT: My BIOS version is the latest, 5102. I have a 64-bit computer as well. Sorry, forgot to add that in.

Hi there. I have a situation here. CVI extreme motherboard. Boot failure with code F9. Bios reset, BIOS FLASHBACK, try to boot with only one stick - all failed. ************ I was already giving up - tried as a last resort to boot with one stick of memory but changed its placement: from the last memory slot to 1st memory slot - miracle -boots up. Tried to change location to last mem slot - boot failure again. tried to boot with 1-3 slot configuration - boots and works fine. 2-4 slot configuration - fails again. next: 1-2-3 memory slots full-4th slot empty - boots and works fine. Now all memory slots full-boots and works fine. Can somebody explain to me why this has happened? thanks in advance

I want to preface this post by saying I am still very new to computer building, and this is my first build ever. My build knowledge is running solely off of research and LTT content. The system is an old HP Work Computer that was running some LGA 1155 i3 chip. after extensive issues and BSODs with the system, I decided I wanted to restore it and give it a few extra upgrades to make it a beefier work PC. Pre-Installed Parts: Optical Drive (Of Course) Infineon-B 696233-001 Mobo Stock Heatsink Cooler Upgrade Parts: Intel Xeon E3-1240V2 2x DDR3 4GB 1333MHz RAM AMD ATI Radeon HD 5870 750W Power Supply 1TB Western Digital HDD However, after the installation of the new parts and upon powering on the system, a warning buzzer was heard which I later determined to be a power connection issue with the GPU. The system didn’t POST and I thought that had something to do with the GPU error. After properly reconnecting the power cables and doing a complimentary reseat, the problems seemed to intensify. Now the CPU Heatsink Fan doesn’t spool up at all, and the system powers itself off after a few seconds of running. I’ve tried a different chip (i5), tried using new RAM, reseated the original RAM, took out the GPU and ran without it, as well as even clearing the CMOS. Besides trying different display connectors besides DVI or maybe switching power supplies, I seem to have run out of troubleshooting options. Any help would be appreciated as I’ve truly got no clue what I’m doing!

Hi there, i have a dell vostro 5481 with i5 8th gen, 1tb hdd, windows 11, 8gb ram 2x4gb Recently my brother removed one of my 4gb ram sticks and installed it in his laptop, now i had only 4gb ram and still the system ran normally with no errors. After that i got my ram back and reinstalled it in my laptop now i had my old config of 2x4gb ram back (the system detected it) but the problem is that the windows won't boot now, it ends up with a bsod error inaccessible_boot_drive and restarts and that error again. The hdd is being read by the system as i ran "diskpart" cmd and it is there with the windows partition. I also ran startup repair which found some errors in disk and repaired them, but the bsod error just won't go away. I searched about this error and found out my hdd cable/connector might have got loose (can that be a reason?).

This is my first time building a PC and I finished installing all the parts yesterday. The problems started with a couple of case fans not working which was fixed almost immediately after resetting the CMOS battery. I moved on to try to boot the PC with my monitor which did not work. The fans and the RGB would be working but the monitor received no signal. Upon checking the debug LEDs, I found that both the CPU light and the DRAM light would light up as soon as I opened my PC but the CPU LED would quickly disappear leaving the DRAM LED on. I tried cleaning the DRAM, clearing the CMOS, swapping places, and trying on one at a time but none of it would fix this issue. Here's my build: -Intel i5 12400F -Asrock Arc A750 -Asrock B660 pro RS -AZZA 850w 80+ gold -WD green 1TB -Corsair Vengence RGB PRO 2x 16GB

Hello, Im new in this forum even tho I have been watching LTT for over a year now. Im farly tech savy but Im facing a problem Idk how to solve. I was coding in netbeans when I notice some weird flickering in my system, mouse not responding well, etc, and so I rebooted the system to see If things become stable again and now It refuses to boot into Windows 10, keeps coming to a very generic BIOS that has limited functionality. My system is 3 years old, OEM is Samsung, OS is Win10 64bit, Cpu is I5 7200U, 8x1 GB of LPDDR4, ADATA SU800 240GB M.2 SDD, 1TB Seagate HDD. Every component is being correctly displayed in the BIOS but It doesnt boot for some reason. (Also I tried changing the boot order and nothing happened). If someone can help I would be very grateful, I really need my pc for work

So I got a 2-pin fan from an old PSU and wanted to use I in my new PC. I disconnected the 4pin outtake fan and connected the old 2pin fan into 4-pin fan connector, turned on the PC, everything lit up (the GPU) and all fans including the old PSU fan turned I figured even the CPU had power because the heatsink was warm to touch. After 10 seconds the monitor still didn't turn on and motherboard did TOW SHORT BEEPS. The monitor said no connection. Then I shut the pc down and removed the old fan, reconnected the 4 pin one, but nothing changed. (everything lit up and all fans including the old PSU fan turned. After 10 seconds the monitor still didn't turn on and motherboard did two short beeps. The monitor said no connection.) Google told me that it is a problem with RAM so I tried every RAM stick in every hole and it didn't change anything. I also removed COMS for five minutes and put it back in, but nothing.

Last night my PC just shut off and since then i have not been able to get a signal from the PC to the screen, i dont even get a "no signal" text on it. The GPU has power and on boot it starts only for it to shut off 2 seconds in. I dont even get to the Booting menu. Parts: GPU: GTX Strix 1080 CPU: I5-9600K PSU: 600W corsair. MB: ASUS prime z370-p ii I have removed by GPU and inserted it into my brothers PC where it worked fine, i have inserted my RAM, and they worked fine, I have inserted my CPU, worked fined. I have reset CMOS, no change I removed by brothers PSU and connected it to my pc and once again the same problem occured. The GPU booted and then died. I think that the issue might be in the motherboard, i inserted his GPU to my pc and once again same as before, died instantly. But when looking on the motherboard and once it is connected to PSU and is booted it seems to work and it lights up as before. I dont really understand how/why this has happend and if this is common or if there is a fix for it.

Hi everybody, I got myself an ASUS ROG STRIX X570-I-motherboard. I plugged everything in correctly and made sure that the setup is right, however, when I turn the PC on, the RGB-lights do flash, while the CPU-fan doesn't spin at all and I get no picture at all. Strangely, even the POST LEDs do not light up, so I can't use them for troubleshooting. I also tried it with two different CPUs (Ryzen 3 2200g and Ryzen 7 5700g) but the results were the same, unfortunately. Currently, only one RAM-stick, my PSU, the M.2-SSD with Windows 10 already installed and the CPU-fan are connected to the motherboard. I tried to keep it to a bare minimum, but still, nothing boots or even the BIOS posts. I get nothing at all. If anybody has a suggestion on what to do, I would be really glad. I appreciate every bit of advice.

Hi, So I've been troubleshooting memory issues for over a month now (extremely enjoyable ) & I've finally decided to RMA either my CPU or motherboard & I'm making this post to hopefully get advice on which component is malfunctioning (probably the mobo, but who knows, could've just gotten extremely bad luck with the CPU...) Troubleshooting: SO I am running an i9-10850K along with a Aorus Elite AC Z490 motherboard. I have used multiple memory kits while troubleshooting this (thank god for amazon's return policies <3). And all the memory that I have been using has been on the "approved list of compatible memory" for the motherboard model. Memory kits that worked/didn't: I first had a kit of Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 2x16GB @3600Mhz CL18. This memory worked perfectly without any sort of issues whatsoever. Then I decided to finally go up to 64GB & purchased another kit of exactly the same memory, but this time I got sticks with Samsung chips (my old kit had Crucial chips). Only 3/4 16GB sticks would boot into Windows (any 3 sticks on any of the 3 DIMM slots). But with the 4 sticks I managed to boot in once (out of about 100 attempts at changing memory settings). Everything worked fine & I stress tested the memory as well, no errors whatsoever & the PC ran fine for a few days until I finally restarted it because of an update & I was never able to boot into Windows again with all the 4 sticks. I sold my old memory & returned the new one so I could purchase a whole kit of 4x16GB @2666 Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB memory. I was never able to boot into Windows with all 4 of the sticks & this time only 2/4 of the sticks would work reliably, where as 3/4 would only boot into Windows rarely. At this point I figured I had to have a bad mobo or CPU so I just returned the memory & got a kit of 2x32GB @3200 CL16 Crucial Balistix RGB. With this memory 1 stick works without any issues & I was only able to boot into Windows with both of the sticks about 3 out of 20 times & when I did manage to boot into Windows it worked 100% fine. Just to add, I did reinstall Windows many times during the troubleshooting, removed the CMOS battery, tried every single available BIOS version, tried just about every setting for the memory aside from manually adjusting every single timing... I'll also add that I could boot into Ubuntu just fine, I guess because Linux isn't as picky with memory, but I did try that only like 2 times. The memory was also always showing up in BIOS, it just didn't wanna boot to Windows (it got stuck at the spinning logo right before you're greeted with the Windows lock screen wallpaper & this was the same every single time, example image bellow) So first of all, thank you so much for taking the time to read this post, I really do appreciate it! And I would love some feedback on what you think I should do (I'm pretty much just deciding if I should return my CPU or motherboard at this point or possibly even try to return both); if you'd like any more info let me know! Image of the frozen loading screen (right be4 you get to the lock screen & same every single time)

so recently, I arrived at my native place (I still am in my native place) and I found a Dell Optiplex 990 laying around. I decided to connect all the cables, plug in a monitor and keyboard and mouse etc. and it was working for 2 days. Yesterday night I had left it on to download a few games since we have a slow wifi connection here. Today morning when I woke up to check the progress, it was turned off. I asked all of the people living in the house if they turned it off and they said no. I left it at that and went downstairs for a while. When I came back upstairs to play a few games on the pc, it wouldn't turn on at all. It didn't give any beep codes, the fans weren't spinning, nothing at all, not even the lights which indicate that the pc is on was lit. The specs are: i7-2600(Non K or S Version) 16GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM SATA HDD Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Please help me fix this and feel free to ask for more pics/info about the pc

I recently got new parts Am320 pro max GTX 1060 SC 6GB Ryzen 5 1600 AF 8GB Crucial Balistix 16gb 3200mhz ram 600W PSU And I first got the parts and the cpu pins came bent me stupidly not realising put the cpu in the motherboard and built the pc as if it never happened since i didnt realise at the time the pc doesnt work and doesnt post at all so i google it and check the cpu for bent pins and There were bent pins , I recently ordered another one which came yesterday I built it all Made sure to check all the cables were in Ect and it had the same issue i googled more and some post said if your standoffs touch the wrong part of the motherboard you can short it i check and there is one standoff in the wrong place i fix that put it back in and it still doesnt boot , all the fans spin the power led comes on all normally the gpu fan stays off but i believe thats because its supposed to do that when its not under a big load since it always has done it And it still doesnt boot I've tried 2 monitors HDMI and Dvi cables and It just doesnt boot if anyone could help it would be highly appreciated , Thank you

Hello everyone! I'm a first time PC upgrader with no prior experience handling PC parts. I've been watching LTT in order to gain some knowledge with upgrading a PC. I've had this PC since Nov 2020 and was looking to upgrade the GPU and RAM after noticing a few issues with a couple of games. The parts I purchased were a RTX 3060 ASUS TUF OC and TEAM T-FORCE DELTA RGB 32GB (2X16GB) DDR4 3600MHZ RAM. I managed to carefully upgrade the GPU and install the new one, however the issue I'm having is with the RAM. I removed the old ram (Team T-Force Dark Z 16GB (2x8GB) 3600MHz CL18 DDR4 Grey) from the 2 DIMM slots and put the new RAM modules into the exact same slots as the old ones. I ensured that both modules were carefully inserted and that they made the click sounds for both latches. When I attempted to boot up the PC, the fans and RGB turned on, also on the RAM sticks, but I was not getting any image output on my monitor. My motherboard had a red LED lit as an EZ Debug Light, which had the topmost on illuminated (apparently a CPU issue). I have tried installing the new RAM into the other slots with 4 channels occupied, even 1 ram stick in one channel but nothing seemed to work. Only when I put my old ram back in did the PC boot up. Would anyone be able to offer insight into how I can resolve this? I have listed my original PC below. I am also using a 550W PSU, could it be that the RAM is using too much power? I appreciate any assistance, thank you! - TJ PC Specs: - Phanteks Eclipse P360X RGB Tempered Glass Black - Seagate Barracuda 1TB ST1000DM010 3.5in Hard Drive - MSI B450M Mortar Max Motherboard - Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64bit OEM DVD - AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with Wraith Stealth - Corsair iCUE H100i RGB Pro XT 240mm AIO CPU Cooler - ADATA XPG SX8100 M.2 NVMe SSD 512GB - Super Flower Leadex III Gold 550W Power Supply - ASUS GeForce GTX 1660 Super TUF Gaming X3 OC 6GB - Team T-Force Dark Z 16GB (2x8GB) 3600MHz CL18 DDR4 Grey

So my laptop quit working and I found that one of the mounting post for my heat sink broke and the other is about 1/3 cracked off the board any ideas on reattaching it? currently thinking solder or epoxy. This is my work laptop that I have been using for 5ish years now. and the last 3ish its been waking its self up in my bag (not sure how to stop that) The problem showed up first as a dead a dead battery and a windows up date then my computer started freezing and having trouble booting. if i got it to boot it would work for a few seconds then freeze or the screen would go black. there was also a point when the screen was flickering white and black with some horizontal and vertical lines.

Hiya guys, first post here as I'm desperate lol So I decided to upgrade my Pentium G3258 to a I7-4770k.. issue is that once the new CPU is locked in and all seems well, the lights on fans turn on a second then off again and that's all the action I get. Motherboard I'm working with is the Asus B85M-G. Everything has said that they both should work straight out of the box... I've updated the bios,, reset the battery in the motherboard,, and nothing yet. Ram supported by CPU is DDR3 and I am using DDR3 btw Thank you for reading -Bee

Hey there kind people! I have 2 GPUs - RTX 3060 and a GTX 980 Ti, both of them work if they are the only GPU in the system in either of the PCI-e slots. However, if they are plugged in at the same time, after powering on the pc it doesn't get to the BIOS screen and motherboard shows the "boot" error light. Now they did previously work in that configuration (both GPUs at the same time), I only ran into this problem when I installed a new m.2 drive in my pc. Next time I turned it on, it stopped POSTing. Later I even disconnected ALL the drives from the system, no m.2 and sata drives were left connected, yet the pc still didn't post until the 2nd GPU was removed. I'm thinking this could be a power supply issue as I'm running a Corsair 750w power supply. However before I purchase a new (1500w) PSU I want to have some confidence that it will actually solve the issue. My PC specs are: Ryzen 5950x 32 GB RAM ROG Strix B450-F Gaming Corsair RM750x PSU GPUs (can only use one at the time because of this): RTX 3060 EVGA GTX 980 Ti Gigabyte Xtreme Drives: 1TB WD nvme m.2 ssd 256GB kingston ssd 2TB Seagate HDD 4TB Seagate HDD
