I’m looking for a way to install and play and old horror game called “Mysteriet på Greveholm” from 1997 in Windows 10. The game was originally released on CD-ROM but has been converted into an .ISO-file. Here’s a link to a YouTube video with a download link in the video description: Here’s a direct download link: https://archive.org/download/mystery-at-greveholm/Mystery at Greveholm%2C The (1997)(Young Genius)(M10)[Mac-PC].iso < removed by moderator > The question is, how do I play this in Windows 10? I do really appreciate all help I can get. This game was my childhood.

hey guys, i just built a very basic starter Pc for a buddy of mine. it has a AMD Athlon X4 645 paired with a GTX 560 and 8gbs of ddr3 ram @1333mhz. and seeing his face light up from it was awesome! This is his first real experiance with pc gaming. and when seeing his excitement I thought damn, like i didnt get into pc hardware/ gaming until 2016 but if i had a rig like that i wouldve went nuts in 2012-2014ish. so what do you think? was that a good system back then? or what was your first Pc build? im curious of how nostalgic we can get. i would love for linus and the gang to do a vid with this idea

Hi I was just thinking back about when my first PC happened and the various upgrades over the years. I was lucky enough to see a large range of changes in the PC world and how its been a long time since a true hype change. I was wondering what peoples most impactful events regarding the PC were to them, it would be cool from a "Big tech milestones" perspective. First PC Experiance: My dad brining home a 286 based prebuilt PC with a Color Monitor (Hardcore) running windows 3.1, all I did was play with MS Paint until it was bed time. Most impactful memory: Quake came out and that was the first time seeing true 3d graphics, a 3dfx voodoo rush GPU ended up following soon (First 3dfx gpu do have 2d+3d built in), I remember that being a life changing experience for me in my PC world. Latest memory of a wow this is lifechanging factor PC change: SSD's

Which case took your V-Card? Was it that scantily clad Lan Boy? That Cooler Master Stacker? Or maybe that Antec 900(I heard they get around). Whatever the case it's time to take a trip down memory lane, and share the case the housed your very first build! Please post pics if you can find them or the name of your beloved first case. When I was a kid I used to play an RPG, but I can't remember it's name no matter how much I try. All I remember is that you could start the game with one of three character each character starts the game in a different map. The first character was a man with a sword you start with two paths in front of you, to the right is a tunnel where you find giant spiders and to the left is some stairs, if go up the stairs you'll find humanoid monsters The second character is a woman with a bow And the third character is (I think but not very sure) a man with an axe With the second or third character (I don't really remember which one) you start in map with a lot of traps and puzzles and little to no enemies Don't ask me about the graphics because NUGE (nostalgia ultimate graphics enhancement) will kick in If anything here rings a bell please tell me I'm really craving that game no matter how bad the graphics are edit: I think I was 12 or younger when I played this game so that's before 2011, also it was a first or third person game (probably first person), and it was a single player game not an MMO

I just downloaded The legend of zelda wind waker and twilight princess from <content removed> and they were both 1.46gb after being unzipped with 7-zip. Im just wondering if this size looks fine and if the website looks fine aswell. Im pretty sure the websites fine, but searching the game's sizes on google says they're 1.13gb on the gamecube so i don't know why it's bigger. Should i care, should it be a problem? BTW, i'm using dolphin 5.0 emulator and both games run fine at the start (that's as far as i've gotten) Thanks for any help

After watching the LTT video on the X Box sleeper build, I wanted to do my own. I went with the: i5 8400 (looking back, I probably should have got the 9400f) - for power efficiency and cost Gigabyte RTX 2060 mini itx - small size, fit budget and performance needs Asus ROG Strix b360-i gaming - did not need overclocking support, was the cheapest intel MOBO with a built in IO shield For the power supply, I had to get creative. I ended up going with an HD plex 400 watt solution, which allows me to plug in a gaming laptop power adapter to power full size dsktop parts. I paired it with a 330 watt dell charger that I got on amazon for about 100 CAD. The HD Plex power adapter cost around 130. The unit is about the size of an ice cream sandwich, which is ideal for the small area Inside the Xbox. As for the mounting points, I 3D printed some basic shells to replace the metallic lining of the X Box and allow for mounting of hardware. I also cut a hole in the bottom of the X Box using a drill press in order to insert a 120 mm intake fan. Next I Crammed in all of my hardware, and had the problem of wiring up the power, reset, and LEDs on the front panel. I found this diagram online and used cable extensions. The male ends fit perfectly with the X Box connectors. I also 3D printed a stand to raise the X Box above the ground and allow the intake fan to pull in enough air. I also added three 60 mm fans outside the perforated edges to the stand to pull excess hot air out of the case. If any of you have suggestions for how to improve this, let me know :)

Files too big for a floppy. You 'member? Oh, I 'member!
PineyCreek posted a topic in Storage Devices
For all those that remember using floppy disks of a 5.25" or 3.5" (or larger, or comparable metric sizes), do you remember your first experience with a file too big to fit on a floppy disk? What was your reaction? What was your solution? In my case I was trying to get a...certain...file...from the only computer in the house with dial-up access to my 286 secondhand computer. I had to use a DOS program called 'slice.com' to break it up over 3 1.44MB floppies and a companion program 'splice.com' to put it back together. PKZip and PKUnzip wasn't going to cut it for this file. My...how far we've come.- 20 replies

Ive been on this forums for about a year and a half, so i am going to waste your time by looking back at some of my older posts! Chapter 1 - Humble beginnings This was the era of me first joining and completing my first "gaming PC" My first post! My first thread Troubles with my first "Gaming PC" One of my favorite posts That got dark... My dumbest post My most loved reply Chapter 2 - Core 2 era This is the era after the completion of the "Core 2 duo gaming PC" i have the fondest memories of the stuff that i did in this era The mentioned "core 2 duo gaming pc" More richer Side note: During this era, i played many games such as TF2, asphalt 8 and unturned. and sometimes i just want to go back to those times.... (cue sad music) Wait til' ryzen! Funny joke? @Being Delirious Intel 8th gen! i guess now that there is intel 8th gen...there not 16bit? You will never guess my password! Am i a hipster? Oh yea...i actually found a recycling center, posted a review on google saying you can get PC parts there, then the said they no longer sell PC parts..WTF? Attack of the killer bees? Chapter 3 - GTA Era This is the chapter after i got my hands on a copy of gta 5 for the PC...even though i was still using the c2d machine Then i was wondering why it ran like shit... But i still loved the game Then i got vista. And that started a flame war... My most controversial post to date Fun fact about myself There are lots more but they're pretty bland Chapter 4 - 2018 At the turn of the new year, my posts were kinda Shit and had no point Busted! I got tired of hearing about ryzen So i was posting shit, then i realized i was posting shit and posted this. Chapter 5 - NOW So that leads me to today, i put ALOT of work into this post, and i dont know whats to come in the future. I guess ill find out! Extra notes: Plllllease don't flag this as "status update material" because honestly, this would be quite big for a status update, if it does get locked i will be less than happy..... Thanks for reading! Edit: i guess the images got messed up lol -
Being born in the distant past of '92 I sure do miss the blockier and simpler look of Windows 98. If only Classic Theme wasn't removed from Windows 10 I'd be able to get the true old experience of it, there are some work arounds, but nothing seems to match the true golden look. Maybe I should buy a crt.

It will ship with 80 games built in, as well as support for Mega Drive/Genesis cartridges. Features: 80 built-in gameslers in the pack 'Plug n Play'on any TV (Via VGA) Includes beloved Sonic the Hedgehog games Includes all 3 original Mortal Kombat games Two user friendly wireless SEGA MegaDrive controllers Compatible with SEGA MegaDrive cartridges* (not included) Includes AV cables Includes AC adapter My feelings on this are the same as my thoughts on the mini-NES: These will be awesome for a cabin or any place that doesn't have internet access... otherwise I'll just use emulators or the Sega Collection on Steam. Disappointing at the lack of HDMI support though. Edit: I forgot to mention, it will be out October 2016 Edit2: I spelt 'heels' wrong... #fail (thx @forthe48)

Simply out of curiosity. What's the oldest graphics card you remember getting and feeling like an absolute boss for having? I remember when I got my Riva TNT2 Pro and felt like an absolute king for having 32MB of VRAM.

Hi, when i was looking for some random pc accessories in the basement, i found my older brothers old pc from 2005~. i had a lot of good memories from playing on this old thing but most of the parts were salvaged afterwards when we built an other pc for my younger brother back at 2007. so i was pleasantly surprised when i found neatly wrapped in an antistatic bag without any dust covering it, considering it have just been laying around for about 10 years. so the first thought was what i could do with this old card, but i couldn't really come up with any good ideas, as the bloody thing is to old to play the games that came out after 2007 and basically the only games i could think of was to make a pc for the very old games but i got other pc's for that already. So my question is, What would you do with older hardware, such as Gpus and Cpus " The grafics card in question is a Radeon Sapphire X800 GTO Ultimate " any advice ?

I'm trying to think of old nostalgia games from the 90's such as Duke Nukem or others like Xcom. If someone could name a few games it would help out quite a bit. I love retro gaming but I can't find any good games besides Half Life or XCOM. Also GLORY TO ARSTOTZKA!

My first build was in 2001, the summer before my freshman year of high school. My mom of course bought everything, as it was supposed to help with all the computery things high school would require! haha... It was based on the weird and short-lived Socket 423 First-Generation Intel Pentium 4 1.4Ghz CPU aka Willamette Since I didn't know about aftermarket motherboard makers at the time, I bought an Intel D850GB. It actually outperformed a lot of aftermarket boards, but didn't allow overclocking at all. It also had 256MB of this ridiculously expensive RAMBUS RAM, which had really high bandwidth for the time, but was dropped from the very next Pentium 4 update. I also begged my mom for a good graphics card, and I ended up getting a kick-ass ORIGINAL Radeon 64MB DDR VIVO. It wasn't as fast as a Geforce 2 Pro, but it was right in contention with my friend's Geforce 256. I had a lot of great memories with that first PC. Running 3DMark 2001, playing Diablo II, LANing Unreal Tournament with friends. Just awesome. I had that build until Summer 2005 when it was time for college the next semester. So what was your VERY FIRST DIY PC BUILD?!

Source So, after a succesful steam reboot of the franchise, it is getting a new expansion pack called Tale of the Dragon that adds Chinese mythology to the game. I think this is AWESOME, I to this day still play this game, and to see it (still) getting the support it deserves is a great thing in my opinion. On a separate note, they're also working on an expansion for Age of Empires that will be set in Africa, but as far as I know that's been known since E3.

So I'm curious to know, what was the game that started it all for you guys? The very first game that you ever played that put you on the track to being the ever loving gamer you are today! Feel free to include some box art of the game, or if you still happen to have a physical copy of the game include that as well! The very first game I ever played was Super Metroid for the SNES and I still have the original cartridge which still hold the first file I ever made in the game.

Lets face it, a large reason why a lot of poeple hated windows 8 is that you were forced to download solitaire from the windows store, well Microsoft heard all the complaints loud and clear and they have decided that they are going to bring it back as a part of the OS. I mean some of you guys complained about the start menu, but lets face it, most of the complaints came from lack of solitaire. Lets just hope that they bring back minesweeper and hearts as well. http://www.theverge.com/2015/4/23/8477521/windows-10-solitaire-returns

And i dont mean "OMG 1000GIGABYTES OF VRAM" impressed, i mean "Jesus christ what is this anti aliasing wizardry ?!" impressed My first GPU ever was a Rendition Verité V2200, PCI, 8MB of ram (u wot 980 ?), the performance was not bad but driver support was a nightmare But it was special, 3D only GPU's were on their first steps and basically everything was an innovation, 1600x1200 was the 4K (and you could actually notice that) and running GLQuake with a Geforce 4 + Voodoo 2 setup was only possible in my imagination. I remember you had to use a 2D card coupled with a 3D card and use some black magic nonsense to make it work, that was before both 2D and 3D acceleration were implemented on a single chip I still have shivers when i look at this and i'm sure some of you will feel the same > The almighty, never released, Voodoo 5 6000 in all it's quad SLI glory Correct me if i'm wrong, or maybe I just feel way too nostalgic but I feel like nowadays GPU makers don't try to innovate that much, i mean all we get every year is faster clock speeds and more/faster ram and the usual efficiency progress, but that's it "mainly", nothing really new, it's just a race to the lowest temps and highest benchmark scores just to claim that this or that GPU is the fastest one What do you think ?

So a friend of a friend asked if I wanted to pick up a Viewsonic 24" 1080P LCD for 50 bucks, so I agreed. I'll find some use for it eventually. Then the friend of a friend asked if I was interested in buying a box of random computer parts. So I asked him to send me some photos of the product and only saw a bunch of DDR2 sticks, a few pentium 4 chips and some random video cards. He wanted 150 for them and as much fun as it might be to dig through it, I passed on the offer. I guess he couldn't find a buyer cause when my friend came to drop off the monitor she handed me the entire box and mentioned the guy said I could just have it. Let's see! (Keep in mind there are actually around 10 more video cards, around 50 sticks of DDR2, a few more random AM2 Athlons a Garmin Nuvi and a few sound cards.) I know some here people might appreciate these. I'll add to these later.
