Good evening everyone, I have been building computers for some time now and I have encountered a very odd issue. I received a replacement AIO ( Nzxt kraken x53) due pump rattling noise issues. I went ahead and replaced it, following very carefully cleaning off the old thermal paste on the cpu (Ryzen 5800x) and applied the new. I took off the pre applied thermal paste on the new AIO. The swap was very quick and easy per usual. However now when putting everything back together the computer will not power on at all. Here is a list of all the troubleshooting I am able to do. 1. Checked and reseated all cable for the AIO, computer still doesn't power up. 2. I checked and reseated all power supply cables on the motherboard (8 pinCPU and main 20 pin connector) computer still doesn't power up. 3. I have a spare PSU and I unplugged all off the main PSU (inside the case) and plugged all components to my spare PSU. I hear a small faint click sound but computer still doesn't power on. 4. I have removed and reseated the ram as well. No change. 5. I connected the new AIO by itself to my spare PSU, I do hear the pump working. At this point I am at a bit of a loss. All did was change out a defective AIO for and new one. My mother board is a Asus ROG strix i570 itx. Case being used is a cooler master nr200 Any advise regarding this would be most appreciated. I am still checking other possibilities. Thank you, Mario

So I'm in the process of building my first PC after a few months of gather parts and planning and today was the day I decided to put it together. I thought it would be a good idea to make sure there was no faulty components by setting it up on the motherboard's box. I set it up and it worked. The RGB on my RAM lit up and I used a screwdriver to boot the PC, and it posted! Well after that I flipped off the power supply and I tried to take the graphics card out, but it came out funny because I must have not flipped up the safety tab. Well the safety tab popped off and that was the only thing I could see that I screwed up (although I did put the tab back on later, like I said it popped off, it isn't damaged). I put it back in to make sure I didn't kill anything and sure enough now when I flip the power on it will not do anything. I reseated the card several times and I replugged in all the power cables. Nothing seemed to work. I figure tomorrow I will test to see if I killed the card but I want to know if there is an easy way to tell if I damaged anything else. My guess is that either I killed it somehow with the gpu or turning off the psu while it was running killed it. I don't know why the psu thing would have killed it because when I looked it up people were saying that is what you are supposed to do. For reference I am using a b550i aorus pro ax for the motherboard, a Ryzen 5600x for the cpu, and a RTX 3060 for the gpu. Thank you in advance.

My friend gave me a GPU for free. He said it was broken. I tried it and no surprise nothing happened. I took the cooler off and tried to start it again Because I wanted to feel if the chip even gets warm. But it was cold after 30 minutes. The fans and LEDs were on but everything was cold. I tried to test some resistors with my multimeter but I don't even know how my multimeter works haha. The PCB looks normal. I can't see any damage but it looks like for me that the chip doesn't get power The GPU is a MSI Geforce gtx 960 2gb v320 rev 2.0 Sorry for my bad English, Im from Germany

Hii guys first time poster looking for some help So today when i was watching YouTube in my pc it suddenly turned off. So after trying to start it again it would turn on for a second or half and turn off again. After doing all the normal trobleshooting stuff i came to know that it powered on when the 8 pin connector was not plugged in the motherboard. My specs are CPU - ryzen 3 2200g GPU- gigabyte gtx 660ti windforce oc 2gb Mobo- asus ex 320m gaming Ram- hyperx fury black 4gb two stacks total 8gb ram Stock cpu cooler from amd Hdd- seagate baracuda 1 tb Ssd - wd green 120 gb Psu - corsair tx 750 So is it my cpu ?mobo?psu? Please help

TLDR; PSU not powering up any of my PCs. Paperclip test does power on the PSU. Stopped working after a power loss. Ok, weird issue: System has been running fine for about 8 days (Fresh build all new components) System was kept on last night doing some housekeeping. Before I woke up, someone turned of the power at the circuit breaker to change a outlet somewhere else in the house. Naturally - the PC was then off once I woke up (power outrage - no surges or what not, just basically unplugging PC while it's on) (Another PC - also on over night was off but could turn it on normally - no problem there) So when I woke up, tried turning on the PC - annnnnd No go. No fan spin up nor any RGB . I thoughts it's weird maybe the outlet is not working? But - I did the lamp test and there's power and all is well. So PSU just doesn't turn on when pressing power button. (The Mobo doesn't have a standby light) Installed PSU into an older PC/mobo Great - the standby light is on - so there is power coming through the PSU. But now... when I press the power button on this older PC, still no turning on or anything (It's like I didn't even press the power button) Took the old pc's PSU and installed it in the new rig - powers on just fine, post nice, bios says all is swell. - So new PC/Mobo is not the issue. So problem is definitely on the PSU, right? Ok so I jumper the PSU - maybe it isn't getting the turn on signal. Jumper the PWR_ON and COM pin: And the PSU turns on. Its fans spin up and the voltages are all good. 3.3, 5 and 12 on all the necessary pins. I though OK, weird, maybe it is now.... "reset". Reinstalled in my new rig, tried powering on - NADA. Last attempt - installed in old pc rig. still nada. What is happening - Why can I start the PSU with the age old PSU test (Paperclip test) but it doesn't want to start up any PC? Thoughts anyone? (I sent it back to supplier - as it's almost out of return window.) - awaiting their feedback. PSU: Fractal Ion+ 750w Mobo: B450 Gaming Carbon pro AC. Outlet: 220 V Confusion: MAX

now im not sure if this is the right forum but it sounds fitting for this problem. i have my optical drive connected all snug and tight but it just wont get power anymore. it was working before, but now a day later it doesn't work anymore.

So, I have a Sharp Liquid Crystal TV (Model: LC-52LE820UN) that just died on me, I went to turn it on, and no matter what I do, it will not turn on. I've followed the instructions in the manual, and here, so I'm certain that it isn't user error. (No, lightning did not kill it; additionally, it's always been connected to a surge protector). I have the means to disassemble the TV and get out the soldering iron if I need to, but i don't have any experience fixing TV's. What are some of the issues my TV might have, and how can I go about repairing it? (No, I do not have a warranty.)

Hi, I have a msi mag271c monitor and it’s not turning on, I have tried unplugging and replughing back in the cable but it will not turn on, does anybody know how to fix this? I had both hdmi ports filled as well as the dp port and the usb and headphone jack.

He there, So I'm doing an overhaul on an older computer that I use for video editing. I'm upgrading my FX-6300 CPU to a FX-8350 plus some more ram. Initially I had forgotten to plug in the CPU power cable, and everything lit up, fans, GPU, Liquid-cooled cpu cooler, but as soon as I plug in the CPU cable it's dead, nothing happens. So far I've tried resetting the Bios, removing and trying each different RAM dimm, unplugging the GPU, even swapping out CPU's, but it's still dead. What can I try? I'm at a bit of a loss. Here are my specs. AMD FX8350 32gb ddr3 1333mhz RAM 500 Watt EVGA PSU RX 580 Red Rocket Card (original, not the X) 512gb sata SSD

So, lately weird things started happening with my PC. I was getting errors in BIOS like "memory decrease" and other stuff which I don't really remember. My PC would restart once or twice for no reason but no BSOD. Whenever I tried to turn off the PC it would turn on again, so i was leaving the Power Supply turned off for 3 days so PC wouldn't turn on. Yesterday my PC did not respond to "power" button, so i took a look inside. I've noticed that 2 pins from the 24 pin plug were flooded with something and it SEEMED like there was a short (I'm not sure). So I cleaned the contacts but that did not help. What I noticed and did to troubleshoot this was: I've noticed that LED next to the 24 pin called STANDBY is ON like its supposed to be after connecting power 24 pin. I still checked the Power Supply with a tester. Voltages are OK, I checked it with a working PC as well. Graphic card has 2 LED which are supposed to flash RED OR WHITE but they are off. I tried to turn it on without the GPU and 1 stick of ram with nothing else connected but that did not work. CPU was checked on working PC and it's OK as well. I also tried turning on the PC with a jumper. I wanted to know if power gets to other places on the motherboard, so I was checking the voltage on the CMOS battery when pressing the POWER ON button and voltage was going down whenever I pressed the button. What do I check next? Is it dead? Peripherals: i5-2400 CPU GTX 1060 3GB GPU 4x 2GB DDR3 1333mHz RAM DQ67SW Intel Motherboard and some old 500 WATT PSU

Hey guys, My new 4790k and Asus z97-A/USB 3.1 motherboard, after installing my New H100i GTX and getting everything connected, turned it on, and It posted just fine, Said CPU fan error(temps were at 25c), but was able to override it, Played with some of the UEFI's settings(only looked didnt change settings) and after I set my SSD as my boot priority i thought I'd power it down, Move it back to my workbench and reseat the Cooler into the CPU header. After that second, The PC wont boot at all. Case Power button wont turn it on anymore, Asus Power button doesnt do anything(Green light IS ON). Shorted the PSU to make sure it still works, it does, Tried shorting the motherboard, Nope. Reseated the ram in different configurations, still nothing, Took out the GPU, reseated the 24 pin and 8pin CPU cables, let the PC sit for 20 minutes unplugged, Nothing. I've basically gone through everything that was in the Stickied PC not booting Thread, While it sounds like an RMA situation, The mobo definitely worked for a good 5 minutes... Anyone have any ideas at all? Thanks!

So here is the deal. I took a shot at my very own thrift machine. I went from a P4 to a Q6600 and a gt630. The problem is that the old power supply (pictured) died RIGHT after checking the BIOS to see if the new cpu was working and rebooting. After hearing a hissing sound coming from the PSU I concluded that a capacitor had bulged and vented its electrolyte. I know that sounds like I'm as good as effed but I still went out and got a 550w Antec PSU, which is worlds better than the crappy "KMEX" one originally installed on the system. So I connect everything on its place and surprise surprise, nothing. And yes, I followed ALL the troubleshooting steps possible( paper clip, reconnect, check mains etc..) I even used a voltmeter to check that the rails were supplying the right voltages. I also swapped back to my P4 chip to see if the core2quad was fried...still nothing. I have the system stripped down to a minimum(no hdd, 1 stick of ram, gpu/nogpu) What made me post is that I noticed that when I attempt to short the power switch pins, I can see the gpu fan and the PSU fan "attempting" to spin for half a second; they don't even complete a revolution, just a slight movement and then nothing. Any advice? Specs: Intel Core 2 Quad q6600 2.4ghz GF7050VT-M ECS mobo 1gb "Rendition" DDR2 240pin/2gb Kingston ddr2 533mhz (doesn't work with either) Nvidia gt630 PS I know its crappy hardware, but I'm not creating a thrift machine, I'm reviving it. PSS the cpu pictured is the P4. That's why there's no thermal compound.
