Hey guys, need suggestions on which case fans for my case node 202. Currently my node 202 have the Asus Strix GTX1070 and doesn't have any case fans pulling the air to cool down the gpu. Right now just a small desk fan pushing in fresh air to through the mesh filter. I mean with this current solution, such a fast build up of dust and cleaning the pc with this case definitely post a challenge. I'm currently looking at the noctua fans and want some opinions on which ones should I get. I've contacted the noctua technical support team and they said I should go for the NF-A12x25 or NF A12x15 if there is not enough space. Which one you think I should get? I don't know whether the x25 variant would fit or not, if do then wouldn't the NF-S12A be better? If it doesn't fit, then I'll go with the A12x15 instead.

So given the current situation my GPU arrived but my PSU is severely delayed, I'm just wondering if the included PSU in the node 202 is enough to run a Ryzen 5 1600 and GTX 1070 Ti with no overclocks on either? I've checked on pcpartpicker for the power estimate which should apparently leave me with a 120W overhead, but apparently it's a 80+ bronze PSU and nvidia recommend a 500W PSU. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks

After seeing a few excellent build guides I've decided to share my work in progress here on the LTT forums. Backsoory I started with 1200 CAD, bought a 960m laptop, got into tech (Linus, Austin, bitwit, Jay etc.) I immediately got off that burning ship, willingly taking the hit of $100 loss I took in selling. My original plan was to buy a Pascal laptop but found them out of my budget. I thankfully found a Deepcool Genome + 32GB Ripjaw V (4x8) for $200 CAD on KIJIJI (heads up, lots of kijiji) Bought 1060 6gb on kijiji for $325 CAD On boxing day I purchased my (taxes included) $440 i7 6700K $120 GIGABYTE Z170XP-SLI $70 Corsair CX650M $38 2 pack SF120s $135 crappy monitor $70 Gamdias Mechanical keyboard + mouse combo I built it immediately and was super happy about it

Hi guys, I'm looking for a mini itx motherboard for the new Ryzen CPU lineup. I'm planning a build in the node 202 from fractal design. Here's what I have so far: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/turtlesaurusrex25/saved/J2YgsY

Q#1 Hey can anyone point me in a direction to find out more about AF or SP fans in a Node 202 or in general Mini ITX case, either a guide or site comparison? Thanks for any help!! : ))) Basically I was thinking x2 SP120 fans would be good in the Node 202 right by the GPU as they need to pull air into the case; #1 through the dust filter and #2 across the GPU into compact case. AF120 vs SP120 Perfromance Airflow ------------- 63.47 CFM, Static Pressure 1.1 mm/H20, Speed 1650 RPM, Sound 30dBA Static Pressure -- 62.74 CFM, Static Pressure 3.1 mm/H20, Speed 2350 RPM, Sound 35dBA Edit picked ML120 -thanks Mello ML120 AF/SP---- 12-75 CFM, Static Pressure 0.4-4.2 mm/H20, Speed 400-2400 RPM, Sound 16-37dBA Q#2 So same CFM but better pressure pulling air through a filter and across the GPU into the rest of the case +PWM control, at the cost of +5dBA? Now to choose x2 AF120 or x2 SP120 PWM fans?

First of all, hi everyone and thanks in advance, my name is Marco and I decided to build the second computer of my life and I'm having a question about CPU temperatures. Here are the specs, so that I can explain better later on: Case: Fractal Design Node 202 with Integra 450W PSU; Motherboard: Gigabyte Ga-H270N-WiFi; CPU: Intel i5-7500; CPU Cooler: Cryorig C7; RAM: 1x8GB Crucial Ballistix Elite DDR4; SSD: Crucial MX300 M.2 Sata, 275GB; HDD: Hitachi Travelstar 1TB 2.5 7200RPM; Graphics Card: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 6GB Windforce Fans: Two Fractal Design 120mm PWM fans. Sorry I can't remember the name. I think that's all. So now, I want to describe the "problem" that I have. I'm having higher CPU temps than I was expecting with an aftermarket CPU Cooler. AIDA64, at idle, gives me a reading of around 34°C (about 93° F). Now, I know that this is not that bad and I know that the case is actually really small so temps can be tricky to handle, but, still, given that I have something like 20°C (68° F) in my room I think that it's too high. I checked the CPU Cooler and it's not moving or anything (of course the fan is moving, I mean the actual cooler is sitting still over the CPU) and I think I applied the right quantity of thermal paste (the one provided by the CPU Cooler). Cable management is as good as it can be in such a tiny case. I tried to run AIDA64 stress test for 10 minutes and the max temperature that I got was 57°C (134°F). That, again, is not disastrous, but higher than what I was expecting. GPU temps are actually pretty good, so no problem there. Is there anyone that can explain such readings? Am i being paranoid for no reason? Sorry if I made any mistake but I'm actually Italian, so my English might be not perfect. If this is a silly question I'm sorry. Thanks again, I hope someone can give me an advice.

I've been looking for the perfect m-itx case forever! I need a case small enough to fit a suitcase so I can take it between my family and student home. First I was looking at the Raijintek Metis and was thinking about modding if with 2 additional fans on top so that the GPU could have some air intake. This guy did it and it looks great! http://www.overclock.net/t/1539670/raijintek-metis-owners-club/570#post_26034076 But then I thought: "Oh maybe the Node 202 would be just as good and it's a bit more portable and might not take up as much space if I put it vertically behind the monitor etc..." Also I wouldnt have to mod the Raijintek case. And most reviews say that its good! However, looks like people are getting problems with the CPU and GPU temps in this case. Obviously they would do in the Raijintek as well . But not if it's modified! I was happy when Linus made a video comparing these two cases. But I can't really understand the temp specifications that they have put up. And what about the noise levels? Can someone here please help me with this? I'm going for a i5 6700k R9 380x Sapphire Nitro Corsair SF450 PSU In the Raijintek case I was thinking about having a be quiet! Pure Rock cpu cooler and 3 be quiet! ShadowWings 120mm PWM (2 above gpu and 1 as outtake at the back) In the Node I was thinking about a Noctua NH-L9i Low profile LGA115x. I dont what extra fans would fit above the GPU intake. Any advice?

Hey all, very new user here. Title really says it all, after scouring YouTube I've found some neat builds with watercooling the processor in a node 202 with AIO coolers paired with cards like an r9 nano to make room for the rad and fan in the space freed up with the smaller card. I'm planning to build with a budget between $1500-$1700 USD. Still unsure of the motherboard and there for memory. The catch with this build lies in the fact that I travel between my home and office very frequently and have an aversion to laptops. By trade I am a graphic designer and love gaming so I'm aiming for an i5 with at least a 1070 or maybe a 1080 budget allowing. The overall goal is to think of different ways to water cool at least the processor, if not both the card and cpu. Does anyone know of a way this could work? I plan on using a single ssd for storage relying on external drive or a NAS. Thoughts? Are there any other cases that would be better suited to this build? Id like to stay with the "slim itx" style htpc cases instead of going for the easier "shoe box" style to fit better in a large chrome messenger bag. I'll post the pc part picker list later tonight.

Hey there! I just had a sudden inspiration! But first let me tell you the instancees: I My sister needs a new PC and I thought of a SFF build because she isnt a nerd like me. And after some research I really started liking the Node 202. And now I am not sure if I could put a passiv cooled GPU like the gtx 1050 ti or rx 470 with two case fans in there. To this related another question appeared: Is it possible to fit the heatsink of my now watercooled gtx 980 ti onto the gtx 1050 ti so i dont need to buy a 3rd party one from e.g. arctic or so? I am looking forward to hearing your opinions or experience on this. PS: I found out that the Arctic Accelero Xtreme III fits onto the msi gtx 1050 ti because this card also features 58mm spaced holes:http://www.tomshardware.de/pascal-gtx-1050-ti-passivkuhlung-umbau-messung,testberichte-242263.html

Hey, so I'm planning a HTPC setup for my friend who is eager to come from the console side. Here are is what I was planning for him as well as budget and needed info: Budget & Location Location: Finland Budget: <1200€ (no peripherals) Build date: early 2017 Use: Purpose: Couch gaming, racing games (Forza etc), Story driven games (Deus Ex: humankind divided). Essentially he wants a console experience with PC graphics. Resolution/monitor: Mostly will be played with a 1080p60 TV. A monitor might be a later purchase (1080p60 also) Graphics: As high as can be for as long as can be. But he does not care if everything is maxed. Extra features: The need for WIFI for the Mobo is still in debate so that is also a welcomed addition to this build. No overclocking. I suggested him to get 250gb SSD and 1tb HDD, but instead he wanted 500gb SSD. The case will be Fractal design node 202 (instead of listed 605, didn't find 202 in partpicker) PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($204.99 @ Newegg) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-L9i 33.8 CFM CPU Cooler ($38.94 @ Newegg) Motherboard: MSI B150M MORTAR Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($79.99 @ Newegg) Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($41.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($157.30 @ Newegg) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB SC GAMING Video Card Case: Fractal Design Node 605 HTPC Case ($129.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Silverstone 500W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular SFX Power Supply ($96.99 @ Newegg) Total: $750.19 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-10-12 02:28 EDT-0400 Any feedback and improvement suggestions are welcome.

I just finished building my first PC, part list here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LB3kM8 When I first tried to boot it up it the fans came on and the LEDs lit up (yay!) but it would not display anything on my monitor (darn!). Upon browsing some forums I took the advice I found and unplugged my gpu, after which the system booted and displayed fine (YAY!). However, the problem still remains that when I try to boot the system with my graphics card plugged in nothing displays. I have tried installing the latest drivers from NVIDIA and searching for it in the device manager (even under hidden devices), but neither of these have helped. I am truly at a loss here, I would really appreciate it if someone would give me some advice. Thanks! P.S. when I tried to install the NVIDIA drivers the message appeared: "No compatible hardware detected". I tried searching this online but all of the solutions said the same thing "Reinstall the drivers and make sure its not disabled in the device manager." The problem here is that it is not anywhere in the device manager, not under Display Adapters or Other Devices as "Unknown Device", and reinstalling the drivers yielded the same result. Like I said, I am truly at a loss as it is a brand new graphics card.

Hello, this will be my first attempt at building a PC and I therefore appreciate all the tips I can get. I have picked out (but not bought) the components to install in the computer, do you think these are compatible/suitable? Case: Fractal Design Node 202 (without PSU) PSU: Corsair SF600, 600W PSU SFX Form Factor Motherboard: MSI H110I Pro, Socket-1151 CPU: Intel Core i7-7700 Kaby Lake Processor CPU Heatsink: Noctua NH-L9i Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz 16GB GPU: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Mini Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB mSATA SSD Additional Fans: 2x Corsair ML120 PRO, 120mm fan OS: Windows 10 Note: this computer has a very specific purpose, which is to be able to play Total War Warhammer II on ultra-settings and also to be living room friendly. Please let me know if you can think of any improvements, all critics are welcome. Thanks in advance.

So I played CS 1.6 and Halo: Combat Evolved 10 years ago. Then a few months ago I decided to build my first PC and it was going to be a fully hardline watercooled Node 202. To my knowledge this had been done once before by @SonoDanshi here. He used an R9 Nano, which seems sensible. However, I was determined to use a full length GPU and ended up with an EVGA GTX 970 SC. It's currently paired with a X4 860K (don't ask). The whole ridiculous build log is documented here, I've linked to where it gets interesting i.e. a couple days ago. Anyway, fast forward to Sunday and I finally get it up and running. I play Crysis and the machine gets damn hot, but all seems well. Then today I play some Burnout: Paradise, Portal and Metro: 2033 (which looks awesome) and I notice a leak and that a fitting is very loose. Turns out EVERY fitting is loose and I have a major insane catastrophe leak. Machine is fine although in 1000 pieces again. I've had to solve a lot of problems for this build, but I never expected this one. Looks like I need to accelerate some improvements I was planning to reduce temps i.e. increase airflow with a Dremel to GPU side panel / minimizing 90 fittings to keep flow rate up and maybe adding some 80mm fans. Let the madness continue...

Hello everyone, I have just started parting out a new itx build and two of my major planned components are a gtx 1060 6gb and a node 202 case. I've also settled on the gigabyte aorus xtreme 1060 6gb card. Here is the newegg link to the model: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=14-125-970 The depth of the card is 59mm according to gigabyte's website, and from what I read, with 10mm fans, there is 50mm clearance for the card in the node 202, which makes me think that there is 60mm total clearance. What I wanted to know is if there is a catch somewhere that would prevent me from using the entire 60mm clearance for the card. The card uses 287/310mm of the available length, so the front i/o shouldn't be an issue, but as I have not seen the case or card in person, I don't know for sure. Here is the parts list I put together: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yMGhQV Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

This is what I am going for: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/MvdztJ (Partpicker says the CPU cooler will not fit, in fact it does, I double checked that) Used for: Feeding a 4K TV with "backup copies" of movies and some light gaming every now and then (nothing dramatic) Must have criteria: - SILENT <-- !!! - low Profile RAM because of low clearance to CPU cooler - a PSU that doesn't run it's fan all the time - modular PSU to reduce cable clutter (tight in there anyway) So: Any suggestions / hint / critic is welcome - Thanks

After taking some measurements of the Node 202, I'm confident it can fit with a 25mm thick single-rad with a 12mm fan. A dual-rad should also fit under the GPU, but not with a second fan, so will a dual-rad with a single fan give a noticeable improvement over a single rad with fan?

Yo peeps, i have a quick question! Trying to build myself a small rig for gaming, and the Fractal Design Node 202 with the 450w psu seems like a great deal, it'd save me some money which is great. Now the thing i'm asking about; is the PSU in the Node 202 any good? I'd like to pair it with an i3 8100 and an RX 570 or a 1050ti, something along those lines! I live in Norway so some prices are a bit different. I might also buy a mining card used for 1 year, should still have some warranty, right? If any norwegians stumble across this, this is my list i've set up without the Node 202: https://classic.prisjakt.no/list.php?l=588642&view=l To save some money, maybe one of these two too (also in norwegian) : https://www.finn.no/bap/forsale/ad.html?finnkode=147458613 or one of these https://www.finn.no/bap/forsale/ad.html?finnkode=150338469 Tell me what you think!

I have a Node 202 Build in which i control 2 fans in the GPU bay based of tempeture of the GPU using a NZXT Grid V2 with CAM software and then also control my CPU fan as well as a few more smaller 40mm fans in the cpu champer. I am going to be upgrading my build to ryzen and wanted to know if the software for either of the two boards that are my current options will be able to do this so that i could remove the Grid V2 from the case (every cm counts in a Node 202 build!) The ASRock Software i beleive is called Fatal1ty F- Stream and the Gigabyte software is Smart Fan 5. Im having a hard time finding info online for this. My build this question is for

I currently have the following system in a node 202 Here , im upgrading it to ryzen and im tight on cash with the added bills i have since my mom passed in February, i have a choice between the two boards listed in the poll as they are what are at my local microcenter and im going to use the bundle deal with a 1600, i sold about 300$ worth of parts to do this upgrade without interfering with my bills. One of my issues is i control 2 fans in the GPU bay based of tempeture of the GPU using a NZXT Grid V2 with CAM software and then also control my CPU fan as well as a few more smaller 40mm fans in the cpu champer. I wanted to know if the software for either of the two boards that are my current options will be able to do this so that i could remove the Grid V2 from the case (every cm counts in a Node 202 build!) The ASRock Software i believe is called Fatal1ty F- Stream and the Gigabyte software is Smart Fan 5. Im not looking for speculation on whether the software looks like it can but rather if anyone has used it or has seen it used for controlling fan RPM based on GPU temp, I know Speed fan can do this but i want to know if either of the softwares for the motherboards do it, otherwise i will just have to stick to using CAM Other then that please share any opinion or experience you have with either board the gigabyte one costs 10$ more then the ASRock so they are about there in price but if for my use case of this being my bedside computer and travel gaming computer (think lans, friends house, vacation) So it will run a range of games of all types online and offline old and new, The wifi being good on the board is also important as i currently have a AC1900 wifi adapter and have 500Gbs on 5GHz so i need it to be able to handle that so i can sell off the adapter. I also might do some overclocking on this.

Hey all, I'm considering a move from the ATX PC that I've got to a small form factor "console killer" PC. I've got a 160mm RMx 750W that I'd like to keep as I trade out gear, which rules out the FD Node 202. One option that is available is the Phantex Enthoo Evolv Shift X, which claims to be compatible with my PSU. Anyone have any experience with this case? Any airflow issues? Otherwise I suppose I could sell my RMx and purchase the Node 202 with the included PSU. (Not great, but not a firecracker lol.) @TVwazhere

I am 90% done planning and ordering parts for my ITX custom watercooling build. Mostly includes 1700X, GTX 980ti hydrocopper, and Fractal Design Node 202. Others suggested I went with 10 series card for less heat, but it was cheaper to get this 980ti card with block included then 1070 and buy a full cover block. Even buying a 980ti with EK-Thermosphere block would have been cheaper. I believe the heat will be higher than a 10 series but still manageable. Now I have come to the all crucial pump and CPU waterblock dilemma. My initial plan was to disassemble a Fractal Design Celsius cooler, but it seems only the radiator fittings are removable. I also have seen several people take advantage of Cooler Master's ML series barb fittings on the block. There is also the Swiftech Apogee Drive II. I was curious to what everyone else thinks. All input is accepted but please focus on the CPU/waterblock. Thanks! EDIT: I have also seen people use Silverstone AIO block/pump EDIT 2: be quiet Silent Loop block looks extremely promising.

Planning out a build in a Node 202, but I'm wary of the temperature issues, especially since I will be using a Gtx 1080ti in my new build. I'm going to be gaming on an ultrawide 1440p 144hz monitor so I'm not worried about my CPU temps, but I would like to find a way to overclock my 1080ti. My first idea would be to take off the stock cooler use a Nzxt g12 and a Thermaltake tundra slim 120mm rad and fan to cool the card. However, I'm not sure if this will fit. Looking for input from the community and any ideas I may have missed. Thank you in advance guys!

I have a node 202 and was worried about airflow for a 3080. I saw these pictures in another forum https://imgur.com/a/9eC7VJM (pictures linked since image upload broke) and was thinking if you made this mod to the node 202 you would have better airflow than the mid tower case the 3080 is designed for. Any tips on drilling holes through? The link to the post the other guy did is archived https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/8o1e7q/node_202_mods/ Apparently theres a small layer of metal under the plastic that could separate or rust, so im not sure what the best way to go about this is. Im currently thinking just using a 2x4 to brace the bottom as I drill through?
