  1. Hello, I have recently acquired two sticks of 32GB ddr4 RAM, which I wanted to use for my home server. Upon installation of both sticks, the PC wouldn't boot anymore. The fans start spinning and the EZ Debug VRAM LED turns on and stays on and nothing happens from there on. First I tried taking one stick out, which still resulted in no boot. Then I tried switching back my old memory, which led to the PC booting successfully. After that, I put one of the old sticks in and one of the new ones, which booted into the system again (with the correct amount of RAM reported in the BIOS). I switched the new sticks, to make sure that the other one was functional, and it booted again. When I tried both of the new sticks again still no boot. So then I tried, both of the new sticks and one of the old ones and it successfully loaded into the BIOS reporting the maximum supported RAM for the system (64GB). I tried clearing the CMOS, which didn't change anything. While the system booted with the last configuration (aka 2 new, 1 old), clearly this is not normal behaviour, plus needing the old stick just to boot is not ideal. OS: XCP-NG (Xen Server) Z170A PC MATE (MS-7971) Intel i7-6700K 4.00 GHz Old RAM: G.Skill RipJaws V DDR4 3200 MHz CL16 DIMM 2x8 GB (16 GB) New RAM: Crucial DDR4 3200 MHz CL22 UDIMM 2x32 GB (64 GB) Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 SSD BeQuiet L8-400w BIOS Version: E7971IMS.AG0
  2. After installing a new ryzen 7 5800x chip to my Asus ROG Strix B450-f motherboard, all seems to work well until I start booting. Once the PC turns on everything receives power but there is no post and no video output to the monitors, the motherboard lights indicate a DRAM error but there is none that I can find, all RAM used is known to be working and the cpu has no issues at all. how can I fix this?
  3. Hi Folks, I am having issues with my computer no longer appearing to no longer attempt powering on at all, from booting to not posting, varying degrees of lights coming on, to now nothing. My setup is ... Gigabyte B550I Aorus Pro Ryzen 5 3600 Zotac 3060ti 2 sticks of G. Skills DDR3 3600 RAM EVGA 750G2 Supernova modular psu NZXT h210 mini itx case, and their fans and kraken aio cooler. This morning I took out my R5 3600, and put in a brand new R7 5800X3D. I had some disposable money, and my case has stopped me from making meaningful GPU upgrades. So I got a new CPU. After installing, I loaded up a couple of different games, and had no problem. Noticable improvements in BG3 and Starfield. I left Starfield running, and went to the restroom. Came back, and everything was off, except the mobo LEDs. I tried starting it back up with the case power switch, and got nothing. So flipped the psu switch, off and on and tried again. Pressed the case power switch, and only got lights to the RAM sticks, no post, no fans turning on, nothing else. So I turned off the computer, took out a RAM stick, and tried again, and everything turned on, but never posted, just sat there until I gave up and turned it back off from the PSU. Several attempts of the same and it would no longer even power on the fans, or AIO, or PSU. So I unplugged the PSU, and replaced with 5800X3D with the old 3600. Still no power anywhere. I took things apart, thinking it could have fried the PSU, 750W should be plenty but it is old. I tried the paper clip trick, and the fan started no problem. I plugged everything back into the PSU and mobo, and tried to jump the mobo power switch pins, and got nothing. This is leading me to think the issue is my mobo. I get no power delivery from the motherboard, but the PSU seems to work fine without it. Removing RAM, and GPU has not changed behavior since the initial couple attempts to boot. I don't know how it would have died from running a pretty demanding game to this, but can't think of much else. Does anyone have any thoughts or troubleshooting I could do? Thanks!
  4. Hi People, So recently I got a Problem with my CPU, it had huge Clock-speed drops in games. Naturally I wanted to solve this and tried many things. Nothing helped, someone recommended me to update my BIOS, that I didn't try. So I Updated my BIOS, just like MSI said to do on their Homepage and YT-Videos. I started the Update, when the download was at 50-70% I was gone for 60 sec. After I came back my screen was black, I wanted for 20 min. and it still was black. I am preatty sure that the power didn't go out in those 60 sec and the USBdrive didn't somehow fell out of the USB port. The fans still spinning, no error messages on the mainboard, nothing. So I powered my PC down and tried to turn it on, still blackscreen (no boot). So I thought: " Ok, the BIOS update got fucked up somehow. So I just do a BIOS hard reset" And I did, but still nothing. I don't know if the hard reset worked or not, but my PC doesn't boot. If I turn on my PC now, none of the Error Led's on my Motherboard light up, except the CPU, but only for 10 sec. So what do you guys think? Did I fucked up my Mainboard, my CPU, both, or can I fix it somehow? My Specs: Ryzen 5 3600X Corsair Vengeance 32 GB of 2400Mhz Palit RTX 3060 MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX (doesn't have USB-Flashback)
  5. Hello, So recently I upgraded from a Ryzen 1600 + B350 to a Ryzen 5600x + X570. I was excited and in a rush, didn’t bother to back up my boot drive. Here I am 9 hours later. So I had the NVME in the PC, it booted to a BSOD with error message “Critical Service Error.” Thought it was a driver issue so I booted to safemode and it worked! While accessing my desktop, I thought the issue was drivers so I downloaded Asus Armoury and upgraded them. After a restart and then a shutdown, I was greeted with the second BSOD, “Kernel Data Inpage Error”. Thought I’ll try safemode again, didn’t work. I grabbed my USB with Windows Installation to reinstall windows, but I can’t do that without deleting my data. I don’t want to do that. My recovery options are limited and I tried using CMD, but it won’t let me use commands. My windows is on a drive called X: and C: is completely empty. It also says there are no windows installations. I seriously appreciate your guys’ help in advance. Thank you all for your time and dedication to this forum. Pictures are below.
  6. So I just recently built my first pc, it booted perfectly fine and I installed windows 10 64bit. Today I got around to installing some games and updating drivers and such. I was playing The Forest (great game so far) when my pc just shut off. Tried to boot, reset cmos, reseat ram, and currently it will get a short burst of power .. rgb prism cooler lights up and my pc won’t boot. It worked fine two hours ago. I believe it would be something along the lines of cpu overheating or motherboard short/driver issue but I am new to the pc world and have always played console. Here is the full build. Phanteks p400a Coolermaster LL120 exhaust fan (rgb cord cut) Stock 3 front case fans Ryzen 7 3700x cpu with stock wraith prism cooler ASRock B550 phantom gaming 4 mobo Aorus GeForce RTX 3060ti MASTER gpu CORSAIR vengeance LPX 16gb 3200mhz ram XPG Gammix s11 pro 1tb m.2 ssd Western digital blue 1tb Hdd Silver stone ET-700mg 700watt psu
  7. My pc works and boots just fine with 2133mhz but when i set it to 3200mhz which is xmp speed it doesnt and it used to run at 3200mgz before i overclocked my cpu bad and had to reset bios, pls help
  8. Hi, Recently, I bought Need for Speed 2 Heat, and when launching the game it caused my computer to crash showing a blank screen with a single beige colour. After trying to boot my PC again it wouldn't boot through the GPU. It's quite an old GPU to be specific a Sapphire AMD HD 7970 that I bought about 4 ish years ago from CEX. When you try booting the PC through the GPU the lights all still come on, but the PC almost revs. So the lights go brighter then dimmer then brighter again then dimmer and then just stay stable and no boot shows on screen. Something similar happens when booting through the CPU (AMD Ryzen 5 3400g) however it does boot to Windows. I'm not sure if my GPU is just dead which wouldn't be surprising considering its about 11 years old at this point. However, I find it weird that the RGB lights still come on for the graphics card. I updated the BIOS to the latest version and ensured that the graphics where running through the PCIE slot but it changed nothing. PS: The GPU is plugged into the psu Any help would be appreciated and if you need anymore information please just ask.
  9. So I built this pc around mid December of 2021. It's been serving me well until my power supply died on me and I had to get a new one. The power supply was old and looked sketchy, so I was kind of expecting it. Ever since I built it, even before my PSU died, I've had this issue every month or so. I would power on my pc and watch the lights on my motherboard to make sure everything boots up correctly. It would never successfully get to the boot light. The first time I boot it up, the lights would loop around four times, only reaching the VGA light until it restarts again. After that, the light will stay on and would never actually boot up. I made sure to see if it was just being slow and it wasn't. I waited over 24 hours for it to boot at that state before and it never did. Of course I did my own troubleshooting and found a temporary fix for it. I would take out the CMOS battery for around 5-10 minutes, letting all the power from my pc come out before doing so, and then put it back in and everything would be normal. It would do the boot loop thing again but instead of staying at the VGA light, it would finally boot up. It would be fine until a few weeks later when the issue would arise again. I ended up getting a new battery to replace my old one, thinking that it was the issue, but it didn't stop anything. I always thought it was an issue with my power supply, but now that I've replaced it with a newer one with a higher voltage, my ideas have plateaued. I'm starting to think it's an issue with my motherboard, but I don't have any reasoning behind that. I've attached some videos. The first one was before I reset the CMOS and the second one was after. The first video is in 5x speed and the second is in 7.5x speed because of the file size limit. 10. Hello, I just upgraded my old i5-7600 to new i5-12400f and asus b660 plus. I have connected everything right(or atleast I believe) and the computer wont post. On the MB a BOOT and VGA led are on which indicates theres something wrong with them but I cant figure out what. I have reconnected both of them and it did not on the previous system both worked normally. Please somebody help me.
  11. Recently my GPU started artifacting soo I was on a hunt for a new one. To be clear the PC could still boot and everything worked perfectly aside from the graphics. I had a rx470 4gb and a few days ago I bought a GTX 1660 super (I'm 14 soo that's the best I can get) After I got the new GPU I installed it and turned on the PC hoping that I would play some games. I got the bios screen but after that just a white underscore flashing at the top of the screen and then just black. So I restarted the PC but still the same thing was happening. I checked if I installed the GPU correctly in to the PCIe slot. I even unplugged the SATA connectors into different slots that weren't in the way of the GPU. Later I put the old GPU in just to see if it was because of the bad GPU or something but still the same white underscore flashing a couple of times and then just black. I reset the BIOS I checked the boot settings. Then I just gave up and put media installation tool on a USB and tried to install fresh windows 10. When I booted form the UEFI one I got a windows logo and the USB was flashing. I thought I had it, that I fixed the problem. But no, the logo was in a broken resolution it was wide, and I had no white dots spinning. I waited for 2 hours just to see if it was cuz my pc is slow. But still nothing. I couldn't go into safe boot, f8 didn't do anything just heard some clicking form the motherboard speaker, and restarting the pc didn't do anything to get to automatic repair. I tried different configs of the RAM even tho the bios was showing all 16gb of it. I tried the diagnostic tool for CPU, RAM and storage and it didn't show any problems. I reset the CMOS battery but still no luck. I plugged in the USB drive into different ports even into the one on the motherboard. I then tried to use the internal graphics but when it booted the bios looked ok but the windows logo was in thin vertical strips across the top of the screen. here are my specs CPU: i5-4590 GPU: Palit 1660 super RAM: 16gb ddr3 Kingston (don't know the speed) MOBO: Fujitsu D3231-S1x PSU: Hexa+ pro 600w SSD: Sandisk x300 HDD: some generic 500gb one I bought the pc from some sketchy guy. He works in a company as IT and just takes old MOBOs and CPUs and buys some cheap GPU and sells it on FB. Please help me I have been without a gaming pc for more then a month I'm starting to go crazy. (btw sorry for any grammatical errors English is not my native language)
  12. This is gonna be a complicated one. SPECS: Intel Core i5-13600K Asus GeForce RTX 3080 TUF Gaming - OC Edition (LHR) NZXT Kraken X53 RGB Asus ROG Strix 850W Gigabyte Z790 GAMING X AX Samsung 1TB 980 Western Digital 1TB WD_BLACK SN850X On the first start up the PC started nicely with all peripherials attached and with the monitor connected via display port. BIOS was snappy and worked smoothly with no problems. All components showed up in BIOS and I enabled XMP and proceeded to save the changes and then save & exit. Computer displayed the connected RAM, CPU and the M.2's correctly. This is when the problems appeared. Upon starting up the PC it would not notice the monitor via display port. I did try to power on the PC multiple times and the problem would persist. After a while I switched to an HDMI and it would occasionally run for a while. Computer would occasionally turn off after being on for a little while. I ended up getting it to BIOS, but BIOS started working extremely slowly. Without changing anything I got the PC to get into the first Windows installation. Installation started and after a while the PC shut down. I thought this was normal and waited for a while, but the PC did not start up again. After this the shutting down after booting would continue. On startup the VGA (Graphics card) status LED would light up before shutdown. I re-adjusted the graphics card a little and set the PC on it's back panel. The PC ran for a little while, I ended up being able to set back the default BIOS settings, after a moment it did shut down again. I went trough the peripherials too, and none of them would seem to have an effect on the PC shutting down. I double checked all the connections and and that the RAM was seated well. Because the VGA light had flashed on before I removed the GPU and go the PC to succesfully boot. Note that the BIOS was still slow. The PC did not crash anymore and I was able to boot the PC with the Windows install media in the USB port. I got Windows fully installed and I was able to work around in Windows with seemingly no problems. After the completed Windows install I restarted the PC via the Windows menu. The PC did not restart and started to shut down after each attempt to power on. The problem would persist with no devices connected. The PC would still occasionally flash the GPU light with no GPU connected. On the attempts when I did get to BIOS it did note that something was connected to the PCI-E port, but did not display the product name. I have done these steps of trouble shooting: - Checked for faulty peripherials - Launched with only the monitor - Checked both ends of all cables - Checked the RAM was seated correctly - Checked the GPU was seated correctly - Removed the GPU all together Im completely stumped at this point, I did about 4 hours of trial and error and I have not found a solution.
  13. Hello, I have built new rig and getting randomly blue screen mentioning memory controller. This started after enabling XMP profiles on z690. Blue screen are very random atm. I m using 4x 16GB ddr5 Corsair Ram CMK32GX5M2B5600C36 on mobo Asus Z690 plus wifi. I m unable to boot this at 5600Mhz, I am running my system atm on 5200Mhz. On Asus website, I ve found compatible ram list, It does say board is compatible with 2x16 @ 5600Mhz but does it also work with 4x16 @ 5600Mhz or they have not tested this yet? Let me know if there is any solution to this, i have upgraded mobo bios to latest as well. I have not tried booting with 2x16gb @5600 yet. 14. So, this is gonna be lengthy post. Be it because of lack of googling skills or just reoccurring bad luck with this particular problem I was unable to find a solution online. Let me share my problem that has bugged me for years now on this build from 2016: MB: Asus X99 -a CPU: 6800k RAM: 16Gb DDR4 Kingstone Savage 4X4Gb GPU: Asus Strix 1080Ti OS boot device: Kingstone HyperX Predator 240Gb on a PCI-e board SATA: 5 drives total 2x2driver running on Intel Raid1 First encounter: At some point in time around 6 month's after I had this PC I had to move my OS device from it's PCI-e x4 board that was located on the bottom PCI-e x16 socket to the m.2 socket of the motherboard so I could fit another identical GPU ( Asus strix 1080ti ). Everything worked just fine no issues whatsoever. Until, due to overheating of the SSD drive, I had to move the GPU to another rig and go back to the original setup where the SSD would sit in it's dedicated PCI-e card on the bottom x16 socket. When I tried to boot I got a " no operating system detected" promt. After failing to resolve the issue I had endure the painstakingly tedious task of reinstalling the OS and a plethora of programs I use for work and whipping the drive in the process. Second encounter: A year or so later pretty much the same thing happened almost in the same order cannot recall why it was swapped but It had to do something with the GPU's. Again so many hours of reinstaling the OS and programs and plugins and scripts and importing settings etc. Third encounter: Now, after stupidity not adhering to a promise I made to my self that I will not fiddle with the drive until it died I wanted to expend the storage for my libraries that have bulky files that I work on so i tough an 240Gb Kingstone a2000 nvme drive would be quite nice to have for storing current project files before storing on the aforementioned RAID HDD's. I had one nvme drive laying around from a never made build so I put in ( in the MB m.2 socket ) figured it be straight forward. I turn on the pc and voila, there was an OS on the drive ( unused just installed ). Figured boot priority was scrambled so I head to the boot menu select my never so trusty Predator and there comes the " no operating system detected"..... A2000 runs the OS it had just fine Predator reads in BIOS but does not show in the partition manager in the OS the A2000 holds Thanks for reading this lengthy post and I hope there is a fundamental lack in my knowledge and that the issue is far simpler to solve cause this always happens when I have some deadlines breathing down my neck. Ohhh, almost forgot CMS was on by default I figure that might have some relevance. Thanks in advance !!!! P.S. the overheating of the SSD when installed on the MB m.2 slot is caused by 2 main factors. 1. The gpu is blowing hot air or when unused blocking the air to run over the ssd 2. On this particular MB the TPU chip,or what asus calls it, that is their "power management engine" runs extremely when under load and it sits just under the ssd Just a rant And sorry for any grammar issues you may stumble upon English is not my native language so if my post has some inconsistencies please bear that in mind.
  15. Hi there in desperate need of some help! Computer specs: (custom built system) [Ryzen 7 3700x, Aorus x570 i Pro wifi, Kraken M22 AIO, 32gb Corsair Dominator Platinum, GTX 1080, Corsair SF600 Platinum PSU; all in Phanteks Evolve Shift case] I was on my computer yesterday trying to connect to the (terrible) Warzone servers and it just shut down unexpectedly and will now not post at all. I thought at first that maybe the CPU overheated as it was a rather hot day in the UK yesterday (probably our only of the year) and my case was close to a window. I have left the computer for 12 hours now and it still won't post at all. The light ring comes on, on my Kraken AIO, and the RAM also lights up, but that is it. No fans spin at all. The motherboard also clicks after i press the power button (In the video the first click is me pressing the case power button, which then lights up the RAM, it then clicks. The clicks after that are me then pressing the power button again). I have tried shorting the case power button to see if the fault was there and it did the same click. I have also removed the PSU and done the paperclip test, which made the fan spin. Lastly I tried to boot with the graphics card removed, also to no effect. Any advise would be much appreciated! 16. Ive seen nearly the same problems on all sorts of fourms but never the exact same and a "solution" that didnt work. 2 weeks ago i upgraded my prebuilt. I bought a new gpu, power supply and case. It was fine for a couple days but then wouldn't boot. It would power on, LEDs and fans all work but the USB ports weren't powered. I did some searching, couldn't fix it but then one day it decided to turn on! And then it didn't again. It then decided to be bootable completely randomly. One night I'd turn it off and it'd be a gamble if it'd turn lon the next morning. I thought the problem was the Mb. After that i bought a new Mb, CPU and RAM. worked fine again for a couple days. Now has the same problem. This time around however my Mb has EZ Debug LEDs on the board. 1 lights up and that's the CPU. But everything is completely new from the ground up except the storage. So how the hell is the CPU causing this problem? I've checked wires, repluged everything, tried to boot with 1 stick of RAM and no USB connections, tried different power outlets, And YES I've turned it off and on. Specs: Gigabyte Rx 5700 Ryzen 5 3600 Corsair vengence LPX 2x8gb ddr4 3600Mhz Msi MPG x570 gaming edge Wi-Fi Motherboard Corsair vengeance 750 watt PSU Cooler master mb530 Case I'm desperate here. Spent so much money just to get it too work :(
  17. backstory my pc was running fine, then i randomly tried to change some config in bios, so i opened bios settings and i changed the following settings, changed the boot order to hdd first instead of cd-rom changed the RAM config to manual and instead of running at 667mhz changed it to 800mhz changed the fans speed to full instead of auto after doing this i saved and rebooted now, the pc wont boot or post no beeps the light on MOtherboard and PSU lits up but when i power up the pc(press on button) all the fans starts to run and then just dies and then again start to run and again die, and this will go on on repeat. 18. Hey Guys, I got a second hand computer from my poppy 5 days ago and ive run into a few issues. As soon as I got the computer it worked fine, but when I moved all the components to my new case (swapped out the gpu, and i took out the ram and put it back in again (dunno why)) it started to act up, twice the computer worked fine and I wasnt interrupted but now the computer wont turn on, it either would boot to the login screen or just not boot at all. How can I fix this? I have tried the following; -Changed the powersupply -Reapplied thermal paste -Unplugged then replugged the psu cables Current Specs- (I've included literally included every spec trying to be as vivid as possible) OS- 64 bit Windows 10 home (not installed) CPU- i7-6700 Mobo- MSI B150M Bazooka GPU- 1070 founders edition PSU- thermaltake litepower 750 watt RAM- 4xGeIL 4GB PC4-17000 HDD- 2x 1TB seagate baracuda (both of them are wiped, i believe one of them had windows on it - can't confirm) CPU Cooler- stock intel cooler Case fans- stock thermaltake fans Case- Thermaltake view 27 Thank You if you can help, if you need anymore information please let me know and I will reply ASAP
  19. I guess I should start off by saying I am just a tad frustrated right now. I recently built my first PC about 1 week ago and everything worked fine. Then 2 days later I decided to reroute the HD_Audio cable through a different cutout so I turned off the PSU, and rerouted the cable only to hit the power button and nothing happened. I conversed with many forums and deduced it might be the motherboard. So I used my warranty and got a replacement. Reassembled the PC and tried it again only for the EXACT SAME THING TO HAPPEN. At this point the only thing I can think of is it might be a faulty PSU cord to one of the components but I don't have a spare PSU to test it. It just makes it frustrating that only a couple days ago it was working fine and now it suddenly doesn't want to work. If any help can be provided I would be very grateful. Bonus Info: When I turn on the PSU, a small strip of light on my MOBO (B450 Aorus M) flashes, but the manual doesn't even mention what it means or that the light even exists. I have checked the CPU and none of the pins are bent. When I hit the power button, absolutely nothing happens. No fans, no beeps, nothing. I have the speaker that came with the case but it doesn't make any sounds at all. I have reseated almost everything including the GPU, Front Panel Connectors, CPU Power, 24-pin power, and the RAM. I have gone through the no power up post that is pinned, but I only meet 2 of the 3 criteria of no beeps, leds, or fans because of the previously mentioned led that flashes when I turn on the PSU.
  20. So I have this trash Pc I like to call it, it’s a AMD a8 7650k, Asus a68hm-k, 4gb ram, and a r9 280x. The other day I used it to get my main Ryzen build to work I just put my main hard drives on this computer (was stuck in auto repair loop) and the pc turned on worked perfectly I got my Ryzen build back up and running. I’m trying to sell this pc however and when I tried to turn it on today nothing. My monitor turns on when a fly sends signal, there’s no signal from motherboard dvi, but the r9 makes my monitor light up but displays nothing. Any help would be appreciated
  21. Hey guys, I just build a PC with: Mobo: Asus B350m-k Ram: Gskill Ripjaws 2x8gb 3200mhz Storage: 1TB WD Blue GPU: Zotac gtx 1050ti Case: Fractal Define Mini C PSU: Corsair RM 550x Everything is conencted properly, including front IO etc. but for some reason I don't get any output on my display (DVI connection). The Motherboard won't even make a "beep" sound. Instead, it just having a orange glowing LED strip and nothing else. When turned on, all the fans (gpu and cpu) are spinning, but I am getting no display output/ post at all. Is the board dead??
  22. So every time I go to boot my computer it freezes when starting windows. I either get to see two dots start to rotate and freeze or I get a message saying "preparing automatic repair" I don't know what to do next.
  23. So we've got a couple of HP Z440 workstations at the office. One of them was rendering an image using its 1080TI when suddenly things went wonky. Turns out the PCIE nvme drive was nearly full and with 'only' 16GBs of storage it really needed a place to keep the information (22GBs of it) before it could be handed over to our 1080TI. So, naturally we upgraded the RAM. To make sure we could keep going the same day I sacrificed another machine, took it's 2x8GB memory sticks and crammed it in the first Z440. Things went smooth. A few days later the new RAM got delivered in the mail: 2 sticks of Kingston ValueRAM 8 GB ECC DDR4-2400 (KVR24E17S8/8, ValueRAM) When I inserted it our Z440 it gave me 5 beeps. The product information gave me following info: 'memory error'... (well, thanks for that...) The same problem happened when I placed it in our other Z440. Now I checked the original memory: 2133MHz instead of the 2400MHz of the new ones. Both however are supported speeds, the manual just states that it'll run at the lowest speed of both. Even more, the same memory is listed on some other sites online as being compatible with the Z440. To the best of my knowledge even the timing on both sets of RAM are the same. The inserted position is also as described in the manual. Naturally I thought it might be a bios issue, so I upgraded it to the latest version: No success... Thinking that maybe 1 of the sticks was broken, I decided to place only 1 of them and swap it afterwards: No success... As a last resort I called the HP helpdesk (thank god for 'professional grade' material..). The guy claimed it was probably another hardware failure and adviced me to run the Bios built in 5 hour test. I said to him that I couldn't get to there with the memory installed as it didn't even sents data to the screen. He adviced me to run the test with the original memory in place. 5 hours later: congratulations, tests passed with flying colors. And I still no step ahead. And so I turn to you my friends, the people who are the person that every HP support advisory wants to be... Any guesses on why this doesn't fly? And/or how to solve this issue?
  24. Hello, I just created my account because I really need help with my pc. First of all I'not completely new into pc's and I generally know stuff about computers. I did the Windows 10, Version 1903 update I little while ago and since then my computer won't boot, this means: peripherals won't light up, no boot logo (gigabyte) or in general display output. In addition one particular case fan starts spinning and then goes off, meanwhile my cpu fan goes to max speed and stays there until I shut the pc down by holding onto the powerbutton a few secconds. Sometimes the pc shuts down automatically after a few seconds, turns back on and stays in that loop. I tried a lot of stuff: unplugging all fans (except cpu fan) because it could be a power issue -nothing disconnecting the graphicscard -nothing resetting the cmos -nothing putting in a new cmos battery -nothing updating the bios to the newest version -nothing I found one way to use my pc normally: starting it and let it sit it the state I described above for ~10 seconds, then powering off by holding onto the pwr button, next remove on of the two ram sticks, power the pc again, then suddenly everything works fine, the one case fan doesn't stop spinning and the cpu fan goes from max speed to normal and the pc boots. I thought okay it's a broken ram stick then. nope it isn't: when I power the pc off, put the ram stick back in and instantly power the pc, it posts and I can use my pc as always, no ram problems or an unstable windows. I now have to do this procedure every time I want to use my pc, I hope anyone can help me. I will put my DxDiag txt in here so you can find all stuff you need to know I guess, if you need more infos please just ask (sorry for spelling mistakes, I am german ) Kind regards Paul DxDiag2.txt
  25. Hi everyone! I recently bought all the component for my first workstation, taking my time and safe measure (anti static wrist strap) yesterday I started to build it. Finished, double checked everything, I booted the system for the first time and I entered the bios. Here I checked that all the component were recognized and found that the 2x ram stick were a little bit slower than they are, so I just clicked on "XMP", it found the right memory and i just saved. Made a Usb windows installer and Installed windows 10 Educational. Everything worked just fine so one of the first thing i tried in windows was to activate bluetooth and pair my keyboard and mouse without a great success: it paired but i couldn't use it. So I plugged a ethernet cable and just went to update windows. The system found 3 update, downloaded them and started to install. When they finished to install it asked for a restart of the pc, so i just clicked and everything went wrong. The screen went black, the system entered a sort of "boot loop" (every of the component seems to work, start the fans but never boot), Dram red led is on and there is an error code "4d". I'm not more able to boot (screen black, no input), I can't access the bios (tried clicking delete key but nothing happens). It seems like I can't do anything. Since than I tried to: - Consulted the manual + forum - Check that every cable was connected - Re-seated the Ram (tried first with 1 stick in every slot, than with the other one, and with both at the same time) - Checked the Ram (pins seems fine, the only thing I noticed is that when i power the system the rgb of the ram light up a bit slower, maybe 5 seconds) - Unmounted everything and rebuilded outside the case - I checked the 3950x CPU and the pins are perfectly ok, thermal paste re-applied and mounted aio (I even tried to loosen up a bit the aio) - Tried to boot without GPU, Ssd M.2, Usb Keyboard or mouse but nothing change - I tried to reset the cmos pushing the button on the MB and I even took out the cmos battery for 10 min - My MB has a dual bios switch: I tried to start the system with every combinations but nothing.. These are the components: - Amd Ryzen 3950x - Aorus x570 Master (Rev.1.0) - G.Skill Trident z rgb (2x 16gb, 3600) -> this was positioned in the A2, B2 ram slot - Cooler Master ML360r aio - Msi RTX 2080ti gaming x trio - wd black sn750 gaming (500gb, M.2) - Corsair RM850 I used pcpartpicker and tried my best to search components that had no issue of compatibility. Now: It's a killer rig and I worked so much for being able to buy it and now I just don't know what to do. What's strange for me it's that everything worked just fine until the windows update, no errors, no red led. How can I procede? 1) in theory Dram led = ram problem right? I don't know anyone that has build a pc so I cannot ask someone to lent me his ram to test it 2) On the motherboard it's displayed a error code "4d", but on the manual it doesn't exist.. is it possible it is D4 (PCI resource allocation error. Out of Resources)? 3) Can that be just be a defected motherboard? Or it could be the cpu or ram that failed? 4) Is it a windows problem? faulty drivers? Update? 5) Should i try to flash a new bios? I can't access the bios but I think can use "Q-Flash +" and a usb stick (I read that I have to empty every ram slot, cpu and just connect the 24pin cable, is it right?) 6) [in case] I think I can just return the component as defected. If that's the case is it safer that i return just the motherboard, just the ram sticks, just the cpu or the three together? I still have 2 weeks for the return policy and it would be a big mess if for example the problem wasn't the motherboard but the cpu or the ram... Thank you everybody for the help, sorry I really don't know what to do, I hope i was detailed enough.. Have a great weekend everyone N.
