I bought my self a new pc and build it. It starts up just fine and then i enter the bios. After a short while, this ranges from a few seconds to a minut maybe 2, the screen turns black and just wil not turn on. Turning of the pc is not posible with the button. I need to turn of the power suply. Anyone any idea how to fix this? Is this a bios thing, broken cpu or motherboard? Or any way to test what might be the problem?

Hi there everyone of the forum! I'm new to the forum and in dire need of some help troubleshooting a build i helped with for a friend of mine. Here it goes, so after building and double checking everything i powered it on for the first time and did get initial post without issue. Noticing it was weird that it was booting apparently slower than it had originally in the previous rig (Pre built from about 10 years ago) but it was still booting from a 3in HDD so i wasn't too concerned. not once I got in I went to partition and get the 2 new m2 SSDs we installed on the motherboard (will post full build info at end) and noticed at the one drive in the top m2 was not shown and after checking bios i found that it wasn't recognizing it at all. after reading the mobo book i found out that the top m2 has something to do with intel and 11th gen proccessors (were running a 10th gen in this build). thinking "ok we have one more m2 just below the top let move the drive there to see if it recognizes it" I tried moving the drive it would not power on at all, when i hit the switch on the PSU while it had power the RGB on the mobo lights up for a quick second but then off and nothing responds. power button does nothing and there is no power switch on the mobo to try. the only way we got it to boot again was to pull the battery on the mobo to reset it (i also moved the drive back to the slot and it changed nothing, only the board reset worked). After that i go tit running and decided to deal with it another day and sure enough the next day when he tried to power back on.... nothing.. he reset the mobo again got it running for a bit but no cant get anything again or get it to power at all. sorry for the long rant but i wanted to give as much detail as i can. below will be the build to the best of my memory since i do not have the build with me. Any help would be appreciated cause were kinda at a loss! Build: Motherboard- Gigabyte z590 Gaming X CPU- Core I5 10600K GPU- MSI 1060 3gb PSU- Corsair 850W Gold RAM- Corsair Vengance RGB 3200Mz Cooler- Corsair H150i Elite Capellix iCUE RGB Again any help will be appreciated and thanks for the time!

Hello Forum, Months ago the motherboard of one my laptops (ASUS F555L) got broken (I was almost 100% sure about that after t-shooting but I took the laptop to an authorized repair shop and it was confirmed). The repair shop offered to replace the board for ~900 BGN (around 500$) which was ridiculous given the fact that I bought the laptop (brand new) for 700 BGN (around 390$). After some searching I found a replacement board with even better processor for just 140$. After months of waiting I finally got the board, replaced it and the laptop was back to life (almost). The only thing that wasn't working was the display, however I was able to use an external display without a problem. I figured that maybe this was some sort of driver issue so I started downloading new drivers for the new board (ASUS X555LD). Everything was fine until I've decided that upgrading the BIOS will be also a good idea.... At the moment the laptop will power UP and that's it - no Windows, no BIOS, no image - just a black screen (the same way like it used to be before replacing the board). I'm not even 100% sure if nothing happens or just the display is not working... I was reading that there's a way to flash a new BIOS from a USB drive but I'm not sure if I'd be able to do this with this board. Furthermore I'm not even able to take out the CMOS battery from the motherboard because it doesn't have one. For the update I was using firmware and tools from the ASUS' website and before the restart of the machine everything was fine - I also received a message that the update was successful. P.S. I'm aware that this ASUS series are quite crappy but my mom was using the machine in order to run very lite software products and it was doing the job just fine.

Hi everyone, I'm doing a Xeon X5460 LGA 771 to 775 type of build on a Asus P5G41T M LX mobo. Did the cutting, did the stickering, and everything worked fine with a single stick of old ddr3. Now I bought a 2*4gigs kit from corsair XMS3 lineup, clocked at 1333MHz, and thought everything would work just fine. But here I am, waiting for something to happen as i only get black screen... I do know that it's possible to get 8 gigs of RAM on this mobo as there are tons of videos on youtube showing that, but i can't figure out how i can do it myself.. Really thought that this kit of DDR3 should do the trick as it's fairly old and is supposed to be supported by the mobo. Maybe I'm mistaken or maybe I'm doing something wrong, so please guys help me !! Thanks in advance

I need step by step instructions on setting up a ps4 to stream to the PC playstation app. Basically my cousin's HDMI port is broken, and in an attempt to repair the port his dad damaged the motherboard. So HDMI repair is out of the question. As an alternative I would like to set it up to stream to PC so that it can still be used until a new motherboard is ordered. I just need instructions because, well, I cannot see what I am doing. Thank you to whomever decides to take the time out of their day to count all those D-Pad presses

I'm in need of desperate help. I've checked almost everything including a check list in other sites, but I couldn't make it due to lack of my circumstances; this is my first build so I don't have any spare parts of systems. I couldn't even get to bios or any screen with that respect. Here are my specs: Ryzen 2600x + stock cooler Team Vulcan 16GB 3000MHz Asrock B450M pro4 RX 580 Meshify C SuperFlower SF-500 Golden Green HX https://ibb.co/fUJ8C9 https://ibb.co/cHAMX9 https://ibb.co/bOKtep Basically, it just keeps restarting. The monitor was functional, fans are running, but after about 15~20 seconds, it just reboots and this process never ends. I got rid of the rams but no message is shown on the monitor. Currently all the usb ports are not used. One thing about RAM though; this is my first time building, and I couldn't make it perfectly fit to the slot. My mobo's RAM slot only allows one part of the end to be opened, and if i press hard enough, that part automatically locks in, but if I apply some force to the other side trying to pull out, it does pull out from the slot. Is this normal, or should I apply EVEN more power? I'm kind of nervous now... I mean I pushed hard already several times. I only have a laptop, so my methods of testing are limited. Thanks for listening to this pathetic situation and please help this first time builder...

System: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/8qXPm8 After dedusting my computer it will no longer send an output to the screen. When I started it up I got a blue screen with a Windows saying it was turned off incorrectly, turned it off fine. After it restarted no screen would appear, but power was going to USB and everything else. After resetting CMOS I got to bios(I unplugged everything at this point apart from my keyboard). Exited and got to the login screen, as I started to plug back in all my usbs it turned off again and I'm stuck with a black screen on boot. I have tried resetting CMOS, draining the power, different screen, different bios profile.Yes I have tried that 20 steps method to the screen not working on Tom's hardware. All fans and lights are on, but only the keyboard and external DVD drive can get power through the USBs, headphones and mouse don't work. Thanks in advance for any help it's seriously needed. P.S.I don't have a buzzer.

Hi, I've just had some really stange things going on my computer. I left it for night just to do some processing, and when came back to it this morning, monitor was turned off, displaying "No Input". Power led was steady, like it was still turned on. PC was still running, keyboard and mouse had power but HDD led was blinking very rarely. Also, when I put my hand near exhaust fan, the air was colder than sometimes on idle, but I left it under heavy load. I've checked all cables and tried pressing some buttons on my keyboard. Also, pressing power button did nothing. Only forced shut down helped. When I booted it up, everything was normal, no log files, even standard windows startup screen. Also, it's been running for 4 days under continous full load but never failed. And passed Furmark + Prime 95 with max CPU temp. 90°C, but during last days temps were not higher than 60°C on both GPU and CPU. Any ideas what could cause this?

Hey all! I have had my system for almost half a year now, and have had no problems/complaints. That all changed today though. You can find my system specs here --> https://pcpartpicker.com/b/yXYrxr Anyways, I have an MSI motherboard, and today it made me do an install of the new MSI Live 6. I select the option to update, and it starts out normally. However, the update seems to be taking a very long time. I know it should take a few minutes, but it had been updating for nearly an hour. I didn't touch anything because I know if you do your computer can crash and your mobo can get bricked. So I kept waiting until all of a sudden my computer just crashes during the update. I panic and try restarting the computer, only to get the problems people usually get when their motherboards/bios are down. The computer turns on fine, and the fans spin up, lights turn on, etc, but I get no post on screen at all. It is just black. I check all my cables, unplug and re-plug, turn the system on and off, but to no avail. I hop onto some forum sites and the common procedure is to unplug the system, and then remove the CMOS battery for a hard reset. So I take out my CMOS battery, wait ~15 minutes, put it back in, and... nothing. I check again, and follow all the procedures, but to no avail. I call MSI only to get redirected back because they are all unavailable. So I figure it must be my CMOS battery. Confident that I found the problem, I drive 45 minutes away to CVS and pick up a new CMOS battery (Yes, I checked it was all the same specs on the batteries). I get back, take out the current battery, wait 30 minutes, and put in the new battery. And... nothing. I am at a total and complete loss. I am very scared as this system took quite a bit of my funds away from my bank account, and I really can't afford buying any new parts... Someone please help me. Any insight, information on this, anything at all is very a very welcoming sign. I have never had this problem before, and I don't know why the hard reset didn't work... Thank's so much for speedy responses as I have work tomorrow. BTW did I mention I am at a total and complete loss? (If anyone needs pics just let me know I would be happy to upload some of the CMOS battery, reset plug, etc.)

My friends pc (new build) : MB: MSI 760 GA-P43 Graphic: Powercolor HD7850 2gb gddr5 V2 CPU: AMD FX 8320 HDD: Hitachi HGST Travelstar 7K750 750GB RAM: Corsair vengeance 2x4gb 1600 mhz PSU: Corsair CX600 When fully completed i turned on the pc but got no signal to my monitor. No bios, no post beeb NOTHING I have tested al parts exept the cpu. it cant be the motherboard because I had this problem previously and send back the mobo so this is a brand new one. Is it possible that the cpu is the problem.
