I recently have been upgrading an old HP Pavillion p7-1236s for a friend. I had a compatible Xeon laying around that was better than the i3 that was in it before, however the Xeon has no integrated graphics so I put an R7 250 in it just so it can get a display, however there is no signal from any of the ports. The fan on the card spins up, and the rest of the system posts and is responsive. I was afraid it was the card, but I tested it in several other systems and it displayed fine. Then I was afraid it was the motherboard PCIe slot, but I tested an RX 560 and it displayed fine. I believe it has to do with the fact the RX 560 has an additional 6 pin power connector, while the R7 250 uses just power from the PCIe slot. I think the PCIe slot is not providing enough power to the graphics card. Is there any way to fix this? I checked around the bios, but with it being a HP prebuilt, the settings were very limited. The motherboard is a Joshua H61 board, the link to it is here http://www.ascendtech.us/hp-pavilion-670960-001-motherboard_i_mbdthp670960001.aspx. I need to do more testing when I have time, but I am just hoping someone can think of something I can try by the time I can test again. Thank you, Matteo

Yesterday my nvme M.2 SSD arrived (1TB XS70) and I went to install it, booted up my PC and their was no display or logo pop up and no way to access the Bios. So I thought I’d just remove it and try booting up again but it now wouldn’t post? I tried using a bootable USB and after I booted got a solid white CPU led, is it possible I knocked the CPU slightly out of its socket while installing the M.2? I did hit it a little hard as I didn’t have a lot of space since I have a MATX board and a somewhat chunky Red Devil 6600XT (later removed the GPU to get more space, and yes I reseated the GPU). I have reseated the CPU but I haven’t booted yet I saw the thermal paste on it and it didn’t look great, didn’t spread well, was cheap, had air pockets/bubbles (at least I was told), and was greasy. I know this isn’t the trouble shooting I should be focused on but I have done so much trouble shooting that I’m now here. In terms of trouble shooting I’ve tried: Testing the DP/HDMI cables, switching GPU ports, making sure I was plugged into the GPU, resetting CMOS and jumping the pins, attempting to use the integrated graphics in my CPU, reseating the ram, switching sata ports on my boot drive, removing all drives but my boot drive, booting with no drives, checking if my 2 monitors are working, trying to boot with one stick of ram, reseating GPU, checking for power connecters that are disconnected, disconnecting all USB/Drives to attempt to get to the bios, and using a bootable USB. There a more things I tried but I can’t remember it all. SPECS 64x OS 5600g Red Devil 6600XT Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL 3200mhz cl16 450W 80+ Bronze PSU (A bit underpowered but still worked perfectly fine even with the iGPU enabled) MSI B550M Pro VDH-Wi-Fi Silicon Power Ace A55 2.5-inch 128gb SATA (As original boot drive) 1TB Silicon Power XS70 NVME M.2 drive (supposed to be replacing the boot drive, and no I didn’t unplug the boot drive) PNY Pro Elite PS 500GB external SSD Hitachi HDE721010SLA330 1TB Not sure what bios version I’m on as I can’t access the bios, but I’ve never updated the bios, but I got the board about a month ago. It was working perfectly fine before.

Hello so my pc suddenly died one day and when i open it back up there is no display. I opened it up and clean up some dust while at the same time troubleshooting. After that it turned on but the next day it happened again, i did the same thing and it opened again but the next day it happened again but this time it doesn't work anymore. The CPU fan and PSU fan is spinning but there is no display and no light in the power button. Ive tried everything, reconnected every cord, cleaned everything, reset cmos, clean ram, clean psu nothing works anymore. Please help me. PC specs: CPU: Intel Pentium Gold G5400 Mobo: Durathon H310CH5-M2 RAM: 8gb TeamGroup DDR4 2666 HDD: Toshiba 1TB HDD 3.5 Hard Drive SATA Case and PSU: Across ACK-5828U3 W/ PSU 650W

Motherboard: Strix B550-f (wifi) RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX cl16 DDR4-3000 CPU: Ryzen 3700x GPU: Asus windforce OC gtx 1060 6gb before switching it out for 2Rx570s in Crossfire for fun Cooler: EK-AIO360 Drgb Storage: Samsung Pro 850 512gb (x3 RAID 0) and Samsung Pro 860 512gb (windows install) Case: Lancool II-W (Non-Mesh) PSU: Corsair Rm850x I was undoing the PCI lock using a screwdriver to reach it and it slipped hitting the top side of this chip on the motherboard (image below) and now the plugging in the PSU a and flipping the switch causes mobo rgb to turn on (as usual) but when pressing the power button the Q-Led indicators do nothing and no display while everything else turns on (fans gpu fans&rgb). When this accident happened I had just switched in and had been using the rx570s and was currently in the process of switching them out. I dont know if this problem is with the mobo or the graphics card but im pretty sure its the mobo as neither the dual rx570s or 1060 display anything from any ports.

Hello, I bought a Gtx 780 directcu ii from asus about 8 months ago from i person i knew. The card was running fine in his pc but did not give any display when i plugged it into my rig with an hdmi cable. Tried all the methods already listed here and on youtube to fix it like removing all drivers and so forth. tried using a dvi cable and it also still did not work. Tried putting it back onto his pc and same issue so i just thought something went wrong while taking it out and left it at that. It was just siting in my room for 8 moths until i bought an divi to hdmi adapter to hook up a second monitor to my existing gpu. Tried it with the gtx 780 for shits and giggles and it worked without removing drivers or any other work around. Just leaving it here incase someone else is having the same issue and can't solve it. The funny thing is that a normal dvi cable still does not work and it only works with the dvi to hdmi adapter for some reason.

Hi guys, I am facing a strange problem since few days which I needed help with. Whenever I cold boot the PC my GPU is not getting detected by the PC and hence, I am not getting any display at all. Not even the bios flash screen is being displayed. The PC itself boots up perfectly though. I can use the computer itself without the display (using teamviewer). I can see that in device management that all the components show up properly except the GPU. The GPU is not detected at all in the device manager. The strange thing is if I restart the PC then I get the same issue of GPU not getting detected and not getting any display. But if I switch off the PC using windows shutdown & then power on the PC again the GPU gets detected and I get display as well. And now the PC works like nothing has ever happened. But this problem persists if I switch off the PC and start it again on a cold boot after 20-25 mins. To troubleshoot I tried the basic steps Tried running the system on 1 ram stick, interchanging stick/slots. Issue not fixed Booted PC without GPU, PC boots and works fine (using teamviewer) Uninstalling the GPU from device manager, using DDU to remove drivers and fresh install Nvidia drivers. Issue still there. Resetting the BIOS to factory settings, disabling XMP. Issue still there. Testing separate displays, issue still there. Now I am very confused as to what the faulty component is/what the issue is. If the GPU is faulty then why does it give display after tuning off the PC & again starting it? If its not the GPU then why does it not get deducted during the cold boot? Could the Motherboard PCI slot be faulty? I have recently bought a new PSU one month ago so I don’t think the PSU is at fault. Plus, the PC works fine without the GPU. My PC specs for reference. The problem The problem I'm having is that when I boot my PC and press 'del' to enter BIOS my monitor will say 'No HDMI' then enter standby. However, if I unplug and fully power down my monitor and shut down my PC, then switch the PC on while simultaneously plugging in the monitor I am able to get a display in BIOS. I currently haven't found any other way to get a display to appear when booting BIOS. When I boot the PC and go straight to windows I get a display every time, with flawless performance. What I've tried Updating BIOS but problem occurs on all versions. Using different HDMI leads but problem occurs with 3 different HDMI leads that have all been tested. Powering down the monitor and powering it back up while PC is booted, still no display. Powering down the PC while monitor is connected then powering it back up, still no display. Tried using onboard graphics from MoBo (not sure if I even have any), still no display. Checked all connections inside PC including re-seating the GPU and RAM. Updated all drivers and BIOS, still no display. SPECS: Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X MoBo: MSI B550 GAMING GEN 3 GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 RAM: 32GB HDDR4 3600MHZ Monitor: ASUS VG328H1B Help! So I been having this No DP signal not found where it's a black screen and nothing shows but no signal message. This would pop up every 15 mins to a few hours. I have done these methods already with no result. Pc (All brand new parts btw) -CPU: Reyzen 5 5600 - Videocard: Gigabye AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT - Powersupply: RM 750 Gold plus - Restarting windows - Updating the latest drivers and windows updates - Taking out and re-plugging the DP cable - Uninstalling and reinstalling the driver - Using Brand New HDMI cables - Factory resetting the driver - Made sure the cables are secure in place Even without the driver in the pc it will still keep on displaying the no signal screen. I even tried switching my monitor to a tv and it will do the same thing, so I know it's not the monitors fault but the pc itself. I'm trying to wonder if it's like a RAM problem or that it's the graphics card in general that has a malfunction. Again this happens at random and I don't believe the wires are a cause to the problem cause the cables are plug in tight and I made sure to as well that the cables are neatly inside the slot. It's very strange, even most of my friends think it's weird that this is happening. Please help..

This isn’t my first build so this problem is new to me, my EZ debug DRAM light is on and the pc restarts after a couple seconds, then restarts again, then restarts once again and stays on after that, but the DRAM light goes off? After all this the there is still no display and I can’t access anything. I even tested it with different RAM that I know is working fine. I also tried booting it without RAM and it doesn’t restart anymore, it just stays on if that means anything. I read something that said I might have to replace my MOBO but im not too sure. Hi first full build, I really appreciate some help I've probably messed up somewhere but finding out where is proving a struggle. Things i have checked and things that might be useful My PSU is working on Old PC Understand their is no integrated graphics in the Ryzen 3600, does this mean i need to install drivers again for the GPU because i'm now using an AMD Processor over the one installed nativity in the dell case. I've been using this PC for 5/6 months without any problem. And then I had to move from my place for this COVID-19 Pandemic. But my PC and stuffs were there all safe. Now after 3 months I've brought them here. successfully set up everything. But when I powered on the PC it doesn't signal to Display. My Monitor looks fine and the GPU looks fine too. Is there any way I can troubleshoot the problem? My GPU has HDMI Port but my Display has VGA port. So I have to use a HDMI to VGA Converter Cable to connect my GPU to Display. My Setup : Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H Graphics Card: Gigabyte RX 580 Gaming 8G RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4 3200Mhz Storage 1: Gigabyte UD Pro 240GB SSD Storage 2: Seagate Barracuda 1TB Hard drive Power Supply: Antec VP500P Plus 500watt Display: Samsung SyncMaster S19B150 Please help me out! And Ask if I missed to add any information.

My build is an Asus z390-e motherboard, Intel 9 9900k cpu, 2 16 ram Corsair vengeance sticks, Nvidia GeForce 2080ti GPU, Asus rujin 360 aio and some other fans inside a MSI gungnir chassis and a Corsair 850w gold power supply. All the fans and LEDs light up except for the GPU and ram sticks, I'm getting no display, but I also hear a small short beep or buzz when ever I start up my PC. None of the trouble shooting lights are on. I tried plugging both the display cable and the HDMI cable in both the motherboard and GPU. Please help.

Hello! As the title says, I have upgraded my gaming rig, from Core 2 Duo E8400 to an i5 2500k. So I went out, and bought a used motherboard (ECS P67H2-A3) and a used processor (Core i5 2500k). I put all the parts together, but the system was giving no display at all. No beeps. NOTHING. Just the fans spinning. So I thought that my motherboard is faulty, so I sold the ECS P67H2-A3, and bought brand new, Gigabyte GA-H61M-DS2. Now I put all the parts together again, but still the same error. I went to a shop. I checked my RAMs, Power Supply Unit, Graphics Card (tried the iGPU still the same problem), everything was working flawlessly. And the motherboard seems to be working too, as it is new. Now the goddamn shopkeeper had no 2nd Gen/3rd Gen compatible motherboards or processors. So to check the processor, he put his hand on the processor to check if it was getting hot, and fortunately it was heating up. But then what's the problem. Why no display? My monitor is also working. (checked it by connecting to another PC). Specs: Intel Core i5 2500k w/ Stock HSF Gigabyte GA-H61M-DS2 REV 5.0 Sapphire Radeon R7 260X 2GB GDDR5 Kingston ValueSelect 8GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM (4x2GB Module Config) 2x Seagate Barracuda 500GB HDDs Antec BP-550 550W 80+ PLUS Power Supply Unit No display. I tried the following: Cleared CMOS Cleared CMOS thorugh Jumper Tried onboard GPU Tried reseating every component Made sure that everything was connected properly Started Computer with less hardware as possible (No HDDs, 1 RAM, CPU and motherboard using iGPU) Checked the motherboard's socket pins, they were not bent. Tried the computer outside the case NO DISPLAY STILL. Any solutions guys? I'll be very thankful! ~Thanks in anticipation.
