Hello everyone First of all, it's not my first pc build, I'm building pc's for years so I have a certain amount of experience but this is the first time I'm having something like this on a brand new build. So I was building a pc for my friend and all the specs are; Ryzen 5 5600, Aerocool Core Plus Argb 12Cm CPU Cooler (I normally don't ever buy crappy coolers but my friend was tight on budget and he wanted something "shinny" like this one and I thought it should at least work as good as stock cooler right? but no ) Gigabyte B550 Auros Elite V2 (rev 1.1), Inno3D iChill X3 RTX 3060, Be Quiet! BN-288 u9 600w, So the story goes like this; I built the pc like always and start benchmarking after Windows and drivers ready because I was gonna do some undervolting or curving but I noticed that CPU hit 95 degrees and started thermal throttling on stock fresh build in like 2-3min of R23 benchmark which normally even stock cooler hold the temperature for more long than this. I'm sure it's not a crappy thermal paste or using less thermal paste issue because I use Arctic MX-4 like I always use, I'm always pasting with card or something to make sure it's evenly spread on the cpu. (So the Aerocool cooler is not even work as good as stock cooler, don't ever buy this useless cooler) and I decided to let that benchmark finish (which is a bad idea) and went to bathroom for maybe 2 mins (so benchmark should have been running for at max 5 or 6 minutes) and when I comeback I saw black screen and PC was not responding and I don't overthink much about it and close the pc because I was gonna remove that cooler and install stock cooler instead but after cooler change PC never worked again. When I started, no beep sound, no display, no motherboard light but fans are spinning and when I try to shutdown by pressing button, it also didn't worked. What I tried so far? - I checked the rams and tried to start mobo without rams to at least hear any beep but nope - I tried to BIOS update from Gigabyte Q Flash Button with no cpu and ram (it seems flashed properly but I'm not sure since I couldn't get any display - status lights was looking fine for this process) - Lastly, I remove the CPU and installed on my own build which has Gigabyte B450 Auros Elite Pro mobo (and R5 5600 already working on it) and my PC behave same, no beep, no display, no mobo light, fans spinning, can't shutdown from button. So I figured CPU is dead since when I put my own R5 5600 back on my own motherboard it worked again but I wasn't too sure about installing my own R5 5600 processor on the new motherboard because if there is something wrong with the motherboard maybe it can also fry mine. So the story is like this, I RMA that CPU and waiting for response but I'm still not sure how this happened. I did nothing different, no custom OC/undervolt or anything. PC just worked as stock but fried on R23 benchmark. Is this even possible? Shouldn't the mobo close that PC if it overheat too much? Should I also RMA that mobo too? What do you think? thanks in advance

So I built my first pc and everything worked! (For about 2 minutes) unfortunately after installing Windows and setting up to update everything my computer died. To be clear it did not die while installing anything (to my knowledge). I did not tell the pc to download anything, when I pressed check for updates the system crashed and now has the same problem - won’t post. I’ve tried resetting all the ports, but nothing. I get power to everything, all fans on, gpu on cpu warming up, but no post no beeps. No display. Tried multiple monitors, tried removing the cmos battery, so far so not good. What to do now? I’m trying to see if I can RMA the mobo..... but I don’t want to wait another 2-3 weeks I’m thinking of trying to flash the bios but idk how to do that. asrock x570 taichi amd ryzen 3700x geforce rtx 2070 super gskill ripjaws 3600 ddr4 (2x8) Noctua d15 cooler

I recently bought a used water cooled ASUS P5Q3 Deluxe board and it seems to have issues powering on. Once he board recives power for the first time and it turned on the fans Spin up but I don't get any display, after turning it off and back on it resets after a second of power, then the fans spin up with constant power but still nothing on screen, so I began the process of elimination. removing the accessories and clearing CMOS, then the gpu and then trying pairs and individual ram sticks in various sockets as well as other kinds of ram sticks, I've also tested the PSU on similar boards and it works just fine the only different response i get is when all the sticks are removed giving me a beep code, telling me there's no ram installed on the board. I've swapped cpu's and gpu's but with no difference. So I'm pretty stuck as to why I can't get a post out of this board. Hope to hear something soon! So first hi guys im new to the forum. And here I am bringing up the last pieces of my strength to talk to you and hope that u can help me. Like u can read in the tile my desktop PC wont boot. How did it happened: I am a gamer and hobby streamer but my pc started to acted strange. So like I stream now since a year but since a few month the stream lagged and games otehr software too. But I guessed it was ok since the 4 years I know have it. So I said to myself why not just deinstalling everything having a clean new one ( I just used the windows 10 option for this) and it worked. But now after a few days I had new problems like Games would get laggy even if the FPS shows 90 fps and I had a normal ping. So I remembered that I didnt changed all settings in the bios. When I was there I changed a setting ( AND I KNOW THIS IS TOTALLY DUMB ) that maybe I should have never changed. Im not really sure what it was exactly but something like " DUAL Monitoring use CPU and GPU" or so. Since then my PC just wont boot anymore. I tried it lots of times but it never booted except for 2 times. 1 time was nearly at the beginning and I thought to myself well it will work just fine right now so I let it go through and it led to a trouble saying that it couldnt load. The other time occured while I pluged in a usb stick again I had in the pc the whole time took it out for some reboot options and I even got into the bios to change the settings. The only problem you may ask?! Well I had forgotten to insert the bios battery again so the settings where not saved. So far so good . Well I just want to share everything I can give u as information. Specs: CPU i7-3770 ( no OC) standart Intel-CPU-Cooler 4x4 GB of DDR3 1333 RAM Asus P8B75-M Mainboard GTX 960 4G MSI GraKa 530W 80Plus Bronze BeQuiet PSU 2TB HDD Seagate 256 SSD (WIndows Installed on). Which Steps have I done so far: - reobooted - checked if all pins are connected - checked if everything sits on the right place - pulled out bios battery and unpluged it from energy. Waited put it back in and rebooted it. - did it again this time switching the CLRT Sleeve from 1/2 to 2/3. Them moved it back and tried to reboot. - took out everything so that just the cpu will reamain - boot: one long beep 2 short beeps - looked them up error for memory - insert one RAM on A1 and rebooted ( no beep anymore) - tried out different ramslots with every ram no beeping anymore (tried out anything with the bios Battery changes written above too) - guessed RAM isnt the problem - - insert another PSU (worked fine on another system) - same error like the normal PSU - guessed USP isnt the problem- - tried out every single bootdevice I could imagine : - tried out just ssd = no boot hdd = no boot usb = no boot - guessed it couldnt be the harddrives- -dismounted the cpu-cooler - checked the socket for broken pins, dust etc nothing found - put back cpu again - guessed it isnt the socket ( cant say anything about cpu cause I dont have another one to test). - did every step with GPU in and out but motherboard doesnt care about it. - tried GPU in another PC it worked. - tried different GPU ( GTX 550 TI) same as current GPU - guessed it isnt the GPU. -Took out the whole Mainboard of the case to rule out a shorter. - acted like all the tries I had it inside the case . - guessed its not one of the shorts. No while Im sitting here and had like 100 different boot up results from: 1. it doesnt start to 100. It starts but I forgot to insert the bios battery and the changes where lost. I am at the end ... I cant figure out what it is and I spend a whole day searching for the mistake. It could be the motherboard but I dont have another one to check out. I would really appreciate some help and I am sorry for my bad english but it had been a rough day. Have a nice weak.

I bought the following components to upgrade two of my systems: Asus PRIME X470-PRO (motherboard) AMD Ryzen 3 3200g 3.6GHz AM4 (CPU) Corsair Vengeance LPX Black DDR4 2666MHz 2x8GB (RAM) I seated the CPU and installed the included CPU fan. The RAM got into slots B2 and A2 (as the manual suggests). I connected a not completely new 500W power supply into the two onboard power connectors and the front panel stuff of an older ATX case to their corresponding header. After switching on the power on the power supply, the boards RGB LEDs started glowing. A push onto the power button started the fan and a few moments later I hear a slight click. But that's all I get from the system. No POST beep, no BIOS screen, no other reaction. I though to have received a dead-on-arrival component. As I bought all components twice I replaced every part one after the other but to no success. I also tried to add just one component after the other to maybe get a beep error code but no beep at all with any component combination on the board (also tried to have just one RAM in the slot and swapped it to possibly locate a bad slot. Nothing worked. I removed the RTC battery for 15 minutes and replaced it again but that changed nothing. I'm out of ideas now. All my investigations resulted in a correct combination of the components (the ASUS website explicitly mentions the CPU and RAM as compatible). What else should I try? Is there a glowing pattern of the LEDs that tells what's going wrong? Thanks for any hint!

Hey all! So I'm building a new PC, and after plugging everything in, the RGB on the MoBo turned on, but nothing else happened. No beeps, no post, no fans, nothing happened. I then unplugged everything except the CPU, one stick of RAM, and tried again. Same result. I tried the other stick of RAM. Still nothing but the MoBo RGB. I reseated all power connections. Still nothing but the MoBo RGB. With these symptoms, how can I determine which parts to RMA. Is there something that I'm missing? Or anything I can do that might resolve this issue? Thanks for the help!

So, i just finished building my computer. But it doesnt boot or anything, only the chipset fan, cpu/gpu fan are spinning (probably too fast, but i dont know). When i press the power button the mainboards LEDs blink for second and then turn off. x570 Aorus Elite Amd Ryzen 5 3600 16gb Corsair Vengeance LPX Corsair CX 550 M Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti Edit: forgot to mention the gpu

When I turn on the power, all the fans start spinning, but no BIOS beeps or video output. When i press keyboard buttons nothing happens Does this mean that the motherboard is functioning? Is there a way to test if the CPU is an issue that doesn't involve me buying a new CPU? I have tried with and without the GPU (MSI Twin Frozr III GTX 660), with no difference. I have a speaker plugged in for testing purposes. I built a pc for a friend around two months ago. The specs: P5q Se PLUS Xeon E5450 8 GB DDR2 RX 470 Cooler Master MWE 550 So, he was able to use it for around two weeks before the pc started to go black screen randomly (even without GPU load). There was no artifacts, lines or anything that shows sign of a broken GPU. Sometimes, if he waits for a few days, he will be able to play again for hours without any problem. Sometimes the pc won't even complete post. The diagnostic beep or lights will tell that somethings wrong with the GPU. What I had done: 1. Replaced RAM, still the same 2. Checked cables, good condition 3. Tried another motherboard, same no post at boot. Could it be a faulty PSU? Just found out that the Powerdevil RX470 in this pc was used for mining for over 2 years+.

CPU: Intel Core i5 7500 GPU: GTX 1060 6GB RAM: 8GB SSD & HDD Thanks for taking the time to look at this post. Any help is much appreciated. I've had this PC for nearly a year now, just recently it won't boot. As you can see in the video I attached, it starts up, gives power to the mouse and keyboard, and goes stagnant with no progress of booting up whatsoever. What usually happens is that once the keyboard lights green and fades, the green light turns back on and the mouse's red light turns green as well. The monitor would then display the booting process until it eventually succeeds. The fans are spinning (if not noticeable in the video) and there is no beep sound to be heard. I've tried plugging the hdmi cable of the monitor directly to the motherboard instead of the gpu, same results. The monitor also seems to be working fine. video-1540823922.mp4

Hi so I did my first build last week using Asus Prime B450M-A and Ryzen 5 3500X. It was working completely until yesterday i decided to manage my cables for a cleaner look. After doing so, my pc is not booting up anymore. I noticed there was no beep during startup anymore which makes leads me to think this is a POST problem. The peripheral fans, processor cooler fan, and gpu fans are working. But the monitor says "no display." Even the rgb on the RAM is lighting up. I have searched google for troubleshooting tips and these are what I've done so far: - Remove both rams then turning it on - remove one ram and leave one on either slot A2 or B2 (ive tried every combination) - checked my connections but everything looks fine - checked my mobo to see if there are burns or bends or if something is shorting but there is none - reset CMOS by removing the battery and shorting the reset headers as said in the manual for about 2 hours I think ive done almost anything except check for cpu but im hesitant to do thst since google says its rare to destroy the cpu especially for a 1 week old build. I might even damage it more. I also dont have extra psu or gpu or motherboard to troubleshoot. What do you suggest i try more? Do you think this is still fixable? If not, which part do you think is the problem? Im guessing the motherboard but i cant believe it since it's very new and it was just working before i organized my cables. Thanks.

when do you know you can bake a motherboard? My mobo don't post, it starts, restarts and stays on but with no post and no beep. even without ram, and cpu it keeps doing this, but if i plug out the cpu power cable and starts it, it starts and stays on but stil, with no post or beep. Please help! this is what is does with cpu and ram (it is a video): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BuUq4JESaWinAxsS5RWPpJChG8dSNF7L/view?usp=sharing

So I have a problem that started recently, when I'm powering up my PC it runs for 15 seconds and then shuts down and powers up again. When the PC runs there are no leds, no display, no post. If I'm trying to run the PC without RAM, it does RAM POST beeps, and again shuts down after 15 seconds. I figured that the problem(or at least one of them) is in the ATX 4 pin connector that(at least what I think) is shorting the system for a reason, for example, if I'm powering up the PC without the ATX 4 pin connected, the PC powers up(again, no display, no post, no beeps with/without RAM) and doesn't shut down, but nothing happens more than that. I'm already looking for a new motherboard(unfortunately the motherboard is LGA1155, which is pretty much impossible to buy new in my country), but until I'll get it, maybe there are some weird solutions you guys can propose me to maybe try and fix the motherboard, feel free going extreme including soldering, and whatever you can think of, I don't see anything I have to lose here. Here are the solutions I've tried so far with no results: Different PSU(tried with 4 different PSU's, so that's not it), tried 3 different RAM sticks, disconnected everything for 24 hours, resetting the CMOS, checked all the cables/connections obviously, cleaned the PC from dust, checked that the cpu fan is connected well, and probably a lot more things I can't really remember now. My specs are: MSI B75MA-E33 i5 3470 Seasonic 500W(also tried Antec 750W) I'm testing the components with only the motherboard, cpu and ram connected atm, so I don't think there's a reason to specify other specs. Feel free to propose any solution that comes to your mind, please beware that solutions like "make sure everything is connected well" etc are pretty useless, as I already checked everything 200 times, but whatever comes to your mind. Thanks in advanced for the help

I went and replaced my MoBo, RAM, and CPU, because my Ethernet io port stopped working I believe from a storm and I was looking to upgrade soon anyways. I went from a i5 3570k, 8gb ddr3 ram, and msi b75ma-p45 to i5 8600k, gigabyte b360 ds3h, 16gb ddr4 ram, but the cpu and mobo were replaced as an attempt to fix the issue with an Asus b360 pro4 and i7 8700k. I have 2 hardrives and an ssd. ( all three about half a tb each) the ssd is my main drive with Windows 7 64 bit and one of my other drives that I keep out of the pc is a back up with the same OS. The third drive is just a slave drive. I also have an evga 1060 6gb sc, optical drive, 2 case fans, a hyper evo 212, 550 watt pay non-mod and the case is an nzxt source 210 black. I'll describe what happens: I got the new i5 and all that, put it together without a hitch, and on boot, there was no post or beep. I could still go into the bios and everything was fine there. I could use my keyboard and mouse with no issues and everything was registering on the bios, but when I launched into windows, I could not interact with my keyboard and mouse at all. I plugged then into separate ports, restarted several times, tried ps2, re-assemled the pc multiple times, reseated the ram, ran windows RAM diagnostic tool (don't know how I came across it, but it popped up and it came back with no issues), removed the gfx card, used my back up drive, booted off the optical drive (which the pc freezes on the "starting windows" screen when I do that) I internet flashed the bios, I preplaced the PSU with 520 watt modular, MOBO, CPU, and optical drive, swapped sata cables many times, tripled checked for loose screws or bent anything pins, quadruple checked the switches. My guess is that there is a compatability issue with 8th gen processors and win7. Some things to take note of along with the no post and no beep. On boot, the first thing it does is rev up can speeds to max and then it ramps down until it shows you the hotkeys for bios/boot options. The power button light is constantly on where it wasn't previously, and the reset switch starts turning on a lot when I get into windows and can't do anything. The lights and presets for the LEDs on my periferals are on and correct, though they're saved on the keyboard and mouse's memory, but the still don't function, as if they are plugged into a different pc. In the image, I do only have my back up drive and optical drive hooked up. Any help is greatly appreciated, Malcolm

Hello guys, So I just got a used P8P67 LE motherboard which is a Rev.3, and it doesn't seem like it wants to post/turn on, this meaning not even a beep or fan spin up. The standby led is solid green, and the TPU switch led works. The PCH heatsink warms up some reason when the motherboard isn't turning on but with the psu is plugged in and turned on. I have no clue what bios revision the board is running since it won't turn on. Specs CPU: Intel i5 2550k Motherboard: Asus P8P67 LE Rev.3 GPU: Zotac GTX 1050 TI Mini PSU: Cooler Master G750M RAM: 2x4GB G.Skill Sniper 1866 MHz SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB *All parts are from a different build except the cpu and motherboard. Methods Tested - Attempting to run the board outside the case - Shorting the front panel connector pins - Running with minimum components (CPU, 1 stick of RAM, GPU) - Reset CMOS battery - Reset CMOS battery/jumper - Replaced CMOS battery - Tried all the RAM slots - Tried a different PCIE slot - Tried with 3 different GPU - Tried with 4 different RAM sets - Tried with 3 different PSU - Re-seated CPU - Re-seated GPU - Re-seated PSU cables - Tried turning on with TPU off/on

Hey Guys, i got the "same" problem with two different Supermicro boards and i am out of ideas whats the problem. So i got the X8DTH-6F, two Xeon X5650 and 6x 8GB ECC 1333Mhz Samsung memory. Assemlby, i got a post right away without VGA connected. Putting it in the the chassis, post and no problems, but no video signal with VGA connected. Then powering it off, disconnecting power to switch some cabels and suddenly no post and no beeps. taking out and of everything but CPU and RAM, nothing but a working BMC, so the IPMI is working. then some different combinations of one CPU on RAM stick, nothing. also CMOS reset per jumper and with taking out the battery, only the BMC LED is indicating a working status. So i assumed, that i somehow fried the board... Second try with the X8DTH-6F, to ensure a working system assembly again on a antistatic base with working post and VGA signal (same CPU, RAM, PSU, display as before). At this point i can be sure that CPU and RAM is fine, can i? Then putting it in the chassis, booting into bios, configuring IMPI (unfortunatly i forgot to change the pass) and then booting into Ubuntu, all fine. Powering down, disconnecting power to boot it up into bios again to alter the IPMI pass and DAFUG i doesn't post anymore. I am really out of ideas what causes the problem. I kinda think that this is some kind of bios issue, because the hardware should be fine after around 5 boot ups. Also why should two board fail in a similar scenario? can a working cpu short out a board? i rule out the case for a shorting problem, because i was able to boot up the system. I would really appreciate some thoughts to this... With kindly Regards Jakob

I have been having problems with my PC randomly restarting the last couple of days. Yesterday after an unexpected shutdown the PC wouldn't turn on again like all the other times and when I pressed the power button the fans (cpu+gpu+chassis) would only spin for a second and then everything would shut off again. (no beeps; no post) After testing the PSU with the paperclip test I thought the culprit was the motherboard, so I went to the next shop and bought an asus p8z77 lx2 and put it in my case. After plugging everything in the m/b the PC would start but the monitor was still black and there was still no beep or post, the fans kept spinning though for 5-10 seconds and then the PC would turn off and restart automatically and again there was no signal to the monitor or beep or post but the PC kept running and I could only shut it off by holding the power button for like 5seconds. And that's the state I am in now, bought a new mobo but still it won't work. I unplugged everything but the 24pin and the 4pin cpu connector, no ram no gpu no hdd , only psu and the power switch and the speaker of course are connected and still no beep . I really don't know what is wrong since the paperclip test worked and the mobo is new, thogh I'm going to buy a new PSU just in case it really is the culprit. help is reaaaaaaaaaaally appreciated mfg Martin specs i5 2500k msi ngtx 560ti twin frozr 2 silverstone 500w psu asus p8z77 lx2 enhace corsa geil (???) I built a pc for the first time about a month ago. At the time it had the following specs: AMD FX6350 3.9Ghz GA-970A-UD3P mobo Gigabyte GT 630 2gb graphics card (overclocked to 795ghz) Crucial Ballistics Sport Memory 4gb (2x2gb) on dual channel Corsair 500w modular psu Seagate 500gb HDD HP CD/DVD RW ODD 1080p Vizio HDTV or a regular 17" monitor (as a backup) Zalman Z9 case The pc was working beautifully. I was playing videos, played a few games, and optimize settings for most of them, until I came across Battlefield 4. I could not optimize the settings for tha game. So I decided to upgrade my card to an EVGA GTX760. Prior to installing the card, I uninstalled the display drivers for the GT630. Once I installed GTX760 and powered up, a message appeared on the monitor that said "Please connect the PCI connectors that came with your card." I did plug the 8 pin to PCI, but not the 6 pin. So I plugged the 6 pin, which has a molex end, to other molex fans (wrong move I know), to the Corsair psu. Powered up, and a smell like something was fried happened. I turned off the system immediately, waited about an hour then powered up, everything was working (fans, lights, etc) but no signal or display. Powered down, turned it on again, till it could not power on anymore. I believed my psu was fried. I went to pc store to pick up a new mobo (same as above), aftermarket cooling (Zalman cnps9900 MAX), case, and a new psu (EVGA Bronze+ 600w). Installed everything with the correct connections, powered on, and yet no signal no beeps. Fans, lights, ODD and HDD appeared to be working, mobo was getting power. But nothing. So I went to Toms hardware to get some answers. I breadboarded, using both graphics cards, and yet no change. I disassembled my system and started completely over. Installed everything back in, and again, no beeps, no signal. I tried it on my monitor/TV using VGA cables with GT630, nothing. Tried HDMI with TV, nothing. Tried HDMI and VGA with DVI adapter to GTX760 (doesn't have a VGA port), nothing. I just don't have a clue as to why I am not getting any response with my system. I had enough parts to rebuild an older system (not with any of the components to new system) and when I powered that on using monitor and VGA cable, it worked! I got the beeps, BIOS, and everything. That gave me hope that I knew what I was doing. But my new system, no luck. I came across this site watching one of the Youtube videos on pcs in the hope that someone out there can help or give me advice on what to do next. I am guessing I ruined my CPU chip since that's the only part I have not replaced, but yet I don't know. I know the GT630 card works, but have not confirmed if the GTX 760 works, only by the fans working when I power up. Final build as of this thread: AMD FX6350 3.9Ghz GA-970A-UD3P mobo EVGA GTX760 2gb graphics card Zalman CNPS9900 MAX cooler (aluminum) Crucial Ballistics Sport Memory 4gb (2x2gb) on dual channel EVGA Bronze+ 600w psu Seagate 500gb HDD HP CD/DVD RW ODD 1080p Vizio HDTV or a regular 17" monitor (as a backup) CoolerMaster HAF 912 Anyone with feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, I've been building systems for years now and I've recently just bought some new parts. It's just typical that the time I come round to upgrading my own rig at Christmas nothing goes to plan. Specs: Antec true power 850w (part of my old rig) Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz MSI Z87 MPower Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard Intel i7 4770k MSI Radeon R9 280X Gaming Edition OC 3072MB GDDR5 The power LED lights up on the board and everything will power up for about half a second. I've tried: The board both in and out of a case. With just the essential processor, graphics card and a stick of RAM. With 2 different power supplies (an 850 and a 750W) With and without RAM also put them in in different orders etc With and without a graphics card Switched BIOSs Cleared CMOS Without CPU fan plugged in And I've also done the usual checks on cables being in properly and I've checked to see if anything is shorting. I get no debug codes either as the board powers off so quickly. Just to note I've been using the stock heatsink and fan during this. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I really don't want to have to RMA the board. Thanks

I recently opened my computer to blow some compressed air to blow the loose dust from my system. After cleaning, my machine boots for 10 seconds and shuts off (when the bios splash screen usually shows up). After 5 seconds, it tries to reboot. The cycle continues until I turn off my PSU. There was no beep telling me I had bad memory or some other error. Before/during cleaning: 1. Turned off Psu. 2. Took proper electrostatic protection to prevent frying components. 3. Kept air can an least 6 inches (about 15cm) away from components. 4. Removed video card. I have tested the following: 1. Unplugged everything except the CPU, one stick of ram, the 24 pin and 4 pin CPU cable. Same boot loop. 2. Tested power supply voltages. All good. 3. Checked that all fans were spinning. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? Do you think that the motherboard is shorting or the BIOS chip broke?
