Hi, looking to upgrade my 3060 in the, honestly, not so near future, looking to do a few more upgrades first. Namely CPU and therefore motherboard etc. By the end of it i will have a 13700KF on a DDR5 board with 32GB RAM to boot. The question is what GPU, im thinking i want a 4070, here are the options ive sussed out already and prices (in gbp £). gigabyte 4070 windforce oc 564 gigabyte 4070 gaming oc 619.99 gigabyte 4070ti gaming oc 829 Curious about the option thats best value for money and hopefully by the time getting them comes about they might be a tad cheaper again

So For Reference I run on a Desktop Specs are: Ryzen 7 3800x 32Gb DDR4 (2 16gb sticks) ASUS ROG Strix B550-F Gaming Wifi Nivida GeForce RTX 3080 10gb model And Currently running games of either an NVME SSD or Sata SSD So for context I usually run FiveM at 60-70 and Empyrion at 90-100 (These are the two main games that are intensive that I play) Neither game has had a recent update or change. Now in FiveM im hitting about 30 average and Empyrion under 20 I have tried changes settings and Updating Drivers and used DDU tried backdating to previous driver and installed 2 windows updates without much change. Temps are almost never above 60C on GPU or CPU Everything looks normal and utilization is same as usual about 80* GPU under 50 CPU Randomly Sometimes it will fix itself for maybe 30min then go back to low FPS any insight or tips would be Greatly Appreciated if any addition info would help let me know just did a virus scan and diskcheck along with a SFC scannow all came back normal. the two windows updates im going to list below along with current driver 2023-08 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 22H2 for x64 (KB5028948) 2023-08 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5029263) GeForce Game Ready Driver Version: 536.99 Released 8.8.2023

Specs for my Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55 my laptop: Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Processor: Intel Core i5-10300H CPU @ 2.50GHz RAM: 8.00GB Motherboard: CML Stonic_CMS (U3E1) Graphics: Intel UHD Graphics & NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 (supposedly). The Nvidia GPU has disappeared from my laptop but not completely, I don't know wether it was me stupidly using CCleaner or if it was just something that happened at the same time but its missing in my Task Manager (it was there before) and in my Graphics Settings (it was there before as a high performance gpu but is replaced with the main Intel CPU), it is appearing in my Device Manager under Display Adapters though. The Nvidia Control Panel won't launch, Geforce Experience opens but I cant click the home tab or settings button. I have used DDU 5 times by now, i've reinstalled windows the same amount of times but the issue stays. If it was a software issue would Geforce Experience stop allowing me click buttons? Is it a hardware problem because nvidia isn't launching, paired with the fact that when i go into the Windows Apps folder and launch the other programs in the folder these errors pop up. Using Speccy or Acer Care Center it shows both my graphics drivers, when I used GPU-Z it also detected the Nvidia GPU but... the memory size and the GPU clock speed are both at 0.

So I want to upgrade my graphics card for a while, but I didn't saw the opportunity compare to the market price, now when the 3060ti is 680$ I am kinda paranoid, idk if is worth buying-it, at first i waned to buy an 2070ti at aprox. same price, but now, when the 3060ti is 680$i kinda wana buy-it, is it worth-it or not? Or I should get some more money to get an simple 3070? And one more thing: it is worth upgrading if I have a Ryzen 7 2700, 16gb ram (2133mhz), and if is safe to run it on a 620 W 80+ bronze power suply (Seasonic)? https://www.ghiduldslr.ro/pixel-paladin-review/ - this is my pc, the site i s in romanian, but if you have google translate extension it will work ( I think :) )

Budget (including currency): $1550 - $1600 Country: United States of America Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Emulators (Cemu and Yuzu [both have some problems with AMD cards hence the NVIDIA because its more stable with it]), Astroneer, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, OBS (for light streaming nothing to big),Code Vein, Warframe, The new COD Modern Warfare, Sekiro: Die Twice,Borderlands: 3 Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I want to play at 1440p 60-144hz is preferred here is the parts list: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor $167.00 @ Amazon CPU Cooler Corsair iCUE H100i RGB PRO XT 75 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler $117.58 @ Amazon Thermal Compound Thermal Grizzly Hydronaut 3.9 g Thermal Paste $13.25 @ Amazon Motherboard MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard $114.99 @ Best Buy Memory G.Skill Trident Z Neo 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory $114.49 @ Amazon Storage Western Digital Blue 500 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive $67.06 @ Amazon Storage Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $54.99 @ Newegg Video Card MSI GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB GAMING X Video Card $549.99 @ Newegg Case Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case $99.98 @ Newegg Power Supply Cooler Master MWE Gold 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply $99.99 @ Best Buy Wireless Network Adapter Asus PCE-AC55BT B1 PCIe x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter $34.99 @ B&H Case Fan Fractal Design HF14-BK 118.2 CFM 140 mm Fan $20.39 @ Amazon Case Fan Fractal Design HF14-BK 118.2 CFM 140 mm Fan $20.39 @ Amazon Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $1475.09 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-05-30 02:21 EDT-0400 -I want to play at 1440p -60-144hz is preferred -I have no plans of changing the ram to another type since this piece of ram was chosen after i got a price/performance that i was comfortable with. meaning that yes this particular ram is in here for the rgb factor since i had a couple more to spare - My Wifi router is not in my Room where my PC is due to house size, hence why wireless adapter also the headphones I'm getting will be bluetooth as well so that's another reason (for your info i do not have wifi 6 so if there is a cheaper alternative wireless adapter that's just as good let me know) -I picked the MSI version of the RTX 2070 SUPER mainly because I liked its price for performance, but also because i am not comfortable with manual overclocking for right now so i chose this card to be compatible with MSi afterburner's automated overclock that should keep everything stable ( it also fits well with the rgb software on the ram and the motherboard which is a plus) - keynote: I will not back away from the Nividia card to a AMD card. This is mainly because the main emulator I play on, CEMU has some bugs when playing games on AMD cards another thing is that i personally feel a bit safer with the Nividia card in terms of software - I am not planning on doing any extreme overclocking as of right now, however I would like to do some minimal overclocking so let me know if this PSU is enough - due to how pcpartpicker is with compatibility between air coolers and ram, decided to go on the safe side with a AIO and I'm also planning of upgrading later down the line in the next 3-4 years so i should be good before the AIO dies from usage (i heard AIO's last up to 3-4 years before the liquid becomes unusable). I also just like how much nicer AIOs look anyway - Assuming everything goes well in the RGB software (ya know with ICUE and MysticLIGHT) I want my color theme to be Amber/Gold with black and ill probably add some red to cable extensions when i buy them down the line Well now that I said that is there anywhere that I could improve a bit more on in the NVME, Wireless adapter, AIO, Thermal Compound, and PSU department I am planning on ordering these parts by the end of June to early July

With the recent price drop of the 1080s dropping to 500$, I'm really tempted to get my hands on one... But then I'm not sure about vega as well, given that they've had great value compared to the intel cpus I wonder if they'll release some ridiculously priced gpu that will match it. Thoughts anyone?
-
So uh... any titan owners out there that are not feeling so great? ;P

Now that VEGA and RYZEN are almost upon us its the first time in 5 years I am actually considering doing a new AMD themed build (If performance is there). I am curious on how many people are planning on doing a VEGA/RYZEN and waiting out the next months, or are planning on still going INTEL now and just upgrading the CPU (IE GTX 1080 TI for example). Personally if the architecture works as indicated, I may be a AMD builder again. I am not a fanboy of either, for me it's all about performance for price. But what does the community think?

Hello, I want to try overclocking my EVGA GTX 1060 SC but its my first time doing this and i am not sure how to go about it. From watching youtube videos all see is set power usage and fan speed max then increase core clock. Is that all?

Hi all, New to the forum and have been banging my head trying to figure this out. I have a Asus Z170-AR Mobo and I'm trying to run two Asus ROG Strix GTX 1070 8gb cards in SLI. Ive been running one just fine but and everything seems to be in working order. When I added the second card I noticed in the Bios that it doesnt recognize either of my cards. But oddly enough in the windows device manager it still recognizes one card. Is there anything specific that I need to do in the Bios to enable my other PCI Express lanes? Or is there something that I'm just missing? Any advice would be much appreciated. *Note* My Mobo does support a dual GPU setup (came with and SLI bridge) and the PSU I'm using is a EVGA 650w supernova.

I will be playing mostly in 1080p 60-144hz but i am also interested in 1440p gaming as well. So i am wondering which card will be better value for my Ryzen 5 1600/ Ryzen 7 1700 build Answers and help are greatly appreciated! (Note: I unfortunately cannot get Vega 56 since i need a build for my birthday, August 22nd, and Vega 56 comes out in September)

So i was shopping on ebay to get a used gpu since im on a budget and I saw a 980 TI & RX 580 8GB for under 250 Is this a good deal? if so, should I go for 580 or 980 TI?
-
So i am building my first pc & im on a tight budget. I can either afford a 1050 TI, 1060 3GB, or a used 980 TI from ebay. Now I know 980 TI beats both of them but my bigger question is, Because its a last generation GPU, will this still be a good GPU for a few years? I am gonna play in 1080P @ 60 & 144hz.

Heya there, I'm writing to ask about some issues I've been having with my laptop's graphics card, What essentially happens is that after about 2-3 mins of load, the GPU has been setting its thermal limit to 55 degrees Celsius in most game (more on that further below). Another thing that occurs then is that the laptop's fan is always on at what sounds like maximum speed while this is occuring. I've checked MSI Afterburner, and another weird occurence is that the core clock is constantly locked at 1098MHz while the GPU is idle and I'm sitting and looking at the desktop. Now, the game I play most these days is Overwatch, where the laptop very clearly tries its damndest to keep the GPU below 55°, lowering my frames/second from the 100-110 mark to the 40-50 mark. Load on the GPU drops from around 45-60% to a low 25-45%. On DOOM (OpenGL mode), the laptop doesn't seem to lower its temperature as low, instead trying to keep it to a maximum of 70° Celsius. Clock speed in that game tend to hit the maximum allowed by any overclock I set, but often dip back down in intense sequences in game, once again, to keep to that 70°. FPS in DOOM has gone from a usual 60-70 FPS, to now around 50 FPS, given the settings I'm using. I've combed around the PC and GPU settings for any sort of fix (checking power settings in both Windows and the Nvidia Control Panel, resetting overclocks done with MSI Afterburner,), but nothing seems to fix the issue, besides a driver reinstallation, which used to fix the issue for about 24 hours each time I did it, but now simply doesn't anymore. Looking at GPU-Z diagnostics, Voltages seem to be fine (although they lower themselves once that anomalous temperature limit kicks in), so I think I can rule out anything to do with a faulty power converter or PSU. The laptop in question is an Acer Aspire VN7-791 series. I've tried rolling back drivers, making sure the vBios is up to date, same with the BIOS itself, ect. Other specs include an i7-4720HQ and 8GB of DDR3 RAM. The laptop is two years old, and I've not done any Vbios modifications or any related "boosted" overclocking on the GPU. Essentialy the graphics card in here has not been tampered with and has been kept within its overclocking limits in MSI Afterburner. No artifacting is occuring, so the graphics card for sure isn't dead. If anyone can help me out, I would be incredibly grateful ! Cheers, Owen. PS: I'll get in some screenshots from GPU-Z and Afterburner soon(ish), in case those may help identify any issues.

So right now I have a Pentium g3258 @4.4ghz, on an MSI Krait z97 motherboard, with two 7870's in crossfire, with 12gb of ram 2 sticks of 2 and one of 8. I was thinking about upgrading to ryzen, because im going to university in september, and ill be using c.a.d. and c.a.m. software, as well as coding (no coding anything extream its just with what little i try to do my system it seems to not be all to happy with recurring scripts that take a long time to run. (im looking at reducing time),as well as this i was looking at gaming on some light gaming on AAA titles, but mostly overwatch battlefield etc. I was thinking an RX580/570. i dont know if its worth the upgrade, as im going to have to upgrade most of the system, just to feature a new CPU. im unsure if i should stick with my current socket and save money or what, sorry there isnt realy a question hear more a i dont know whats happening

Which graphics card is best for my PC, I am using a dual-core processor with 3 GB ram. I want to play some real graphics games. I know to play high-quality graphics games are not possible with this configuration but I need a graphics card that can help me in playing games like Just Cause 2, blur.

Dear Linus, sorry for my english. Do you want another 16k solution, maybe with a laptop? Try this configuration: 2 eGFX Breakaway Box 650 + 2 NVIDIA QUADRO RTX 6000 + 2 Dell UltraSharp 32 8K Monitor UP3218K + a laptop (workstation) with Intel® Xeon® E 2286M vPro™ processor (2.4 GHz, up to 5.0 GHz with Turbo Boost, 16 MB cache, 8 core) and two Thunderbolt™ 3 Type-C ports Infact Intel® Xeon® E 2286M vPro™ can support a graphics video card until 64 GB of memory. Dell Precision 7740, HP Zbook 17 G6, etc. ... they could help you to do this. It's your new opportunity Bye

My computer hangs up sometimes, It just freezes but hears nothing or anything. It may recover but it is very rare. I have AMD FX6300, GTX 1050ti, MSI 970A-G46, Kingston 120GB SSD, Corsair Vengeance 16GB, Western Digital 596GB. What is new and what I do not know is the fault is Ram, 1050ti, SSD. What I think is the fault is the motherboard because it has been around 100 degrees can the solder melt and fucked the motherboard or can it be that the CPU sings on the last song? Sorry for bad english.
