Is there an option in `/etc/exports` that I need to enable for that drive to be removable? I currently have this: /media/veracrypt1 192.168.122.0/24(rw,sync,no_root_squash,subtree_check,crossmnt) When I try to close it manually since I had to unmount with: $ sudo umount -l /media/veracrypt1 this is what happens $ sudo cryptsetup --debug luksClose veracrypt1 # cryptsetup 2.6.1 processing "cryptsetup --debug luksClose veracrypt1" # Verifying parameters for command close. # Running command close. # Installing SIGINT/SIGTERM handler. # Unblocking interruption on signal. # Allocating crypt device context by device veracrypt1. # Initialising device-mapper backend library. # dm version [ opencount flush ] [16384] (*1) # dm versions [ opencount flush ] [16384] (*1) # Detected dm-ioctl version 4.47.0. # Detected dm-crypt version 1.24.0. # Device-mapper backend running with UDEV support enabled. # dm status veracrypt1 [ opencount noflush ] [16384] (*1) # Releasing device-mapper backend. # Trying to open and read device /dev/mapper/veracrypt1_0 with direct-io. # Trying to open device /dev/mapper/veracrypt1_0 without direct-io. # Allocating context for crypt device /dev/mapper/veracrypt1_0. # Trying to open and read device /dev/mapper/veracrypt1_0 with direct-io. # Trying to open device /dev/mapper/veracrypt1_0 without direct-io. # Initialising device-mapper backend library. # Active device has no UUID set, some parameters are not set. # dm versions [ opencount flush ] [16384] (*1) # dm table veracrypt1 [ opencount flush securedata ] [16384] (*1) # dm status (253:1) [ opencount noflush ] [16384] (*1) # Trying to open and read device /dev/mapper/veracrypt1_0 with direct-io. # Trying to open device /dev/mapper/veracrypt1_0 without direct-io. # Deactivating volume veracrypt1. # dm versions [ opencount flush ] [16384] (*1) # dm status veracrypt1 [ opencount noflush ] [16384] (*1) # dm versions [ opencount flush ] [16384] (*1) # dm table veracrypt1 [ opencount flush securedata ] [16384] (*1) # dm status (253:1) [ opencount noflush ] [16384] (*1) # Trying to open and read device /dev/mapper/veracrypt1_0 with direct-io. # Trying to open device /dev/mapper/veracrypt1_0 without direct-io. Hello, I can't get NFS to work on my ODROID HC4 with OpenMediaVault setup running on Armbian Buster. VLC on my Android phone just says this: I got a tip to use NFS on Linux - Kodi running on LibreElec and my phone ...and SMB with my laptop running Win10. Is this setup fine or should I be concern about any issues that may come from using different operating systems? Thank you

Hi All, I have an issue where I have an NFS mount on a Linux Server (SLES) that connect to a Windows Server 2019 box, it connects fine and i can write files to the Windows Server, however there are no permissions on the Windows side, so I am unable to move the files around or do anything without forcefully taking ownership, which is a pain. The top level permissions have 'Authenticated Users' to be able to modify everything in the folder, sub folders and files. Any ideas? I'm a bit stuck with it! Thanks in advance, Jamie

I'm sorry if this isn't the place to post this - let me know if so.. I have tried damn near everything to solve this - The user.cfg hotfix file, vsync, NVIDIA control panel/experience all settings, all of it. Turned off all overlays (origin, nvidia, xbox) and overclocking apps, viva/fraps, killed processes i.e. I'm all out of ideas. Online/offline made no difference, setting all options to low got me 32 fps and ultra @200 resolution scale gets me 26-30?? I'm livid and at the edge of giving up. Playing on Origin, EA Play subscription, from an SSD. GTX 1080 Ti, Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB RAM

Hello Internet, I brought Need for speed in 2015 few days after its launch, i never had problems playing the game on xbox one controller using a 6 feet cable so i could play on the couch if need be, however since the recent update the controls on the game have gone haywire, the car auto accelerates, brakes, turns, spins, reverses and so on automatically basically i look dumb with the controller not being able to control, i have latest drivers for xbox one controller updated them using xbox windows store app, tried switching cables to a smaller length, unplugged the keyboard to just play with the controller but nothing seems to be helping the issue persists me like a nightmare, its a great game and best played on controller but unable to do so in frustration i also wrote origin found no answer, some youtube videos where they suggest to change sensitivity on the in game settings for the controller but doesnt help either. Any one of you had the same trouble out there and found a solution please share i would be greatful. Regards Akram...

Hello I have 3 servers running freeNAS 1 of them is the storage server and the other 2 I want to use as Hyper Visor. So I want to have the storage server with freeNAS have a NFS share and mount that NFS share in the storage pool of the other 2 servers so I can utilize the storage server its storage for the VMs on the other 2 servers. I have been digging a lot and I can not find it I can how ever mount the NFS share fine in Ubuntu server centos etc I just can't find a way on how to do this in FreeNAS it self

I have noticed over the last couple of years that support for NFS v3 or v4 has been dropped from all Linux file browsers. Which is funny since many places still run NFSv4 shares. What makes this even more absurd is the fact that windows with the nfs support plugin will allow you to browse nfs shares and mount them. Can anyone here give some insight as to why this is happening. It is now complex to mount an NFS share in linux, but very simple to do it in windows. The world is strange.

I have two interfaces on my NAS, 192.168.1.253 which is on the LAN and 192.168.192.253 which is directly connected to my desktop. My desktop has 192.168.1.1 assigned by DHCP on a 2.5Gbit NIC and 192.168.192.1 static IP on its on-board gigabit connected to the NAS. I was originally going to use NFS multipathing to combine both links but there is so little documentation on it, I couldn't figure out how to do it. So as an alternative I decided to try mounting one of my shares on the Gigabit link instead of the LAN. Server: /etc/exports /home/alexatkin 192.168.1.1(rw,no_subtree_check) /home/newsbin 192.168.1.1(rw,no_subtree_check,all_squash,anonuid=1002,anongid=100) 192.168.192.1(rw,no_subtree_check,all_squash,anonuid=1002,anongid=100) Client: /etc/fstab server:/home/alexatkin /home/alexatkin/Server/Documents nfs4 noatime,bg,tcp,actimeo=1800 0 0 192.168.192.253:/home/newsbin /home/alexatkin/Server/Newsbin nfs4 noatime,bg,tcp,actimeo=1800 0 0 But NFS for some bizarre reason is mounting the second entry like this: server:/home/newsbin on /home/alexatkin/Server/Newsbin type nfs4 (rw,noatime,vers=4.2,rsize=1048576,wsize=1048576,namlen=255,acregmin=1800,acregmax=1800,acdirmin=1800,acdirmax=1800,hard,proto=tcp,timeo=600,retrans=2,sec=sys,clientaddr=192.168.1.1,local_lock=none,addr=192.168.1.253) Even if NFS has realised its the same NFS server, why would it ignore my explicit instruction to mount by a specific IP address? That IP address is not in DNS, it does not resolve to server. What's even more puzzling is the client routing table shows: Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface default Router.lan 0.0.0.0 UG 101 0 0 enp1s0f2u1 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 101 0 0 enp1s0f2u1 192.168.122.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 virbr0 192.168.192.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 100 0 0 enp0s31f6 So surely it should prioritise 192.168.192.253 anyway if it knows there are multiple paths to the server? If I run iperf3 or ping to 192.168.192.253, it goes over the correct interface. Why is NFS behaving differently? I could probably remove the export for that share over the LAN as its not needed, but I really want to know why NFS is behaving like this as I may wish to do it with other shares which ARE shared to the whole LAN. Worth noting is I did used to mount this share using the server:path but both client and server has been rebooted since then so it shouldn't be remembering that session.

So I have all my Linux machines configured so that I can log in with the same username/password which is administered by a central server which also holds an NFS file share so that the home directory is consistent across all machines (user login is nis/ldap). Currently I've got a desktop working with a Windows/Linux dual-boot, but Windows is isolated all on its own. The NIS/LDAP login on the linux machine works and mounts the NFS home directory, but with Windows I have to use a windows login and password which I don't like... I also don't have a consistent home directory between Linux and Windows. Force-mapping the nfs file share into windows for all to use is not an option. Is there a way to get Windows 10 to use the same login credentials as the Linux users across the network and also have a consistent home directory? If possible, I'd like to avoid having to reconfigure the Server if at all possible. (Windows 10 client) (Arch Linux clients) (CentOS 7 server)

I am running an i5 6600k and an rx 480 4gb (all stock speeds). 8gb ddr4 ram aswell. I can achieve 60 fps on 1440p high in BF1, will NFS payback be the same or is it more demanding. I feel like my GPU is becoming obsolete now. AC origins doesn't run too well (40 fps lock at 1440p med) and watchdogs 2 is unplayable... However, these are Ubisoft games remember..... PS: I hope to play it at medium/high settings

The title, but it's not deluxe edition, just standart One. Tnx for advice:)

Hi, I'm a gamer at heart like a lot of you forum people, but i can't get a better computer to play games, I have a, Gigabyte GA-H61M-S1 Intel i3-3240 GeForce GT610 4Gb Crucial RAM A random toshiba 500gb hdd an ADATA HV610 An old 250gb HDD in a sata to usb box and whatever the PSU is, What can i do to make it faster, or what would be the best upgrade to do on the cheap (like 50 euros cheap), I'm in a situation where i got some cash for starting school and my parents only can give me 25 euros. Funny story, "We need to move to a bigger house for 107k, But I can't buy you a better PC for 800 euros" Parent logic, Am i right?
