thx for taking time help me I just got a new NZXT MANTA ITX case, but when I'm building it, my Graphic card, which is gigabyte/Aorus gtx1080ti xtreme edition 11g, it seems too thick to the manta, how can I solve this?
-
Simple question really, might have a more complicated answer though. So here goes: Buy the 1080ti now (or after vega release) OR... Wait for the next gen 1180? currently have a 780ti, and it really starts to bother me when I try to run 1440p I just want some opinions on the matter before I make a choice

Hey Guys! I 'm following Linus and the rest of the crew from some years now, but never got into the community thing, but hey.. Some day we get smarter and here I am (sorry for when my English isn't perfect, I'm from Belgium and I speak dutch natively) I didn't find anything like this right away, so I hope I can start this thread.. I was wondering after assembling some computers for my own and friends/family and as most people know, cables are a struggle.. Isn't there any other options/ideas from manufacturers or other people to make this simpler/better? I got an idea stuck into my head for while now.. The one thing that (I think) 'sucks' in a beautiful PC build, are those cables, even after some cable modding, they're still very in sight.. What if manufacturers and case designers would make the motherboard connector(s) (mostly the huge power one) on the BACK of the motherboard? Wouldn't that look ALOT better for smooth, beautiful pc builds? What are your thoughts about this one? What about the practical part for the manufacturers / case modders / pc builders? (You can acces everything else on the back..) What are your ideas for a cleaner pc build look? Thanks! I look forward to any feedback and ideas! :-)

I don't have a mobo that will support pci pass-through, but I know for awhile nvidia has started to support gpu pass-through on their consumer cards. Has anyone tried creating a virtual machine with pci pass-through and used their hyper-visor's discrete graphics card in steam stream? I am trying to create a virtual setup that can be logged into and game on. If anyone has come across this, or can help point me in a direction it would be great. It seems in theory there would be no reason why this wouldn't work. Thanks!

Hi guys, So my Steam folder is pretty bulky but includes a hell of a lot of games I haven't played yet. Below I've linked a Straw Poll with a selection of the games I'm willing to play, you can vote for multiple games, and vote from multiple computers (if you really wanted). http://strawpoll.me/4745571 Thanks, BRD C P.S. I accidentally messed around with the font, sorry if this shows up and looks weird EDIT: Here is a strawpoll for your relevent turnip option: http://strawpoll.me/4745624

Call me nerdy, but I'm a collector of unusual computer hardware/setups, especially in terms of displays. Basically those things you see and think, "that would be neat to own, but I'm not paying for that," and I have to have it, sometimes I get lucky and end up getting to. Things like the NVIDIA Shield Portable, Oculus Rift DK2, a triple monitor setup, a fourth touch screen monitor, a 5.1 surround sound setup, that kind of stuff. I've decided that I need a new monitor, but can't decide which of two options to go to next. I'm debating between a 4K display, and an ultrawide display. Either one would be used for gaming, although not primarily, I've got my surround setup for that. I'm hoping someone who has owned/used both types of monitors can touch in on which one was just an all around better experience. I understand that each type has many different options, I'll end up picking the best that fits within my budget, I'm just talking about the two options for what they are, not any specific models. I hope all this makes sense, and I hope you guys can help me. Take it easy!

This Christmas, I'm considering pulling the trigger and blowing some money on a 4GB GTX 970 from EVGA. Coupled with a fresh install of Windows (Windows 10), it should be a nice upgrade. But, if we're being honest, the 770 is still not a slow card. I don't want to part with it after only a year. I'm not seeing my performance lacking at all - GTA:V on Very High to Ultra is 60 FPS solid, Witcher 3 on Ultra is 60 FPS solid, even my ridiculously over-modded Skyrim is getting anywhere from 30-40 (and that is truly the only game that would benefit hugely from a 4GB card.) If I don't blow on this, should I wait for another year or even two, and then go for a complete rebuild, or get a monster card. Or perhaps I could finally get myself a Moto 360. Or maybe I could just be sensible and save it for a rainy day. Please give me your input, and thanks a lot.

Hello all, My family of three is looking to upgrade phones this summer/fall, and we're currently deciding between Verizon and AT&T. We've been on AT&T for years, but they're pretty shitty service and signal wise so we're thinking of jumping ship and going to Verizon. I'm interested in knowing if any of you have had experience with both AT&T Next and/or Verizon Edge in recent years. Which was cheaper? It's safe to say that Verizon is better in my area, so I'm curious about prices and whatnot. Thanks!

As we all know by now both next-gen console platforms the PS4 & XBOXONE utilize AMD hardware technologies in the form of a CPU & a GPU, this has lead to a lot of interesting discussion regarding games being optimized for the AMD hardware on the consoles having an effect on PC games & gaming in general. For almost the last decade the majority of games have been very single thread & operation per clock reliant, an area where intel has excelled and maintained a lead over AMD. Where traditionally AMD has been always more focused on CPU frequency & parallelism, they were the first to the 1Ghz mark, the first to launch a dual core x86 processor, the first to launch a native quad core (4 cores on a single die) x86 processor & the first to launch an eight core desktop processor. This is why for the past six years games have favored intel processors, well now things might change a bit. The PS4 & XBOXONE both sport an eight core AMD Jaguar processor and an AMD graphics processor based on the GCN (Graphics Core Next) architecture. This essentially means that the games & game engines developed for this hardware will be very different from what we've had for the better part of the last decade. In the sense that these new technologies will be developed and optimized to operate in parallel (more cores) and use the AMD optimized instruction sets and microcode. I have always believed that this will most definitely have a significant effect on PC games, allowing next gen titles to take advantage of a greater number of cores than ever before which will lead to much more sophisticated physics and AI implementations, not only that but because AMD CPUs have traditionally had more cores than intel equivalents (FX 6300 a 6 core CPU at the same price point as a hyper-threaded intel dual core processor ) this will give AMD CPUs at every price point a significant advantage over Intel CPUs. @LinusTech & @Slick have expressed their disagreement with this argument more than once before, believing that these console optimizations will have very little effect on the PC. Well now it's not only I that believes strongly in the argument for more parallelism and the positive effect it will have boosting game performance of AMD CPUs, but so does the legendary John Carmack, when he gave his keynote at Quakecon yesterday. @4:12 http://youtu.be/o2bH7da_9Os?t=4m12s You can read more about the performance benefits that AMD CPUs will gain here & here.

Mad Catz announced today that it started working with Microsoft Co. on the development of next generation accesories for the Xbox One. From source: "The Xbox One home entertainment system from Microsoft is expected to launch this holiday and the first Mad Catz products are expected to ship holiday 2013." Source: www.eteknix.com What do you think how will this affect the looks of the next generation of accessories for the X-one?

Hey guys. With the release of the GTX 780 all eyes are on Nvidia. But whats AMD doing? I know they have the 8970 but they are just brandered 7970's for retail correct? Any rumours about their next generation of cards? I have a 7970 in my rig now but have myself thirsting for my power. I would go with a crossfire solution but frame rating is a bit of a problem right now. I would prefer AMD because I find they are cheaper for the same performance compared to Nvidia. I would love a GTX 780 because they preform great, almost as good as the titan. What do you guys think? Should I wait for something from AMD or go for the GTX 780. Sorry for the long message, can't wait for your opinions.

Hey guys! First of all I would like to let you know that first, english isn't my mother tongue, and second, this is my first post on the LTT forums so be nice Alright so to get to the point, I have built my PC in the end of september last year, when the 700 series from Nvidia were still "fresh" and i chose a 760 as my main videocard. So now that its about half a year later, I've noticed that my card lacks that small extra kick that I was still hoping for after half a year. I mainly notice these problems in games like Dayz (which is still completely playable at 40-48 fps) but I was actually trying to upgrade quite soon. Now the question: Would you guys recommend going for 760 in SLI, or go out, sell this card, and buy an 780, or wait for a little while and get a 880. Speaking of the 800 line of cards, is there going to be a significant reason for me to wait another quarter to get a maxwell based 880? Alright that was it. Thanks in advance! Greets, from Meat

Source Blizzard's 'Jobs Directory' I read this earlier, wondering what kind of game this could be? I've read threads about a 'Project Titan' or something similar about a month ago, but I'm not sure that this is the same thing. The source includes more information, and it is a report on the fact that Blizzard have recently posted fresh job listings for recruitment of personnel that may indicate that a new title is incoming. The postings simply describe the project as 'Blizzard's next epic Title' Concept Artist Lead Technical Artist 3D Character Artist 3D Weapons Artist 3D Character Animator Environment Artist Lead 3D Character Artist Lead Producer Level Designer Senior Art Manager Sorry if this is posted already because it is in fact the subject of the post I read a month or so ago, but maybe someone here has some more info if not. Maybe it's a sequel to the ageing World of Warcraft? It does sound more like an arena game from the article but you can't be sure, however it sure smells like new IP to me.

I just read a fantastic piece on WCCFTech "gasps" I know what a shocker ! but it was genuinely intriguing. It explains how we are truly on a verge of a new era of computing and how this new era is going to bring us back to the "golden age of silicone valley" when CPU performance would literally double every year. http://wccftech.com/article/exploring-amds-intels-architectural-philosophies-future-hold-part/
