HI! I'm new to the LTT forums. I've been watching LTT for about a year now and I enjoy the content. It inspired me to build a new PC even though I've never built one before. I currently own a DELL XPS model from 2016 that I used to get me through college and its served me well for my creative work for about 3 years while I was studying visual communication design. I wanted to upgrade to something that could handle both gaming (like flight sims and some other AAA titles) and creative work (PS and Video editing). My base budget is $1,500 USD ( I can go a little higher if need be). I did research and already purchased my CPU, GPU, and RAM. Here's what I have on hand: CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x GPU: MSi Ventus 3x GeForce 3070 8GB GDDR6 256-bit RAM: Owl memory series x2 OLOy 32GB (16GB*2) 3600MHz 288-pin DDR4 SDRAM Note: this kit came as a combo with my 3070 on Newegg. Added it to my PC Part Picker list and there were no compatibility issues. Total so far: roughly $900 I would greatly appreciate advice on the rest of the components I need that would be compatible with what I have currently.

( List shown below ) Finally finding what i want, the virus came. Soaring prices deterred me from buying any parts and i read that is better to buy parts together compared to buying them separately so i waited. In the meantime, i continue to do my research on each and every part. When i was discussing with my friends, i realize next year around may, i would be enlisted into the army for 2 years. To give some context, i currently have a gaming laptop, not really great but manageable, playing games like overwatch and Stronghold. As of now one of the hinges broke off and my laptop screen is slightly tilted. I also bought a gaming monitor monitor 2 weeks ago ( Which haven't arrive ) since currently im doing programming so having dual screen and gaming on a 30inch curve monitor would benefit me. BUT, my DUMBASS didn't do enough research, i thought "oh buying monitor is easy, get a monitor, get a hdmi and we are good to go " but nooo. apparently, my laptop is nvidia GTX 1050 mobile while my monitor has a AMD Freesync. Not only that, my laptop is pumping out 50fps at least and 100 at most. i read that as of now Nvidia and AMD can sync up but i'm not sure. Back to my story, my friends suggested that i should build a PC now since they have no confidence in my laptop surviving one more year but then again, getting enlisted in the army for 2 years is a really long time especially when a plethora of new techs that will come out within this 2 years. During this 2 years, i will be forced to stay in for 3months but the remaining duration is unknown. i could be getting a 8 to 5 job in the army or stay in camp or both. I was thinking of build a $1000SGD PC first, so after my enlistment, i can upgrade it to a high end PC. For GPU, i intend to get either a RX5600xt / RX5700 / RX5700xt but i have researched and that their driver are wonky and unreliable. I might be playing AAA games in the future so Which RX should i get? If not, which RTX should i get? i just don't know how corsair PSU works man. all the alphabets in corsair's psu gives me headache. i just know i should get a 650w? with 80+ bronze. Maybe getting other brand's PSU as well.

Hello, a friend of mine recommended me to ask for help in this forum for building a PC, so I will give it a go. I recently received a Geforce GTX 750 graphics card and 2 DDR3 4gb RAM sticks as a gift from a friend. He felt sorry for me having to play on my PC which can't handle going above medium graphics on any game. So I decided to try and buy parts for building a PC around these parts, which hopefully would be able to improve my experience in games, but also last me for some time. 1. Budget & Location Budget: 550$ I live in Sweden and my current budget is the one listed above, 550$, however I would prefer to go lower if possible, and/or could go higher up to 600$ if I really have to. 2. Aim The aim is to have a long-lasting PC which would be used for gaming, as stated before. However, I do not intend to play games like Battlefield 1 and Witcher 3 on max graphics. I am more of a League of Legends, World of Warcraft and other MMORPG titles kind of a guy. I would at least be able like to keep my resolution at 1920x1080, and without having to put the lowest graphics possible on each game that I encounter. Here's a list of games that I might want to play using this PC, with AT LEAST medium graphics: World of Warcraft League of Legends Bless Online (new MMORPG game) ArcheAge Black Desert Online (if possible) 3. Monitors I only have one monitor which I intend to keep and play with for as long as possible, which has 1920x1080 resolution. 4. Peripherals I have a gaming keyboard + mouse from SteelSeries, and I have a copy of Windows 7 which I can install on the PC. 5. Why are you upgrading? I just want a long-lasting PC that can handle playing the games which I previously listed, and other indie or not so heavy graphics games. I feel left out since my friends are all able to play these titles without having to lower their resolution and graphics, while I am the only one who's has to. I am hoping that you guys could give me tips or a build plan which would help me maximize the use of the parts that I have, within the budget that I have. Hello i havge as a off the shelf rog strix gl 12 seires gaming computer it is nice but i am saving up around $2500 for a budget and wondering what can i do to it to max it out without having to upgrade to cpu and still run with the best of them or should i just save up a bit more and just build one from scratch, i hate to admit it but i have been watching almost all of linus's tech tips for building and that but still not sure on the limits or how to find out the limits of my mother board which is a gl12cp, for example i dont know if you would be able to put 2080 ti nvidia in or if that is way too much card for the mother board and things like that.

Okay, so 2 years ago I bought a Pre-built Hp Computer. Made for gaming the specs included Cpu: intel i5-7400 - legit actual thing Gpu: Hp Low Profile Gtx 1060 3gb Ram: 2x4 gb 2400 mhz ddr4 by hp an off brand psu (500w) by hp and a 1 tb hdd - most likely legit :/ I broke it with a cup of accidentally spilt water, I tried fixing it. Didnt work. I then bought parts to replace what i seemed was broken This being a new psu: evga 600w bronze and a new Mobo: was a z237 now a Asrock b365 Phantom Gaming 4 (I tried using the cpu with a mobo that supported it but the cpu was dead) I then replaced the cpu (this is the time i got the asrock b365 phantom gaming 4) i now have an i5-9400f still no boot, mobo had light that stayed on dram so i bought more (its prebuilt dram and after watching enough of linus's videos i learned that ram can be altered by manufactures when in a prebuilt system) i now have 2x8gb corsair vengence 3000mhz ram It turns on but with no display, this leaves me to believe the gpu is dead can manufactures alter a gpu like they do ram? and can they alter the hdd too?

So just wondering if all runs well together and if there is better, note, money is no issue just strictly wanting as fast as I can get for the most part.
