I bought the NZXT player one model, this is my first pc. I have watched tons of videos from LTT and other popular tech content creators. Ever video I have seen says to enable XMP. Here are the specs of the pre build: CPU Intel® Core™ i5-12400F GPU NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3050 Memory 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR5 5200 MHz Motherboard B760 Storage 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD PSU 650W Gold Is there any conflict with the motherboard or anything that would make turning on XMP cause any harm or slowly damage something?

I currently have a 1tb Gen3 M.2 installed in the only Gen4 M.2 slot on my motherboard and I'm looking to swap it with a 2tb Gen4 M.2 SSD and move my current 1tb Gen3 SSD to the other M.2 slot on my motherboard. -Since my OS is already installed on that 1tb drive will I run into issues by adding a new SSD and moving the current SSD in use into another slot? -Do I need to or should I migrate the OS to the new Gen4 SSD I'll be adding? -Is there anything I need to change in the BIOS as far as boot settings? Just built my first PC this month and hoping to not brick it by doing this so any inputs are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Games crash to desktop on new pc with no errors whatsoever
BlueZ95 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hey guys, maybe you can help me with this problem, I'm starting to lose my mind over this - Ryzen 7 5700g with Noctua NH-U12S Redux - Nvidia Gtx 1660 Super 6gb from Gigabyte - Msi b450 Gaming plus max - Corsair vengeance 16gb rs (2x8) 3600mhz - Thermaltake Smartlite 500w 80+ white - Thermaltake H700 tg snow Every game crashes to desktop (no error code, no black screen, no blue screen, the game just closes) after like 1 minute, or the game keeps playing but the image just freeze (The game is playable while this happens). Sometimes it runs for like 10 to 15 minutes, but it always crash. This is from more modern games like Nier Automata, Final Fantasy XV to less demanding games like Hollow Knight or Ori and the Blind Forest. I've tried: - Updating the BIOS - Disabling the onboard graphics - Restricted the PBO frequencies (Precision Boost Overdrive) in some cases this option goes over the limit of the cpu, and leds to the crash (This guy who seems to have the same problem explains it much better) - Reseating the gpu and the ram - Run memtest64 (pass) - Updating and installing older versions of Nvidia Drivers - Using HDMI and DisplayPort - Reinstall W11 - Install W10 - Reinstalling Games As a side note, I've run furmark with anti-aliasing off and no problems, but when running it with 8x MSAA Furmark crashed in like 3 seconds Thermals seems fine, maxing out to 65°-70°. I think it might be the psu (Which is low, I know), but it's such a mix of weird crashes and freezes and I'm 99% sure that a faulty psu would not crash a game, it would turn off the pc direclty. Might be a combination of both psu and graphics card? Where the gpu is not receiving the power it needs to run on heavy load? That would explain the crashes on heavy demanding games, but on low demanding games too? I just don't know Any ideas on what it could be? Thanks in advance!!- 21 replies

Budget (including currency): No Limit Country: Turkey Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly games for now Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hey everyone, I hope you're all having a great day! I want to build a new gaming PC and I'm seeking some advice. While I'm willing to invest in quality, I don't want to go overboard with spending. Here's the build I'm considering: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2QcXN6 If anyone has suggestions for optimizing this build or alternative recommendations, I'd love to hear them! Thank You!

My am3+ based gaming pc has come a long way and it's run out of steam, so i'm building a new system and i would like some thoughts on it! Motheboard: Asus prime b650m-k CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700x CPU COOLER: Cooler Master MasterLiquid M240L GPU: AMD Radeon rx7700xt gigabyte RAM: Kingston ddr5 8gb 6000MHz (2 sticks so total of 16GB) SSD: Corsair MP600 core 1tb PC build is aimed at gaming and is based on AM5 for future upgrades being easier. 2 IMPORTANT QUESTION i have are: -is the cooling setup for the cpu going to be enough knowing ryzen 7000 likes to get hot -is my current 560w PSU enough considering the recommended wattage is 525w on most PSU calculator websites. I would feel comfortable with that but the PSU is 8 years old, i have tested it and it always turned out fine, its a modular 80plus gold rated PSU but i think over time it has lost some of its mojo. Sorry if i missed the topic or if i have made a boring, long topic but i appreciate the helpful answers in advanced!

Like the title says it says "No internet, secured". I've been struggling for like a day trying to figure this out. I've tried EVERYTHING. I've reset my internet 4 times, disabled and reenabled my drivers, network reset 10 times, restarted Windows, restarted my computer, changed the DNS, used power-shell, and nothing worked. My hotspot from my phone works but for some unforsaken reason my home wifi doesn't work. It worked at first after I first installed the drivers, then I installed some apps discord, steam, etc then I enabled EXPO. When I turned it back on it started the issues. It would stay then disconnect and say the phrase "No internet, secured" but when I reset my computer it would work and then stop again. After doing this forever, reseting it wasnt working anymore. Please help me in this.

Budget (including currency): Ideally under $2500, but open to going above (i'd like to keep this pc for a while, so i'm open to splurging a bit haha) Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Genshin Impact (and other Hoyoverse games), lightly modded Minecraft, Photoshop, Audio/Music Production, Graphic Design Other details: (sorry in advance for the confusing way everything is written, i don't know what i am doing!!! also i dont have a pc parts picker list yet... i didn't get that far.) Current system as follows: 12700k TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS WIFI Motherboard (I think) 2x 16 3200MHz Corsair Vengeance RGB RAM EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G5 Power Supply ASUS TUF Gaming 3080 Fully Water Cooled with a Custom Loop with mostly Corsair HydroX stuff Currently built in an O11 Dynamic Future System: So here's the story. I'm going off to university soon, likely in a place far away from my hometown. I probably won't be able to visit home as much as I'd like, and while I would consider ditching my desktop for a gaming laptop, I've had bad luck with gaming laptops in the past and I'd like something familiar while I'm away from home. Being a university student, I probably wouldn't have the space for my PC as it currently is (the o11 dynamic is a pretty massive mid-tower case), and it's also way too heavy to lug around for the times I will go back home for break. So I plan on downsizing the case and potentially upgrading a few things (as well as changing the aesthetic). I like pretty things, so I want to build a white pc! I also want a case with at least one glass side panel so I can see pretty lights inside the pc. Ideally, I'd be able to have a white motherboard, white ram, and white power supply, etc. I'm open to modding things, but I don't have access to a lot of tools, so there isn't a lot that Ic an do. My pc is pretty black right now, so pretty much everything is going to be replaced since I'm stubborn like that! Unless the performance I have won't happen with these parts, I'm keeping my 12700k and my 3080, they both work just fine and I really don't want to water-block another gpu.... PC needs to be small enough to fit on TOP of a desk. I don't know what my dorm situation is going to look like, but I cannot guarantee that I'll be able to fit a pc under it. From my research (?), that would mean the case would probably have to be Micro-ATX but I've got no clue how small that is IRL, and I don't know if that will even be small enough. I'll be purchasing an audio interface eventually, as I'd like to produce music on this computer as well. I'm a singer, and having an XLR mic would be a game changer. Not sure if that's going to affect any of the PC specs, but what do I know? I'd like this PC to be capable of gaming at 4k, even though I won't be doing that most of the time (it's so impractical to have a massive monitor in a college dorm, but once I get my own place it'll be a different story). Refresh rate isn't as important, because I don't play many games that would need a high refresh rate. This PC is going to be fully water cooled with hardline tubing. I like the aesthetic way too much... I'll be collecting these parts steadily over the next 4-5 months and I'd like to build the computer in late June-early July. So here are a few questions (and things I'm considering): Is something like this even possible? As in, physically. Am I physically capable of squishing all these parts into a computer small enough? Should I upgrade my GPU now, since I'm upgrading so many things? If I do upgrade my GPU now, I'll probably build a Ryzen system instead of Intel, so my CPU would also change and then I would just be building a new computer at that point. At that point, I'd just sell my whole computer as is, whereas before, I was planning on selling the parts individually since I was planning on keeping a few things. Would I be able to even cool this comfortably with water cooling? are there cases that would allow me sufficient radiator space?

So I built a new PC last week and finally got it to work off my old SATA SSD. Once it was all good and setup, I cloned the OS onto my new P3 PLUS m.2 and checked to make sure I could boot off of it. It worked when I switched my boot drive manually by spamming f11 as the PC booted. So I assumed everything was good. I cleared out my old SATA SSD to free up space, and it still worked fine. I played some games and went to bed. I was super busy this week so I didn't try and use it at all until today and it gave me this dumb blue screen. It turns off after sitting there for 3-5 minutes. My keyboard and mouse LEDs won't turn on, and the computer doesn't take input from them. I don't have a USB drive, is there anyway I can fix this and what happened. Im getting fed up. I already tried removing the SATA SSD btw.

This Guide is for Updating the Various Components of a Windows Computer and is Intended for: Those who have a fresh install of Windows on their computer and haven't installed any drivers yet Contrary to popular belief, a default Windows install will NOT update all of the things listed in this guide Those who are trying to troubleshoot issues. This is a great place to start and rule out the simple things quickly. Those who want to see if they have anything out-of-date This guide does include links to update the OEM software on laptops MANUAL METHOD (Motherboard) This is for those who want to avoid installing the all-in-one updating software from motherboard manufacturers. Skip to step 4 if you want to go that route. For updating desktop motherboard drivers (for laptops, skip to step 4 and select your brand) Run the following commands in PowerShell to obtain your motherboard model and UEFI version Get-CimInstance -ClassName Win32_baseboard | Format-List -Property Manufacturer,Model,Name,SKU,Product Get-CimInstance Win32_BIOS | Format-List -Property SMBIOSBIOSVersion,Manufacturer,Name,Version Search for your exact motherboard model from the report in your favorite search engine. So I finished building my new PC yesterday and after 3 hours of blood, sweat, and tears, I powered it on. I breathed a sigh of relief when it went into BIOS, but that quickly turned to frustration. It powers on, all the fans spin to life, and every component is detected ( I5-12600k, 2x8GB Vengeance LPX 3600mhz CL16, GT 1030, MSI PRO B760M-P DDR4, and 2 drives, my old SATA SAMSUNG 870 EVO 500GB with all my data and Windows install, and a 1TB P3 PLUS from Crucial.), but it won't make it past BIOS. Every time I unplug it, or restart it, it just goes into BIOS and won't post. I've tried removing the new SSD, switching SATA ports, and nothing works. I can't switch BIOS mode to legacy, and it just won't detect the SATA as a boot drive. Please help!

Hello everybody. I would like to ask for your help. I just assembled a new pc (except the psu) and I have problem with stutters (avg fps are 60 or above without v-sync, but 1% and 0,1% are about 15 to 19 fps max). My specs are: Cpu: Ryzen 5 3600, mobo: msi b550 a pro atx, Ram: Aegis G-Skill 16 gb ddr4 3200mhz (2 x 8), gpu: rx 6700 xt, ssd: Western digital SN 770 SSD 1TB M.2 Nvme PCI Express 4.0, cooler: Be Quiet Pure Rock 2 and the psu from my 2011 build, a Cooler Master Silent Pro 850 watt 80 Plus Bronze. The problem is that every game I tried stutters either on Ultra or lowest settings. The games I tried are: The Crew 2, Crew Motorfest, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, A plague tale Innocence, Valheim, NFS Unbound. The only games that work without a problem and with ultra graphics are Ac Valhalla and AC Mirage. I Benchmarked and stressed my gpu and cpu with 3D Mark and Kombustor but everything worked fine without any problems. Also the psu didn't seemed to have any problem during the tests. I also tried swapping to my old gpu (rx 580 8gb) after a driver clean uninstall with the exact same problems in the games. I also installed the latest mobo bios upgrade, closed all programs that may slow the pc like Xbox Gamebar, installed only the gpu drivers without the adrenaline app, disabled xmp and ran the games with my stock ram speed (2133mhz) put pc in performance mode, changed the virtual memory and finally I performed a format in case it was a software problem. Nothing worked. The first thing that comes to mind is the psu, but after consulting with a specialist though the phone he told me if the psu couldn't handled the power it would have caused crashes or black screen, or simply the pc wouldn't start. He was also baffled about what exactly was happening. I'm also at a loss and every bit of advice and help will be more than welcome. Thanks in advance.

TLDR; I have a new computer that needs all the software (Quickbooks 2008 and other old accounting software) from the old computer onto the new computer. No interest in upgrading to new versions. Can't find the downloads. What do I do? Mother-in-law got a new computer for Christmas. Yay! Now I need to set it up. Yay! All joking aside... She happily uses some older accounting software, like quickbooks 2008, on windows 10 and has zero desire to move to any current versions. She is ok with moving to WIN11 (currently on the new PC) but doesn't need to. I need to get this software and a couple others, as well as any relevant saved data from these programs, onto the new PC. Do not have the original CD that was used when the software was purchased. According to any forum posts I find, and from what I can find, the oldest download available is 2010. What do I do? Current thoughts: - I have a SATA to USB cable. Can I just pull the drive from the old computer, plug into the new computer, and get the program files that way? - Any other way this cable could be of use? - Using a cloning software to clone the drive? They incur an additional cost but if its the only way it is what it is. Still not sure what the best way to go about this is. Want to improve quality of life, not over complicate it

I'm getting a desktop for the first time and it's gonna be custom built. At the store I went to they suggested two configs, one AMD and one Intel. Budget (including currency): 1200€ Country: Portugal Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Valorant, Dark Souls series, Guilty Gear Strive and some *very* light programming for university Other details : Currently I already have a monitor (32" LG gaming monitor, 1440p@144Hz), a keyboard and a mouse. Not too worried with getting speakers or mic in a hurry because I have some nice headphones too and I'll still have my laptop if I need it. I'm not very demanding in terms of FPS or resolution, but I'd like to be able to play at 1080p60fps The Intel configuration that was suggested was: Asus Prime H610M-K ARGB DDR5 Motherboard Intel Core i5-13400F (10 core, 4.6GHz) AData Lancer RGB 16GB (1x16gb) DDR5 6000MHz RAM Gigabyte RTX 4060 Windforce OC 8GB GDDR6 Seasonic Bronze B12 BC-850 850W Power Supply NTECH Slayer RX 240 LGA 1700 ready Water Cooler Samsung 980 M.2 500GB SSD Nox Hummer Infinity Omega Tower Chassis The AMD configuration was: Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite V2 DDR4 Motherboard AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 8-core Kingston Fury Beast Black 16GB (2x8gb) DDR4 3600MHz RAM Gigabyte RTX 4060 Windforce OC 8GB GDDR6 Seasonic Bronze B12 BC-850 850W Power Supply NTECH Slayer RX 240 LGA 1700 ready Water Cooler Samsung 980 M.2 500GB SSD Nox Hummer Infinity Omega Tower Chassis The biggest difference between the two would be the DDR4 vs DDR5 RAM, but which of these two configs would be better performing? How well can I expect them to perform? Would the DDR5 RAM only being one channel impact its performance? I also noticed that the Asus Prime Motherboard for the intel build is Micro-ATX, with only one PCIe slot and only 2 DIMM slots and I was wondering if that could be an issue in terms of upgradability? Is there any component you'd recommend I try to swap out for something better but in a similar price range?

I wanted to hear people’s opinion on it before I pulled the trigger. I have been doing some research and came upon this list. Mind you I am aiming for something that will last me at least for 6-7 years before spending another 1K on it. I am also interested in CableMods for it but I cannot figure out exactly what cables I might need. Appreciate any comments and opinions. Have a lovely day. Dio

Good Morning, I’ve recently took the challenge of building my new PC completely by myself with the little knowledge that I have and YouTube for the extra help support. I have a MSI MPG B650 Edge WiFi Mother board, RTX 4080, AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 64gbs DDR5 Ram, Samsung 990 M.2 SSD. I have my GPU drivers up to date, my Ram speed is optimized, my CPU drivers are updated, and my motherboard has been flashed and updated to latest bios. Anyways, I’ve been having an issue with my USB ports front of the case and rear aswell, the power to them will cut out and on randomly while gaming and when I Alt Tab to go to my second monitor it will start bugging out and disconnecting and connecting again. I’ve done research and tried everything that I can think of or find to try and nothing has worked for me this far. The main step I have done so far to try and fix is going into my device manger and making sure all my usb drivers are update and it still hasn’t fix the issue, I’ve also unchecked where my pc can turn off USBs in Device manager to save power. I’m wondering if I could’ve hooked something up wrong or maybe I got a faulty mother board. Anything helps, Thank you!

I recently upgraded my pc to AM5 and got a new PSU. After some driver issues i reinstalled windows and all the drivers and then it seemed to work for almost a month. However I didn´t really push it to the limit. only played pretty light games... Today i downloaded Fortnite and imediately got a warning about my drivers not beeing up to date. I wanted to check in AMD Adrenaline but although it was installed i couldnt open it. So i reinstalles adrenalin and Updated the Drivers. In Order to get my Logitec webcam to work i had to disable Kernel isolation. Then after aprox. 10 minutes of gaming i got a black screen and my PC Powered Off. That happened 3-4 times. i Thought it might be the logitec driver so i removed it, reenabeled Kernel isolation and used the webcam with the standard windos driver. Game still crashed... I thought it might be the game so i reinstalled the Game and it worked for 2 hours. But then i got a blackscreen again... I checked wether my cpu overheated but it didnt... i ran a benchmark but that worked fine... How can i find out what causes that blacckscreen? I think it might be that the PSU doesnt have enough power (it has 600W Output).... System: Ryzen 5 7600 (not x) Radeon rx 7600 xt Sharkoon 600W non modular PSU Motherboard: PRO A620M-E / MS-7e28 running bios version 3.5 SanDisk SDSSDH3 1T00 running windows 11 Pro 10.0.22631 Build 22631 thank you in advance! Joshua edit: I also tend to get havy lag and freezes for 1 or 2 seconds before the blackscreen i never had lag in fortnite and my pc should be better now... and it runs fine for the most part....

Budget (including currency): Around $800 to $1000 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, video editing, and other more modern games Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have an i5 6400 This is the build list I have made: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GMwhmD If you can make this one better or make a build that is better that does not use the i5 6400 that would be great. I like Intel and Nvidia but do not require them, just if the specs and price are the same I would take the Intel one. I need a drive for the OS and a drive for everything else. Would like my "everything else" drive to be two in raid 1 so I can lose one. Will run windows, would like to have more ram than less. Will need case and psu, can do without peripherals for now. Need any more info, just ask.
