Hey LTT Forums, I’m currently living in an apartment and am looking to find a solution to improve my audio. Currently I am just using the built ins of the tv. Any 5.1 solution is out of the question due to space limitations (my couch is backed up to the wall). I average between 50-60 dBs when watching tv so not loud. With that information I have a few questions for y’all: A) Is a subwoofer going to be too loud for an apartment? I’m on the first floor but I’m still worried about bass traveling through walls. B) Is an upgraded solution worth it with volumes at that level? C) Do y’all have some recommendations for an upgrade? I’m looking at ≈$200 (USD) price range but I could be convinced to go up.

Specs: GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 CPU:Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz RAM: 16 GB OS: Windows 10 The story: Recently I have tried to launch a game on steam (Such as New World, War Thunder, Sea of thieves), and for some reason I get a black screen (The entire screen, not just the game. I have two PC screens) whenever I get into the game. Oddly enough, I still hear the games audio in the background (With an occasional Windows Notification when this happens) but I was left with no choice but to restart my PC. My PC also makes that noise you would expect when it is overheating at least from what I could tell. Doing anything else besides launching a game whether its watching videos or using Discord it works fine. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the Graphics driver (Geforce Experience) but this didn't work. Though, while reinstalling the driver, Windows Security claims that I have a trojan which doesn't make sense to me but I removed it regardless (Or quarantined it). One of them however mentions that it is affecting a Nvidia file I tried setting my power plan to high, I disabled that 'Windows Game mode' along with State power management and nothing worked. I unplugged and re-plugged the RAM, CPU and GPU and still no luck. I eventually tried to rollback Windows updates since this started occurring a few days ago around when I got a Windows update. Windows Security and such. I tried to uninstall them, I got some but the PC absolutely refuses to allow that option. It DID actually work for a bit, but then I got the Black screen again. I tried to use advanced options to uninstall the Windows Features, or Quality update but the PC can't do it. To make this even stranger is the fact my external hard drive where I keep most of my games in, sometimes does not pick up and restarting the PC somehow fixes it. (My Windows is in the other hard drive, its an SSD card). I am tempted to try and reset my PC to see if it could work, but I need advice...anyone has suggestions on what I could do or what I am missing?

hey folks i am planning to do a new build over the course of the year. bying a graficscard isn't due till some month down the line, but as i doubt that prices will recover till then, or even this year, i thought i'll ask you all for your opinion now: so, where i live, the 3080 and the 6900XT are going for the same price (1300€) at the moment (6900 new from retail for 1300; 3080 only available from ebay and such, retail pricing, if available about 1100) if i want to play at 5120x1440 would i benefit from DLSS enough to get the 3080 over the 6900XT? as i couldn't care less about raytracing, i'm really drawn to team red this time. isn't amd working on a tech similar to dlss? also, i guess i would benefit from almost double the vram (10 vs 16) at that resolution, right? the 3090 isnt an option as that card is about 2500. also the 6800XT is only 100 less than the 6900XT so not really a sensible buy here. looking forward to all your input

Hello dear community As I just moved I settled on doing a rig, aswell as workspace upgrade over the course of the year. I definetly want to get a 5120x1440 screen. The both I boiled it down to are the C49RG94SSU 144hz and the odyssey g9 240hz. Both displays are about 200€ apart where I live so the choice boils down to features and quality more than price. Usecase will be gaming mostly (loads of single Player sightseeing games and the occasional FPS round with the boys), and some cad work. Do you guys recommend one over the other? Do you have any experience? Should I look for another super ultra wide in general? Any input is highly appreciated

He asked for the pc to be 500 euros but as i do not know about video editing i do not really know wich part to pick here. All help would be greatly appreciated. Hi I am looking for a good cheap cpu cooler that is available in Australia. I have a i5 8500 and when folding at home my cpu temps are at 100 degrees, I am currently using the stock cooler. I would prefer the cpu cooler to be black but I am open to ideas. I have been looking at the cryorig M9I for $39 aud. I just want to see what else is out there. Thanks for any help.

Hi i am looking to build a small computer. I will have windows 10 as os and a virtualbox with ubuntu 9.04 with misterhouse running at all times. The pc's only purpose will be running the software and sometimes make small changes. (nothing else) The only computers i built so far were for gaming so i do not know if i can leave out a GPU for example. It would be very helpfull if i could receive some suggestions. Hey LTT community, so recently i thought of starting a youtube channel, and no i've no experience in doing this whatsoever. I game alot, league of legends, BF3 and 4, NFS MW 2012 (basically anything that was free on origin) to name a few, and I'm ashamed to say that all the other games i have are cracked cus i don't have much money. What i do have is a decent gaming PC, a decent internet connection( has a quota limit) and a cheap microphone which is surprisingly good. I know alot about tech stuff and gaming, as said before i game alot, i have opinions on tech and gaming stuff and i can speak( I can probably do fitness stuff too). So anyone have an idea how i should start and progress?, all i have now are some gta v videos i made in rockstar editor which i didn't upload cus of the copy-write thing, sooo anyone?.................(plus i don't know how to get subscribers) help much appreciated

Hi I game a fair bit and am looking to get a new pc but i only have sometrouble deciding what CPU i want the 9900K or the 3900X. I have 2x 1440p 144hz monitors. Mostly it will be used for gaming and ofcourse i would like the best performance. I have the habit of leaving games open in the taskbar if i know i will be playing that game later the same day or the next day. I also watch movies twitch or YouTube on my second screen. And i Always have an mmo (BDO) running in tray if i am not playing to get recources afk. I sometimes also have periods where i like to stream or record my gameplay just for fun (nothing serious or professional). The priority is that i want to play on 1440p on the highest settings with as much FPS as possible on one game while leaving some other games open or in tray. Wich CPU would be best for me? EDIT: I also would like to play vr on a 2080

Im planning on building an ultrabook + eGPU set up so that at uni I have a powerful slim laptop and at home I can plug the USB-C chord in and have a fully integrated gaming setup with my monitor, keyboard, mouse, ect. The biggest thing im stuck on is which laptop to choose, from what I can tell of the research i've done so far, the must have's are a Thunderbolt 3 with x4 PCIe connection and OPI 4GT/s Mode. What im looking for will ideally have a powerful 9th gen processor (although I could settle for an 8th gen if the 9th isn't really worth it), upgradability for ram and storage because I already have an ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB that i'd like to integrate, I wouldn't mind not being able to upgrade RAM if it had at least 16GB. I'd also prefer something without a dedicated GPU because from what I researched, running an eGPU on a slim laptop that already has dedicated graphics leads to overheating issues which i'd like to avoid. (Although I will be integrating a fan venitation system for where my laptop will sit when hooked up at home, I dont want to spend the extra money on a built in dedicated graphics card that I wont be using anyway) basically I only intend to use it for gaming at home and general use when im at uni. My current build is as follows: MSI MAG Z390 TomahawkGTX1080tii5 9600k16GB DDR4 2400MHz RAMCorsair TX850M PSUCoolermaster Masterair MA610PAdata XPG SX8200 Pro NVMe PCIe M.2 1TB I intend on using the GTX1080Ti for the eGPU and the M.2 storage as well. Basically what im asking is what laptop should I choose, in terms of cost effectiveness but also favouring the highest power possible, i'd still like to hear what you would suggest if money was no object out of curiosity. Essentially I want an Ultrabook + eGPU setup that is still as powerful (or more) as my current rig for gaming but also slim and portable for when im out and about. If you have any experience in the topic your suggestions are highly appreciated. From what I can tell, Linus' Razer blade stealth (2018) is the go to, but its hard to find one new and I guess its slightly dated or will be soon.
