Hello! i've been saving up to replace my old workstation with a system using the new amd ryzen 1800x. my previous system was in the massive nzxt phantom 820, and that was great for fitting my massive galax hall of fame cards and could provide enough airflow to feed them, but it's just too big for me now, and i'd like to move to something a lot more compact. i did a client build in a define nano s before and absolutely loved it, but it's still a bit too big for my future plans. here's what i have in mind: main thing is the case. i would like to get one in similar size and, if possible, style to the ncase m1 or inwin 301 (not out yet); extremly compact and space efficient, while still looking elegant. matx or mitx. the smaller the better. but it MUST support these components: amd ryzen 7 1800x 64gb of memory (4 x 16gb for matx or 2 x ecc 32gb for mitx) storage; main os on m.2 nvme on mb, 2x 3.5 inch drives and 2x 2.5 inch corsair h100i gtx aio 600w - 700w sfx/sfx-l silverstone psu motherboard matx or mitx with b350/x370 chipset. gpu size: 2.5/3 slots and 300mm+ in length and possibly having a very tall pcb. case: tbd (MUST support tall gpus like asus strix and gpus with very big coolers like gigabyte xtreme gaming). (i already ordered a ncase m1 without realizing that it doesn't support tall pcb gpus. i suppose i could go reference style, but the performance of the aib cards with their massive coolers and base performance boost is too good to pass up.) here's a few cases that i know won't work to help with narrowing down options: dancase itx; too small; no watercooling support at all, and can't hold a 2.5/3 slot gpu. fractal define nano s; too big; i won't be doing a custom loop for ease of use, making a lot of the space in the drive cage area wasted, and it won't support a 2.5/3 slot card. ncase m1; absolutely perfect, but it won't support tall gpus. if there's a great gpu that's 2.5/3 slots without being above reference height, then please let me know. anything atx: too big. price is not a concern. hit me with any suggestions. any help is much appreciated. thank you.

Hey guys!Long story short: Need a cooler for my Ncase M1. Needs to handle heat well and FIT!So far I tried 2 coolers. First I tried the Noctua NH-C14S (wanted NH-C14 initially, was unavailable everywhere). Could not fit that bad boy in with a side bracket - that meant no fans so I went ahead and returned it. I then got the Phanteks PH-TC12LS - said has no ram clearance issues. That was a complete lie. fits my z170i only in 1 direction (pipes facing up) BUT only after I removed the assembly that you attach the fan on AND it is still pressing on my RAM really badly so I will be returning it.Now what do I get? I want good cooling performance. My main candidates now are the Phanteks PH-TC14CS and the Noctua NH-C14. What do you guys think? My current build:CPU: Intel Core i7 6700KMB: Asus z170i Pro GamingRAM: Corsair LED (Red) 32GBGPU: Asus GTX 1080 Strix (which I have a problem with, about to create a thread - fan spinning at 100% constantly)OS Storage: Samsung 950 Pro NVMe M.2 256GBData Storage: Samsung 850 1TB SSDCPU Cooler: Noctua NHC14S Phanteks PH-TC14CS ???Case: Ncase M1Case Fans: 4x Corsair ML120 Pro Red Led.(Probably) irrelevant:Monitor Setup: 2x ASUS PG279QMouse: Asus ROG GladiusKeyboard: CoolerMaster Rapid-i white LED.New to the forum, new to the PC Master Race (have been using laptops until recently). Finally decided to put together a nice build for everyday use (with gaming). Any help is much appreciated. EDIT: Posted in the wrong section, can't move it to the Air Cooling anymore

Hello! I have an Ncase M1 V5 equipped with two noctua NF-A12x15 as bottom fan intake. Around and over ca.1000 RPM they begin to make a humming noise/resonate noise that noly get worse when the speed up. Tested them outside the cabinet, no noise at all at full speed. Even used the following vibration mounts, but still humming. Any idea what i can be? mabye i need to use NF-F12 instead? A shame when it comes to the cost of these fans... Ryzen 1600X cooled by NH-L12 Gigabyte AB350N-Gaming wifi Vega 56 stock reference cooler Thanks

Hi all! I am very new to this all. I am trying to build a mini-ITX gaming PC since I travel quiet a bit so the small form factor is very helpful to me. After a lot of youtube videos and research, I see that I have the budget for Ryzen 9 3000X and RTX 2080 Super for the CPU and GPU. - I want to be able to play Gears 5, Metro etc and steamroll them on a 1440p screen and have the option for 4k. I have already bought the Ryzen CPU, everything else will be bought but I wanted to go over them all first here. Is the Motherboard good? I am not sure if it allows Wifi connection. If it doesn't, what ITX/DTX motherboard should I get/ Am I missing anything? Should I replace something here due to non compatibility for any reason from size to just not going to work? BTW - The exact GPU is MSI GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8 GB VENTUS XS OC and NOT the normal looking 2080 Super that all the youtubers use- Can some please confirm if that one is ok go run and will be fine in the M1 case please? Any tips, replacements for lower price or slightly higher price and any suggestions is highly appreciated. I have attached the parts as an image as well as the profile in PCparkpicker. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Thank you very much! https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Pyro0o0o0o0o/saved/#view=ZLmV7P

Hi guys just wanted some feed back whether its worth giving this a go or is a waste of time. I have a Ncase M1 with the tempered glass side window and am looking at getting a new cooler as im using a noctua L9i which is running a little hotter than id like. I know most people recommend the Noctua u9s... however im not the biggest fan of tower coolers as they hide the sexiness of the motherboard. My current idea is to create a bracket to attach to the front panel to house a 120mm AIO so it give the case a clean look. I have mocked up a quick CAD to demonstrate the idea. I will flip the power supply to pull the hot air out of the case. So as i said im turning to the PC community to gain some feedback and reach out to those who have done similar projects. Thanks guys

Could anyone know if the NcaseM1 can accommodate the new RTX 3090 FE. I know the case can handle triple slots GPU but what’s about the length and the width of the card

Hey there! I just got into the Small form factor building group (using an Ncase M1) and need some help regarding how to controll the fanns that are cooling my 1080 ti. I have a 1080 ti strix oc that never ever wanted to be under 67-72c with stock cooler and the fans sounding like a jet was taking off, and so decided to switch over to an Accelero Extreme iii + 2 120mm fans I'm using the Strixes built in external fan controllers as of now, but they dont feel like giving me enough controll. as i werry much would like to be able to controll the fan speed from 0-100% and not only 50-100% wich is what the Asus GPU TweakII allows. Thermal wise im not having any issues, cant get over 57c with this Amazing thing of a cooler! but acustics wise id love to be able to have it set a bit lower during gpu idle. i do ofc know i could do all this with the MB and controll it eather via bios or fan programm, but i know of no such program that allows the fans to act like being the original fans of the card? i did come over this Adaper that would go from the original fan outlet on the Gpu pcb, but dont know if it will work with 2x120mm x450-2200rpm (power wise), what do you guys think? any suggestions would be Super helpfull! https://www.amazon.com/Gelid-CA-PWM-02-Adapter-Sleeved-Cooler/dp/B005ZKZEQA

I need to be portable so I can't use watercooling(not OC)

is it possible to fit the EK slim series 240mm radiator under the GPU for a custom loop and STILL use 25mm fans? im watercooling my asus gtx 1080 turbo with the bitspower waterblock, will that give me the 53mm of clearence i need between the bottom of the case and my waterblock to fit the rad and 25mm fans? i can go with 15mm fans but i've heard they significantly reduce performance, what is the performance difference between 25mm and 15mm fans?my specs:stuff i have right now: asus gtx 1080 turbo + i7 2600 and stuff from 2011.what i plan to get and do a custom loop with: i7 8700kasus strix z370-i16 or 32GB g.skill trident Z RGB ramcorsair sf600 power supply

Ok so I have already purchased my ncase m1 and have received it. Now I am still on the fence about a lot of the internal components, specifically the psu. I was originally going to get the Silverstone SX700-LPT but the reviews appear to be extremely mixed, and on Newegg it only has 2 reviews and both are negative. I am also worried about clearance for the MSI GTX 1080 that I want to install because I have seen where people say that the cables coming out of PSU push down on the GPUs. So the other option is maybe the Silverstone SX600-G but I run into the same issues with people saying they fail quickly and it's incredibly noisy etc etc. Does anyone have experience with either one of these PSU and this case? In addition has anyone bothered to see if they can get shorter cables from cablemods that accommodate cleaner cable runs? I want to get the Z170I GAMING PRO AC motherboard. By the way I am also considering the Corsair SF600 PSU, but worry about the SFX-L issue. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/qFFGPs

TL;DR: Vote for best, smallest, mini-ITX case supporting full size GPU and traditional cooling. I have more or less decided to abandon my beloved Fractal Design Define R5 for my upcoming build. (well if all mini-ITX goes wrong, it will gain the glorious title of Life Saver, and be happily used again) This time it is going to be a mini-ITX build, with portability as a high factor. The main criteria are as follows: Should be able to take full size GPU, in this case the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080. The case will be traditionally cooled, that is no water-cooling, so this should be taken in to consideration. Cubic cases are acceptable as long as they are “tiny” I have added a few cases in to particular order to get things started – feel free to add other suggestions, and promptly vote on them when added, in the comments. Experiences with builds, bad airflow cases, and so on, are also most welcome. Happy voting, Cherry Dude!

ok so im looking at doing a build this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZF7yMp im gonna put it inside the ncase m1 v5... already ordered it my question about the 980ti hybrid... would it be possible to modify the card by removing the rad and hose and adding my own tubing to it so that i could use the pump that is on the card to run a full custom loop? basicly i want to open up the 980ti and use the mounted pump as a system pump for a single 240mm rad, full coverage block fro the impact, and obviously the video card, do you think the pump is strong enough for that? would i still need an external res for fluid, or could it be a full closed loop inside the case?

I have just taken the plunge and invested in a M1 (Build log to follow ) however I am a little stuck on what PSU to get. Ideally I would like to try the new SFX-L PSU from Silverstone, from the reviews that I have read it's a lot quieter than most of the other SFX offerings however I am concerned as to whether it will restrict what graphics card I can use. Does anyone have any experience with using one of these in a M1, and if not are the standard SFX power supplies that bad of an option?

Hey everyone, finally building my FIRST PC!!! I'm a software developer by trade and have been installing ram/gpu in and out of computers for years so I'm tech savy and not a complete noob. With that being said I am new to everything else and I understand this probably isn't the best build for a beginner but I've never been one to back down from a challenge =) Let me first start off by saying that I have done a fair bit of research and understand I could probably find alot if not most of these answers on my own. However since it is my first time building a PC and I'm going to be spending a fair bit of money on this machine I would like to have some reassurance from veteran PC builders that I'm taking the right path. Now for the build. Budget: Lmao just kidding. I don't really have a budget. Although I would like to keep it under the $2,000 mark and preferably below $1500. I'm also not against buying "gently" used parts if its a bargain and in good shape. Goals: Portable Quiet 1440p gaming preferred at least 60hz HTPC Parts: (*** means not set in stone and still open to ideas) Case : Ncase m1 V3 - $225 Drive 1 : WD Red WD60EFRX 6TB (Not counting in budget) Drive 2 : Unknown SSD - 512gb GPU : gtx 970*** PSU : SILVERSTONE SFX Series SX600-G 600W*** Cooling : Arctic Accelero Hybrid II-120*** CPU : ?*** Mobo : ?*** Ram : ?*** Optical : ?*** Thought process on parts above: Case : Already purchased and seems to fit the bill. From what I've gathered is the general consensus is people are very happy with this case. I didn't mind splurging for a well built and aesthetically pleasing case =) GPU : Low TDP, powerful, quiet, and great bang for buck. Not sure if I should go for the mini or the full card. What are the pros and cons of each? Is one quieter or produce less heat? PSU : Noise. I'm aware that 600W MIGHT be overkill but if I'm correct it will run quieter since it isn't having to ramp up under load. CPU : I want something that isn't going to bottleneck my GPU. Willing to spend around $250ish but not sure if it's necessary Mobo : NEED wifi connectivity for HTPC concept. I don't really know where to start other than that. I've read if I want to overclock I need a Z series board and that their wasn't really any improvements since the z7* series Ram : 8gb or 16gb. Not sure on this one. Is 16gb overkill? Maybe buy a single 8gb stick now and buy a 2nd one down the road, or is 2x4gb > 1x8gb? Optical : the cheapest blu-ray player that can also stand the test of time. Shouldn't see to much use. I figured I should have one since this machine will double as an HTPC Drive 1 : I have had this drive for a while now and it stores all of my media. Hints why it is a requirement Drive 2 : Just need a cheap AND reliable 512gb SSD Cooling : I really have no clue where to start on this. The main reason why I thought of water cooling was for sound reasons. If I could get a quiet machine with fans I'm open to that as well. Main Concern: What kind of water cooling setup can I use with 970(full or mini) with 1 x 3.5" hdd and 1 x 2.5" ssd I appreciate everyones time for looking at this and am very grateful for all input to come! and sorry if I missed anything

Hi Guys, The result of my first attempt painting my GPU using PlastiDip. Cheers!

So I've decided that although my current computer is doing pretty well, it is a fair bit dated and very big (it's a full sized tower!) While I didn't mind the size of the tower at first, going to LAN Parties with my friends has become marginally difficult. So I've decided to plan (and later build) an upgraded machine that is relatively compact. PCPartPicker Link: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/DarkHairedIrish/saved/fCPcCJ CPU: i7 4790K CPU Cooler: ? MoBo: Asus Maximus VII Impact Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 2*8 GB Hard Drive(s): Samsung 850 Pro SSD (256 GB), Seagate Hybrid (4 TB) GPU: Asus Matrix 980 PSU: Silverstone SFX 600W Case: NCASE M1 That is roughly what I'm going for (if you can't tell, I like the colour red.) But I have a few various questions. First, is the Asus Matrix 980 small enough to fit in an MCASE? It's fairly tall and while it looks as if NCASE was designed to accommodate that extra height, I haven't found a build using it so I wanted to double check. Also, would the blower style cooler be significantly better for this system? I know it isn't red and black but if it would prevent the thing from melting then I would definitely be willing to switch. Second, I don't know what I should do for the CPU Cooler. I'm impartial whether it is an all in one water cooler or if it is air cooling but I don't know exactly what will fit and what would work best. Third, would it be better to wait for the next set of CPU's and GPU's or just go ahead and get the parts now? I know there is always something better coming out in X months but are we close enough to wait or should I just go ahead and build it? Replacing/Upgrading parts is definitely something I will end up doing eventually but should I wait it out or just go for it?
