dont no if this should be in build logs or console gaming i guess both or ether or hey this is my build log of hooking up consoles to a tv and the things to do and dont along the way. thing will be update and thing have happen that i didn't take a pic of. but when things are done ill get pics. consoles: nes famicom top loader: (with custom svideo/rca cable) svideo not working so its running composite why a famicom top loader? it has a multi out port. i have 2 dog bone controllers for it one im tying to make wireless with 8bitdo mod kit (battery cable too short...) aslo got a oem nes controller wireless 8bitdo kit with transparent orange buttons. will have 1 wired oem nes controller and dogbone. has everdrive n8 Snes: (with custom svideo/rca cable) svideo out cable my snes has a transparent smoke case. has a wireless 8bitdo snes controller with 8bitdo mod kit as well as wired snes controller with transparent orange buttons has super everdrive x5 N64: (with custom svideo/rca cable) svideo out cable has a has a transparent smoke case. but im looking for the fire orange... atm i have a 8bitdo wireless mod kit in a fire orange n64 controller with steel stick start button and 8bitdo joystick also have an orange n64 controller with steel stick mod joystick has everdrive 64 x5 gamecube: (with custom svideo/rca cable) svideo out cable but might switch it to hdmi dont no yet i have a orange gamecube swapped for English as well as an icedcube transparent orange gamecube that i think it can do component? it came with a scart cable but i dont no... i want to do mods to it like i got a 50mm fan for it. have a transparent orange wired controller and a orange shell swapped waive bird witch i need to cut slots in to still and swap the reserve shell over. i do have a media cd so sd card reading for a few emulators but meh. Sega genesis model 1 non hi def : with 75 Ohm Gold Plated AV Cable 4 Sega Genesis Model 2 + Model 1 Adapter, Retro Frog running composite might be an svideo out there i dont no got a wireless 8bitdo controller and a few wired controllers want to get the smoke shell for it but its costly... has mega ever drive Ps micro: with oem svideo cable have a brook wingman ps2 convertor to use my transparent orange ps3 controller i think not tested yet. i no there is a orange shell for the og ps but also cost alot atm Ps2: fat with hd component cable i have a transparent orange case but that system was broken and i gambled for a working one but got the wrong model... so ill have to buy another one... i got the better quality one thow so... i also have a ps2 slim also with a transparent orange shell but that too is broken and wrong model... also have a transparent orange wired controller og xbox the first xbox: a cheap component for now looks like there 2 good cable to buy but cost a bit but they all cost a bit so... has transparent orange shell no other mods done to it got a brook wingman xb2 with usb adapter to use a wireless controller with it what atm dont no. ya i no there a transparent orange controller dont no if ill find one... So I'm buying a new TV and I want it to work with my N64, GameCube and Wii. So it needs to take Composite. The model I'm looking at has some kind of AV-port (I think its a 3.5mm AV but i'm not sure. Here's a picture. I'd be really happy if someone could confirm). Could I just hook up my consoles with an adapter like this?

Super Mario 64 has been ported to PC from the N64 unofficially through the decomp code without emulation. There are a lot of misunderstanding going on with the PC port and misinformation aswell as it is not getting much attention. It was all over 4chan and was created by the same people who decompiled sm64. You can find on on their discord sever which is here but you need to provide the rom first. They also managed to get it running on the switch. Of course I am not going to post the file due to copyright. It currently supports windows and linux right now. It can run on directx or opengl at the moment. So why is this useful? Having the source code and being able to compile it with multiple windowing platforms like sdl and glx with graphics apis such as opengl and directx, you could easily run sm64 on many new platforms and hardware without the need of emulation. There is also a speed advantage since you are not emulating a console but playing it on your pc itself. Another thing is having a port to pc is just cool how they did it. With having the display lists rendered through a graphics api you could mess around with the shaders or how the game is rendered itself as shown as in a image I attached. This has also enabled sm64 to be played inside of the webbrowser with webgl and emscripten. If your wondering about if this is considered piracy it is not because you have to supply a base rom to first decompile before you can get the executable to run the port EDIT: They disabled invites due to the mass amount of people coming just for this Quick Update as of may 7th Nintendo has been taking down videos showcasing it and direct links to the compile executable. hey, I'm trying to use my dualshock 4 on project64 to play some roms because im too broke for a gamepad rn (lol) any idea on how to make this work?

Trying to find someone who can replicate this controller. Whoever made this controller isn't active online anymore and I would love to have this controller. It was made with color shifting paint. So if anyone knows anybody who can replicate this, please let me know! I

So I have a LOT of gaming consoles...like nearly a dozen in total. [PS, PS2, PS4, [wanna get a PS3], an XB, XB360, XB1, N64, GC, NES, Genesis, Wii, WiiU [NinNX when that comes out] [my VCR is also POTENTIALLY going to be included in this project despite not being a game console] PLUS a high end gaming rig. and this list is only going to continue to increase as time goes on and new consoles come out and phase out the old ones. The problem is, i have a hard time letting go of even trashed pieces of technology, and storing all of these things is a freaking hassle, especially because honestly i rarely use any of them, but i like to have them out mostly for show but on the off chance i do want to use them, theyre there [i have them all attached to a power squid that i leave unplugged from the wall when theyre not being used so no soft power eats at my electric bill] I just decided i might as well add my audio components to the build as well [the beauty of Modularity, i can get shelves to sit stuff like my record player on to] This means that the project may take a tad longer but will have like 99% of my home audio/video componentry built in to it lol So we are adding now a 6ish channel audio mixer to the build, and a cd changer with a shelf for my vintage record player and my parents hand me down vinyl collection [so cool that records are coming back] SO AN IDEA WAS HATCHED!! The original idea was to buy a full height server rack and transplant all my console hardware in to individual 1, 2, or 3U server cases but it was going to be nearly 350 bucks for a decent new rack plus nearly 50 dollars for each computer case plus the electrical engineering needed for the project is more something for an episode of The Ben Heck Show lol. SO A NEW IDEA WAS HATCHED!! I discovered the other night that Steel pegboard exists [that wall that everything is hanging off of in the workshop of LMG] and relatively cheap [like 50 bucks for 4'x2' online] So for much cheaper than the cost of a server rack and server cases...I can custom build my own wooden cabinet and custom build individual little gem boxes for each console to keep them nice and clean I know this may not nearly as cool as having a real server rack but lets be real..its way cheaper and much more customizable ill include a screenshot of a google sketchup version of the cabinet im talking about building. feel free to comment and talk and make suggestions and whatnot...im also looking in to seeing if i can customize the shape of the cabinet at all..like somehow build each console in to a sculpture, idk. Still a long term project, but much more doable financially now

Im currently trying to find a full height server rack on the cheap, and with my new iFixit pro tech tool kit i got for christmas im going to take all of my consoles apart and fit them in to 2U, 3U or 4U sized cases and fit them all in to a rack mountable PSU that has dedicated switches on each power plug, and plug every Audio/Video out in to a large HDMI receiver this will be a LONG time project [not planning to be done for at least a couple months as my new office this is moving in to has been torn down to the studs and theres no room in my current space for a project of this scale] but i just finished sketching out the cable diagrams for how im going to route everything and im getting ready to start looking for hardware to stockpile until my new office is finished being remodeled and i can actually get to work on this. if anyone has any recommendations for server rack materials [cases, shelves, server posts themselves, etc] thatd be super helpful. I just got a Nintendo 64 for nothing, and I want to test it, but we have no games for it to test it with. We tried hooking it up to our TV and turning it on, but it doesn't seem to output anything to the TV, but a red light appears on the front of the console. Is this normal, for it to do nothing when turning it on without a cartridge in it? Is there a way for us to test it without a cart?

I have an N64 that I play on with my roomates all the time. The TV we were using just broke. I was wondering if it would work to buy an adaptor and use my PC monitor. My monitor has VGA and DVI inputs. I was thinking of something like this Any suggestion/thoughts? Is this a good solution? Thanks

Hey Guys this is my first custom build idea and I need some help. I am trying to convert my N64 into a home theatre mini PC. The main problem is fitting all the parts in the restricted space the dimensions are in the Here (Wow I fail, The pic shows cm I means inches!) I know I can fit in a Raspberry PI but I wanted something slightly more powerful. For the Storage I was thinking of putting an SSD into one of the Game Cartridges that I have. So if you guys could tell me of any small mobo's that will fit that would be awesome! Also any tips on getting a PC into such a small space would be great!
