Hey. Little bit of background: I have a GTX 1080 and GTX 950. Windows 10 (version 1803) has option to have certain applications use a certain GPU. Problem: Power Saving GPU and High Performance GPU are both set to GTX 1080 (i mean, they aren't wrong...) I have found a workaround. I don't like it, but it works. Primary monitor plugged into GTX 1080 Secondary monitor plugged into GTX 950 1. Run first application 2. Change primary monitor to the one plugged into weaker GPU 3. Run second application 4. Have fun 5. Close applications 6. Change primary to original What did I use to test this stuff? win 10, 2 monitors (2560x1080 and 1440x9hundo), my morning, ROTR, NVIDIA Share (doesn't work with win 10 game bar) Like I said, I don't like it. Is there a way to trick Win10 to thinking that the GTX 950 is the power saving GPU so that things can *ahem* "just work" semi-natively? Thanks a ton. tldr::Can I trick Win10 to thinking weaker, power hungry GPU is power saving GPU? UPDATE - I did make a post of this same thing on /r/PCMasterRace so if you would like to see what other people have to say there, go check out the post. https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/978xtz/windows_10_dual_gpu_trickery/ (MODS, if there is an issue, please leave a comment, and I will get back to you as soon as I can to fix the issue without reposting)

Budget (including currency): ~900€ (for a 2 montor setup) Country: Austria Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming (mostly esport titles like csgo, overwatch, ect) and watching videos Other details Current PC has a i7-4790, GTX1080, 16GB Ram. Planning to build a new system in about 1-2 years. Hi everybody, I have a problem. In 2 months i will move to a bigger place to live, and for that i'm planning to upgrade from my trusty old friend the BenQ XL2420T (1080p120hz) to something less ancient. First i planned on getting a 1440p with 144hz (-or more) for gaming, a 4k60hz for watching videos and my old one as a third screen (Just because I can :D). But after some research i saw that a setup with mixed Hz seems to cause a lot of problems and is not advised. I don't know what the best solution might be for me, and so i came here to look for some advice on the best solution. Is there a way to make that setup work or do i have to live with the fact that all of them have to be "expensive" 144hz (-or more^^) monitors? I also appreciate any advice to "What resolution is a good choice for gaming" and "is more then 144hz worth it?"because I'm still not to sure about those things aswell. Greetings and thanks in advance English is not my first language. I hope everything makes sense :D

I am in the process of upgrading my monitor situation to accommodate an new job that requires much more monitor real-estate. My configuration would be as follows. This monitor https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XZ342CK-Pbmiiphx-Certified-DisplayHDR400/dp/B08BW3XS12/ref=sr_1_9?qid=1642697916&refinements=p_n_feature_two_browse-bin%3A23595194011%2Cp_n_feature_eleven_browse-bin%3A17726574011|17726575011|17726576011|17726577011|17726578011&rnid=17726572011&s=pc&sr=1-9&th=1 as the primary display at eye level (yes i know its not the best but I have a budget I need to follow) and then two of these monitors https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MDXF81K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 above that one side by side. The reason for this is I already have the 2 27in monitors and not enough desk space to put them on the sides of the ultrawide. My concern is this. I am unsure of the best way to mount it. My initial idea was to have the ultra wide on its in the box stand and then to use this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082KWH2RL/ref=crt_ewc_title_srh_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A177XTH6CJABI8 to hold the other monitors above it but I am concerned about sizing. I know that this would be very easy if I wall mounted them however I am in an apartment so I am trying to avoid holes in the walls if it all possible. If it helps with recommendations I am currently on a 59 inch desk (one of the ikea ones) with my computer on the desk just to sort of illustrate the room constraints I have. I appreciate any and all suggestions you might have.

Hello everyone, I'm Ivan. I'm the head technician in a small church. First of all, this is my setup: CPU: Intel i5-4460 3.2GHz RAM: 12GB DDR3 1600MHz MoBo: Lenovo H50-50 GPU 1: Zotac Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti Mini 4GB [1x HDMI, 1x DVI-D, 1x DisplayPort] GPU 2: Zotac Nvidia GeForce GT 710 1GB (x1 PCI-E) [1x HDMI, 1x DVI-D, 1x VGA] Displays connected to GPU 1: - DisplayPort to splitted VGA cable for main 19" monitor and duplicated stage monitor - HDMI cable (30 meters) for two TVs (audience) - DVI not used Displays connected to GPU 2: - VGA for old 4:3 monitor - HDMI to VGA for old 4:3 monitor - DVI not used So, every time I tried to connect the stage monitor for musicians directly into one of the DVI port available I'm having some troubles, as disconnections of other display and so on. What should I do? Any advice? I have a GTX 650Ti but on the Lenovo H50-50 I only have one PCI-E x16 slot.. that's sucks. Thanks!

It's not often that you see tech companies care for so long. But when it comes to gaming, ASUS takes things seriously. "Republic of Gamers" (ROG) is their gaming-focused sub brand that provides the enthusiast with gaming motherboards, graphics cards, headsets and so on. There's even a backpack available for your ROG notebook. And their enthusiasm is not limited to present-day technologies. Today, ASUS revealed their new ROG IDE cables. John Trent, ROG representative, tells us: "We want enthusiasts to be able to build complete ROG setups. The technology is outdated, but hell, we released ROG SLI bridges not to long ago. We don't care." ASUS claims that these special cables can achieve transfer rates of up to 170 MB/s by the use of ultra clean and smooth copper, taking gaming to the next level. However, installing the cable the right way around is important. "Every cable, before receiving the ROG logo, is installed and tested for performance to determine the best direction of installation. Once it's determined, they print the ROG insignia on the motherboard side of the cable." And consumer feedback appears to prove them right. In many online shops, the cable was sold out only a few hours after release.

GOAL: easy simultaneous multi-output audio control. EX: I will play a game (SC2 usually) and have audio going to my headphones and simultaneously music coming from my 3rd screen TV. This is nice because I can have my music loud but the important game audio is right in my ear and the audio is not competing on 1 output for priority. SC2 has nice audio settings that enable me to accomplish this by having the in-game settings mismatch my Windows sounds settings. This way I can have chrome-youtube (or preferred music provider) play through one and the game another. I would like an easier less tedious way to accomplish the same thing all in one place. Also it could add this functionality to games that do not have has good of audio settings features/ Any good programs or suggestions?

Hey guys, I've never built a PC before, but I've been doing my research for the past few months and I've decided to go for it. I'd like to build a PC by July of 2017. I won't use it for gaming, but I will need to run multiple large 1440p or 4k monitors (I'll be using it as my trading system - I trade equities). I haven't been able to find much info on the requirements of multiple monitors. Do I need more than one graphics card to run multiple monitors? In a perfect world, I'd like to run three (maybe four) 36 inch or larger monitors at 4k. Can I run that all from a high end GPU, or would multiple less-powerful GPUs be better? Do I have to have a certain number of output ports on each card, or can you run multiple cards through one port with dongles or whatever? I just really have no idea what is required to run several large 4k monitors, so any guidance would be greatly appreciated. -C

HELLO. How can I use 3 1080 ti's to feed with each a monitor on a triple 1440p g-sync monitor setup? I want to so gaming as well as other things and I want to be sure that I can make them all work together. Thanks for your time!! UPDATE: I want to do that so I can have 3 monitors for gaming on highfrapes, but I also want to be able o switch some settings so I can watch 4k things on my 4k tv by also turning sli on, on 2 of the cards.. too much? I sure I saw 1 guy that was playing dirt rally on monitors power by 3 gtx cards that they were not on sli.. do what's going on? thanks again!! the system is still in planning.. this is my last big issue that I wait to solve so I can start building UPDATE_2: Here this guy has this setup and it's not in sli but it's 3 gpu (2:16 :)

I'm looking for a good screwdriver that has ratcheting capability and has magnetic tips so I can have screws attracted to the screwdriver tip. For some reason, Amazon seems to have a bad way of describing these. Help?

Hello, I`m doing a Multi-processor server research and was interested in specific more than 2 CPU setup. Additional things would be support for 10Gbps NIC and additional management port. Except Supermicro I didn`t saw any other solutions. At least that would be 2U or 4U units. Has someone got any experience in this field and would like to share knowledge of these kind of servers? Also what kind of CPU would recommend. As i was looking at Xeon E5-4000 series.

Hey! My only HDMI port is already in use for my Vive, so I got an HDMI to DP adapter to connect the TV to my PC. Worked all pretty well, but the adapter stopped working after about two months, so i sent it back and got a new (different) one. With the new adapter the TV doesn't get detected in standby. When i turn it on my other monitors start flickering and the TVs sound output is not working until i open the sound control panel. Any idea why it worked before and doesn't anymore with the new adapter? I'd really like it to work again! Thank you guys in advance! I use Windows 10 on a maschine with a ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1070 AMP! Extreme This is the adapter I'm using now To elaborate a bit on my situtation, I use nircmd and some shortcuts to change my soundoutputs for TV, speaker, headset and Vive. The TV sound only works after i open the windows sound control - maybe that makes it look for connected hardware?

I have looked around and I haven't gotten a satisfactory answer before I shell out the cash for a Quadro p2000. My dilema is that I have 2 monitors and would like to keep using 2 monitors, but from what I've read i would need a display hooked up to the card i would like to use as my primary graphics adapter though. This is the article that has been the most help to me, even as far as steps on how to set this up: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/SOLVED-Quadro-P2000-GTX-1080TI-CAD-AND-GAMING-on-a-HP-Z620/td-p/6114848 If anyone has a solution or answer that would be much appreciated as I would like to have one system instead of 2. Some more details of what I would be doing would be CAD/3D modelling with the Quadro and gaming with my GTX 1070. Thanks again to anyone that can help!

I recently upgraded from windows 7 to window 10 but I've encountered a pretty annoying issue: 3D applications become limited to 60 FPS if I mirror any of my displays to my 4K TV. How does Windows 10 handle displays compared to Windows 7 and is there a way to get my monitor to run 3D applications at a unlocked framerate? I think the main issue is that this cases a framerate cap but I don't have a underlying knowledge on how to remove the cap in this situation. There's gotta be some kind of windows 10 setting that causes this issue. I've disabled the frame caps and Vsync in Nvidia control panel and Nvidia inspector and can verify that if I set all displays to to either "extend desktop" or disabled, the frame cap disappeared. But when anything is mirrored this 60FPS cap returns. My monitors maintain their refresh rates (in windows settings) If I disable mirroring the frame cap goes away Monitor setup: Where: 1 is a 144Hz 1080p monitor (main) 2 & 3 are 60 Hz 1080p monitors, generic 4 is a 4K 60Hz Smart TV My setup: GTX 1070 GPU i7 4790K 4.0 Ghz 32 GB RAM 4 displays (including 1 TV for couch games) If there's any more information that I could provide to help let me know, I need suggestions though! thanks

Which of these settings is responsible for single-core going lower in Cinebench R20? Also can I still expect better multi-core if disabling said setting? :3

So I have two GPU's in my system, both from nvidia. The nvidia control panel is supposed to let me choose which of them I want to use for which progam, but nomatter which one I choose, every single progam and game only runs on my "main" gpu. Why is this?

So, I want to do a full screen projector in OBS (my monitor is 1440p144hz and my capture card is 1080p60hz) but the playback is really laggy when my GPU is maxed out... So here is my question: I assume I can put in another GPU just for OBS and it's playback function, right? Looking at the used market around me, there is only really one guy selling a Firepro W2100. Can I use that for smooth video playback?

Hey guys! Comment down below your opinions about this multi-gpu (sli) thing. I do not know how to feel about this. Like.. I'll buy 2x gtx 1080 and I'm not sure what to think about this. On a side it will be overkill/a waste , and on another side I will have more fps. So , i'm waiting to see what you guys think.

(Fairly newer member of the PC Community as of 2014 so bear with me) So I was visiting Wiki's page about Xeon Processors https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Xeon_microprocessors here. I normally stick to consumer grade processors, but my work station at work has the Sandy Bridge E5-1607 CPU in it. I noted a while ago that it had no hyper threading, and only just recently found out it has no turbo boost, but that's not what I care about. (Well, I care because those would be somewhat helpful in a CAD environment but anyways) I noticed each architecture type has a standard, an entry and an efficient performance tag, as well as uni vs dual vs quad (and in later arch types octo) processor's. Every time I looked it up, 90% of the articles were about the cores, and the other 9% were speaking above my paygrade. Only one made some sense to me, and even then I'm still not clear. There was a minor mention of it in a recent post regarding the Xeon X3320. "... in the realm of Conroe (Core 2 and friends) "uniprocessor" (meaning everything on one die) chips " Aside from what the different proceesor types are, this also begs the question (for me anyways). If Multiprocessor chips are so much better, why did Linus only get the E5-2699 v3 Eighteen core, dualprocessor CPU instead of the E5-4699 v3 which is an quadprocessor? (maybe if he had to pay for it sure I understand, but I thought they were donated?) I'm not criticizing him or his decisions, I'm just trying to throw myself in a vast, expansive and ever growing world with only my self taught knowledge starting in 2014 from the vast interweb's and asking questions. It was LTT, as well as Paul From Paul's Hardware and Kyle From AwesomeSauce Network that got me inspired enough to build my own computer in December 2014. I had no prior knowledge really of computers before that (I knew what hard drives, RAM and mice were lol) so I've got a lot of catching up to do! Thank's in advance!

Anyone know a cheap switch that takes in a single input (RCA, or 3.5mm) that can swap/switch between outputs? I want to swap my rear outputs between my speakers or headphones. Id like this since my current layout limits my ability to swap ports physically, and some games dont detect the switch via playback manager. EDIT: Any good cheap headphone amps that lay on desk?

Hey guys, so I'm looking to get a monitor(s) for my new rig (4690k+r9 290x vapor-x 8gb) and I will be gaming on far cry, cs go, minecraft (mainly I game on CS GO). I was set on the U2414Hs but then I discovered how 144hz monitors can improve game play tons. Bare in mine that I will be only gaming on one monitor and also that my budget is roughly £700.
