So I finished putting together my new gaming/work PC a week ago. The specs are Ryzen 7 7800x3d, 64gb 5600mhz ddr5 ram, rtx 3080 ti, msi b650m-p pro motherboard, 1000w gigabyte psu, and two 2tb kingston nvmes. It was working perfectly until yesterday when I saw that the ram was only using around 4000mhz and I immediately realized I forgot to turn on the xmp profile in my bios. After going into the bios and turning on said xmp profile, my pc immediately shut down and refused to boot, the motherboard displaying a red light on the cpu and a yellow light on the dram, it wouldn't even boot into bios. After an hour of panicking and then half an hour of research, I found out that the new AM5 chipset doesn't work well with xmp profiles. I then manually flashed the newest bios update and removed the cmos battery to take the motherboard back to default settings. This finally allowed me to boot back into the bios and this time instead of turning on the xmp profile, I manually set the frequency of my ram to its maximum. This has developed a new quirk in my PC, now, it first boots with the motherboard displaying a red light on the cpu and a yellow light on the dram and then about a minute or two later all of my fans ramp up to their maximum speed, the pc restarts by itself and then finally boots normally without any problems. While I am happy that my PC at least boots now, I would very much like to have it boot properly instead of playing "red light, green light" every time I turn it on. Can anybody please help? P.S. I did check my motherboard's compatibility even before I put the PC together, there shouldn't be any problems on that front. I also followed the manual for how and in which slots the ram should be placed.

This motherboard usually goes around $250 used, they are offering $240 with free shipping, I'm slightly skeptical but I'm not sure, this is a great deal and I really want to get it. It this too good to be true? They have a lot of reviews and sells but I'm still not sure.

If left unplugged for a week (occasional recurrence), or completely unplugged from power to the computer for a few minutes (steady recurrence) The computer will not start normally, and the LED display is CPU failure at this time. But there is a very bad workaround, force disconnect the power, connect it after one second, the computer will boot itself, no blue screen crashes during use, and no problems. This problem was discovered when I accidentally disconnected the power and moved the computer to the bedroom. Does anyone have an idea? I can't troubleshoot this problem. Hi, This system had a broken power supply and I have just installed a new one, and immediately I have a new error. The VGA light on the EZ Debug LED is illuminated. I have triple checked and made sure that all cables have been inserted properly. I have re seated the GPU countless times, I thoroughly cleaned the contacts on the GPU with 91% Isopropyl alcohol, and I have reset the CMOS. This computer was working just fine and now suddenly I have all these errors. I have no idea what to do now, the computer has been nonfunctional for just over four months and all I want to do is get back to gaming. My specs are below: -MSI B450 -A PRO MAX Motherboard - Ryzen 3 3300X with stock cooler - TEAM T-FORCE DDR4 3000 RAM 16 GB (8GB x2) - 1 TB M.2 NVMe SSD (main drive) -2 TB 7200 RPM SATA HDD - thermaltake SMART BM2 650W - TP-Link Archer T4E - ASUS M DISC DVDRW I don't know the BIOS version, but I do know it should not be a problem as the computer was working fine with that BIOS version previously.

hello. yesterday the power went off while the pc was running. after the power returned, i powered it on but i noticed it's taking a long time to post or show anything. the gpu, monitor and hdmi cable are all working and i tried 2 gpus. but whatever i try the motherboard's led will always be stuck on "VGA" even though: IMG_0318.x264.aac.mp4 -there's the gpu info printed on screen at boot if i use a gt 520(video) -a gtx 970 evga sends a signal but it stays black -changing ram shows the "cpu or memory changed! please enter setup to configure your system" warning (after waiting like 15 seconds), with F1 to run setup or F2 to load default values, but it won't accept keyboard input(once it accepted an f1 input and showed "loading setup" but it froze), although the numlock toggle and ctrl alt del work but the response takes 1-2 seconds -both gpus work on another pc the motherboard is clearly sending a signal but i don't know why it's stuck there and it won't boot without a gpu. i tried clearing the cmos, removing all hard drives/ssd and reinserting cables specs: MSI H310M PRO-VDH PLUS Intel i3-9100F 8GB Ram

Quick specs: Mobo MSI Z390A- Pro Inet I7 9700K 3.60 Ghz ADATA RAM 16 Gbs SSD for footing AIO don't who the manufacturer is because iBuypower put their logo and it doesn't tell anything else on it More info on the attached image. So I bought a rig from iBuyPower a couple of years back and it was running great till this week. I'm a VFX artist & video editor so i do have CPU intensive work load. My CPU Cores are basically cooking themselves, and it's not just one, all of them. I'll Attach an image with computer info and specs. no weird sounds or blue screens, or even crashes it just thermal throttles and the performance goes out the window. this is right off the bat after booting up even after letting it cool down all night as the MSI center image displays the socket is still a bit hot but way cooler that the cores on chip. I love computers but when it comes to assembling one and of course maintenance I'm out of scope. so please if anyone has a great idea of how to fix this that would be great. I moved to Mexico so sending it over for RMA or anything of the sort would be a nightmare and i think I'm out warranty already. I moved the computer to a different power outlet and I'm using a PSU that should handle my workload. Clean and reattach fans to the chasis Artic with silver compound thermal paste reapplied AIO sounds like its working but the air coming out the exhaust is still fresh and not hot so i think it could be the pump but the socket being cooler than cores makes me doubt myself. light on the pump turns and on and displays animations but i have no way of getting a read on the pump. The AIO connect directly to the power supply so i switched it to a different outlet just in case that one was defective. I tried under volting the cores but looks like AI on the software is already downing to avoid getting it hotter and if add voltage it just shuts down. So i just reset everything back defaults and let the software do it's thing. clear my temp files and scan for viruses fo a good measure. Vacuum the chasis Mobo Bios was updated. I'll get a new pump but I'm hoping that all i have to do before I call this CPU unusable. if anyone had a similar hiccup or any idea i would appreciate the help. Thanks in advance

I recently got a new motherboard after my previous one unfortunately met an untimely end. However, after installing and updating the most recent LAN drivers listed on MSI's driver page, I keep running into a kernel_mode_trap BSOD when I go to turn off the mobile hotspot application. This is because I intended to use my PC's WiFi connection for my phone so as to save on data usage. However, after about an hour or so, my phone gets disconnected from the mobile hotspot, and disabling/re-enabling my phone's WiFi connection does not resolve the issue, and it no longer sees my PC's hotspot. The next logical step is to turn off the PC's hotspot, but that's when it BSOD's. I was able to locate another thread submitted last year that was experiencing the exact same issues from two other people, both using the same setup I was AND the OP listed their MoBo which is exactly the same brand and model line that I have. Between the OP's specs and mine, the only similarity between our builds is our MoBo. We're all using an ethernet/hardline connection to our Router while attempting to use our PC's mobile hotspot feature. I'm trying to figure out if this is an MSI issue or an Intel WiFi issue, or a limitation of the communication between the ethernet connector and the WiFi adapter. Any help would be awesome. I just built my first ever pc! Put in all the components and works perfectly. I installed windows on my 1TB m.2 ssd and have used that for about the last week now. Just yesterday I got another m.2 ssd to use as dedicated storage for schoolwork. I plug it in and now it keeps booting into BIOS! I tried reseating the ssd, changing BIOS settings to AHCI mode, and even swapping the drive slots between the two of them. Nothing, it keeps booting into bios. When I take the new ssd out, it boots to windows no problem. What mistakes am I making?! Also, in replies can you use layman terms because I'm not too knowledgeable on computer settings. Thanks! Title pretty much states it- my 10700K is only boosting up to 4.66 GHz despite Intel saying that the max Turbo Speed for this chip is 5.1 GHz. In case anyone is wondering, I am running at stock speed & haven't really overclocked the system. In fact, the only things I tweaked in the BIOS was making sure my tower heatsink was detected properly & I enabled the XMP profile for my ram. I noticed that the Turbo option is on/enabled & I've set my power settings in Windows to High Performance just for a little more efficiency. Also, I'm on the latest BIOS version with all my drivers & updates installed. I really don't quite seem to understand why I've only seen it go as high as 4.66 GHz though... But yeah, I'm a bit puzzled as to why it's not boosting as high as it can go. So if anyone has any thoughts or theories, I'm all ears! For anyone who is curious or wishes to know, I'll provide my system's specs just so you know what type of hardware I've got in my gaming system. PCPartPicker link: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8FZ9gt Anyway, if any you happen to need more details or just have questions, be sure to ask & I'll fill you in! Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Hi I've just plugged in my new Samsung SSD Sata M.2 into the M.2_2 slot in my MSI motherboard and it's not being recognised. I used this video as guidance to check everything was working https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjUcauNQl8U. I would have plugged it M.2_1 however I'd have to remove the heatsink on the CPU to get at it (big hands). Appears to be correctly seated in the motherboard. Done check on specifications https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Z370-PC-PRO/Specification (appears to correctly support) Updated driver (windows 10 64bit) including both Intel Chipset Driver and On-Board PIDE/SATA Drivers. Done check in bios at start-up and the MSI motherboard does not recognise it. Also not recognised in disk management utility. Does anyone know if I've missed something? I'm not sure about the compatibility particularly. Thanks Jeros

As the title implies, I am having a hard time getting the full wired internet speed to my main PC. We recently upgraded from 500 mbps to gig since it was only $10/month more, a no brainer. As soon as I started running speed tests to make sure everything was in working order, however I found my desktop was having a hard time attaining full speed. After several resets and testing the same ethernet port with my laptop, I found my integrated ethernet ports to be the culprit. I posted on reddit and searched google to see everyone suggesting I update drivers or revert them. I have even taken my pc to another port to see if it was my pc itself, which it was. Beforehand, my pc used to get full 500/500 with the old connection. Now, it gets 800 down, but around 200 up, even connected to the 2.5g port. After a reddit post and several google searches, I'm unsure what to do. Any good advice? Extra info below. Specs: Ryzen 9 3900x, MSI Mag Tomahawk b550, with gig and 2.5g ethernet ports, 32 GB ram, RTX 2070 super. Ethernet connected to gigabit port. ISP: Frontier Fios, gigabit speeds (940/880), used to have 500/500. Quantum Gateway Router Current speed tests: 800/200 (roughly) Driver Info: 10.48.315.2021, March 2021. (updating or reverting did not help the speeds)

Hey guys, would aura sync still work with cooler master fans if the motherboard is msi (carbon gaming pro max wifi) and is controlled by the msi mystic light? The cooler master fans are connected to the cpu fan 1 headers and system fan 2 but the aura sync software won't pick them up. 1 is an argb and the other 2 are rgb.

Just yesterday, I upgraded from my FX-8350 to an i3-10100f. Older games like just cause 3, dying light 1, and minecraft have all had major improvements in performance. But games such as Metro Exodus, Jedi Fallen Order, and even Crysis 3 all have worse performance, Metro being worse of all. It should be running at around 100 fps on low settings, but it runs at less than 30 in the benchmark. My cpu will run at 100% in all the games that run bad, but is not overheating, it doesn't even break 60 (which seems bizzare with a stock cooler). Here's what I've done so far to try and fix it: 1. Update my bios to the newest version, which came out 7 days ago 2. Drop settings in games, it doesn't help 3. Made sure my memory is running at it's max speed, 2666mhz. Made no difference 4. Sob uncontrollably, pc gave me one pity fps Other details that may be important: my pc has felt sluggish since I upgraded. I also didn't reformated my drives and reinstalled windows after I got the new cpu. But I have made sure to install ever driver that I can for my pc, so those are all up to date. I recently gave my perfectly working 3060 to a friend and bought a completely new 3070ti, however my system doesn't seem to work with it. On pressing the power button, rgb lights up and the other components turn on, but there's no video output and the gpu fans aren't spinning. The motherboard's "vga" led lights up red. What I've tried - Unplugging all cables - Diff monitor + cable - Diff pci e ports - With and without my ryzer cable - CMOS reset My Specs strix 3070ti 5600x kraken x63 rgb msi b550 tomahawk TX650M Corsair vengeance 16gb 3200mhz ddr4 1tb seagate m.2 3x corsair sp120 strix helios I haven't changed anything about the system other than the gpu, so it's basically impossible that a component broke. All ideas are welcome.

Hey guys, I have recently ran into troubleshooting issues regarding my "Samsung 960 EVO M.2 250GB NVMe SSD" and my "MSI Krait Z170 X3 gaming motherboard". The issue came about when out of the blue my PC wouldn't post, I could only resolve the issue by taking out my SSD out of the M.2 slot, to which my PC boots twice and then begins working fine. The error that the board is illuminating is a VGA error. Can anyone please help, I have tried resetting the CMOS on the board but it doesn't help.

So I got a new hard drive and i installed it with my 2 other hard drives and my ssd. I reformatted all of my drives and installed Windows 10 on my ssd. Then I installed bios updates and Windows updates restarted my computer formatted my new 4tb hard drive for a secondary disk and went into the bios and enabled raid mode from the before ahci mode. Restarted and hit ctrl I, raid 0 my 2 1tb hard drives, restarted and black screen and my mouse won't turn on. Unpluged mouse and put it back in nothing. Restart nothing. It won't post. I finally took my cmos battery out and waited 10 mins and it worked my bios was reset and I could enter the bios tried again to raid and same thing restarted a couple times and I managed to get into windows randomly. Formated my raided drives and transferred some files on to a back up drive and restarted and now my screens black and mouse is gone again Idk what to do. Hit every button on keyboard and then some. Hey all, I've just built a PC using an old (but gold) i5 2500k and an MSI z77 motherboard. Tested with integrated graphics all works fine, when I install my 780Ti I get a 'B2' in the bottom right hand corner which I assume is some sort of error message. 30 seconds later it boots into windows just fine. It's very odd and the manual does not mention it, at least I believe it doesn't. Anybody know what's up?
