I am running a PC with Ryzen5 3600, G.Skill Trident Z Royal 3600MHz 2x8 on a msi B450 Tomahawk Max. From the start, even after enabling XMP the RAM speed was capped at 2133 MHz. I had to manually set the speed at 3600 from bios. Just recently I bought a set of 3 case fans (1stplayer firebase G3). It is powered directly by the PSU via molex. The problem is after installing the fans when I powered on the pc it powered on and off a few times and then showed a warning saying "Memory overclocking unsuccessfully" and sets the RAM speed back to 2133. For PSU I am using the Cooler Master MWE Gold 650W so I don't think it's a power issue. can anyone help

Hello everybody.. I need some help!! So my buddy just bought a 2tb crucial p3 gen 3 nvme m.2, we installed it in his pc witch is compatible with his MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX mobo and went to boot the pc with the old 3.5 sata ssd with windows still installed, in hopes of being able to do a simple clone to the new m.2... Long story short the pc wouldn't boot, not even to bios with the m.2 installed. we are plugged into sata 1 and sata 2 ports for the 3.5 ssd and his 1 tb hard drive... we ended up having to enable raid mode in bios and did a fresh windows install on the m.2 without the 3.5 sata ssd or 1 tb hard drive plugged in. But now when we go into his file explorer his 3.5 ssd 1tb wont show up nor his 1tb hard drive. Everything shows up in bios and also shows up in disk manager. when right clicking on these drives in disk manager it wont allow anything to be clicked on other than the help button. I assume this is being caused by some bios setting maybe?? could bios use an update or reset?? I know there's other very similar forms, but everyone was having issues not seeing there other drives in bios or disk management.. I'm not crazy knowledgeable when it comes to pcs so i would greatly appreciate anybody's feedback also when removing the nvme it would boot up fine off the 3.5 SSD and could access the 1tb hard drive. so I don't believe any of those are faulty.. and yes everything is plugged in properly and secured

I have an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard and a Ryzen 5 3400g processor. I can't boot until I update the BIOS with the flash BIOS option and a USB drive with the correct BIOS. I've been using the correct BIOS and renaming the file to "MSI.ROM" but every single time without fail I'll plug in the USB, turn on the power supply, push the flash BIOS button, and nothing happens. If I remove the usb and push the button, the light flashes three times and then stays off and from what I read, that means it doesn't detect the USB which would make sense since there's nothing plugged in. I have it plugged into the correct USB port and it must be recognizing it right since it doesn't flash three times with the USB plugged in? I've tried everything and searched everywhere on the internet and talked to MSI, nothing has worked so far. Also I've tried this with and without the CPU and RAM installed, no difference there. Edit: The system does NOT and has NOT ever booted, the CPU is good I tested it in another system.

Anyone here with Ryzen 5 3600. Have set there Vcore Voltage manually (no overclock)? Mine is set to Auto and it jumps to 1.3v-1.4v Which makes my Idle temps 45-50C. Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max any tips? Edit: i did some tweaks and set voltage to 1.325 and Clock speed to 4100Mhz. Now i see its running at 4100Mhz constantly, is it safe? no issue in temps but there is constant voltage of 1.325v but before with default values voltages was 1.1 to 1.4 with clock speed doing down to 800Mhz - 4200Mhz. Can you please tell me which one is safe for the cpu life span and general system stability. Thanks

Machines is: Ryzen 5 3600 MSI B450 Tomahawk Max 16 GB G Skill Ripjaw 3600Mhz Zotac RTX 2060 Samsung 980 Pro 500GB (C: drive:) Samsung 860 QVO 1TB (D: drive) The machine used to have another 1TB 860 pro as the boot drive but i wanted to upgrade to the 980 and just add the extra 860 to be extra storage. used the Samsung data migration tool to clone and migrate over to the NVME drive. Looked all good at first but now Bluescreens any time i play a game. it can sit in the game menu for hours and be fine, it can be just used as a workstation and run fine, but if i open a game then it'll crash after about 10 minutes. Samsung disk magician shows all drives are using the latest firmware Stop code is WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR

Hi there, I just noticed that my MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX motherboard has now a BIOS update which provides resizable bar function(https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450-TOMAHAWK-MAX). I know it provides a performance boost to the graphics cards by allowing the processor to direct access the VRAM. But AMD hasn't provided officially to b450 chipsets and older processors(I have Ryzen 3 3100). Should I update my BIOS to gain that little performance boost? Also I'm currently using a much older GTX 750 TI 2GB graphics card and waiting for new budget GPUs to come. I'm afraid that updating the BIOS and enabling this feature might break something. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

I have following spec: Motherboard: MSIB450 Tomahawk MAX CPU: R5 3600 Ram: xpg 16gb PSU: Corsair RMX1000 GPU: Inno3d 2060 Super I switch to 3080ti. At first it worked and booted into windows. Now when i starting playing a game, within 5 mins, I got black screen and felt like it got restarted. After that I kept getting error "No Signal" and the motherboard stucked red light at vga. Gpu lights works. Things that I tried: Resetting the gpu. Using different cable. Using hdmi and dp cables Older gpu still works. Clearing driver from ddu. Bios is updated to latest. Gpu is connect to two separate power cable. No pigtail cable used. Tried GPU on another system. There is worked, but not on mine. On mine, 2060 Super is working fine Tried on different slots. Cleared the CMOS. Removed the cmos battery and unplugged the PSU power cable from wall. Setting PCIE to gen3 instead of auto. anyone got any idea what would be the caused ? The motherboard Red light is stuck at VGA.

I, have been having random BSOD at boot and random moments on my PC for more than an a month now. After some research on in ternet, i found out that the bsod codes where memory related ones so i swapped my ram for Corsair vengeance 3600mhz brand new sticks but it didn't changed anything. I tried updating my bios to the most recent version but that just increased the pc instability. I also tried cpu test like OCCT and Prime95 and each of them crashed with physical cores errors. The system is not overclocked and bios is running at stock settings. Is my cpu broken or bios tweaking can resolve that type of problems ? My current config is Windows 11 Ryzen 5 3600 MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX ( 7C02v30 BIOS) Corsair CX650 Zotac RTX2060 Thanks for the help !

Hello, about a month ago I started having random crashes related to chrome memory and bsod on my PC, yet I didn't change or replaced anything. After some research, I found out that it could all be caused by a faulty ram. So I ran memtest86 on both sticks overnight and got +200 errors on each of them. So yesterday I replaced both RAM sticks (Team group 3000mhz) with brand new Corsair sticks. After running memtest86 overnight, I got 7 errors and I still have random bsods. I already tried everything like updating bios, resetting cmos, changing ram frequency but I always managed to fail memtest86 with some errors. It's strange but it seems like i manage to get more stable ram with less bsod when using the release version of the bios than when i'm using the last one. On the last one i bsod at every windows start while with the release one it's every 20/30 mins. My current configuration is : Windows 11 Age of system 3 years Age of OS installation 3 years Ryzen 5 3600 Zotac RTX 2060 MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX Corsair CX650 PSU 16gb Corsair DDR4 3600mhz ram dual channel Thanks for the help ! I am looking to build my own PC lately. I chose the Ryzen 5 3600, because it's not that expensive, and it's almost at its highest clocks out of the box. Further I was thinking about the MSI B450 Tomahawk Max for my motherboard. I am going to play games and do some light work on it, so I don't need the other chipsets. As for RAM, well, prices now are quite nasty. So what did I choose? Crucial Ballistix RGB 16GB at 3600 MHz. I was looking to drop all of this tech in the Fractal Design Meshify C with tempered glass. Oh and the power, that's being delivered by a bequiet! Straight Power 11 650 Watts. And as a extra option, a HP EX920 512GB M.2 SSD. And the GPU you might ask? Well, I'll pick my old MSI 1050 TI Low Profile and drop it in there. Same goes for my Crucial SSD and Seagate HDD, altho I really need to upgrade that one. it's only 500GB . And when I have build the PC, I will save up money for the GPU upgrade. Thinking about a second hand Asus ROG Strix GTX 1070 Ti. Any further thoughts that you might want to let me know? Oh and, what troubles should I expect when I install my Crucial SSD that has Windows 10 Pro on it, but was only used on an Intel system. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I am giving to give up with my PC at this point in time. It is my first build and the specs are listed at the bottom of this post. My RAM kit is Corsair Vengance LPX 2*8GB and on the tin it is desrcribed as 3000mHZ (15-17-17-36) and DRAM Components are Micro Tech and 8GB D-die. Using the A-XMP profiles, originally, I was able to use the 2800mHZ profile with no problems. If I went above this it would be able to run, but not consistently. This was the same with 3200mHZ. Leaving the PC off over night or turning off the PSU, the PC would not boot for the first three of four tries and only be successful after this powering on, then off, then on procedure. I resorted to using the 2800mHZ profile because of this. For the time being, I used the 2800mHZ, until last weekend when I decided to have a look at this issue. I ram a memTest at 2800mHZ and there were no errors. I then did some research on DRAM OC and used the DRAM Calculator 1.7 and Thaiphoon to create a group of settings for 3000mHZ (at SAFE). This profile did not work for my PC at all and I had to reset the CMOS to get back into the bios. Can anyone help with this issue? It is driving me up the wall! CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 3600 RAM: Corsair Vengance LPX DDR4 2*8GB (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15) Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX (BIOS Version is latest) PSU: CoolerMaster MasterWatt 650 GPU: GIGABYTE GTX 1060 6GB OC

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Neo F4-3600C16D-16GTZNC Motherboard: MSI B450 tomahawk max CPU: ryzen 9 3900X This is a 32gb 3600 mhz ram, which seems the best I can get. Is it good, and will it work properly with the specified motherboard and ryzen cpu? it isn't in the QVL list tho.

I was wondering if there's any significant loss if i put a secondary gpu into pcie 2.0 16x slot that run 4x My secondary display run at 1080p 60hz Mostly just for broswing, youtube, hwmonitor, spotify, discord etc....or maybe running my memu for my mobile games while gaming on my primary display I did some research So it appears that it will run 1/4 bandwith 2gbps So fps might be lower than primary pcie3.0 16x slots, but I'm not gaming in secondary display anyway So as long as the gpu (gtx1070) hit 60fps it wont matter sort of speak, rit? Fyi i have 2 gtx1070 Tldr I'm bought second gpu for pubg back then blueballs still support sli,but then everything went south since 1.0 update no sli support but at time the price for gtx1070 already went down to the point I'm not willing to sell this The future rig will be using 3700x,msi b450 tomahawk max And yes I'm still considering 2700x with asrock x470 taichi since total price about the same but with better mobo,i can still sli if i needed I'm aware that this mobo msi b450 tomahawk don't support sli

Hi there, I'm new at this My system's idle temperature is 45-50C and while gaming it get's from 61 to 70C(sometimes 72). my idle temp seems very high considering what I saw in other forums and YouTube videos. So I changed my cpu and system fan speeds from my BIOS. Below are the screenshots. Please can anyone suggest me if this is a good setting? systemfan 1 is rear fan and 3 is the front one. Also when I applied this settings my idle temperature is still at 50C on Ryzen master. Considering there are no noise issues. I want to make it cool and power efficient as much as possible. My specs: Ryzen 3100 16GB 3000mhz RAM MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX GTX 750 TI Also please advice me on how to optimize gpu fans on MSI afterburner. Thanks.

Hi, I built my PC yesterday with an experienced friend, I have 3600MHz speed ram (2x8gb) that is defaulted to 2667MHz. When i went into my BIOS to activate the XMP profile and set the speed to 3600MHz it all saved correctly, I rebooted and checked both NZXT Cam and Task Manager and they said I was still running at 2667MHz. I'm not sure why the XMP Profile isn't applying. I have a Ryzen 5 2600 CPU, Corsair Vengeance LPX3600 and an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max. Thanks

Hey everyone, Just finished my Hackintosh build using the OpenCore Install Guide for Ryzen 17h processors. I'm running Windows 10 on my Samsung 970 Evo 1 TB drive, with MacOS Catalina running on my Samsung 860 Evo 1 TB drive. Per OpenCore's AMD BIOS instructions, I changed the BIOS mode to UEFI. This makes MacOS load up with seemingly no issues, but when I boot to Windows all of my networking is disabled: My Wi-Fi Adapter and Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller both have this message in Device Manager properties: When reverting back to CSM mode, all network adapters work without any issues, but I can't boot into MacOS without a kernel panic around login. Update 09/21/20: I narrowed down the issue and it seems to be a problem with enabling 4G decoding in the BIOS. The Realtek Ethernet adapter and wi-fi card will not work while this is enabled, but MacOS boots fine. With the option disabled, I have networking in UEFI mode but MacOS will kernel panic upon booting up. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing drivers (directly from Realtek and TP-Link) with no luck. Let me know if I can provide any other information. Any help would be much appreciated! Update 9/21/20 4:00 PM: I've solved my issue. The fix is essentially done by booting into MacOS with UEFI mode enabled, 4G Decode off, mounting the EFI partition and modifying the config.plist file to include npci=0x2000 in boot-args. My Windows boot has networking capability, and I can boot into MacOS with no issues. Hope this helps someone!
